Things you can do to help get this achievement (Its perfectly possible with any group with heroic gear, did it with dk/priest/rogue/2 warlocks, not exactly optimal).

As soon as the event starts and you can move (click the valves fast!), jump OVER THE CEILING and start running towards the door. Youll move at a snails speed, but youll get far enough to avoid the fire and get straight to the boss.

On helix, just ignore the spiders completely. Tank can use some aoe to keep aggro, but just focus helix.

On machine mario part, just dont panic. The sparks spin at various speeds, but just dont get yourself killed. IF you fail and die, IMMEDIATELY release and start running back in and teleport to Ship Parts, youll be able to join the group for the last part.

When the 3rd boss is going down on Ripsnarl, have one of your group (tank/healer) move to vancleef when the mob starts going low, ready to pull as soon as she spawns. It doesnt matter if you wipe, you get the achievement when you pull her.

Good luck in completing this, it is entirely possible without an optimal group as long as you keep active. Still easier than Headed South as well (without DK cheese).

Another gimpable achievement. If you speed to the wargen packs, you can let the wargen kill the npc and then run abck and teleport to ship. Vanessa will be waiting.

Do normally untill worgen nightmare, then rush to the top to the boat, let the event fail, u all will die, but ur soulstoned person will ress up, pull the boss and u will get ur achievement

If you fail, you can leave the instance for 30min and it will soft reset. All of the trash respawns, but so does the note. You can just clear the trash you need to get through and try it again the same day.

Here's a quick cap of things that will help you majorly in completing this achievement:

Having a warlock or shaman you can just mount up on Ripsnarl and run up to vanessa, wait for the NPCs to die and you all will be killed. Vanessa will spawn after ~5 seconds, and if you ankh/SS up you can pull and get the achievement. This way you save the time of killing all mobs in the last nightmare, and that's ALOT of time. I'd say you need about a minute to handle this from the moment you mount up, and you will probably even have a bit more than that as long as you all make it through the earlier nightmares alive.

If you are a blacksmith, engineer, rogue, or simply can open a lock in some kind of way, you will not too suprisingly be able open the locked door that's right before Ripsnarls nightmare, the elecric one. This is great to know, since most deaths occur during the lightning part. When or if you die, you just release, run in and port to "ship parts", run back to the door and open it up allowing any dead members to dps the boss and then hastily move on towards next boss without much time wasted at all.

If you can make use of the bug where you simply let the NPCs on ripsnarl die to later ankh/soulstone up and pull vanessa you will have "plenty" of time, so this following tip could be avoided since it's better to play safe when you got the time on your side. If you want to do it the pure and awesome way however, you may also want to jump down the ledge as soon as the first nightmare start, then face the door and run straight toward it. There's a pretty wide road right about there that's safe. And most of the time you can even make it to the boss before any fire spawn. It's very much recommended to do this with a group that feels 'secure' in jumping down in this manner. It's very easy to learn where the fire wont be, we're talking about a pretty large area.

Good luck fellas, this achievement is a pain, but there are ways to overcome it.

I would strongly suggest that you do this "the right way", it just ads so much more to the satisfaction of completing this otherwise quite hard achievement.

Big tip for those having trouble making it in time: You don't have to run all the way down in the start with the fires. You can just jump off the edge where you end up after clicking the "levers" or whatever, and run to the door before the fires spawn.

When you enter the worgen area, and after killing the 2 packs with 3 worgens, have your healer run all the way to the top and engage vanessa as soon as the worgen miniboss is dead.

Easy way to do this is to have a rogue with you and take the transporter to the ship right after you kill the goblin boss, have elixir of water walking, shaman, dk, or priest, walk across the water rogue can pick the door open, and bam boss at the end of mario is just standing there. Other than that is all on your dps to kill stuff fast enough.

In my opinion, the easiest way that requires no tricks at all is to roll 4dps 1tank.

I went ret and we smoked this achievement with about 20 seconds left the first try.

