I just tested this, and it's actually absurdly easy, though it is possible it was changed in one of the most recent builds from what you saw.

You don't need to actually hit the mines continually. Considering the mines themselves won't activate before you hit the ground, there is a very small grace period built in to the timer of the achievement. To get it, simply go to the center of the field, and start running into mines. As soon as you land, sprint to the nearest mine by where you landed, and you'll continue your chain.

Hitting multiple mines at once counts. I got it in four jumps for hitting one, then three, then four, then three again.

I just completed this achievement and can confirm that you just need to run FAST to the next set ..i tried jumping into a group of 5 of them to start me off...then it's just a matter of luck and catching that RIGHT bounce.
(hint) start in the middle...if you start outside ..turn your back towards the inside.

Note to mages, if you blink you will go forward from the last place you landed so this achievement is easy to get since you can run into a bunch of mines in a line, blink and get more ahead of whatever ones you blew up, got a 8 start this way.

Guide:
(1) Get hit by a mine
(2a) Hope to land on a different mine
(2b) If not run towards the nearst mine
(3) Profit!
- Have full health when you start
- Try to have the mines blast you inwards if at all possible

Just mount, stay on the ground and keep on moving on the minefield... You won't get dismounted

As a druid, I was able to fly into a group of mines and get blown up, which removes flight form, but I just shifted right back into flight form and flew into more mines. Repeated a few times and completed the achievement very easily.

From the looks of this
you have 4 seconds from when the mine blows up to be blown up by another mine. So if you land in 2 seconds, you'll have 2 seconds to be blown up again.
If you're in the air for 5 (slowfall) then it will reset.
EDIT:
Personally confirmed that you have 4 seconds from taking damage from a mine to hit another one.

Also, a few tips.

Running into a mine will blow you in the direction you ran at it from. (If you run to a mine from the south of it, the explosion will send you flying south). Try and make them blow you toward the middle of the mine field.
Mages can blink and for me it seemed you could pretend you were on the ground and blink like normal, which will put you ~20 yards ahead. Use it if you're getting blown out of the field.
You CAN use shields - Mana Shield, Power Word: Shield, Fire ward, Ice Barrier etc. - and still get credit for having a mine blow up on you - even if you absorb all damage. I am not sure if this counts for Paladin Bubbles.

Step 4: Go to the mine field, get on your epic mount, and just run around the mines, they'll all blow up at the same time once the ping gets to you.

I'll confirm what most are saying. It's perfectly fine to move. It seems that rogues/druids get a sort of cheat on this, however, with Safe Fall/Feline Grace. Got this on my feral druid and only suffered the initial blast damage, no fall damage.

Odd thing was I got 11 blasts without moving, didn't get it. 9 blasts while moving, got it. /shrug

I was in Storm Peaks just before rolling restarts, so I decided to try this achievement before my time was up. It wasn't going well and frustration set in, so I looked up all the techniques to try them. I wasn't able to make my timer for the restarts, so I decided I'd try to lag myself out via youtube, but I still couldn't get enough ping. After about 2 minutes of logging back in after the restart I gave it a few last desperate attempts, and to my glee I got a nice couple, few, several, 10!....15....20...27.dead. It's pure chance. Of course it would so happen that I finally get it and I nearly triple the requirement. In conclusion what I found out that is fact beyond a reasonable doubt is:

A) Movement after initial airlift explosion expels from qualification. (Thus forcing us to watch with our fingers crossed and no intervention)
B) Using one's mount to jump on an initial cluster counts for all which explode. (Do not use flying mount for... obvious reasons)
C) The direction one is launched is dependent on their position juxtaposed to the mine. (If one is placed at a mine's 2 o'clock, one will be launched to the mine's 2 o'clock {Exceptions may lie with mine clusters where airlifts confuse positioning})

May my best advice lie as a blessing of luck! ;)

Just got this, Nov 28 2008 at 10pm.

- I believe you can move after landing, just as long as you hit another mine within 4s of the first one
- Hitting clusters of mines doesn't always register - the run that got me the achievement was a lot (not quite 10) of bounces, but over 20 mines before i got the achievement!
- Bring a healer, or lots of food/bandages/patience
- Get lucky

So just start in the middle, get launched, as soon as you land, take a step or two towards the next mine, or even if you land on a mine, take a quick step before it explodes to launch in an optimal direction. In the chain that got me the achievement i never took over two steps or so between bounces. And be prepared to spend 20-30 minutes doing it.

I just gave this a try, and I believe this is the easiest way to do this.
First, get Loaneed Wind Rider Reins from "Honest" Max.

This seems to work the same as the Carpet Trick, except I think this mount is available to everyone.
All you do then is, run over the mines as fast you can, as you don't get dismounted from this mount.

Lag worked for my rogue as well, i discovered it on my own though - i was lagging and i thought what the hell (isp problems) and used sprint moved through 20-30 mines when my 5-6sec lagspike was over i had done the achievement and came here to share but apparently it had already been discovered.

ALTHOUGH- i jsut did the achievement on my druid as well - you just go to the mines above them without touching the ground, it blows up, shifts you out of flight form, you shift back in, go above the next mine without touch the ground, rinse and repeat and voila :)

I am very surprised that nobody has mentioned how you can get others to help you work towards this acheivement in one of two ways.

1.) Get some people together and jump on a heavily mined spot, you all should jump for a location 2-3 yds. away from each other in a rough circle. Depending which way the explosions kick you, it IS possible to catch 10 explosions, some set off by you, some by your friends.

This, my Halls of Stone group agreed was a good idea to get the achievement but after several attempts, only one of our group members was lucky enough to get it.

So we put our heads together and came out with our second strategy.

2.) We called this the "baseball" strategy.

After many explosions and mishaps, a group member would make their way to the centre of the minefield. The remainder, in this case 4 people, would fan out to the edges of the minefield and mount up.

The player in the centre would then hop on a cluster of mines and the resulting explosion would kick them into the air. As the player began to fall back to earth, the nearest mounted group member would hopefully be able to leap to the spot where the prospective mine sweeper was about to land and trigger a cluster of mines.

Even though it is not necessary to remain airborne the whole time for the acheivement, triggering the mines before the minesweeper hits the ground ensures you dont time out between explosions.

Despite how complicated the second strategy sounds the 4 people in the group were able to get the acheivement in 7 tries.

+1 to youtube strategy as it is probably way easier =D

I got the Achievement just 5 minutes ago...

All you need to do is

1.) run to a bunch of mines.
2.) after landing run to the nearest mines
3.) rinse and repeat

You have 2-4 seconds to get blown up by another mine or the Achievement will reset it's number count. Trust me, don't run and jump to the mines, just run to them. Easy as that.

Just did this on my Druid with approx. 200ms.

