Just did this on live, we barely made the timer with no tank. 2x dps at 20k+ 2x dps at 12k+ and while healing i did 6.4k dps. The timer on this was very strict. We killed him as his energy rolled back over to 100.

For an actual strategy...

Either 1 tank 4 dps or 4 dps 1 healer. We did it with 1 tank 4 dps. DPS need to be at least 12k, tank around 5-6k. Bloodlust needed obviously.

Now, this fight has a bit of RNG. The boss has 100 focus, he use focus each time he use an ability (fire tornadoes, heroic leap, orb summoning, etc. Basically everything except auto attack). So the trick is to hope that he actually use abilities that can be interrupted, so he doesn't lose focus on abilities that can't be interrupted. Also, if you interrupt one of his ability with Counterspell, he will not lose any focus for 8 seconds (since he's interrupted for that long). Interrupts recommending are Counterspell, Shield Bash and Spell Lock (from a felhunter).

Another trick is to tank him in the corner of the room, so he spend more time walking to the middle to begin recharging. Position yourself accordingly so you don't lose dps time moving.

Note: to get the achievement, you simply have to kill him before he totally complete his AoE when he's charging. It's very easy to see, he gain a buff when he recharges. If that buff runs out, you've failed the achievement.

We had it hardly, 4 dps 1 heal (MK-lock-enh sham-uh dk-holy pal) kick all spells and use BL Intelligently, we used it at 10 foca, (we was still on us)
There was almost nothing HP in time grants

Got this achievement very easily using the following strategy, not even bloodlust is needed:

We kited the boss all the way to the middle of the stairs (he resets if you kite him further), kept interrupting his casts until he hit low energy.

As soon as he started moving, all our dps used a swiftness potion, giving us ten more seconds of dps time before he reaches the middle and starts channeling.

Setup:

Prot war
Feral druid
Muti Rogue
Frost DK
Holy priest

Healer just healed, tank stayed in tank spec + gear

We got the boss down before he even recharged half of his energy this way, and none of our damage dealers had even close to 20k dps.

Killed it after about maybe 10 energy regen, so plenty of time.

Group comp: ret pally tank, destro lock, frost mage, feral druid and holy paladin. Used lust when he had around 20 focus left, tanked him near the wall. Failed and missed the achievement by literally ~ 1 second. All of our dps was sitting at ~17k dps... pure RNG fail.

Update: Got the achieve a couple days ago. He needs to cast at least 2 spells that you can interrupt in order to do it. If he doesn't use two abilities with cast times then just reset him. This achievement is not really about high dps. When we got the achievement he actually used 3 abilities that we were able to interrupt. Our grp comp was a paladin healer, destro lock (20k dps), affliction lock (myself 17k dps), mage (17k dps), and a druid tank (10k dps). We popped hero @ around 20 focus left, after we interrupted his third cast. Waiting till the very end of the cast to interrupt and tanking him in the corner of the room will give you the most dps time in phase 1. Good luck.

Tried it a couple of times with tank and healer, but we failed it a lot with an average dps 12K. Even tried to tank the boss at the stairs to get us more time, but nothing happened.

So we got our flasks and potions, buffed up and gave it a shot with four dps and a healer. What we planned to do was burn the boss down quickly, in such way that the dps tanking will not get that much damage. The setup was: Fury Warrior (tanking), Elemental Shaman, Fire Mage, Frost (PvE) Mage and Holy Paladin.

Popped hero at start, interrupted all casts. After 43 seconds, the boss was at 25% and with zero focus. At that time it was already too late for him to go regenerate! Killed him at his 65% focus while regenerating.

Wasn't that hard. Interrupt the casts as often as possible, ensures he stays in the first phase long enough, as he retains energy if the interrupt is successful.

We got him down to about ~40% before he went to cast this aoe. We all burned any DPS cd's we saved at this time and quickly went to 0%. We easily had 5-6 seconds left before he would fill his energy. Disc priest power infused the spriest.

Spriest 18k, Lock 18k, Ret 16.5k, tank 8k, priest 3k.

Ezpz achievement.

All you need is 65k group dps including the regen phase.

We interupted everything and tanked him near the center to avoid losing dps time when he runs to the middle to regen because we had a melee heavy group. Lust at 30-40 energy and pop all your CDs during the regen phase. We also had our paly healer go dps for the fight.

