Rated Bg's are a new experience in cataclysm pvp season. Players are asked to team up every week in random 10 or 15 player teams and queue for the correspondant BG of those sizes.

Once you are in, wining grants you a fair amount of conquest points and some boost in personal rating.
Personal rating is used to get pvp titles and achievements. and Conquest points, which have a weekly cap, are granted to purchase the top pvp gear of this season.

While random bg's are kinda , that, random, expect to find much more suitable players in it, so puggin a team in trade may not be a good idea. Instead players should make pvp guilds or experienced teams to overcome the challenge.

Truth is, blizzard expected to do a much bigger issue of the rated bgs than its currently now for players. so participation is kinda reduced and not very appealing to lots of players who find tedious to build a 10 or 15 man team and queue in raid in which you can't complete daily quests while you wait for it.

The maximum rank of this chain achievement is earning 300 victories which you will need a lot of dedication to achieve, given the low popularity of the rated bgs in some servers.

New PvP ground mounts, the Vicious War Wolf (Horde) and Vicious War Steed (Alliance), will be awarded to players for completing achievements to win 75, 150, and 300 Rated Battlegrounds respectively, rather than for being in the top .5% of the ladder at the end of each season as with Arenas. This award system is to better compliment the spirit of Battlegrounds. One account-bound mount will be awarded for each achievement unlocked, allowing players who obtain 150 and 300 Rated Battleground wins to earn this mount a second and third time. The additional mounts earned can then be sent to alt characters, given they’re account-bound. These mounts are awarded as soon as an associated achievement is unlocked and do not correspond with end-of-season rewards.

This achievement had the counter set to 0 with Patch 4.2. A fix (if possible) is being investigated by Blizzard.

Does anyone know if this achievement and its rewards are only for patch 4.2? Or is it going to be permanent throughout the game?

I wanna know if I should start hurrying to get the mount before 4.3.
