Land's End Beach must be the most useless area in the entire game.

Can anyone tell me why, other than the achievment, you would want to go there? Any quest I missed?

To discover Land's End Beach for this achievement you only need to swim down the coast to about (64,73). That's where you'll discover the zone - then you can turn around a go home.

Land's End Beach is actually a pretty cool place. It's the very edge of Kalimdor and if you look to the south of the very corner you can see islands you can actually go to. Mind you the fatigue will kill you before you get to them if you're not healing yourself or if you can get yourself there fast enough.

Land's End Beach useless? Mate, it's a grinder's wet dream! ± 80 "Surf ^&*!@#" turtles, ranging from lvl 48-50. Go there when your 45 and you can level all the way to 50 without seeing anyone (especially the opposite faction).

One run will yield 340 (avg exp) * 80 = 27200 exp. From lvl 45 to lvl 50 costs 793600 exp, so it should take approx 29 runs.

Plus, killing all 80 turtles will (theoretically) land you this loot (one run, 29 runs):

32 Big-mouth Clams - 928
32 Turtle Meat - 928
Skinning:
61 Thick leather - 1769 (=88 stacks)
40 Turtle Scales -1160 (=58 stacks)
16 Rugged leather - 464 (=23 stacks)
2 Thick hides - 58 (=5 stacks)

I've listed turtle meat for cooking (Soothing Turtle Bisque) and of course, the Big-mouth Clam gives you 928 Zesty Clam Meat, perfect for the world-class dish Clamlette Magnifique.

I rode with water walking to about 63,75 and got it, didn't have to go all the way down at all.

"Left"? Seriously? Get it together, people.

Starting past ~59,100, swim S/SE (South-Southeast). As you make your way S/SE past 59,100, your coordinates will no longer register, but you will also not yet be at the fatigue zone.

As an 80 rogue with preparation & the water sprint glyph, making my way past the fatigue zone was no problem. Sprint x2, & after that, only about 25 seconds of fatigue until you make it to safety. There is a northern island, then a goblin oil rig, followed by the southern island.

I hope Blizzard doesn't remove Easter eggs like these in Cataclysm.

Here's the story on the islands south of Land's End Beach. As part of the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain you will receive the quest Draconic for Dummies. You are tasked with finding a book on an island south of the crashed gyrocopter on Land's End Beach. The problem is the island is far away and you will die from fatigue if you try to swim there without any special abilities. Today, we have Elixir of Water Walking to make this easy but in the old days that item didn't exist. Instead, you were supposed to talk to a mermaid in the ocean near the gyrocopter, Meridith the Mermaiden, who offers you Love Song for Narain. If you complete that quest and return to the mermaid, she will grant you Siren's Song, which increases your swim speed by 150% for 3 minutes, enabling you to reach the islands before dying from fatigue. Once you get there, you search for the book in a dirt mound on the farthest island, only to discover someone has stolen it. Your adventure continues.

If anyone is looking for Land's End Beach all you need to do is head towards the little arrow-shaped piece of land jutting of from Tanaris on the south side east of the Valley of Watchers It's easier to fly around the mountains if you can fly. If you can't you might be able to walk around without swimming. Good luck!
