So, do you have to have 375 tailoring to see this on the loot drops, or just tailoring in general? I've run Shadow Labs quite a few times and have never seen this drop. (365 tailoring).

The drop rate is higher than the listed % here, because if there is no tailor in the group then the drop won't occur, and not all groups have a tailor. Also, I don't know if wowhead client picks up on the epic recipe drops that other players loot, or only items that the player can loot or need/greed. Either way, I think its more like 5%.

I have run Shadow Labs 42 times now and this pattern has never dropped. I don't think the drop rate is .3% but I doubt it is 5.

And yes, I am a tailor high enough to use the item.

Done SL lots of times now. This dropped from murmur lately and luckly we had a Guild member that had tailoring.
Only I don't know if this droprate is so extremly low because when I went the other day to SH the Hood pattern dropped.. Might be because I'm on a server with low amount of lvl 70s (Ghostlands). It's a nice item though, just be the lucky one that gets it.

I can hereby confirm you do not have to be 375 tailoring to have this recipe drop. I managed to get this recipe a day after i had learnt tailoring (I was still level 1).

Does indeed drop from Murmur in Shadow Labs. Got it on my third run. The lock and I were both tailoring... I won roll. Nice piece just wish they made the epic sets stats better in BC.

Oh... and I wasn't 375 tailoring.

You wan´t these pants! When writing this, there is currently none other pants in-game on the live servers, the clearly overcomes the Spellstrike Pants. I recommend you farming in Netherstorm for motes of mana for the spellcloth. Go just north of Area 52, great place. Get som primal mights of the auction house, on my server, they are worth just above 100 per. If you farm the primal manas for yourself, buy the mights, then you only need a tailor with a primal nether( and of course the recipe for the pants). This won´t be such a huge problem. After the 2.0.1 patch, primal nether will be purchaseble for 12 Badges of Justice in Shatthrath City. Can easy be obtained by a guild running 5 mans on heroic in the weekend. If you need these pants for end-game, then heroics should be easy for your guild.

This won´t take longer then a week maximum, if you dedicate som time to it, and you really should if you want and need these pants. Much smarter then going on the auction house and bid on them starting at 2´500 freaking gold.

Did my first ever Shadow Labyrinth run on my Mage last night. Both this and the Greatsword of Horrid Dreams dropped. I got the sword, but a 69 Shadow Priest with only 350 tailoring won the pattern. Having just done the long grind to 375 Tailoring and made my full Shadoweave set, I was supremely angered. He'll probably never even USE it.

Then again, I ran this place no less than 30 times on my Paladin (enough to go from 300 into Friendly to 10k into Revered with Lower City without doing quests) and never saw the Healing Plate chest drop... so I'm getting repaid for my pain. : )

I ran shadow labyrinth from honored to exalted, and this didn't drop for me once. I probably ran it daily for a month, at least, trying to get this thing to drop.

Now I'm exalted with a faction that has little benefit for a mage. I'm off to grind SV for the battlecast pattern, by the time i'm done i'll have me a hippogryph, i'm sure.

Took me 22 runs to see this drop, and even though everyone had agreed that since I was only there for this and that I could have it if it dropped, another tailor in the group had a change of heart when it did drop, rolled need, won, and left after saying "Sometimes you don't get everything you wanted". Sigh.

Back to running it and another 12 under my belt with no drop as of now.

Now drops in Normal. Probably as of 3.1.0 patch where they increased the droprates.

It has always dropped in normal mode, as far back as my memory goes anyhow. I got it on my mage in Spring 2007 on normal mode.

I've done SL 20+ times trying to get this, no luck so far. It wouldn't be so bad, if it didn't take an hour to put the PUG together, and 2-3 more hours to clear the dungeon.

Edit: It dropped today on my 30th run. Too bad for me, our healer (Paladin) was a tailor, for god knows why, and he won it. -_-

I can craft this on Dragonblight - Alliance side.

I am a lock and do not need these pants, but have Primal Nethers and would gladly craft a pair for someone if they could craft me the Battlecast Hood or Pants. Just swap mats and viola!

It really bothers me that I have 4 primal nethers and I have to shell out 200g for one because Murmur is a stingy S.O.B. and SLab pugs are the things your darkest nightmares are made out of.

Really bothers. They need to shift this pattern to the 1st or 2nd boss. This way when your party completely sucks and is unable to beat the 3rd boss (like today for me), you won't waste 2 freaking hours of your life.

Never believe an idiot when he says his 67 holy pally friend can main heal for shadow lab. This is how @#$%^&edly desperate I am for this pattern.

Yes it does.
It droped for me when my skill was around 360. I got 375 yesterday and have had the pattern for around a month in the bank.

So you dont need 375 in skill for this to drop. :)

Just got this pattern tonight while I was getting my key frag from slabs. 336 Tailoring and it dropped for me.

Also keep in mind the nether has a much higher chance of dropping on heroic but does have a chance to drop on normal.

The Primal Nether and the Pattern dropped at the same time for me on the same run. What luck huh?

Only tailors can see it and asking if it drops when there are no tailors in the group is like asking if a tree falls in the woods and no one can hear it does it make a sound?

I'm Revered with Lower city and have 2 primal nethers already from normal runs in SL and still no pattern. :(

So is it confirmed that Heroic has a higher drop rate?

this one dropped for me on very first run in slabs was only 354 tailor and only tailor in grp, sweet luck, yes, but i have been running lots of shattered halls to get hood pattern and any luck,lol not any. maybe ill just keep getting badges for the sweet epic hood from the shatar quartermaster, ya 50 badges but better than spending a ton of runs doing sh over and over

Dropped for me about a week ago, after countless stalkings of Murmur. I lost count of how many runs it took. But, on the bright side---Random Epic Drop! Blinkstrike dropped, and I was the lucky roller. Sold it within an hour for 2100g.

I also won the Nether that dropped off Murmur as well. I can honestly say it was my best run there--ever.

All in REGULAR SL!

I had this drop for me in Slabs normal, along with this was a Primal Nether, the Dagger and the Sword. Very nice drops, and to put the icing o nthe cake, i got my kara attunement key and finished the quest to kill Murmur, i ended up getting the Pattern, dagger, nether. Then the quest handin reward :D

need to know:
1) Many People think that you need tailoring to equip this item, that is wrong, you need Tailoring 350+ for the Set bonus, not to Equip.

2) I've never personally seen it drop but I know it has a very low Drop Rate, And once it do Drop only Tailors in the Party can Roll for it.

3) Looks imba with Spellstrike + Spellfire

I just got this from murmur non heroic, was very lucky i was only tailor, but wow he also dropped ace of lunacy and a green random, as well as the 2 normal blues he drops, that 5 in total, amazing
