Im just wondering, as most people will be lvl 80 at this time.

Will Ahune still be level70?

or will be moved to another instance?

otherwise, he will be a lolgrindformysexystaff boss, and a quick achievment thing.

i hope blizzard really do move him to lvl 80 content.

So...Does this mean that this could take two years? It seems to me that you need to get BOTH tabards for this, am I correct? Merely curious is all.

Please note, all the criteria listed for this achievement are for the purposes of grandfathering in those who killed him LAST year- people who finished the quest, or got drops from him. You'll notice that on the Molten Core achievement, the criteria includes "One Of" Rag's entire loot table, thus proving you'd killed him before the game was watching for it.

Obviously, when the level 80 Ahune goes live, the game will be watching for the actual mob to die, rather than the player to recieve loot or turn in a quest.

If you have completed the Ahune Kill Quest (Shards of Ahune) during the Midsummer Event 2008, but destroyed the tabard you got as a reward (which is a criteria for completing this Achievement) to save inventory space or because you didn't like the looks, you can restore it at a Tabard Vendor, so you don't have to slay Ahune again during the Midsummer Event 2009 in order to get this Achievement.

Note that this wasn't possible before patch 3.1, so you might want to revisit your friendly Tabard Vendor if you haven't seen him for a while ;)

Also, if you have kept the tabard from the aforementioned quest, but prefer to have the other one, just destroy your current tabard - you'll have the option to restore either one. This might also help with the 25 Tabards Achievement.

Blizzard always delete such "rare" stuff wich not many people use. like mounts, titles and halloween kara pet and axe..
How come they wont remove this one? and the HH helm?
Not many people walk around with those items especially the tabard.
hate seasons where long time rare items gets too easy to get.

I had done this last year, but did not have the achivement completed. So I went and killed Ahune (normal), still no achivement. Then some guy in guild recommended to restore the tabard from the tabard vendor, and this did the trick.

I assume these two tabards only count as one for the 25 tabards achievement, like the Trophy Tabards of the Illidari. The trophy tabards used to count separately, and you could destroy yours and buy the other color from the tabard vendor to get another tabard counted for the achievement, but they later changed it so that if the achievement has counted either purple or green, it won't give credit for the other color.

Incorrect. I JUST did the quest for Trophy Tabards of the Illidari yesterday and got credit for the first one i got when i completed the quest, then i went to the tabard vendor in Dalaran and deleted my Purple one and chose the other one (Green) and i DID get credit for both.

So im assuming the same will be true for this. Im currently omw to go do this and i will report back after.

Edit: So after doing the quest for Ahune today and getting one of the tabards for the first time i was able to chose one and get credit for it, i then deleted it and chose the other one from the tabard vendor in dalran and got credit for that one as well. So you CAN get credit for both tabards

Soloed as lvl 80 feral druid.

Just keep killing the adds in bear form while avoiding the ice spikes beneath you and when Ahune retreats, dps him like mad in cat form. Took me 3 retreats to get him down.

There are various requirements to get the quest to summon him, like being level 65. But you do not need to actually have the quest to get achievement credit.

So all you need is to be level 55 and find a group willing to take you.

I tried to do this achievement but when ahune came i was not ready and tried to flee. While fleeing i got d/c and after i logged in again i couldn't summon ahune and there is no way to get the quest or the quest item again. Any suggestions plz?

@ Averel.......thats probably because you can only summon him once a day.

This needs to be clarified: Ahune can only be summoned once per person per day on normal mode. The totem used to summon him is consumed upon the summon and you cannot communicate with either NPC inside the instance again afterward. That means in a normal group you'll get 5 attempts (you can get more attempts by joining other groups with people who have the quest though). You can pick up the quest inside the instance again after dailies reset.

Do you have to be level 80 now in order to do this? Or is it just that you can use dungeon finder to do the boss?
I'm confused as the quest that drops after you kill the boss is only lvl 75. But my 77 Dk cant que for the boss.

just a heads up for any Frost dks out there this is very hard to tank as a frost dk it is doable but everything there is immune to all frost ablitys so be prepared to spam dnd deathgrip dark command and rune stike (if they ever melee u)
also blood boil may not pull much agro but it does help out a little =) hopfully i help someone wiht this post

this achievement is very easy these days. U can easily form a group by using the dungeon finder (takes me about 4mins as dps, random hc takes 10-15mins). Just select "The frost lord ahune" from the list and press "Find group".

U will also recieve 2 emblems of frost + chance for some extra loot (including ilvl264 BoE items!)

My question is: can you get the achievement below level 85? I was trying today to do it on lev 72 alt, I've completed the chain with Twilight mesage and I do have an option to "queue for frost lord" from Earthen Ring elder, but instead than queueing me for it it took me into random LK dungeon :(

You are able to get the title at all level above 10. ill post a pick of my 60 warr having it :D theres a trick you need to do on the looking for group tool. first have a group where are few mates of yours to join lfg tool. after they got group remove one of the players inv the alt you wanna do it whit and click teleport to dungeon :) hope it helps enjoy!

I just tried to que for this today. Went to the guy in SW to do it. Am lvl 81 mage and others in my guild have already done it. But instead of Ahune I got thrown into a Cat dungeon! Is there a glitch somewhere? Anybody else having problems?

You do not need to follow any quest chain to complete this achieve. Simply find a 5 man raid group, you will need tank and heals, and sign up for "The Frost Lord Ahune" using the Random Dungeon Finder

You MUST use the Random Dungeon Finder to enter Slave Pens or Lord Ahune will NOT be there.

He is relatively challenging for a level 85 mage + group. Adds alone are level 85 elites!

I just had a GM confirm that you must be 84+ to que for Holiday Boss this year. If you aren't it kicks over to random Cata dungeon.

There is a way around this to get the achievement for toons below the minimum level to be able to queue up for this fight. Been doing this since they first implemented the queue system.

You have to be high enough to enter the dungeon for it to work. Here's how:

Enter the dungeon with a friend. I dual box so I can do it that way. One of the the players will be leaving group at the beginning, before the pull. When you get in, don't start the fight. Make sure the toon that is going to remain in the group, is the group leader. Also, this is VERY IMPORTANT! The toon that is leaving group cannot be an important role such as tank or healer. You MUST queue as DPS because the fight can easily be handled w/ one less person. It's VERY likely your alt will die instantly, but you'll get the achievement.

Once in, leave the group, log on to your lvl 51 or whatever alt. Have the group leader (either your friend or your other account), get manually invited. Then the green dungeon "search eye" icon will appear, click it to port in. And you can kill the boss.

Note, you do NOT get the daily keg for the mounts or JP. You DO get credit for the kill, for the achievement, can roll on gear, AND the quest starting keg. I've done this for EACH holiday boss:

Love is in the Air boss is in NORMAL SFK, not heroic. If you go anywhere else in SFK, towards the end, the trash are all low level. Wowhead says lvl 11 can enter there. Average lvl is 16, at least by LFG's terms.

Midsummer, same deal. I think lvl 62 is the lowest to enter Slave Pens. Maybe more around 64.

Brewfest, low 50s to be able to enter.

Hallow's End, low 30s to enter SM Graveyard.

Remember, if you do it this way, just make sure the leader is someone who can manually invite you. Your toon who you queued up with, to reserve a spot, isn't an important role such as tank or healer. Also, if there is someone farming an item that they need, be kind and pass on it, even if you can use it....eventually. You are making them pick up the slack for your low level toon.
