Here's where and how you can find the foodstuffs:

Similarly to how the Winter Veil has had people flooding the AH with small eggs and gingerbread cookies, I can easily see those few who have learned how to make a Delicious Chocolate Cake turning a pretty penny with this achievement.

That is easily the most difficult item to obtain for this achievement, and since the cake is not BoP we'll see them showing up by the plenty in the AH. Unless of course the cooks on your server have been lazy and a) don't have the pattern yet, or b) simply haven't skilled up high enough to access the daily's that allow you to get the pattern.

Also if you're curious as to how rare this pattern is then I'll give you some numbers from Wowhead (which additedly are not the be-all-end-all, but it's a good reference point).

The sum of all the patterns of the cake that have been looted to date (again only pulled from Wowhead) is:

1141

That is taken from the three items that the cake's pattern can drop from: Crate of Meat, Barrel of Fish, Small Spice Bag.

And yes boys and girls, this is a requirement for For the Children, which is also a requirement for that pretty drake I've heard so many people declaring that they'll get.

May, but it varies when.

Just a thought i had and worth trying out since the cake is worth 17g.

You can buy the cake, set it out on the ground.

You can take slices, which are NOT soulbound and DO NOT have a timer.

So you could buy a cake, slice that bad boy up and mail it to your alts/sell on AH to unsuspecting noobs.

For all you alt-o-holics: You must be 75 or higher to complete this...look at the level requirements on the Dalaran Brownie, Lovely Cake Slice and Red Velvet Cupcake.

An even better Tip would be to just make loads of Delicious Chocolate Cake , and sell them for an omfg high price, because I am sure not all who want the title got the ability to make that cake ( me as example :D ). But I already bought it from a m8 dont want to pay the full price.. ( I suggest like 200g .. that is nothing for a title! )

I don't know what's worse, that someone would charge 200g for a food item that does nothing, or people who would pay that just to get an achievement/title. That's less than an hour of dailies I guess, but it's still ridiculous.

Which brings up a good point. Buy the cupcakes and cake now if you can, because once the event hits, you know prices will be up on the AH. Just round up the mats and tip someone 5-10g to make it for you.

Most of them are sold in stacks of 5 in Dalaran and at your Nagrand innkeeper as posted above. I reselled the 4 I had leftover on the auction house for a few g, and they were all sold within 30min.

So, dont vendor your leftovers, but make some extra cash out of it (or give them to guildies if they ask you where to get them).

It's kinda frustrating that in order to complete this achievement (and get the shiny drake) you need to be lvl 75, I could understand 70 (you gotta be able to fly) but 75 is just mean, I just bought wrath, and will not be able to hit 75 by the end of children's week. bugger.

You should be able to hit 75 in time fairly easily. I decided on Saturday that I wanted my shaman to be Matron MamaMorton. It was 69. As of Monday evening, it's 74 (I only played for a couple hours on Sunday). I didn't need to stay glued the computer but I avoided group quests and instances entirely:) If nothing else, complete one set of the pet chain for the achievement and get the second orphan on the last day. I cannot say for certain but that should give you another seven days to hit 75-- eat your candies and be dead weight in reg. UP:)

This, at the time of posting, is not Achievable with the 3.2 Northrend Orphans, the Wolvar and Oracle. I ate each of the necessary foods in front of my Orphan, and found that I got no progress. This may be a bug, and may be changed, but for now, don't waste your money (16g for a cake, for example).

If you are making this for the Children's Week achievement for alts or guildies - please note - 1 set of mats will make you 5 cupcakes - that's not immediately apparent from the recipe. I have ended up with bags full of cupcakes before by making 10 lots for 10 people i.e. 50 cakes on 1 occasion. Of course you can always eat them and stay happy for a while.