This is how we did it easily:

Step 1. Right after you are freed from the cauldron jump down ASAP, this way you get to the first boss before the fires even spawn.

EDIT: Since 4.0.6. it might not be best idea to jump down asap, because the fires spawn now much faster in the start, so you can't reach first boss before the fires come anymore.

Step 2. Kill the the boss normally, make sure your tank keeps kiting it away from frozen spots.

Step 3. Kill Helix normally, bunch up and nuke just boss while ignoring the adds (We used Heroism / Bloodlust here).

Step 4. Wait till the spinning electronic things spawn before you start moving. Then just move carefully to the Reaver boss. After the reaver boss is dead you should have around 2 minutes left on timer.

NEXT follow either a or b.

Step 5. a. If you have Shaman or Warlock, tell them to either use Ankh or Soulstone (Make sure shamans Ankh is off CD) and after the 3rd boss is dead and the last nightmare starts tell the Shaman or Soulstoned person mount and run to the ship, were the Vanessa is.
Step 5 b. Simply do not save the next NPC and wait till you guys wipe, this is a slower way to do it.

Step 6. a. Make sure you don't save the NPC, then you will be wiped and then DO NOT RELEASE. After the wipe shaman or soulstoned person should self-ress and then simply walk to the Vanessa. Achievement completed!
Step 6. b. Assign someone to ress asap after the wipe, walk back in, use the teleporter to the ship and simply engage Venssa. Achievement completed!

P.S. If you fail first time, you can simply wait 30 minutes and come back again and all of the trash will be back and the Vanessa letter will be there.

I was wondering if we would still get the achievement if after killing the reaper, we let the worgen die, and so all the group dies, we can just run back in, use teleporter and voila instantly almost in front of the boss.

IMPORTANT:

If you decide to soft-reset the gauntlet event (by exiting the dungeon and waiting 30 minutes), make sure you re-clear all of the trash starting from Reaper's room (the second portal option) up to the ship.

Even though the gauntlet is a phased event, the trash in the robot room will still be alive and active during the fire/ice phase if you do not kill it. We found out the hard way, causing a wipe. We didn't see the electric room, but there's a pretty good possibility that all of that trash will still be active, too.

Did it a really cheesy way, after Helix Gearbreaker use the teleporter to the ship and get someone to lockpick the door asap, completely avoiding the lightning room.

I had trouble finding a lock,shammy or rogue. So instead we let someone die intentionally to lightning when reaver boss was at 10% hp, combat ress him and only accept after the party wiped on worgens. Works the same as ss and ank. Not sure if normal ress will work though.

Another way to "skip" the mario gauntlet is to send a pet to pull back to the foundry room (/target foe), with the rest of the group waiting. You have to move a bit ahead (next to the first sparks is enough) for the pet to actually see and be able to attack it. Once it's dead, you can still make it to the door before it opens.

A very easy way to get this done is to rush through all of the obstacles until you reach the worgen phase. At that point, let the worgens kill the first girl. You all die from failing the event, run in, teleport to the 'Ship Parts' and engage Vanessa. Saves a lot of time and it works.

This achievement sounds hard.. but it really isn't.

This is how i did it:

Had a group with 2/5 that never done this instance before. So i was already kinda sure that i wouldn't get that achievement..
So i tought by myself, im gonna test something. I play a shaman and when we killed the Foe Reaper (During the nightmare encounter), we had 1 minute left, i just mounted up and ran to the end, the NPC died and caused an explosion so people die.. I ankht quickly, and shot vanessa, <Achievement earned> and even had 25 seconds left on the timer.

So far it still works and like this, it only costs you a nice repair bill!

Apparantly after 4.0.6 it seems that the fires on the very first phase appear immediately after the gauntlet starts instead of after a 20-30s delay. So if you choose to jump down as soon as you're free from the "hanging-over.the-cauldron"-phase then you need to be very careful about where you land. It's still faster to jump down, just not as fast as it used to be.

