30*12 = 360 mana per 5 minutes = 6 mp5

mp5 value goes down if you don't use it every time it's cooled. Best use is to get a trinket swap addon, since 3 int and 2 spi aren't a very compelling reason to wear this full-time.

Upon using this trinket (and others like it, I would guess) any non-combat pet (like a cat or snake, for example) disappears and the Jade Owl appears. If you bring out your pet again, the owl will vanish along with the buff; so wait until the mana regeneration has completed and the owl vanishes until you recall your usual pet.

I should also mention that using this trinket will not activate the global cooldown. You can cast a spell, click the trinket, and cast your next spell as usual without any delay. It's likely the same with all other Jewelcrafting trinkets.

This can be activated in an alternate druid forms. I havent hit boomkin yet but once I get a hance to test it Ill let you know, but Im sure if you can trigger it without leaving cat you can in Oomkin.

Decent trinket. I'm using it off and on for my Shammy. Between it and Shamanistic Rage I can go a fair amount of time without drinking.

I see nowhere on here that is actually required JC to use/equip this, just to make it, correct? So you could say PL your JC to get this and then drop JC for something else?

Keep in mind this is one of the earliest equippable trinkets you can make with JC, so if you're leveling an alt with the profession it's nice to have if you're a mana-based class.

Going to make one on my 32 paladin once I get to the requisite level for sure.

I love my jade owl! It might have cost me a bit to get because I brought the jades and Dust but it got me out of so many bad situations as a Pala! ;D thats better than a bunch of repair bills XD

Okay... Seriously? Look at this for a sec. Level 35 trinket, buyable pattern, 360 mana in 12 seconds. It ALSO has stats, and the cooldown is 5 minutes...

Now, look at THIS... Level 60 ZG trinket. Of course, with the BC expansion, it also becomes outdated, but it has a 3 minute cooldown and also restores 360 mana, yet it doesn't have stats.

A vendor trinket pattern is better than a rare raid trinket... All I have to say...

If I'm doing the math right this equates to essentially 6mp5.

360mana over 12 seconds every 5 minutes.

60 ticks in 5 minutes for regular mp5 gear.

360/60=6

With this trinket, https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/item=17718/gizlocks-hypertech-buckler, and blood elf racial every 2 minutes exactly, at level 49 I'm getting about 24mp5.
Throw on improved blessing of wisdom from holy spec and it bumps it up to 54mp5. Not bad at all.

So wait, by the screenshot obviously this thing is visible. But is that an equip effect or a use effect? I've never seen one (or any figurine). Current JC - 140, so a ways off but still curious.

If only JCs could craft a pet out of these. The Jade Owl, along with the ruby serpent, are the coolest looking stone pets in my opinion.

My Jewelcrafter will be using this constantly as soon as I find a way to get the mats to boost up to 200 JC.

I don't get the pet thing.....the trinkets stats doesnt actually say it summons a jade owl. Is the jade owl your pet when you use the MP5 or something?

So this thing requires like 200 JC to make, but 285 to equip? Where shadow panther trinket is a lvl 38 trinket and requires 215 to craft and 215 to wear.

1 - This trinket is BOP, so you cannot sell it or give it to another char or player.
2 - This trinket can be worn only by jewel crafters with 285 JC skill, so if you change your mind and drop JC, you can no more wear it.

The most idiotic part is, at 200 JC skill you can craft it. But you can only wear it when you have 285 JC skill. In normal conditions, to reach 285 skill, you need to prospect thorium and craft related items which is in around lvl 50-60 regions. so if you are not an alt and boosted, when you reach 285 most probably you will have a better trinket.

It's been awhile since I made an alt with Jewelcrafting so I forgot about this booby trap. I don't care about the costs, which are minimal if you run a posse of 80s but it's still irritating to fall into this nubular trap. It's like a whoopee cushion from the designers. Thanks, guys; you got me. Very funny. Picking on an old dude with a compromised memory like mine.

What bothers me is that which costs more than any amount of money - the time. I could have spent that time getting another, better trinket for my mother. She's into that kind of thing these days.
