Soloed the two guards at the entrance as a 70 mage, the orders dropped from the second guard.

I have run Steamvaults 8 or 9 times and have never seen this drop. This last time, I was with someone who was on their first run and it dropped for them after 6 pulls. They tried to let me loot it, but only they could. Very stupid.

This is possible to get solo as bm hunter. I just did it actually :) Why I did it was because I really can't find group so easily to any CE instances and I don't need much rep to revered for hat enchant, but now I can buy Coilfang Armaments.

There are 2x 2pack in start of SV, just trap one mob and kill another. If you didn't get drop, just reset and try again. I used boar pet and I don't have imba gear (2x t4 + blues).

I got my drop on 6th reset.

If you originally had this drop, accepted the quest, then at a later point destroyed the Orders, you have to abandon the quest.

This happened to me, and I tried just running SV again until it dropped, and 3 runs later, I wasnt able to loot it any of the times.

So if you have the quest but not the orders, abandon the quest then rerun SV to get the drop again

This drops off all mobs in Steamvaults, both heroic and normal. That's my experience at least.

did this as a pom/pyro arcane mage. pigged one immediately slowed the other got some distance, did pyro/pom/pyro fireblast, root, arcane missiled down til it died. ran out, healed up and repeated with second near the entrance, obviously goes much faster with only 1 standing. no problems with 10K HP u can take a few of their 1000 dmg hits on cloth. Did this until it dropped, required resetting the instance a few time.
forgot to add PvP geared with 878 spell dmg ;)

Solo'd as a 74 deathknight so I could get the guardian of Cenarius title. Solo Unholy spec, probably doable by most classes at this level

Does anyone know if the drop rate listed is accurate or is it artificially small due to it not dropping for anyone who already has it? I've picked up some Coilfang Armaments on the AH and I want to keep working on my Cenarion Rep, but as a lvl74 afflock I can only really manage the first two mobs by myself and I've had a hard time finding groups that still care about Steamvault. Is the drop rate good enough for me to be able to get it if I just kill the first two mobs in the instance a few times and reset, or is it going to take way more than that to get it to drop?

For anyone who is still interested in this letter. The letter will drop off the first 2 mobs at the beginning of the instance. It took me 15 atempts over a few days because of the reset limit but I did get it from the first two mobs. Also, should be no problem for a 69, 70 demo lock to solo.

Dropped off 4th mob (siren of warrior/siren pat that passes by the stairs).

It has 0.6% more drop chance on the warriors but it drops of EVERY naga mob in the instance, HC and normal.

I've had 3 runs in Heroic, 9 runs in Normal, and I've collected 73 Coilfang Armaments. This has yet to drop, which is very disappointing. I'll hit Exalted within short, so I'm wondering if this was a waste, since looting is what takes the longest time when we're so high leveled.

I have been through the Steamvault once before for the achieve (with a friend), but did not get the drop. I just went in again specifically for this item (solo), and it dropped within the first 20 mobs on the first run.

Drop rate for this item should be counted as how many mobs before it drops (at which time, STOP COUNTING). In my case, I killed 96 mobs before the Orders from Lady Vashj dropped, making the drop rate for me approximately 1%. Averaged over many people, and we could see a realistic drop rate. Happy snake hunting!

I have done quite a few runs, across two or three alts, with the sole purpose of finding the orders. I kill all the naga in the entrance area, reset the instance, and try again.

I have killed a lot of naga, but no orders, yet. I have a lot of coilfang armaments in the bank, waiting for the lucky alt for whom it drops ;o)

I cleared HC first, no drop.
Decided to try on normal mode, it dropped from the 5th mob i killed.
The drop change is quit high ;)

The funny thing is that I have submitted a GM ticket about this and it is apparently still a drop and a quest item. I will be confirming this today if I can.

I spoke to a GM about this quest item no longer dropping and the quest chain no longer being available.

This is the relevant part of the reply I received:

"I have looked into it, and the quest Orders from Lady Vashj was indeed removed from the game, but we don't have any information from the development team if it was intended change or an oversight at the moment."

Yes, that particular quest item has indeed been removed from the game. Sadly, i do not have any more additional information then that. If you're looking to farm Cenarion Expedition reputation, you can probably try this quest line instead: Aiuta chi non può aiutarsi da solo

Confirmed by a GM, this item still drops however it is a random drop which may take some time and he "has his fingers crossed for me"

Took about 13 kills for the drop as a 70 rogue.

Since WOTLK date has been released and most people are either doing gdkps/running end content, I decided to solo this on my rogue at 70. Sap one of the two first Coilfang Warriors, kill (bandages are your best friend), then repeat, then reset. I suggest having evasion up before starting your second run.

This and the repeatable quest for Coilfang Armaments has been deleted from the game in retail.

Soloed this as a protection warrior at level 85, was able to pull all the mobs and kill them very easily in a corner. I did this maybe 10-15 times without having the item drop a single time. Maybe the item does not exist in cataclysm classic? Good thing the mobs in the dungeon gives reputation, was able to grind the rep very fast.

For those of you who play Cata classic, this quest is no longer available. Was doing 7 full trashruns and nothing dropped. It was removed in Cata pre-patch I believe. I don't know if you can hand in the armaments anymore at all. Better do it HC for a week to reach Exalted.