I went into cat form to eliminate the fall damage and when i landed i moved very quickly into the nearest mine, at first i would be blown away from the minefield and would have to restart it but by moving backwards into a mine it would keep me within the mine and in 2 mins got the achievement. I don't know if it was just me, but it seemed to work best when I landed in the middle and simply kept running for the edge. Trying to run in to the mines got me bounced to the edge... trying to run out/away from the mines got me bounced back to the middle.

Very easy,just go on a mine and u have like 1 second of landing time. I did this without knowing the achivement lvl 77 i went into storm peaks and i walked into the mine field and got the achivement not knowing what i did, but yes you can move.

A very cheesy way to do this achievement with the minimal amount of fuss is available to Tailors, with the help of the Magnificent Flying Carpet and quite possibly it's lesser counterpart as well.

The carpet itself is so incredibly buggy (or as we call it "full of features") that the mine explosions won't knock you out of the air. So mount up, fly low over 10 mines, Achievement complete.

I accidentally completed it today with the said method, and I have to say it was very anticlimactic...

My problem isn't that I can't explode, but I just can't stay alive long enough for 10 explosions. I have 21937 health and 21857 armor. My falling damage I take is around 2000-3000.

Anyone else have an issue with it in this regard?

Ok, i just tried everything, and no one elses comment worked. if your like me and have constantly high latency, and are a tailor with at least a magic carpet slow mount...moutn up on it, and glide over the mines. simple. they all blow up and you never technically touch the ground. just a little glitch i found. good luck!

I was trying this on my lock for maybe an hour, so much food wasted. I gave up and hopped on my flying carpet and flew across the ground setting off mines getting hit but not moving. That is how I got this achievement.

i jus completed this by total accident and im not quite sure how! althougb its says that u have to hit the mines without landing i hit the ground after evry explosion although i didnt move after i landed.
decided to check this out with a mate of mine an he got the same thing - although he hit the ground after each explosion as long as he didnt move he got the acheivement no problem!

This achievement can't be bug-free
I've done this now 50 times. and as it gets registered in the combat log. I've been exploded by more than 20 mines in a row but still not gotten the achievement?
something has got to be wrong.

EDIT: Well I finally got it done. But the "counter" who controlls the number of explossions that hits you can't be perfect.
The last round when I finally did it I exploded more than 20 times, but still only got the achievement on the last explossion.
As someone already have mentioned, it's smart to start off in a group of 3-4 mines. Looks like the "counter" atleast records those.

Tried it the normal way for about 30 minutes, tried it the normal way but with moving for another 20 minutes, then tried it the youtube way, except I opened up about 60 videos instead of 20,... still didn't work.

I tried doing this before i did any quests in the storm peaks and i spent nearly an hour trying to do this and i couldnt get it. But, i just tried it today after i completed all the quests in the area and i got it so easily.

The only thing i can think of is maybe you have to do a quest? maybe the one that asks you to go get the toolbox from the guy in the middle of mine field?

I could be wrong, if i am plz correct me :P

Actually to do this achievement you must have the Flying Carpet or a mount from the Honest Max if you dont know to fly at northrend.
You must only fly over the mines and then you have the achievement. ^_^

I found and did an excellent way of how to do this achivement

I went into the middle where the goblin is

I used a drake flying mount (not proto-drake) and made it land on the ground

I kinda counted 1-10 mines and so, where i found the most mines I landed on a "start" point with little gaps and the closest distance mines to each other - I used the mount and rushed in and BAM i got 10 at once with only having 173 ms

Here's a tip to add to the posts above. I ran to the nearest mine when I landed as described above, but I kept getting thrown out of the minefield and it took too long to get to the next mine. Finally I realized that I was sometimes over-running a mine or approaching it from the wrong angle.

When I finally got the achievement I did it by:

1. Starting in the middle
2. Running into a mine
3. Upon landing, I ran toward the nearest mine that allowed my back to be toward the center of the minefield.
4. I STOPPED running just before the mine and let it blow me back toward the center of the field. This sometimes took a second before the blast, but apparently the timer is forgiving enough for this to work. Doing it this way worked on the first try for me.

I have but one problem with this achievement, and that is staying alive long enough to get credit for 10 explosions. 3-6k falling damage per explosion, plus the 500 from the mine itself. I have 29k hp, shieldwall,last stand and potion, but I die. Is there some trick to that part?

I was getting rather annoyed with this achievement... until I turned in "It's the End of the World as We Know It" by R.E.M. Perfect song for it, got it right off the bat.

On a serious, more helpful note, this is very easy to get as a DK - especially Blood. A single Vampiric Blood + Rune Tap halfway through is enough to get you through it. It might also be easy on Unholy with Shadow of Death; I managed to get the achievement without dying, so I can't confirm or deny whether the progress continues during the transition or if you can even get it while you're a ghoul.

I got this effortlessly on my paladin. However, on my warrior, I was having difficulty. I knew the mechanics of it, I knew the grace period, etc etc. However, no matter what I tried, I couldn't get it. The grace period didn't seem to be anywhere near 4 seconds; I had to run for no more than ~2 seconds in some instances and hit over a dozen mines, no luck.

I was down to my last sweet potato bread (which I bought just for this achievement, to heal me up without using my stat food). In an emo fit of rage I charged in to the minefield because I was disappointed at having to soon fly back to K3 to buy more food.

I randomly bounced around and even though it seemed like I took too long to hit some mines after landing, I got the achievement.

The moral of the story is, emo fits of rage may pay off.

Took a couple tries to get this one down.

To save people the pain of the trial and error I faced let me run down a couple things.

You can move when you land.
The grace period is short, though. So, hit the round running!
The mines blast you in the direction you hit them from!
Don't confuse this with the direction you're facing. It doesn't matter if you're facing south or east. If you hit a mine from the west, you will get blown to the west.

With these two simple things in mind do the following.

Use the path to the center of the field provided for Just Around The Corner.
Face towards a cluster of mines to the south. Ones closest to the center East/West line are ideal.
Jump into the cluster straight from the North. (North should be to your back)
While your in the air, turn yourself around so that you are facing North now, and your back is to the South.
Once you land if you haven't hit a mine on your way down, run straight ahead to the nearest mine. Make sure you hit this mine from the South. This should blow you back towards the 1st cluster of mines you hit.
Again turn yourself around 180 degrees until you're facing south.
Repeat steps 2 through 6.
Profit!

Note that when you hit the ground and run for a cluster of mines you may want to keep an eye out so that you don't clip a mine from it's Eastern or Western edges. This will throw you from the East/West centerline and could cause you to loose the controlled falling that you're trying to achieve.

Everyone worries about being able to move or not move... the Latency... Flying Mounts of ALL types....

