These worg pups used to be one of the only combat PVP pets in the game doing 1 dmg hits to other faction players. However they could also be killed by AoE or DD. This was later taken out. A personal favorate of mine all my charactors have this pet.

This vanity pet now makes sounds like a normal Wolf (Orc) mount when pressing space bar. All you have to do is click on the Worg Pup. One of the best vanity pets in the game.

Soloed this with my 70 warrior one day when i was board.You have to be very patient when doing it.Some of the 'sneak-bys' require you to come very close to mobs.I aggroed a whole room twice I think. Also might as well get the Smolder Web quest as you have to go through that room to get to the worg pups. Def. worth it,I love my pup.

Got my worg pup last night after having wanted one since forever.

This pet is, in my opinion, THE coolest non-exculsive, non-rare pet, and it's one of the bigger white quality pets that I've seen. It looks great with a Shammy in travel form, and Hunters with wolf pets :)

This is one of the least seen pets at endgame of all pets that I have personally witnessed; and yet it is the only dog pet. So many people ask for a 'puppy' or a 'dog' vanity pet and this is one, most don't get it because finding a group for Blackrock Spire can be tricky. In fact, most prot paladins, mages, and druids can solo it. Do you really want it? Ask somebody in your guild or something.

This pet is obtainable by rogues as well by use of stealth. Halycon is a boss in Lower Blackrock Spire; the majority of the pups you capture for the quest is found near the boss. It is possible to catch one after the boss, while in combat, or without aggroing the boss.

This is one of the best Non-Combat pets in the game, and I've wanted one ever since. The Worg Pup can come out in 2 different colors: Black and Brown. You have to complete the quest Kibler's Exotic Pets from Kibler in the Burning Steppes. He will ask you to get a Bloodaxe Worg Pup in Blackrock Spire that is a dungeon, but trust me; It's worth it. Also if you click on him, he makes the noises of a Wolf.

I will also like to inform you that there is a bug where the pups footprints are big, despite his small stature, but don't worry; This will only happen in zones that have a sandy terrain, like Tanaris.

First try, i kill them all before realising i needed to cage them
Second try, same scenario i think i'm not fully awake yet
Third try, my seed of corruption accidently hit the boss in the room and all his pups, killing them instantly
Fourth try, same scenario, it wouldn't have happened if my voidwalker didn't go berserk and jenkins into the boss room for some reason

On to my 5th try, hopefully i got everything covered now

Farming runecloth so it doesn't hurts :p
I hate getting past those spiders though, there are always so many :(

i picked up the quests and solod LBRS as a lvl 70 ret paladin and got both pets.They both are really cool pets and not many people have them anymore. i suggest getting them.

you cannot do the quest to get the pet if you are hated by booty bay, the npc will just attack you

This has always been my favorite vanity pet in the game.

It's a shame wowhead now says the pet is unobtainable, especially since it wasn't on the list of mounts/pets that would become unobtainable.

This item just dropped off of Quartermaster Zigris. not sure if the drop rate is different.

PS. also got Smoulderweb egg from Mother Smoulderweb, the replacement for the smoulderweb carrier.

EDIT: it is bop, and so is the smoulderweb egg from the spider boss.

EDIT: confirmed to drop off Quartermaster 100% 3 runs, 3 drops.

Yes, this pet is still available! Just got it from Zigris a few minutes ago. I am so excited. I was heartbroken that I would never be able to get this pup, who is a perfect example of my hunter's beloved Worg pet. It's a bit of a sappy story in my mind, really: his Worg companion represents his Worgen love, who he cannot be with for obvious reasons. I think it's so sweet that it looks like she's got a puppy now :) My favorite mini-pet in the game!

Confirmed drop. I took of a video of it as proof. As you can see in the video I got turned around somehow and had to take a shortcut. Thank the gods I was 85 though. lol

It droped for me yesterday when I was boosting few guildies, today I went there second time to get the companion for myself and guess what, there it was :)

So, you can still have this companion, it even seems a 100% drop.

This pet may have been taken out of the game, however now drops in Lower Blackrock Spire. Inside LBrS you'll come across a rare spawn with "quartermaster" in his name and upon defeating/looting this guy is your shot at the pet. I picked this pet up May 8 2011.

It's soulbound.

Once again, another confirmation that Quartermaster Zigris drops Worg Carrier. Since I knew the way around, helped run a guildie through this place on Oct. 4th, 2011. I was on a level 70 DK and had virtually no problems, even with several rooms full of mobs attacking at once.

Don't forget to kill Mother Smolderweb and get Smolderweb Egg on your way up as well.

Edit: just watched the above linked video and would like recommend it as the fastest route to the Quartermaster. Good stuff.

How do you know what color you're going to get? Will it be the same color as the one I caught? I caught a brown one but I want a black one, I'm wondering if I should abandon quest and catch a black one?

You can obtain this quest at level 55. I have heard that it is deep in blackrock spire but I also heard you can do it in a raid. And, I am wondering the answer to that question about color too.

im on ALLYANCE and i have this quest. i only came to the page about it to see where to find it in the instance. i was shocked and happy to find out it attacks too! or at least it did. it is cute, and im looking forward to finishing this quest when i get a group together.

I want this pet a lot. Sadly, it ruins the fun a tiny bit knowing that the Alliance get it too. Its sad how the Alliance get pets that only they can get, but almost every pet the Horde can get, Alliance can too. But, nonetheless this pet still looks cool and im hoping to get one once i get to the level. I am glad that the Horde do get some pets that the Alliance cant get by doing Childrens Week.

I went there and soloed it as a lvl 55 rogue...I have a 70 druid there named sverlick...but I didnt need him...I had him there as backup...but luckily I only aggroed 1 mob and vanished. so its not that hard...go out and try it yourself...www.playthingofthegods.com has a really good guide to doing it...among other things...but ne who hes really cute...(changes colors) which I dont like too much...but its ok...so go out and enjoy =)

it does change colors, i know ive seen 2 diff ones, maybe 3, but at least 2. havent tried this in pvp but it sounds cool. 55 rogue stealthed in and got this. i do have 5/5 mod and nightscape boots and only died cuz i opened an egg sac and they killed me, but i only had to use vanish once and that was after i captured the pup.

it is in blackrock spire, i solo it, it was hard as hell when your a warrior. i am lvl 70 and died 6 times but who cares, he`s so cute^^

Just got it solo with my 70 warrior.

After you've jumped down to all those tents, use invisibility potion and stop before those "burning mage's" standing close by the spiders. Wait until the invisibility potion cooldown is finished and use it again, you ONLY have to use this to get PAST the MAGES!
Wait until the potion fades then smoothly go past the spiders (easily done without invisibility), you just need to wait for the right path.
The just continue the way, you don't need more pots.

NB: Video just shows the path to go, you DON'T have to be a stealhted class to do it. It is easy with any class as long as you are level 70.

I submitted a collage of all three colors the worg puppy comes in, so you can see. Each time you click your carrier, a different colored pup comes out. So either that carrier is HUGE, or the puppy is some sort of magical chamelion dog. Either way, I think he's great!

Not That i really caer so much of the color over the wolf-ness, there seem to be multiple colors, like black and this red/brown one. Can anyone point out others? Sorry, im just really into the arctic thing. :D

i got mine tonight :D Have summoned it twice and both times it was black.. il keep an eye on him to see if he appears as the shade of brown ...pretty cute though if u have a wolf mount, put your mount on walk (/) and walk around with your Worg Pup in toe! lol

The Worg Pup no longer changes color when released from its carrier, I believe it now stays the normal Black. The changed it whenever they changed the Son of Hakkar color swaping glitch/trick.
