They drop of both the rages scar yeti's and the ferocious rage scar yeti's, the two yeti's share spawn points too.

Maybe ConnorElzaim is just lucky. I had to kill 55 of these guys to get all 10, although I wasn't skinning them. On the bright side I got a Pristine Yeti Hide and the Feralis Distress Beacon while trying for the hides. Hope your luck is better than mine!

Best bet is to go inside the cavern at 53, 31. The drop rate increases dramatically... roughly 1:3

Pay attention to the fact that the drop rate is the same for each of the scar yeti's, regardless of elder, ferocious or rage. So don't go killing the stronger/higher leveled one thinking you'd be getting any more drops. :)

Especially if you're quite low yourself!

the lvl 46-47 never drop a hide, but the lvl 48 drop one every kill, and i got another one by skin them

When i went there - a troll was killing them and apparently was not a skinner. I got more than 2/3 of mine from skinning his corpses. :)

Oh and if you've never been there - you turn right off the road before the twin colossals and opposite a path that goes down to your left. (this is of course if you were heading north on the road)

In addition to Lucky's Comments, the Yeti can be found in Rage Scar Hold.

You can get there be going up a path on the right, near the cave on the map. No Yeti are in front of the cave, they are all above it.

i killed 7, and after skinning, and drops, i got all 10 after 7 kills. Easy exp

I killed about 20 of them and no drops. Wish I would have read the comment about only the 48s dropping them BEFORE I started. But then again stats show all of them dropping

Level 47s definitely drop them. I just got one.

I'm still only at 4/10, though... and I've been going at this for a while. Grr droprate.

Okay...the hardest part, I thought, was just getting to the path that leads up the hill to the cave. Level 47-50 beasts (gorillas, bears, wolves). Best and fastest bet for a 42-44 lvl is to just mount up and dash across. You might just make it. If you get killed...no biggie. You'll atleast make it across the valley. The rez point is close to Dire Maul, so it's not a terribly long run back to your corpse. (I ran on foot across the valley but a lvl 50 Gorilla chased and then ganked me at the bottom of the path.)

Once I got to the path that leads up the hill...I would just run up, shoot a yeti, and pull it about halfway down the hill and tank with pet. I'd pull back for range attack. Did this for every kill, having to go into the mine or above the mine is a myth. All of my kills were from Yetis on that first landing. Within 18 kills I had all the hides with Rage Scar Yeti's giving MOST of the drops. Skinning produced 7 of the 10 hides. Including two from both lvl 46 Rage Scar Yeti's that were taken. So, Yes, the 46s do drop to skinners.

Caution: At the top of the path to the first landing there is a small hill on the left. There is a 47 lvl Yeti on that hill and it rez's about every three minutes. So, be mindful if using this tactic to check to see if he's rez'd before running onto the landing for the next pull.

(Also picked up a Pristine Yeti Hide quest on the first kill. This quest you also take back to Pratt McGrubben in Feathermoon for additional 70s, but no exp or rep bonus.)

Lol, this drop rate is worse than thos damn naga scales (Against the Hatecrest).

ya, i killed about 50-60 yetis (lvl 46-49) each lvl dropped at least one for me. just takes a real long time.

NOTE: As you get closer to the cave, the Hides have a much better drop rate. the ones outside very rarely do

These are located at 51-31 or in a valley that enters just northeast of the road to the ferry landing ,,,,,,,the path into the valley is full of lvl 47 to 49's Gorillas,wolfs and bears ,,there is some raw meat laying on the ground to the east which marks the path to the cave,, once there Yeti's drops were fast,,,i killed about 18 to get my 10 and never neeeded to enter the cave,,,,some dropped 1 and then got another 1 skinning them,,they were all 46's and 47's......respawns are fast so you can find yourself in the middle of them if you work your way towards the cave,,,I choose a perch and pulled them to me

easy drop, drops almost every kill. PLUS, if you're doing this your more than likely a skinner/leatherworking, so when you skin you have an extra chance of getting another yeti skin. good quest!

Just thought I'd point out, these hides dont drop from the same area where you completed the previous quest. They drop in a place NW in Feralas and east of the road.

I was pretty successful- out of 14 kills, I received 8 skins: 3 from looting, 5 from skinning as well as the Perfect Yeti Hide. I never actually entered the cave because they spawned so fast, but I was at the cave mouth (52,31) and surrounding areas.

These things weren't dropping for me for the longest time, but the I got like 5 in a row. If you're having trouble getting these to drop, don't fret -- the karmic wheel will turn :p

Im doing this quest from a pure XP/ D/e the quest item standpoint, and i've killed about 50 yetis so far. havent gone into the cave, since they're level 49's in there, and i'm 47, and I dont want to get jumped like the only white boy in compton. But, if I could skin, i'm sure this quest would be so much faster, however i am getting tons of XP off these mobs, about 230 a kill, unrested, at level 47. Plus, the quest mane dropped, the "Perfect Yetti Hide" which will for sure add to my XP enjoyment.

What was said early on (and repeatedly) is correct. But I thought I could add some clarification. Because of the size and shapes of the coordinate blocks they can lead to confusion at times. There is a place where you have passed the path you needed to take but are in the 51.31 block. If you are standing in the valley at 51.31 and scatching your head go back a little ways towards where you entered the valley and snoop around for 51.33 and those pieces of raw meat on the ground. Then you'll be at the foot of the path that leads to the cave, presumable almost above where you were standing in the block and not seeing it.

So after killing 14. I had 2 furs.

Then i got 5 in a row on the next 5 kills.

RNG on these are weird. Stay hydrated. Posture Check. Don't give up.

I had 9 of these but it wouldnt let me loot the 10th, turns out if you have the Perfect Yeti Hide it counts as a Rage Scar Yeti Hide !, I turned in the Perfect Yeti Hide quest and I could then loot the 10th Rage Scar Yeti Hide.