Latency does NOT have to be 1.5k ms, you DONT have to use a mount, and you CAN hit the ground and *quickly* move to another mine. This isn't that difficult people. Took me two tries... a bad bounce the first time killed me; the second time I had no trouble at all and even had over 50% health left.

I just got this one as a resto shaman.

To not die:
1) Cast earth shield on yourself and activate the nature swiftenss.
2) Get in ghost wolf
3) Enter the mine field walking backwards into it
4) As soon as you land run to the nearest spot with the more mines you can see.

Easiest way to achieve this: Take your land mount, run into the middle following the mine-free path.

Then run on a mine. And in mid-air, constantly turn around your character. If you land near a mine, walk to it backwards, and constantly circle your character in the air. Profit!

Though limited in who can do it and taking away from the real challenge in this is the fact that you can use a "vehicle" mount and get this achievement in no time. By vehicle mount I mean the newer mounts that have health bars and the like.

Simply hop onto the specified mount; in my case, I used my Flying Carpet, and skim the ground the mines are on. You and/or the mount will take damage but, you will not be dismounted. Start at one end and just move in a straight line. When the achievement has been awarded, stop and fly away. Takes under 5 seconds to do.

Since this can be seen as exploit, I would suggest one use this method soon before it gets altered. That said, perhaps it's a simple game mechanic that gives you the advantage and Blizz may never remove this "method" from use. Good luck!

Lol this is the easy. This is what to do if u are lazy and want a achievement. (Cant be done if u got flymount skill).

1. Go to K3's Flightmaster beside him there is a guy
''Honest'' Max talk to him and u will get a free fly mount (60%).

2. Go to the mine field and mount up.

3 And just fly over the mines u wont be dismount cuz u got that loaned fly mount (Be carfull whit ur hp and have fun)

Had no luck with this achievement after an hour of trying the different methods on this page. I began to think that it was fall damage that breaks the chain of 10 mines, not movement... that as long as you weren't blasted high enough to take fall damage, then you cold run to the closest mine to continue the chain... but apparently not. On several occasions, I managed to detonate 10 or more mines (confirmed in my combat log) without landing and taking fall damage... and yet the achievement did not unlock.

if you die trying to get this achievement,

have a potion ready or instant heal skill, resurrect in the minefield with a couple of mines closes to eachother, resurrect and immediatly use the potion/skill
if lucky it should send you to other mine nodes and get the achievement

Easiest way to do this is to get a bandwidth limiter program like NetLimiter 2 and make your wow.exe use very little bandwidth. Run over 10 mines turn off the program. Instant achievement.

If you have any of the vehicle mounts, you can actually just run over the top of the mines. dont even have to be flying above them. I got this by accident by just running through the mine field on my Loaned Gryphon Reins.

I don't think I really succeded due to perfection in technique (but do read up some and thanks for posting all) but more through tenacity.

You get blown here and there, land on one or several mines, or none, rush in again, boom, boom. /sigh. Eat and drink, at it again. And again. Took me around 10 minutes, but it was rather fun hopping about!

As mage, use the mana shield (remember to make a Mana Gem) and Endless HP if you have. Lifebloom if you're Herbalist, and then you can use a Fel Blossom too. Blink. Maybe Iceblock (one of the few things that nulls falling damage), though I didn't use it myself.

Rearrange your bar for this event perhaps?

Other good emotes: /headache, /bleed, /groan, /soothe (on a friend trying), and finally, /yay, /train and /cheer!

This is the dumbest achievement in the game. There is no possible way to "get" this achievement. I have spent over 15 minutes trying to get this knowing full well the grace period and all the other tricks. I blow up and land in a clearing with no mines around me.

I tried this about 10 times after reading all of the advice on here and nothing.

Finally, did this. Tilt your camera down, hit a mine, instantly flight form and fly straight down onto another mine. Repeat, and win.

I just managed to complete this, and one thing that seemed to help, was to have my camera pointing straight down, and to turn toward the area I was wanting to run to as I was falling, so I could better control where I was going to be bumped to.

I recommend not attempting this while on the Just Around the Corner quest, as the turrets in the area are activated during the time and you cant utilize non-vehicle flying mounts in the area, which does make it easier to get to the middle of the minefield, as well as attempt to hit the most amount of mines to start off the timer. I spent probably 20 minutes trying to complete this while on the quest and wound up just turning it in and trying again after reading all the comments about flying, and I had it done within my first attempt after a kamikaze dive at a group of 6-8 mines

ok im not sure why or what the cause is, but currently Feb 25th I am unable to get credit for this achievement...not sure why lol

I did the quest that DAXRIX was called out on, and voila i got the credit!
I dont know if it might be a bug/glitch in the game but i tried for an hour before the quest...to no avail!

I do the 2 quests and bamn the next attempt im golden, so for those who get stuck try doign those quests and maybe it will work for you!

Just did this achievement, and I can say that its quite easy when u understand the mechanics of the movement. As Clopert stated above ( whose statement actually gave me the idea ) the mine will send you straight back to the direction from which you got on it. This means, that if you can choose a straight path between two spots with many mines, you can use your flying mount to fall into them, and then while floating, turn your character according to that direction and see that you are landing on the next mines with your back at the first ones. If you land on clear ground its even better, cause you will easily determine the direction of the explosion. Best spot to try this is around the middle of the field. Mount up, choose your path from the air, and then move according to it. I hope this post helped somehow.

JUST got this one after 2 tries (today). My technique was, follow the above path but instead of going all the way to the goblin(middle) stop just to the west, face west and begin the BLAST! Keep moving the opposite way you are flying in the air. My only trouble on the last and successful attempt was I did not stop at 10. I think by the time I finally stopped getting tossed like a rag-doll, I was somewhere around 20! Fortunately I had just enough health to keep me alive and walk out the original path I came in on. I guess I could have hearthed, but that would have been easy-mode!

The hard way: Do as the other people say. You can walk around in a short period of time in the mines, and then you may get the achievement. But you are in the risk of dying if you do not have any potions, bubble spell or instant heal.

The easy way: Go to K3 in the same zone (the Storm Peaks), and talk to "Honest" Max <Slightly Used Flying Mounts>. I think he's just outside K3 actually. You say: "Roflmao, gimme one of yarr slightly used flying mounts, or Imma report yoo guys to my friend, he's a GM, mon! And if I hot blood elf reports yoo, yoo aren't gonna give ppl more flying mounts, man! GM will only allow you to give ppl Roflcopters, mon!"
He says: "Time is money, friend, you will get one of my flying mounts, hot blood elf."

Use your new Loaned Wind Rider Reins (or Loaned Gryphon Reins if you're alliance), and just walk around in the mine field. Easy as pie.

I personally didn't try this (yet) but making a raid with guildies then mass flying randomly into the mine field may do the trick.