Just did this today with this setup

Surv Hunter 18k dps
Ret Pally 16k dps
Elemental shaman 16k dps
Prot Pally 9k dps
Holy pally 0.5k dps

Our first try he used Inferno Leap first of his interuptable spells so we had to wipe, though our second try he casted Fire Orb first so we let him cast it, then interrupted Inferno Leap, interrupted his 2nd Fire Orb which gave us the longest possible time before he goes into recharge phase. We popped hero right when we interrupted his 2nd Fire Orb and we literally made it with a millisecond to spare before he was done in his recharge phase.

With the group I did this in it all seemed to be about blind luck with the RNG as a lot of comments above said. We went through a few attempts interrupting every cast he did and we'd take him to about 65% before the recharge phase each time. The attempt where we killed him and got the achievement, his first cast was the orb and we let him cast it. He then casted two more spells after that which we were able to interrupt and buy us more time to DPS. We got him close to 50% before the recharge phase and we knew we had it.

My advice is just persist with it. Even if you're only getting him to 70% before the recharge this achievement is still very doable, just not on that attempt. A lot of it is just based on luck.

An easy achievement, you need to interupt Conjure Flaming orb and Inferno leap in order to keep his energy up
tank it to the middle where he will cast his aoe that lasts about 20 seconds when his energy goes down to 0.
You dont need a healer just have ur tank wearing some dps parts using his cooldowns to stay alive nor bloodlust needed
if all of ur dps have 10 - 15 k

While he casts his AoE he will start recharging energy 5 per second or so if his energy reaches 100 again and he is not down you lose your achievement. Even though the aoe phase lasts a little bit longer than a full recharge.
The AoE he will do will propably kill you if you receive any avoidable damage during phase 1

Inferno leap : costs 20 energy
conjure flaming orb : costs 20 energy
you save about according to his casts 60 energy by interupting earning more time to dps him before he goes recharging.

he will use an non-interuptable instant spell that spawns a fire cyclone which costs 30 energy each.

DK as a tank or dps is a usefull opinion due to his army of the dead which is a dps boost and a taunting race between 15 ghouls that will save ur tank from getting any damage.

Bloodlust makes it easy mode but not really needed if you dont have a shaman or a mage or a beastmaster with core hound still give it a try with some good dpsers and a proper tank.

Did this last night with some guys from my guild. Group makeup was:

Prot Warrior – 6k dps
Combat Rogue – 16k dps
Unholy DK – 15k dps
SV Hunter – 23k dps
Holy Priest (although Shadow for this fight) – 9k dps

I was playing the priest and DPSed until about halfway through the recharge phase where I started spamming PoH to keep the rest of the group alive. The boss did two interruptible casts and we made it with literally milliseconds to spare. If we’d had Heroism then this would have been a piece of cake.

We also tanked the boss in the corner of the room to give us a few more precious seconds when he goes to recharge.

We popped hero + cd's at start and tried to interupt everything.
Tanked the boss in the middle no need to tank him in the corner..
We downed him within the first few seconds of the recharging phase.

Such a terrible RNG achievement. My static group just did this after a couple dozen tries, mostly just resetting because he would only cast 1 spell that was interruptible. Our last attempt we decided we would risk killing him because one of us had to leave, and we just BARELY got it. In fact, he reached 100 energy about a second and a half before we killed him, all of us moaned until he died when we saw the achievement, then cheered.

we're all ilvl 344-346, and we know our rotations, we used cds during double damage, so I don't know where people are pulling these 30k rogues from unless they're full 372 which I doubt... we did not have lust though

Can someone answer on my question about this achiv becouse I cant find answer anywhere?
Everyone of u write that you must kill him at first regeneration phase and they say the same thing at guides.... When im simply doing this dungeon with pug we usually kill him after second regeneration phase.

Do I have to kill him at first regeneration phase to get this achiv or can I simply nuke him to 15% and wait for another regeneration phase and than using bl and other stuffs kill him?

We have done it with just 3 DPS and at first try. Got very lucky with casts as he did 3 or 4 orbs. Tanked him at corner of the room the have more time. DPS was 23k,14k,13k, 5k as tank and 2k as heal.

If you're doing this with 3 DPS, here's an easy method. Be sure all three of your DPS are capable of 10k+ DPS on a normal fight.

1. Pull him to the top of the stairs.
2. Save cooldowns for now.
3. DPS and interrupt orb/leap.
4. If you get him below 50% health and he still has 40+ focus, you win. Blow Heroism/Lust, all your cooldowns, and burn him.
5. If he drops below 40 focus, and still has over 50% health, reset and try again.

