Best metagem for PvP warlock.

For blue gems pick
Solid Star of Elune (https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=24033)
and Stormy Star of Elune (https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/spell=31095)

Stamina is king for PvP and since last dot "nerf" resistance check occurs every tick so you'll need some spell penetration.

As a tank you're looking at this gem or Tenacious Earthstorm Diamond (https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=25898). I chose this one because the requirements for Tenacious seem to be more maintenace than I really wanted to deal with and there doesn't seem to be a shortage of +def gear out there.

This is a strong tank and PvP gem. Why more stam is a good on a tank are healers will be refilling your health, and more stam means more HP to heal.

Also, tanks should be using stam gems, so the requirement is a non-issue for them.

This is without a doubt one of the easiest meta gem requirements to make. Whether you're PvPing or Tanking you're going to be piling on Solid Stars of Elune for the stam bonus.

For dps spellcasters who want this gem, I suggest Glowing Nights eye (spell dmg + stam) for the red or blue slots and Radiant Talasite (sp crit and sp pen) for the yellow or blue slots.

As always Solid stars of Elune are nice, but it's easier to hit the meta gem requirements using the hybrid gems.

Orc warlock here. The +5% stunresist bring me back 20% and most warlocks got enough +12 sta(blue) gems in there sockets to makes this META work fine.

iIf you put a GREEN gem into a yellow socket, it counts as a blue gem too!

The tooltip above says that it Requires at least 3 Blue Gems. It does indeed take 5 (FIVE) to actually get this gem to activate. Buyer Beware!

Very nice tanking item for instances/raids
as a prot warrior the thing that wipes my group is when i get stunned and boss goes for a squishy then healer and Etc..
also it has 18 stamina which rounds out to about 180 health
Clearly the best Tanking Meta so far in BC :)
seems that most Meta Gems are class-only items such as +26 AP and minor speed increase (Hunter/Rogue POssibly Fury Warrior)

ok... I have a question that maybe you can answer... If i have 1 Socketed Item "only 1" and its https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=32473 (tankotronic Goggles) i can ignore the socket bonus.. and drop 1 blue gem into the slot and have this metagem work? if so lemme know... cuz so far this is the only meta gem that i can access (no group for the Potent Unstable Diamond) the meta gem bonus would be bigger than the socket bonus and i'd have the +12 stam gem in... so i'd have +30 stam and the root resistance. Does the stun resist work against all stuns, even bosses stuns, like maiden's repentance and gruul's stoned or is it limited to only pvp stuns from other players?
Because if it doesnt work in many pve cases, many other meta gems would be a better choice for pve.

I use this gem on my Lock. I have to say when I duel friends that play rogues, it's hella fun to resist all of there stuns. 5% is a small chance, but if you resist that initial stun they don't know what to do! Plus, playing sl/sl all you need is stamn and this has a lot of it. IMO it's the best sl/sl lock gem you can get in pvp, but as I said, that's my opinion. :-)

I'm kinda confused here, the tooltip sais -15% stun reduce...this is a level 70 gem.

However, the 80 gems all have -10% stun reduce max.

As a warrior with enough stam and ap, In a pvp point of view, were stuns are the most common form of direct cc (not indirect like fe roots) for me, since they are all instant, can't be reflected, or use berserker rage on it. I feel like this lvl70 gem helps me more (in conjuction with my talents making a total of 35%) then lvl 80 gems.
Is it a slipup from blizzard?
Does it really give 15% or just 10% reduce, with a fail in tooltip?
Is it gonna get fixed?
Or they bringing out new gems who will also be 15% reduce later in wotlk?
Is it worth letting a gem with 5% less stun reduce but quite a few stamina points go for this?

I've had this a full 30 days, and it has not once prevented me from being stunned in pvp or pve. (Yes, I meet all the gem requirements for it to be active.)So I would not waste your $ unless u just want the stam. Will be testing out the snare resist gem soon and posting on that topic in about a month to see if it really works.

I regularly resist fears now. But I also have the talent in my priest tree as well. I have noticed a difference with it equiped.

I am an alchemist and I transmute the raw gem that is then refined into that and it takes 120-150g to buy the mats or you can farm them yourself and it puts the alchemist on a 2 day transmute cooldown, so considering cost of mats being 120-150g, and profit of a modest 10g or so, plus some recompense from not being able to transmute at all for the next 2 days, lets call that 10g, the gem alone is like 150-170g easy.

Then of course there is the jewel crafter who has to refine it, consider the effort the put into grinding the rep and how hard it was to get to the vendor, plus making this gem puts them on a 1hr cooldown till they can make another, call that 20g for their cutting services, you can pay 170-200g for this final product, easy.

What does it mean when it says "requires at least 5 blue gems?"

I thought this was a crafting requirment, then I socketed it into an item and it is greyed out. It's not explained anywhere what this even means.

I Think that's gonna be the Meta gem which I will place in my Arena Headpiece. Even as a Mage I think this could be the best for PvP in Arena. 18 Stam is great and the plus 5% Stun resist is a nice gimmik. Also it only requires 5 blue gems. That shouldn't be a problem as there are the hot +12 Stam blue gems. you see I like stam :)

With the latest patch you need 3 blue gems, not 5. This is very good for the rogues who want to have the gladiator set with this gem, so you can have a few more slots to use for hit or attack power.

Use a purble gem in a red socket, or a green gem into a yellow socket. I use Jagged Talasite and Sovereign (sp?) Nightseye.

Question...

i have a feral druid, in my tanking set i ahve a heap of gems and would cover the requirements easiely

in my dps set however i do not have many gems at all, certainly not enough to fill in the requirements

both sets share a headpiece, which has a meta socket, if i put the meta gem in while im in my tanking gear, then put on my dps gear will i still be able to wear the helmet AND get the bonus still?

I currently have this gem on my exorcist's dreadweave hood that I got from turning in my spirit shards. I have 15% stun and fear resist from talents, so with this I have 20% total. this definitely will give me a slightly better chance against rogues since they almost always kill us priests. I was planning on eventually getting the battlecast hood and pants set. I only wish the hood had a meta slot, because I really like the +5% stun resist. if I get that set then I cant have a meta. oh well, the stam and damage is better.

ok to clear this up, im seeing mixed answers. does the stun resist stack with talent that provide + stun resist and/or racials that also + stun res ( looking for some solid evidence : P)

This gem DOES stack with all other stun resist Talents, abilities, racials... anything. You can also use 3 purple, or 3 green gems to get the 3 blue gems needed.

Works really good for any class in PVP, so I recommend getting it! ( I have it too )

Question: if you don't have the 3 blue gem requirement, do you still get the +18 stamina bonus? or do you not receive the stun resist AND stamina by not having the gems?