If I'm right the explosion is an AOE effect and if yes, it probably affects everyone, if you all aim to around asme spot you might get 4-6 mines to set off at same time.

And even if it doesn't work that way, could be fun to see an army flying all over.

I've tried every single strategy on here and here are the results: You're all wrong. You are NOT allowed to land even for a short time, the mines blow you in RANDOM directions (seems to always be in an open area), you have NO CONTROL over where you land, and this seems like an achievement that is completely out of your control. Just got it, used pally bubble and got blown around for a good 30 seconds or so...had to blow Lifeblood/Gift of the Naaru/Lay on Hands after the bubble wore off.

I approached from the north, that little hill outcropping, and hit a cluster obliquely, which blew me into another cluster, which blew me closer to the center...and it just kinda kept going from there.

The best advice I can give, is try to hit the first cluster to the side, so it blows you to the side. If it does that, then when you hit the next mines, it'll blow you back in the direction you just came from, and you're kinda stuck in a loop...which is a good thing in this case, unless you're not a healer :D.

I found it easiest to find a cluster of 4-5, and drop down from my flying mount. When you land, just run to the nearest bomb and hope you land on another cluser.

I tried for 15 minutes to do this, and when I FINALLY got the achievement, I bounced for almost 10 more exposions and nearly killed myself ^.^

I found this achievment extremely difficult. As a level 80 resto shammy with instant cast ghost wolf I managed to run from mine to mine very fast and I take a fairly long time to die, so I hit plenty of mines before having to stop to mana up.
I hit way more mines than the achievment required and spent well over an hour doing it, it seems like that 4 second time limit is an overstatement or the achievment was bugged when I tried to get it.
I still have not gotten it.....I have cold weather flying so getting a loaner mount isn't an option...

Something I will add since it took me a long time to do this:

Don't run while you are doing this, the mines have about a 3 yard radius and will explode after ~1 second of you being near them. Took me forever because I was running to the next mine when I landed. I was finally told not to run at all and just let them do their work and I got it first try.

If you are a mage or priest this will be easy because if you aren't going to make it to the next set you can slowfall to get yourself there.

Easy Achieve.
The YouTube trick worked for me first time.

1) Open 10-20 youtube videos and have them stream at the same time to make your ping go crud
2) Get on your flying mount
3) Fly into the mines and run in a straight line over 10 mines while still on your mount

Warlocks:

Put a demonic circle down in the center where the goblin is. Start towards the edges with your back towards the center. Keep bouncing mines til you land near your demonic circle and if you're close enough to set off some mines, hit those and immediately summon yourself to your circle and hit some more mines. It's a quick way to rack up 6-8 mines, and so long as you land near a mine after doing this it's an easy completion.

I can confirm that moving still works in 3.2, as well as hitting multiple mines at once. As a warrior I couldn't do any of the fancy tricks others listed, but I can tell you to bring alot of food. I went through 18 peices of sweet potato bread and 3 potions. Using a potion when you're about to die but think you almost have it is totally worth it, and doesn't affect the achievement.

If you're trying to get hit by multiple mines at once, if they are both near the same direction their force will stack. I got hit by 3 that were all in front of me and i took at least 60% of my health from fall damage. If they are on either sides they will somewhat counteract, though it doesn't nerf it completely.

The grace period didn't seem to be anywhere near 4 seconds; I had to run for no more than ~2 seconds in some instances and hit over a dozen mines, no luck.

The grace period is indeed 4seconds, but remember that the timer starts when the mine explodes, not when you hit the ground^^ so technically, those 2 seconds you're talking about are correct, unless you're a mage with blink, or a warlock with Demonic Circle (if that works mid-air)

Before 3.1 you could easily do this achievement by taking the loaned gryphon from goblins town nearby, since it was a vehicle all you had to do is get on it, land and run through the field as it had 100k hp and couldnt be blown from the surface. I wonder if it still works?

Apparently it's changed, multiple mines don't work anymore, at least not to me.
Running to mines less then 4 seconds after you got launched by the previous mine doesn't count anymore.
You can get several explosions, not adding to the count but definately lowering your health.
I guess this is one of the little annoyances Blizzard has built in to get rid of their own frustrations,
wathing people die multiple times to try and get an achievement they won't get.
I cannot see what's funny about that, perhaps I should ask Blizzard to get to know that.

I jumped on my flying mount and flew as fast as i could into the biggest pile of mines I could see, i exploded about 6-8 just by flying around them before the canons on the side took me out.

I believe the key to this is jumping. I read all the comments here, some very in-depth, and none were working for me. I wanted to get a visual of it, so I checked out youtube and the first video I saw the guy mentioned jumping and having to be in the air when the mine explodes.

I tried to find the middle of the field, around the guy who has sparksockets tools, and just jumped into some mines. Whenever I landed I tried to find the closest mine and jump at it. Got the achievement the first time.

As of patch 3.3, the landmines no longer dismount you from a flying mount. This is stupidly easy now to simply fly into some mines, be knocked back a bit, fly into them again, etc.

My other character did this a patch or two ago simply by running straight into a mine every time she landed, and that got me the achievement quickly and easily. I tried that again in 3.3 and am having no luck (definitely got up to more than 10 explosions). I then tried flying into them but again, even after about 20 mines am seeing no results. Suggestions welcome.

If you are a Druid is very easy to do.

Go in the middle of the mine field shapesifted as the flying form(bird) with full mana.
Go hit a mine and as soon as you lose your shapeshift, click to shapeshift back to flying form and fly very fast to a mine near you. Do this 10 times at least and you will get the achievement.

I was getting a little frustrated trying to accomplish this Achievement.

So I went to the center where the goblin was, hopped on my Venomhide Ravasaur mount and I put on my unholy aura.
I had more then enough speed to run a few mines before the first one went off and threw me in the air and then rinse and repeat. Epicly easy on a land mount.

It works! Flew into the middle and wanted to dismount but hit a mine first and it actually worked to my advantage...hit the first mine and just kept running to another, because my flying mount is so big, wasn't hard to hit more with minimal movement.Tried several times on foot and got it first try on mount :)

For me it was much easier than all of these instructions. I just mounted my rusted proto drake at the edge of the mine field, rode it on the ground until it exploded me up from 3 or 4 mines. Then I nosed the drake quickly back down to more mines, hit them. Rinse and repeat until achievement procs. It did not knock me off the proto drake.

Now I don't know if a percentage of damage is what makes someone dismount, but I was wearing retribution tier 10, and wasn't taking very much damage.

I just did this today (2/24/10) ... I did it on the bronze drake ... all you do is go in, it bounces you around, but you don't get dismounted. The trick is you have the 1-2 seconds of no control of the character, then about 2s of control before you hit the ground. The thing is, once you get control back you just aim for another mine.

I was trying everyone's methods and I just wasn't getting it then I found an even easier method.

