I'm a little over 6,000 and am finished with Northend now. I've done very little dailies however, since I joined recently and leveled basically straight to 80. So this will definitely rely on a supplement of dailies. When I go back and finish the rest of Outlands, I figure i'll be at ~8,000.

Shouldn't be a hard achivement, just quest around ^^ had about 8.5k gold at level 80.

Fwiw, got this achievement on my DK just from quests from lvl 55-80. Instead of going straight to Northrend at 68, I stayed in Outland and finished almost all the quests there (except for the chain that opens the Ogri-la dailies, and a few of the final 5-man group quests for Skettis, Shadowmoon, and Netherstorm).

After finishing the DK starter quests, I hit Outland, did all the quests there except the chain that opens Ogri-la dailies in Blades Edge, hit 74, then did Borean Tundra, Howling Fjord, Dragonblight (where I hit 80), Grizzly Hills, Zul'Drak, Sholazar, Storm Peaks, and about 2/3 through the Icecrown quests, I got this achievement.

I was mine/skin the whole way, and banked all my ore and jewels (for training BS/JC later), auctioned the skins. I also did the dailies with Kalu'ak till exhalted, and the dailies with Wyrmrest (still about 3000/22,000 Revered).

I did this specifically b/c I needed the money, I liquidated everything on previous enchanter main to raise enough for 5000g epic flying at 70, and wanted to recoup that. But I think I probably hit 80 faster, since I only spent one zone (Borean Tundra) and three levels (74-77) without epic flying.

This achievement is directly tied to the statisic on the Character:Wealth:Gold from Quest Rewards.

Should Blizzard include an extension of this achievement, you should get any credit towards that extension when you surpass this achievement.

The gold that counts for this achievement is:

1) Gold you get from completing quest like "Rewards: You will receive X gold"

2) Gold you get from doing quests at 80, which is 6c per xp (a quest that would give you 20k xp would give you 12g instead)

This is one of the ahievements I wish they would continue, and make more levels. I'm currently at 25k earned from quests. I also don't understand why "Daily Quests Complete" stops at 1k. We have an achievement for "looting" money all they way up to 25k. I just noticed that I'm rambling, and maybe speaking a little jibberish. Anyhow, the point of the post is that I believe they should make additional tiers of this achievement.

If you hit 80 without having done all the Northrend quests, I suggest going through each zone and doing them, as they provide about the same amount of gold as a daily, but you can do many more of them, not to mention you can obtain items, find interesting lore and overall have some fun (especially since they'll likely be easier to do at 80) all while working toward this title, and a nice big pile o' gold.

Honoring and Desecrating during the Midsummer Festival can contribute a lot to this, I got this achievement during the event.

If you start a new toon after the achievement came out, everything you make while leveling from quests counts toward this. Too bad you can't get all that retro-active gold credit at 80.

I still haven't updated my Classic Wow Subscription to TBC. So, If I stay at level 60 and keep doing quests, will I get money from XP-to-gold conversion, and will those contribute to this achievement?

Note that selling the quest rewards to a vendor WILL NOT count toward this achievement progress.

Got it on a level 5 alt I made on the PTR, which I thought at first was a bug. I then logged onto another PTR character and It had it too, so I'm guessing Blizzard is moving towards account-wide achievements (at least partially)

This appears to be a known issue with this achievement, as well as Justly Rewarded, wherein if you turn in a quest that requires giving gold to the NPC, your progression will be lost.
