Oh god: so, so many ill-informed people.

This year's Noblegarden (easter) event will last a whole week as of patch 3.1.0, instead of just one day. Eggs will be found in the lvl 5 towns, and only there. This means Goldshire, Dolanaar, Kharanos and Azure Watch for the Alliance, and Razorhill, Brill, Falconwing Square, and Bloodhoof Village for the Horde. Eggs will always be present in these areas, so if you can't find one, it doesn't mean you're unlucky with the respawn timers, it simply means you are a jolly bad egg hunter.

This information is from the previous PTR and is confirmed by blue posts.

Anyone know if eggs stack in inventory? How many chocolates to a stack?

Eggs don't stack. Chocolate stack up to 20 in one slot.

For Horde on eggs:
Tried finding eggs in all four horde towns and it seems that Falconwing Square is best for people who have trouble finding eggs if they're too well hidden but have fast reactions once they've spotted one. The area is quite small and most of the eggs, with the exception of some under the chairs around the fountain, are out in the open.

Bloodhoof on the other hand is best for those who have a keener eye but keep missing the eggs because someone with 1ms rushed to it before they could. The eggs there are better hidden, mostly under planks around buildings or behind trees, although not incredibly tough to find and there's usually less people looking as well.

Razor Hill has too many people, most likely because it's the closest to Orgrimmar.

Brill is good for those who are very lucky. Most of the eggs are behind the many buildings in the town, and the usual scenario is that a person runs around the corner to see that someone else has already looted the egg a second before.

They were spawning in Terrorkar Forest as well.... not as frequently or in as much bulk as the starter towns, but definatly some there, wouldnt put it past blizz to have some in every zone!

For the Horde: Bloodhoof village is a great place to find the eggs. The trick is to not sit and wait on one egg, but to run around. By running around you have a better chance of picking up the eggs that the spawn campers are missing. Equip your basket and use it when it's cooled down for maximum egg hunting.

Start behind the bloodhoof inn, in the boats. Check in th crates and prow of both boats, then run to the back of the inn and look under the large boat looking item. Then, as you face the inn, run up the right side, checking on either side of the wooden beams, and in the spots where they meet up. Also check under the watering trough, as one sometimes spawns there.

Run past the front of the inn towards the large tent with the druid trainers. There's going to be 2 NPC's standing around a pole, and 3 eggs can spawn there. one behind a woven rack, one directly opposite the pole, and one in a clay pot.

Run up the steps of the druid training tend, checking to the right behind the totem pole for an egg, and to the left for one under a support beam. also look straight down and check for eggs hidden between the large wooden steps. Run around the edge of the tent, and check each of the three sets of steps. In some cases you can find 4 eggs hidden. Then, come down the first set of steps, checking the the totem pole and support, the other pole, and back down the inn, back to the boats. Repeat as necessary.

If you get tired of running this loop, start at the back of the inn, check the left side, check the small outbuilding, next to the inn (including the baskets in the front) and then go around the large hide tent that has the profession trainers. Check both the tent pegs and the support beam anchors for eggs, they can be hidden in both.

Alas, if only it only took one egg.

If, like me, you wanted to get all of the achievements - you will be screaming "I've got another one" another 400 or so times.

Note to self; kill the easter bunny...

You need to go in Goldshire / Kharanos / Dolanaar / Azure Watch.
When you're in one of the town listened you have to search an egg around the town.

I found the easiest place for finding eggs as a horde is to go to Falconwing Square and circle the fountain there. I got the companion, mount, bunny ears and outfits all within an hour (and alot of chocolates). I didnt have to purchase any of them. If you stay by the fountain and circle it you can get the ones in the water and under the benches. Since you don't hardly have to move much it's a really quick way to get the eggs before anyone else does since they spawn rather quickly. If you can try to go in the morning (or when there's not many people online), which is when I was able to do this.

The Brightly Colored Eggs are found spawning on the ground in the starter cities (Brill, Razor Hill, Blodhoof Village, and Falconwing Square for Horde, or Goldshire, Kharanos, Dolanaar, and Azure Watch for Alliance), with a lead-in 'breadcrumb' quest Spring Gatherers (Horde) or Spring Collectors (Alliance) from any of the main cities. Less populated towns may be preferable for farming Brightly Colored Egg to cut down on competition.

Opening Brightly Colored Egg provides a Noblegarden Chocolate, and a low probability chance at several other items needed to get the Noble Gardener achievement. As a result, those going for the entire Noble Gardener will be farming many, many Brightly Colored Eggs to get the required Noblegarden Chocolates!

While the Noblegarden Chocolate stack up to 250, the Brightly Colored Egg do not stack at all. Collectors may wish to make a '/use Brightly Colored Egg' macro to keep opening their eggs to avoid running out of bag space.

Where to farm? That is the question! Zones are mostly empty on the (Wrath) Classic servers and quite busy at Razor Hill and Goldshire on Retail. Each zone has its advantages and disadvantages for egg farming:

Horde:

Brill: Retail: Great variety of locations, most easy to find. A great place to farm. Wrath: Compact but the shrubbery is very heavily textured, making the eggs rather difficult to see as almost all the eggs are concealed in the bushes.
Razor Hill: Eggs are easy to see but you have a lot of running to do.
Bloodhoof Village: Some very devious / clever hiding of the eggs and a huge area to run around.
Falconwing Square: Compact and although attempts were made to hide the eggs, pnce you get a roll on you will zip through easily. Best for Horde!

Alliance:

Goldshire: Retail: Everyone comes here so respawns happen fast! No optimal route though. Classic: Eggs seem few and far between here.
Kharanos: Easy to see the eggs and your route will be a simple oval. A great location for Alliance, especially Classic!
Dolanaar: Eggs are mostly hidden in dense shrubs and there is a huge running area. Avoid!
Azure Watch: Compact, eggs are well hidden and there is no real optimal route.

Ideally you want a few other players with you as the respawns will come thick and fast and this situation is where Falconwing Square really shines. To see accurate maps (there aren't any here on Wowhead and indeed it is just not possible due to the imprecision of coordinates) I strongly suggest this AddOn by yours truly. It has almost every spawn point in every Classic and Retail zone too! Alliance? Toss-up between Goldshire and Kharanos with Goldshire shading it as its more social/fun.