The secret is: the mines don't dismount you. I found this by accident flying to the mid with the goblin then got punted like I normally did unmounted AND got no fall damage. I ran over to the next closest and up I go and sure enough Mine Sweeper.

I hated the process of getting this achievement! After throwing several nerd-rages and dying twice, I got on here and looked it up. After reading almost all of the comments and trying out most of them I still hadn't gotten the achievement. I hopped on my flying mount and started flying all over. I flew into one bunch, bounced back a ways, flew into the nearest one and eventually got it. For some people, you may be fortunate enough to get this on your first try, I wasn't ;] this achievement can be very difficult or very easy, I envy those who got it on their first try.

Flying Mounts do not seem to work on this achievement as of late.
Possible that Blizz has changed the way you can do this achievement, in a patch update. I've personally just spent 12-20mins trying to get it, have not touched the ground once, have counted each bit of damage i get (counts from explosion see), and had about 20 at one point. Still no achievement.

Tried walking into the minefield, and well, im still trying to get the achievement.
But, as a Death Knight, it does help to have ur pet out. If your pet takes any count from an explosion, you will get the count as well. So far, I've only counted 8. Still working on it.

As a drood this is really easy. Do like all the others. Go to the goblin, jump into a large group of mines, but when ur in the air transform into the flight form, and then just fly into another big mine group, and another one= DONE! It's really fast, and u will take less dmg.

I tried the middle and flying mount tactics, nothing. Probably about 20mins into it I switched to ghost wolf and just ran at the mines (mostly in frustration actually). I made sure if I landed in an open space that I charged the nearest grouping fast, I got the achiv in a couple of minutes.

There's definitely a small grace period, a ground mount I feel would have the same effect as ghost wolf.

This seems a very frustrating achievement now. Spent about an hour or so just bouncing off dozens and dozens of mines at no effect. Tried flying mounts but they seemed to be taking time to recover from the blast has 3.3. It may have been modified in some earlier patch or so but flying mounts don't seem to do the trick anymore. Last effort was to try my black bear mount and just to ride on most bombs I could before dying...got it at first try and I wasn't even at half health.

my suggestion; try running with simple ground mounts, with stated orientation tips stated above, before spending money on buffs and pots, good luck!

This achievement is silly... I tried the "high-latency-solution" that didnt work out at all (i ended up crashing my internet cause of 20 youtube streams and 10 video down/uploads and a speed tester... not a great idea i will admit)

I also tried running towards the mines when i landed and that apparantly is no good when your latency is below 150ms.

In the end i found that using my flying broom from the headless horseman event and flying straight into a mine, then dismounting above another mine and mounting in the air, wince and repeat..

So I was working on Loremaster of Northrend achi and reached Storm Peaks. I remembered being very frustrated some time ago trying the Mine Sweeper but decided to try again. Grace to the fact that it's the Halloween event I'm using my Flying Broom ( which is the greatest questing mount - no casting time and can be mounted from water too if you jump) and run through all the mines I can. Done! no dismount, no frustration. Too bad the broom is available only 14 days :(.

Patch 4.0.1 has made this achievement very simple due to the knock back effect no longer dismounting you. What you need is any flying mount, I used the ICC Drake to demonstrate this achievement in the video. Fly to the mine field and land in the center of the field. Now that you are in the center start moving toward a mine, when you hit you will be knocked back, start facing your camera and head toward another mine. Never jump or fly just move toward the mines. As of Patch 4.0.3, you STILL won't be dismounted after hitting mines (did mine on my rusted proto). Also, you will be able to fly to new mines while in the air after 2 seconds, so it is quicker and easier than running on your own feet. EXTREMELY easy now.

This quest must be completely and utterly broken. I tried everything listed above without exception. 4 seconds (or even 2) cannot possibly be the "grace" period". After 20 explosions (often 2 or 3 at a time) for over 1 hour I still failed to get the achievement.

Trike is the trick to use , at least for me it was.
I tried all the tips and trix from here, but none worked.

Then i thought, could they have missed to make the trike dismount ?
And yea, took me 2 tries to get it with the trike. Had to keep track of closest mine and where it would send me though, and keep moving to the closest one if i landed to far away.

Ok once again this is not nearly as easy as some are portraying or at least its not now.

I tried every so called easy technique. And i was just getting ready to chalk it up to "this must be bugged since cata".

Then i tried my rocket mount. And also tried a different technique.

I flew back towards every mine after being exploded. then when i landed in a bunch of them. I would quickly move left to right while going forward. And it seemed like that was working to explode MORE mines at once. Shortly after i got the chieve

27.12.10 i tried for 1h do this without or with flying mount, both were not succesfull. Trying to run into mines after fall< remembered that 4s period> not successfull, always falling too far from nearest one<tho> Flying mount sometimes didn't fell on ground... I tried several of the techniques here and they weren't working. I was sure I was hitting enough mines quickly enough, but no achievement. What finally worked, and you need to be a druid for this, is to switch back to flight form every time the turrets knock you back to caster form, and fly to the nearest bunch of mines. You have to quick on the shapeshifting, but after a few mine clusters, you'll have it.

Didn't work dismounted or on flying mount. Only non-flying mount worked. I was trying to do this with the celestial steed and failed, switched to bear mount and it worked right away.

There had to have been an update recently or a recent patch that made it harder to obtain. Right now is the lunar festival (which if this affects it then please tell me) and I have been trying to get this for SEVERAL hours.

Who said anything about a 4 second rule? Because I used a stop watch and the only point when time between explosions (yes between the time one mine exploded and the next one) was more than 4 seconds was when I was trying a new method. Other than that I've hit MANY mines with no more than 3 sec between explosions.

As for mount? I've tried on a drake, a wolf, a hawkstrider, a skeletal horse, the headless horse's mount, and a kodo. Nothing has worked despite any tips I've been following from other people.

My conclusion? Whoever has gotten the achievement got it out of luck and nothing else. I've tried every way I've seen someone post "how to" for at least 10 minutes at a time, and even sometimes going back to a previous method and trying again. So all of you that got mad and got it...got it out of luck. Nothing else.

ok so after 30mins of trying to get this achievement on foot and using flying mount, i got fed up so came here.
i used the lag trick.

now im on 100mb bb from virgin so it took me:

10 x HD youtube videos
5 x torrents downloading
tales of the past 3 downloading
logged into my 2nd wow account in SW

just to get my ms up to 163......

BUT

i can confirm that i got the achievement straight away on my blue dragonhawk 14:33pm server time on Quel'thalas. so it is not bugged!

I spent 2 hours trying this using all the tips mentioned in this thread while changing no settings. Then I tried every strategy while absolutely driving my internet performance into the ground. Nothing worked, in fact driving my latency into the ground seemed counterproductive. Rather than causing mines to explode together, I encountered more and more mines just ignoring my presence outright and never exploding if I moved away from them at all, even if I'd run directly over the top of them. If I'd sit and stay so they'd actually explode it took too long. It just was not working for me.

