Interestingly, this weapon is not just good for hunters, but for any 2h dps class, for the simple reason of the very high DPS. Yes, by the time you're 70 you have many options for 90+ DPS, but with a good group you can get this a fair bit earlier. I got it at 66 earlier tonight, I'm a Retro paladin, and I find it neatly outclasses Hatebringer, which I had before.

You simply have to kill both bosses of the instance (and loot them), and pick up a book on the ground in the room before the second boss. Hard to miss. The quest is gotten right outside, and turned in there as well; doesn't get any simpler than this.

And no, it's not pink, that's the ambient light. It's an attractive weapon.

It's a quest rewards. Warriors and hunters can both get it. No rolling is involved. It's great for both classes.

and not a quest reward, i would seriously pass on this to a hunter. Sometimes you just have to take into consideration who its a bigger upgrade FOR.

But since its not a drop but a quest reward, all this hunter vs warrior arguing is completely #$%^&*ed.

Okay. As an Arms Warrior, I look at this polearm. And, do you know what I say? I say, "Meh." Do I say, "This sucks" ? No. I say, "Meh." Because, I know I can get better gear than that. I know there are those of you out there that have the gold to waste putting on the expensive top end enchants, but if you can do that, why not just be a blacksmith, and do all those, and get the crafted weapon? For me, who is poor, I still say, "Meh," because I want something better, something more like this, this, this, hell I'll even take this, despite it giving resilience. I like my top end. Top end makes me happy. I like my Strength, my Stam, and my Crit Rating. Agility's swell and dandy, don't get me wrong! But, there's just so much out there for Warriors, it's almost laughable that people would argue. Besides, who gives a crap? It's a reward. If you're a Warrior, and wanna take the spellbook reward, you CAN. Who the hell is going to stop you? Is a GM gonna show up, ban your account, and delete all your characters? No. It's a nice polearm. Hunters deserve it. More than any other class, which is my personal belief. Will I take it? Yes! Will I use it? Most likely! I need to up my Polearm stat, as it is! Will it be my main weapon? Uh.... no. No it won't. Because it's nice, but not THAT nice. Take a broader look at the items that you can get. Once you see that there are better items than this? You can stop *!@#$ing about who gets it, and start PLAYING the game.

haha, some 70 NE Hunter (also wearing this weapon) followed me around in shatt and kept using /laugh when I was wearing it as a 68 warrior. She's stupid; even though it has hunter stats it still slightly beats Honed Voidaxe (loses ~4 minimum damage but gains ~10 maximum damage and DPS).

I replaced it a whopping 100k experience later with Crystalforged War Axe anyway...

Okay i have been lookin' over the comments and i must say. I play both warrior and hunter (Both are lvl 70). And i laugh at all the warriors crying that is a Warrior weapon and hunters shouldnt use it coz they dont melee etc.

My Verdict :

Hunter - Hunters should use this despite the fact they dont melee the stats on it help the ranged DPS. Thus it being an okay hunter weapon. We never claim to use it for melee and even if we do it helps out. Like i said.. stats is what counts most on it.

The agi helps out for the range dps and the stam gives them a bit more HP.

Warrior - A warrior should be using this as a last resort. Honestly yeah stats are good and but as a warrior i also want some Strength in my gear.

All n all this is perfectly good for either Hunter or Warrior.

End of the day, its a quest item not a rolled item so Warriors who are QQ'ing about it. Get the heck over it and move on its not ganna affect your game play now is it.

If you are a warrior or paladin, and use two-hand weapons, make sure to get this at level 65. Basically, there's nothing else comparable at that level. This is a "Level 115" item, which is the highest level "blue" item in the game, which many of the level 70 instance bosses drop (the rest drop level 112 items, which aren't quite as good).

93.3 is the highest dps you can get before epics. People say "hunter stats," but as a warrior or paladin, with all this Agi, you'll be getting a lot of crit and dodge. You can never really have too much Agi, and at level 65 and following, 93.3 just can't be beat. Warriors and paladins may not get the extra attack power that hunters get from Agi, but they make a lot more use out of the extra armor and dodge since they don't have a pet tanking for them.

agi is actually decent for a pally, and in this case it beats the #$%^ out of most weapons with flat crit which is what the standard ret wep looks like. sure the other stats on the higher level weapons are better but getting this on 66/67 does not only give you the superb top end damage but also close to 4 crit from wep alone.. that is a &*!@load.
still, i have to admit ret dps needs good 70 gear to start looking like something.. but this is a nice leveling thing, and it beats going sword n board in prot, let alone holy

Why people are still complaining about this, I don't know.

It's NOT a rolled for item, people, it's a quest reward. Who the hell cares who uses it, it does not do anything to YOUR game if another class uses it.

Hunters: slap a +15 Agil enchant on this and it's a lovely weapon until you find a replacement epic.

dude if you are a hunter then strength is totally useless and this weapon is much better...if you are not a hunter then you are correct in ur saying

If you like it, use it.

If you do not like it, vendor or disenchant it.

Being that all the time I've played wow, I've only recently managed to level a hunter to lv70, I've been waiting till 70 to try and get this weapon.

I've leveled a shaman, paladin, druid and mage, and with the first 3, one thing I find (I always go dps on my classes) is it can sometimes be hard to find the right balance for these types of classes, when your thinking of the balance with shamans and paladins they need intellect, strength, crit chance and other stats.

But with a hunter, hunters have the easiest means to increasing their performance with the least amount of trouble, basicly agility, crit chance and stamina, and since agility already gives to crit chance, most armor and weapons would focus on AP and Agility.

So it seems like this weapon was made with hunters in mind, as it doesn't present any other stats to be of much use to warriors or paladins.

I've been using this with my DK for a couple of levels now and prefer it over the honed voidaxe I had been using that you get from the ring of blood quest. I tried the famous duel wield build but I just didn't have enough hit rating at that low a level to make it do more damage than my two hander build. IMO this is a good two handed dps weapon as long as you have a good haste rating, Icy Talons for example decreases the speed to 2.6. I'm sure there are better weapons out there but for right now this is working fine for me =)

68 MM hunter... I want to know if i should use this or the Staff of Beasts from Nagrand? Is terokks worth spending a nice enc on and getting rid of the staff?

I dont know why half these pictures make it look pink, because it's blood red and black. Nice weapon though, not hard to get from the quest there. And by the way, this weapon works for any primarily 2h melee dps class (dk's, paladins).
