I was thinking of getting this for my elemental shaman, Now our guild is not anywhere near going to any end game but getting there, what do you all think, do you think this would be worth it?

You need Revered reputation with the Frostwolf Clan to buy this.

This is the same staff as the Alliances Crackling Staff.

Great transmog staff. It does not show enchantment glows, just a soft glow of its own.

Please tell me that these last two posts were just naive about caster classes and do not fully understand what is meant by

"Equip: Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 15."

Note the part that says "Increases damage AND healing". Meaning this staff is not restricted to a class that can heal. It also increases damage done by spells.

As for the other one that says that mages can't use staves. I hope that was a joke, or you have just never seen any mages on your server whatsoever. If you look around, you'll notice that most mages indeed uses staves. No it's not an illusion, that's not a fancy sword with a cross on the top of it, it's actually (okay this part may be hard to believe, so brace yourself) a STAFF! Pretty crazy eh?

its the same staff as crackling staff because one is only available from stormpike and one is only available from frostwolves.

I have just one comment.... please, before you post about who can use (as in equip) read your World of Warcraft game manual (its that little book that came with the game). It says right in there what classes can use what weapons ;). That includes training for them.

I hope this clears some things up for all of you.

Playing a destruction warlock I must admit AV was worth alone this item. There are so few better staves that are easy to obtain that I think I will invest the time/gold for the +30 spell damage enchant on this sweety.

I played about 9 AV matches for this. Some were extremely long (3-5 hours), I stayed at most until the end. And, I never lost one... Still the effort ist quite acceptable.

The hefty 33 Gold price tag is something that is a thing to point out - this is no quest reward...

The AV exalted items for casters are offhand... Pity there are so few caster daggers/swords that are easy to obtain.

This is a horde only staff, the Alliance get an identical staff stat-wise tho, called the Crackling Staff.

Bought this staff a few days ago (just hit 60, was exalted with AV at 58). It's pretty nice for a shadow priest like me cause I can use both the healing and damage properties.

Just got one of these, and I like it. Getting revered with Frostwolves isn't that bad either (compared to getting rep for Ironbark staff with defilers..) In the interrim, this is a great staff.

+dam and healing is good for a pvp heaing class or a damage class. Not for healingspeccs, it exists tons of better gear that just has +healing.

+dam is EVERYTHING for a warlock. Explanation: they get full bonus from dots, and get loads of the damage done back in life. Uses shadow and fire, thats why +dam AND healing is great.

+dam is almost everything for a mage too. Uses fire and frost. +dam AND healing preferred.

Other classes: +dam and healing is good for pvp, or allround builds that allows you to both heal and do damage. Otherwise go +dam OR +healing.

Any way you look at it, the Whiteout Staff is a pretty darn good piece of gear. Similar weapons can be rather easily acquired from Strat, Scholo, and so on, but the vast majority of them are level 58 (blue) or less. This, however, is a true level 60 blue item, and so it is correspondingly more powerful. The massive Stamina bonus is particularly useful to those builds that might not otherwise have too many hit points. This, along with respectable bonuses to Intelligence and +Dmg/+Heal, means that any caster class can make good use of it. And hey, if you have to actually hit somebody upside the head with it, the slow attack speed and high maximum damage means they'll probably feel it.

Revered reputation with the Frostwolf Clan (Alterac Valley) is required to unlock this item from the vendor. However, since it is not uncommon to gain 500 Reputation or more from a single AV battle, this is an easy goal.

Price once unlocked is 35.73g- an absolute steal compared to what a similar item might sell for on the AH.

I saw this 1st time i went AV on my Druid, and i just thought "Damn!" C'mon guys, it is cool and stamina kicks ass! Dosen't cost that much either! I'd definetly say that this is a Druid staff, even though a lock might as well say that it's a lock staff, due to all the stamina, right? O.o

I cant find any guy in AV. I think thats because of my server. does anyone know another way to get this lovely staff? :p Maybe a monsterdrop or so.

Just hit reverred today. Bought this staff for my Shaman. Not bad, hits hard looks good, matches my spec in every way. Windfury Crits, fun stuff. Oh yes it has a Purdy blue glow to it.

If you don't have something better by the time you make it to revered with Frostwolf Clan this might be alright.

They should really look at bumping the int up to 25 or bumping the damage up to 30-40 like other level 60 staves.

Kinda sucks that they give it the same skin as every other staff...the Alli version (crackling staff) has a much better looking skin with same stats. Blows.

100% you can buy this stuff when you revered with Frostwolf clan in two locations:
1st: Outside of AV enterance(Alterac Mountains, north of Tarren Mill).
2nd: Inside AV Battleground itself at Supply Officer.

im exalted with alterac, and this staff seems familiar, but im not 100% sure, if the realm wasnt down right now id check, but if it was from alterac it would almost definetly be revered, not exalted

I've read that it's a reward from Battlegrounds at high faction - not sure if it's WSG, or AV, nor which level of faction, but I'd assume Exalted.