I have a strong computer and a good internet connection, so I finally decided to see what would happen if I reversed course and instead made my connection and computer run as well as possible. I set all graphical settings to the lowest levels possible. I disabled sound. I made sure that WoW was the only thing using my internet connection. Once my latency was under 100, I tried again.

Now the mines were more responsive, exploding the moment I got near enough to trigger them. I wasn't having delays as I'd try to get close enough to a mine, or mines that I would run over which would not explode at all. I got it within 2 attempts, on my ground mount.

If you can get your latency to 100 or lower, try reducing all your settings and dropping your latency as far as possible instead.

I don't believe any way really works on this, and if you've had success with a particular strategy you just happened to get lucky.
It's complete luck whether you land anywhre near a mine and often you land near one and it doesn;t go off whilst other times you can be between 2 that you're not even touching and they explode.

Well, I call BS on every method posted here. I tried with my bandwidth limited, mounted, not mounted, flying mount, standing on my head... etc etc.

Nothing I did worked.

Edit: SOMETHING I did worked, though I have no idea what. I suppose it could have been one of the times I cranked my bandwidth down to 100b per second. I never got the achievement complete text, but it's done. (thank goodness!)

I think this achievement is bugged like the same way mine and bounce is.
Aka only works sometimes on different server. My suggestion is to do right after server restart.

Took me 4 days and it worked after a server restart.

("Completed" the mine achievement three times on different days. Each time other people near me from other servers got the achievement, but I didn't. And I believe everyone have had problems with bounce if not on their main, their alts.)

After watching some videos and reading up on this, I found a relatively easy way to do this that doesnt require addons, downloads, or bogging down your connection...

Mount up on your fastest mount and pan the camera directly overhead.

Fly directly DOWN at all times, aiming for the closest, largest cluster of mines.

Since you are on your mount, you will take very little dmg and the speed of your mount will get you back to the mines faster. It will take several tries, but you will get it in relatively short order.

Remember to fly directly down to the mines, not laterally losing precious time on your 4 sec timer.

OK, after reading the different strategies, here is the power-combo i've come up with: as the posts above said, flying straight down into the ground and running a little to trigger seems to be the best solution. The important thing I found is the choice of mount. I was using my cute little netherwing drake at the time just out of habit, but it was annoying because I couldn't see what I was doing as clearly. I pulled out the armored snowy gryphon and could barely trigger a mine when i was standing on it! That got me thinking, and so I lastly pulled out the Proto-drake, and it worked wonders.
Moral of the story is: USE THE BIGGEST MOUNT YOU HAVE!
the increased visual size does in fact change the distance from which you trigger the mines. Like I said the proto worked best because it had a large size length and width, as compared to a netherdrake which is long but thin, or a gryphon which is just tiny. Good luck and I hope this helps!

If you are a druid, use Flight Form. When you hit mines you will be forced out of the form, just enter it again and fly into any nearby mines. Repeat this until you get the achievement. You should get it shortly.

I'm not sure when, but this achievement was made vastly more difficult at some point at or before Cataclysm came out. I never experienced this during LK, so I can't directly compare. But this is NOT NEARLY as easy as some of the older comments seem to suggest.

There is no counter, so you can't keep track of your hits.
There is no confirmed time limit for the grace period between mine explosions.
Flying mounts don't make a difference - you can't control them at all while under the effects of the mine blast.
Just a sliver of local or server lag can mean the difference between being blasted the direction you want, and being blasted in the completely wrong direction.
It just takes one poorly-directed blast to launch you entirely out of the field.

For some reason, Blizzard removed all potential skill from this achieve and made it entirely luck. Not as fun as I imagine it used to be.

OK....I tried to do it with a bronze drake, and celestial steed. I still haven't got it yet what am i doing wrong? i know i hit about almost 15 of them i do think it has to do with cataclysm came out. I dont know how this easy to do cause i try not to land and nothing.....do u have to get hit by 10 of them at once or something?

I believe the trick here is a fast ground mount. They've added bombs that will knock you off a flying mount, but when I used my goblin turbo trike this achievement became very easy again. The mines did not knock me off, and I was able to reach the mines much faster on landing, and completed the achievement very quickly. Hope this helps.

I tried almost every tip and combination of tips from all posts and still couldn't get the achievement. Tried turning my graphics all the way down then up. Nope. Flying mount, ground mount; same-same. Loads of You Tube vids just froze everything but didn't make an iota of difference. Nearly gave up...

I tried with it flying mount, was getting hit around for like 5 minutes. Thought it won't work with flying work. Tried without mount. If you are paladin it will be easier, because of the flying damage. Just try to calculate the route to the next mine. Use Lay on Hands if needed. I get it after 1 minute jumping around. It's all about luck actually. Don't give up! :)

If you are 85 like me, you will have lots of trouble, the mines literally don´t detect you, so you will step over 2, 4 or 6 till they explode. Really annoying, blizzard should fix it. Anyways, after a lot of tried, 20 minutes or so, I managed to do it with earth mount, not flying mount. But main problem for 85s is that mines just don´t detect you -.-

EXTREMELY irritating achievement. Ok so here's how I did it. It took about 15 minutes.

- Use Drake of the West Wind or some similar mount. It worked the best for me out of about 5 mounts including land and air mounts.
- Angle your camera straight down at the ground so you can see all of the mines
- Tap W in rapid succession so you take little short movements forward when you're near a mine. It sounds weird but it worked for me since a lot of people at 85 were having trouble being detected.
- Crusader Aura helps if you've got it.
- Make sure as soon as you get launched in the air you're ready to drop your mount back to the ground.

1- you need to put some download on to make a heavy lag
2- just run on mines and you will get achive before you can even see any explosion
3- then cut the downloads and enjoy how far you will go in the air
Note:only damage you will take is falling damage and you might die (i died) if you did recurect on the mines (i did) and start running again (i did) and i had like 50+ explosion - used levitate and landed near K3

I had bit of trouble trying to do this as druid. I went in with swift flightform and immediately landed towards next mine when 1 exploded. Counted about 12 explosions this way but no achievement.

Then i read here that multiple mines count, so i aimed landing in the middle of mine packs. That was roughly 4 big explosions and got the achievement.

Having messed around with various mounts on this i found the exalted guild mount (Dark Phoenix) works well on this.
It also gives a quite nice "cheep" every time the mount gets hit my a mine :)

Oh and it appears you are only dismounted whilst on the quest to get the toolbox from the minefield and not after you finish that q...

