General Rajaxx says: Breath your last! (You see blood spurt from the claw that held Valstann, followed by hearing Valstann's deathcry. More like a groan, actually...)

When I handed in and completed A Smoke-Stained Locket, I got a message saying "You don't meet the requirements for that quest." So I don't have another quest (Unlocking the Secrets Within) to pick up.

Are there any pre-req's for this quest chain?

You have to read what he has to say about Dire Maul. The quest will unlock after that.

I received the error message after the first quest turn-in. Came back later and the next part was there... listened to the dialogue, turned in and yet another error.

I do not see the Dire Maul option at all, I have completed pretty much every quest in the game.

I will try and see if the next quest has appeared tomorrow/later today - I believe the "wait a few minutes" strategy will work best. :D

go to your reputation tab and become hostile with the Cenarian Circle and kill him. You will get a 25 reduction in Cenarian Circle reputation, but when he respawns he will give this quest.

Be warned, the Wardens will kick your backside, so do it nekkid to save the repair bill (he's only level 60, so not like you need the gear anyway). You'll also spawn aaaaall the way down by the Stormrage Barrrow Dens, and can't fly here as a wisp, so it's a long haul back. Plus, he appears to have a terrible respawn timer: took five minutes before the corpse even despawned, then another five for him to get his lasy bum back.

Alternatively if you cannot do the Dire Maul talking and do not want to lose the rep you can actually just wait for someone who can turn in the quest, then you can talk to him and the quest will be there.

confirmed. Tho if you dont want to die just stand on the ledge and once you killed him jump into the lake and swim aways.

Is it safe to kill him at 0/3000 rep? Because I am a death knight and i apparently never did any cenarian circle quests.

I had the same bug where I didn't get another quest, but my friend was actually able to share the next step with me (Tragedy and Family), so this is another alternative without having to relog or kill anyone.

Yes coming back to this gets the quest to come up. No need to kill. I went and did some dailies and then went on an alt for a bit. When I logged back in (same day) and went to the quest giver, he had the quest for me.

This bug was hotfixed today July 26

Should be no more issues on picking up the next quest.

I got all the way to the gravestone in Hyjal where you put the locket (after the one in Ashenvale). I turned that portion and watched the interchange between the Druid and the "daughter". Then they both left and I did not get the final portion to go to Malfurion.

And to boot I do not have the locket anymore so I think I am stuck.

Anyone else have this problem?

Apparently that's a phasing issue: you may have missed a quest in Hyjal and lost access to it due to phasing, but it seems the ripples can still cause glitches like this down the road. If you ticket a GM and explain, they should be able to grant you access to either the skipped quest, or the next stage of the Locket chain.