As of Feb 12, 2011, Blizzard has fixed many of the hacks that are listed in this page, teleporting down to skip any nightmare doesn't work... and if they fixed that, i'm guessing they also fixed the SoulStone / Ankh trick... will get back there in 30 minutes to confirm.

just got this achievement and this is how did it in 4.0.6:

1) release from ropes at beginning, run down ramp avoiding fire and jumping near the bottom of the ramp... avoid fire and blue circles and nuke 1st boss
2) ignore spiders and nuke second boss
3) dont get hit by spinning lightning and nuke 3rd boss (blow cd's here)
4) shaman ghost wolfed and ran to where vanessa spawns, let the adds kill the first 'victim', everyone wipes, shaman ankhed and instantly engaged vanessa with 13 seconds left
5) BOOM got the achievement

notes:
no one can die otherwise it takes too long
teleporter was fixed in 4.0.6 so this method doesnt work (the kill 2nd boss and teleport method)

so all in all this is how we did and we all were ecstatic!

Just an FYI, wiping on the gauntlet does not reset the timer anymore, vanessa will simply be waiting on top of the boat.

We did this legit all three times we've had to do it. We had a shaman ready with stand, but once we got to the worgen, we had over a minute and a half left, which was plenty for our DPS. We jumped down over the edge just after the first fire patch on the right and healed up quickly for those who didn't have slow fall.

We killed the first two sub-bosses with no one getting hit by fire or ice or stupidly aggravating the spiders. We then quickly ran through Mario land with those who could bubble doing so (pally, priest, etc.). We killed the third sub-boss quickly and all that was left was to take out the worgen.

Our plan was to let the shaman ghost wolf and run up so he could stand after the wipe like the method described above, however we decided on the fly to just kill the worgen quickly. We made it to Vanessa with 20 seconds to spare.

Play it smart with no deaths, some lower raid level dps, a smart run through the rotating lightning, and you'll get this with no tricks. Save CDs for the worgen gauntlet if you do so.

Not a really, really hard achieve, though certainly one of the more difficult ones. Here's how I found it easiest as a mage, though similar strategies should work for other dps classes. As soon as you take the debuff, check the time on your clock. You'll need to engage Vanessa VanCleef within 5 minutes of being afflicted with the elixir. Keyword engage. You don't need to defeat her before that time, otherwise this achiev would be near impossible. Get through the gauntlet with as few deaths as possible and get to the dock. You'll want to burn the wolves down fast, and dps Ripsnarl until you have around 30 sec left or until he is at 25-50%, at which point pop a lust to help your group burn him down faster or defensive CDs to keep you alive, then leave the other dps, tank and healer to handle him. Ripsnarl doesn't have much health so this shouldn't be a problem. Run up top and grab the boss. If you timed it correctly, you're still alive, Ripsnarl is dead, your tank is right behind you to pick up the boss, and you have your shiny new achievement. If you didn't time it correctly.. Well, you just have a very upset tank and healer. ;)

Didnt see it specifically mentioned while i was scanning through the comments but:
Having a rogue pick the locks on the doors can save quite alot of time!
If you note when she speaks, the door will stay closed for about 15 to 20 seconds, picking both locked doors really speeds it up! giving you 30-40 extra seconds!
Also on the final incarnation of Ripsnarl (when he is holding his wife by the throat) ranged DPS dont need to run up the ramp, they can stop at the bottom deck and nuke him from there, he doesnt aggro anyone, but his wife!
The tank should be at the top before he is down, anyway leaving the tank free to run to vanessa and aggro her!
If your healer needs a MB you can just wipe it after everyone gets the achievement! :)

Heyy did this today my group did this as normal but as the last part doesn't really require any healing i ran up ahead and activated vanessa as the rest of the group downed the worgen near the top of the boss (and then ran like hell to my tanky tank xD)

Just thought may be a useful note for anyone else going for this achieve xD