Just got this, i can definitely confirm (although for what reason is unknown) that Drake Of The West Wind seems to pick up mines better than any other mount. Tried for 30 mins on ground mounts, flying mounts, low lag, high lag etc. and just before i pulled the trigger blam, one life saved.

What I did was fly to a good cluster of mines then, fly straight down into them and the moment I hit the ground, I strafed left and right like crazy, trying to hit as many mines as I could at once before I could be sent up, I repeated this a few times and that's how I got the achievement.

Got this one using the Ashes of Al'ar. Seems to have picked up multiple mines better than my Drake of the West Wind, Black War Bear and Grand Black War Mammoth. Used a similar method explained above, simply mounted up, flew to a good cluster of mines and strafe-spammed (Q and E), trying to fly directly downward after each explosion.

For those who are having as much trouble with this as I was:
1. If you're getting kicked off your flying mount, it's because you have the quest Just Around The Corner. Turn the quest in or abandon it, and the turrets will no longer bother you.
2. Get on your biggest flying mount- it seems to affect the range at which the mines will blow up.
3. Start in the middle, where there is a goblin sitting in the middle of a circle of turrets. This makes it easier to stay within the bounds of the minefield.
4. Stay moving constantly, and aim your mount directly at the ground. It will save you from fall damage, and also gives you a tiny amount of extra time, since you are moving directly towards the ground instead of waiting for your character to slowly fall.

In the end, it comes down to luck. Sometimes the mines just won't activate, even though you're right on top of them. But this will give you your best chance at getting it done.

So I just tried a number of different things to get this achieve. What worked for me and my friend was we got on flying mounts and she was a pally. Put on crusader and after an hour of attempts by my self with crusader we got it in one try. So try it with a pally friend.

Other suggestions might work for some people, but they were not working for me. I'd seen the comments about certain mounts no longer working. Then I read Cassey's comment:

in 4.1 I did it on my flying nether ray mount, so atleast they still work for this. was fun to do so hehe :)

The first ray in my collection was / is the Blue Riding Nether Ray. I got on that and started out, from the middle of the mine field (where the NPC Janks is).

The mount appears to fly, even while on the ground. It also seems that the 4 second rule does still apply, so don't worry about hitting the ground. Just get to another cluster as soon as possible.

Perhaps I didn't get it immediately (maybe one or two didn't explode), but I just kept steering at mines and trying to angle myself to face the middle of the mine field (so I'd get blasted inward).

The achievement was mine within minutes and I added a point to Cassey's comment.

One massive bonus to the (Blue Riding) Nether Ray is that I took almost no damage - even after being blasted several times (Every other mount I had tried ended up with me eating / bandaging.).

Damn it, i tried this achieve today, i was flying from mine to mine, while sometimes it took me 2 secs to go to the next mine and some mines were taking 2-3secs to detonate.
My latency was good, so i guess i was unlucky about this slow detonation.

is this bugged? tried doing this on my rogue just now, i can stay in flight on my netherdrake and cenarion mounts, but still dont seem to get ach. i cant hit enough mines without mount though. i know i have hovered over enough mines on my flying mounts without hitting the ground but no achieve. eh?

As of patch 4.2 and after A LOT, but really a lot of different tries, I got into my sand-stone drake, and tried to follow the trick that someone posted on youtube to get caught by more than one mine at a time (and also one of the first posters here said).

Got 6-7 explosions, landed for like 1 second during some of them, and I got it.

Used the sand-stone drake for the very purpose of getting caught by as many mines as possible, for its size, so I wouldn't recommend an hyppogryph, or a little mount, or without mount.

I was unable to get this achievement to ding using any of the mounts ground or air. (I have 120 so I had several to try), graphics and mods at 0. Since I was on my shaman I used wolf form and my engineering sprint and was able to pick it up with no trouble at all. Might be worth trying the way its 'supposed' to be done if your having trouble with the mounts.

I got this today. heres how I did it. my guildiehad rocket mount from recruit the friend program, I invited im in the party he mounted and I took the second place in his rocket mount. mines were expoding two times faster then when I was trying with my mounts. after just 1 minute we both got that achi. hope this helps good luck:)

Has changed somewhat, there are now underground turrets that will blow you off your mount placed all around field so the flying mount idea is now void. Also skimming across and setting off mine while on a flying mount, will dismount you. Back to the old-fashioned "find the path" method for the quest while you`re there.

I did on with the druid flight form, try several different approaches and what finally worked is diving towards the mine as fast as i could. i think the timer is more important. It only took me 10 minutes in all.

I used the winged guardian to get it. I recommend not to watch the ach. tracker, because it does not keep track; however do not get discouraged because of this just keep flying and running into the mines. if you do that it is really easy. I give my thanks to all the people before me that have spent hours on this and passed on the information. It is also still four sec. for damage, and if you take damage it will reset. this is still true.

I can confirm the mount trick still works. Got this in less than 5mins on Corrupted Firehawk.
Sometimes got left in mid-air after an explosion,but as long I flew back down sharpish for the next mine it still counted.

Thanks to all the people that suggested using large model-sized flying mounts. I've tried it before on land mounts (like mammoths) and the Flameward Hippogryph, without much luck. Got the achievement on my druid today using the Vitreous Stone Drake mount. The achievement doesn't track so you can't really gauge how close you are - you just have to keep going. I basically just tried landing as quickly as possible, swiping as many mines as possible with the drake's wings (that bit wasn't particularly useful since the drake folds its wings in on landing - it probably would've worked better with a proto-drake, I just didn't have one to try). I tried pointing my camera straight down and forcing the drake to move downward just in case it decided to pause in mid-air. After about 10 minutes of bouncing around I got the achievement.

The "tips" were totally unhelpful, though(sorry folks). I tried every one over a few days and all of them failed. If there was any running or flying involved I did not get it. I finally got it when each and every time I landed DIRECTLY on mines ,** and each landing was only a couple explosions so I didn't go too high. Each time one blows, it pushes you upwards so you go higher with the more you hit at once. (hit too many, you go too high)

**If you want to know I was in Flight form but I don't think it would have mattered. I picked FF because I took very minor damage and could do it a long time. Unless after I post this Blizz decides to change that too.

I tried the ground mount, the flying mount, Flight Form, and every Moonkin form. I tried each way many times over several minutes. I never got dismounted or changed out. I always steered towards the center and towards mines quickly( a couple seconds) but without a counter, who knows? I tried to lag out my computer like suggested, but still a no go. Until I hit every time I didn't get it.

Good luck. Its too bad this one wasn't fun at all :(

It took me a long time to get this, but I figured it out. I turned my graphics as low as they could go (I usually run on ultra), got on the biggest mount I had (A proto-drake), flew to the middle of the field, and I got the achievement within a matter of minutes.

Turning your graphics down all the way will help because your computer will spend less time trying to process the graphics and more time detecting collision with the mines.

