The Protectors of Hyjal is a daily quest obtained at the Sanctuary of Malorne in Hyjal. Just win a duel against someone in Sethria's Roost while on that quest and you've got yourself a shiny new achievement! The person you're dueling can be on the opposing faction and is not required to have the quest in order for you to get credit. While you're there, don't forget to do Have... Have We Met? since both can only be done while on that quest.

These achievements are just two of the many you'll need to get the title: "<Name> the Flamebreaker" from the meta-achievement Veteran of the Molten Front.

Edit: I should add that if you're doing, Have... Have We Met?, you can get credit by waving at NPCs that aren't following you (i.e. NPCs following other people on the quest). So technically, you don't have to be on the quest to get that achievement.

Just to be clear, only you need to be on the quest. Your duel partner (or should I say victim?) does not need to be on the quest.

how are you suppose to get this if when you try to duel somebody and you right click on their name, the "duel" option is grey(unclickable)?

Remember your opponent can just forfeit the duel right after it starts and you'll get the achievement. This way is better than actually dueling to the death with how dangerous the area is (especially on PvP servers).

This ach was incredibly easy for me. I dueled a ret pally but we quickly found out that our npcs duel as well, giving me the advantage as a tank. We decided before hand that the winner would throw the next duel. What made it hilarious was that (not knowing about /forfeit) even though my character did absolutely nothing, my npcs still almost beat him.

"Soloed" this with Sandstone Drake and trial account. The only problem it's phasing. But you do not have to duel in Sethria's Roost, enough to be somewhere in Mount Hyjal and to be on the quest.

make sure you pay close attention a giant i never even touched targeted me and thew a rock and killed me during the duel

If possible duel with some one who is not on the quest.

Someone tried to duel me, I didn't fight back but my druids did.

I just ganked a hord and won but didn't get the ach so maybe you do have to duel someone from your faction.

You do not need to be in Sethria's Roost to get this achievement. You also do not need to be in the Mount Hyjal zone when you start the duel. You only need to be in Mount Hyjal when you win the duel to get the credit.

So if you like doing things the hard way for kicks, you can bring an alt from a free-to-play account up to the entrance of Darkwhisper Gorge and duel him before you enter the phased area. Then you just enter the zone and have the alt forfeit. Of course, if you have a 2-seater flying mount, you can bring him all the way to the border of Sethria's Roost, but I was trying it with a ground mount.

At least until MoP hits*, this is the quickest, and easiest way to "solo" the Achievement..

1) Create a Starter Edition account
2) Open 2nd WoW Client up
3) log into the Starter Edition account
4) Create your duel target (mine was aptly named deletemenao)
5) Enter the game on this new character
6) On the other client, with your main (or whoever you want to get the achievement), go to a nice safe area in Hyjal that doesn't phase (i.e. Nordrassil)
7) Invite your future victim to a group (switch to other client to accept)
8) cast Have Group Will Travel (switch to other client to accept)
9) Once your future victim is in the zone, challenge them to a duel (switch to other client to accept)
10) Either make your starter edition toon forfeit, or if you're mean like I am, one-shot him.

Grats on your achievement!

*Starting with Mists of Pandaria, Have Group, Will Travel will be removed from the game, requiring you to do things the hard way (the way mentioned below, by others)