It may take 10-20 attempts, but eventually you'll get a pull with lots of orbs/leaps, and then it's a cakewalk. Just be patient and keep resetting.

Just completed this achievement with a group today and it was fairly difficult compared to the others in this instance. What we did was have the tank switch to his unenchanted/ungemmed dps set and had our healer stay heals and heavy heal the indicated tank (who now has dps gear on).

Couple problems we ran into was that the hunter/mage dps kept getting pushed too far and died.
If you have everyone (including dps tank) is pulling ~11k dps you should have a margin of error of 8 seconds assuming lust is used.

You can always just reset it if he finishes recharging to retry.

We did this in a two attempts. Our comp: Arms Warrior, Fire Mage, Blood DK, Destro Lock, and Boomkin. 16k, 15k, 13k, 8k, and 6k. We kited him to the edge of the room which gave us a bit more time to dps him down when he walked to do his aoe. Lusted at like 50% when he was still at about 40 energy and it gave us plenty of time to dps him down... We had a good 7 or 8 seconds left.

For your reference, I've just got this achievement a few moments ago with the following group setup and DPS:

Recount - DPS for Last Fight

This is based on the entire fight. The damage done statistics are roughly the same (percentage wise), but now you've got an idea of what it might take. Remember, though, that these numbers are affected by the increased damage done to the boss in the crucial phase.

Did this today with only 1 interrupted spell so he burned through his focus rather quickly.

Dps was as following
Shadow Priest 24k dps, 32,9% damage
Fury Warrior 21,7k dps , 30,7% damage
Tank DK 13k dps, 18,7% damage
Boomkin druid 12k dps, 15,4% damage
Resto shaman 1,6k dps, 2,3% damage
Total of 72,3k dps

So it is very much possible to do this even if you get unlucky on his spells if you got some decent dps.

Got this the other day with a normal group composition of 1 tank, 1 healer, 3 DPS. Just wanted to throw it out there that it's not required to go 4 or 5 DPS to do this, though it would certainly make it easier. (We weren't even trying for the achieve, we just had a really good group lol.)

I've completed this ach in two toons, my shaman a while ago and warrior tonight. We didn't really use much of a strat, just popped lust with 20 focus remaining and burned as hard as we could the whole time. We had two dps doing 22k+ over the fight with the third around 14k so it was quick. Tonight we did it again on my warrior and it was rougher due to lower dps. Our three dps ranged from 17k - 19k. Lust at 40 focus and I tanked him in a far corner so that he had further to walk to begin his recharge cycle.

RNG is definitely a factor as, in theory, you could get him well past 50% health before he runs out of focus or he could still be at 70% just due to using uninterruptable abilities thus draining him more quickly of his focus.

We had two DKs in the group and we considered using two armies at the start to "tank" while I went Fury for additional dps (single target prot warrior dps is meh). We got it with a traditional setup so it didn't seem to matter. I suppose an "ideal" setup might include a disc priest to Smite/Atonement heal and at least one DK for army or even a hunter for a pet. He really doesn't hit all that hard to you don't need a "real" tank for the first phase.

blew cooldowns and everything we had dps wise during the recharge phase and nuked with ~35 energy to go!

completed this achievement today with a pug. group composition: mage, rogue, boomkin, dk tank, priest healer. both the tank and the healer spec'd dps and we tanked the boss in the corner of the room. we interrupted anything we could and blew all of our cooldowns when he migrated to the centre of the room and started his aoe recharge ability. defeated rahj on the first try with the achievement and with everyone still alive.

We managed to complete this achievement using a DK tank with 12K dps, a super bursty 20K dps ret pally, a resto shaman, a pro face busting 22K dps arcane mage, and a fail 5k dps hunter who just wanted a free ride to the achievement. We only got to interrupt one ability, so we really had to push it during the recharge phase.

Since you gain 100% damage increase on Rajh during this phase, and the phase lasts 20 seconds, its important to try and gauge some time before this ability starts (hard to say, since he can start walking to the middle anytime between 0 and 10 energy). We got lucky and timed it perfectly so we got a good amount of time-warp running before he started walking. We tanked him on the edge of the star so he'd walk further. Once he started casting the recharge, we blew our 20 sec damage CDs, and we were able to take full advantage of these AND time-warp. It was flawless and a best case scenario type situation, but we downed him at 95 energy, so it was close, despite our decent dps.

But the result was that we downed him with good ol' fashioned pew pew pew, and one good interrupt. No tricks, no luck, we just broke his face (and our fingers) to get it.