Tried 'normal' methods for about an hour, gave up and reverted to the latency trick.

On unixoid systems (Mac OS, maybe Linux), try (ab)using your firewall like this (needs root):

mount up and position yourself in front of a mine group
open a terminal and type
*** if you're actually using your firewall, don't forget to adjust the rule / pipe numbers if need be ***
(and if you didn't understand the last line don't worry, you probably don't need to adjust this)

sudo su
(your password at the prompt)
ipfw add 100 pipe 1 all from any to any
ipfw pipe 1 config delay 1500

ED: now all your network traffic will be delayed by 1.5sec, which should give you plenty of time to run into 10 mines.
run through the mines
once the achievement is shown in the message window (everything else will take some time....), fly up and go back to the terminal
(still as root) type

ipfw del 100

(Don't forget this or you'll stay lagged at 1.5s+.)

Your firewall should be back to normal now, in-game you'll bounce around wildly, and the achievement sound & pic will pop up (or maybe a bit earlier).

You have to get lucky.

I opened about 15 of the same video on Youtube, got on my red protodrake, and stormed through the inner ring of bombs as fast as I could. Failure. Flew back, tried it again. Failure. Again, and again. Ran back, success! So everything everyone is saying might help, but you still have to get lucky. Flying mounts reduce the chance that you will die trying, but if you are in the air too long the achieve will reset. Big mounts increase your footprint and trigger more bombs. You lose control of your mount for a couple of seconds; it is possible to land within those couple of seconds, in which case try to be facing bombs you can run into, but you can also be left in the air and need to fly down. If you are trying to use lag to help you, you might need to fiddle with how laggy you get. The first time I tried lagging it out, it was too much and the bombs didn't even see me run by, and then I tried it with not enough lag, and somehow ended up dying as well as failing. And still, you need to be lucky.

I do wish there was a counter to show how close you were to getting it, obviously if you're getting 9 hits trying a method, it would be worth trying it a few more times before trying something else, and the opposite if you're only getting 3 hits. It's the uncertainty that makes all of us wonder if anything is working.

If you don't have a flying carpet, there is another mount that acts practically the same: Heart of the Aspects.

Had a pretty hard time with this achievement. Proud owner of the Phosporescent Stone Drake, it is my flying mount of choice. So naturally I went with that one into the mine field, but after 10 minutes of not getting the achievement I started to wonder if I did anything wrong. I did land a lot, since it was hard to keep the mount hovering. Then I got a brain wave, mounted Heart of the Aspects, and withing 20 seconds I got my achievement! Turns out, The Heart of the Aspects mount doesn't land! It just floats, even when "hitting" the ground, kind of like a flying carpet.

Finally I got some use off those 20 euros! :-)

I assure you the easy KEY to this achieve is the X-53 rocket. The rocket will fly sideways when hitting a mine at an angle and is MUCH easier to direct and fly back into the minefield than ANY of the flying mounts I tried. Got this achieve in 20 secs of trying the X-53. Vs over an hour of flying / ground mounts.

Confirming as of 4/28/2012 you CAN get this achievement without the use of a large model mount. After 20 or so minutes, I got this on my Paladin that I was leveling using a 280% speed gryphon mount.

Try and run into clusters --- as in, if there is a clearing and 5 or so mines bordering it, run into the clearing to make sure more than one mine explodes.

Does anyone know if the bugs for this achievement still work in patch 4.3.4? I tried this on my 85 both mounted (on a variety of hovering and non hovering flying mounts) and dismounted.
Just want to see if this has been updated or if I'm just doing it wrong. :(

Just completed this Achievment, I tried before the quest https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/quest=12819 during the quest and finally after, can confirm you can use you flight mount before and after the quest is completed, but not during.

I tried with flight mount, land mount but finally did it, after the quest was completed on foot and, all I did was run to nearest mine, if there were 2 mine's together i ran in the middle of them to set them both off i had multiple mines go off in 2's took me and hour and half to get it.

While I can't say this actually has anything to do with getting the achievement, this seemed to work for me. I changed my direction in mid air and then ran directly towards the mine. I never managed to get it while strafing, and after changing that tiny thing, I got it almost immediately.

There's a great comment in here from this year which was very helpful. I also tried in druid flight form, but didn't have as much luck as julshunt and couldn't get it. So I tried doing it as Tarecgosa's Visage instead (from the legendary staff) and got it in literally 30 seconds. Highly recommend trying that if you have the staff and are frustrated. The mine's don't break the Visage and Tarecgosa's fat butt seems to hit the mines better I guess :-)

do it me and a friend (both 85) in a mechano hog,
with the extra area of the bike, we do it in like a 2 tries. He was the passenger and he also got, at the same time, the achievement with me.

Tried on foot, mammoth mount, drake mounts, no joy.

Switched to nether ray mount and got it right away.

I've read ALL the comments, tried all the methods (big mounts, flying mounts, lagging the game, unlagging the game), but at the and I used a simple method and it worked on the second try, I used a flying mount, and what I did was dive with my mount to the mine and jump while holding X, so I wouldn't leave the ground (somehow this helped a LOT to trigger the mines and even the ones around, keep repeating the proccess until you get the achiev!

Just did this today took me several hours. I tried all the mount tricks over and over and even without the mount and with no luck. I remember reading something about lag so I gave something one last try. My laptop is not the top of the line and I have to run my game graphics on fair and on the HoT dungeons I have to drop to poor due to lag. I switched my graphics to good and started running over mines in the middle of field next to toolbox and after about 5 secs lots of explosions and my achievement popped up. Can't say this will work with every ones pc but worked with mine. Did this with no mount. Good Luck

Being on the quest will dismount you when hit by the cannons.

Did this fairly easily with a ground mount. With the very small grace period you have to get to another mine to keep the chain up, it definitely did help. Don't try this achievement without being on a ground mount imo.

What I did was go into the options settings and change my graphics to low because the mines didin't explode when i stepped on them. That seemed to do the trick

P.S i used a mount, any mount should do the trick for you

I just did this quest yesterday, though it did take me a while...I couldnt open enough youtube video or open enough other games to create enough lag for the one suggestion to work. So I just ran around and around and around and it just finally went off. So is doable without creating a bunch of lag.

Forget every post in every corner on the net, just do as follows:

1) Mount any proto-drake.
2) Fly directly to one mine.
3) When you explode first mine, fly directly to another, walking on the ground with your flying mount.
4) Do that until the achievement.

Walk over one and once you land on the ground just walk to the closest Mine again -> Do this 10x and get the achievement
Atleast thats how i did it in Wotlk Classic

1. Get on your flying mount.
2. Fly towards a mine, it explodes.
3. Fly to another mine as soon as the game lets you, it explodes.
4. Repeat step 3 until you get the achievement.
