The first ability shown in the screenshot is Flame Seed (100 yards - Instant - 1s CD. Plants a series of flame seeds on enemy targets, detonating for 280000 Fire damage after 4 seconds or on significant impact.)

The second ability shown is Flame Burst (100 yards - Instant - 5s CD. Launches a massive concentration of flame at a group of enemies, dealing 25000 fire damage and knocking them back.)

Finally, Retour à la Fournaise.

There is no "right way" to get this done. Just complete the quest a few times and you will find what is comfortable for you.

Noticed while on the bombing run that there's a small group (10ish, I guess) of friendly NPCs off in the distance a bit called Wrynn's Raiders (I'm Alliance, so I assume there's a Horde equivalent). One of the NPCs is druid bear named Astrylian, obvious homage to Astrylian, creator of Rawr. Didn't have too much time to click on the others, but I'm guessing the others are references to other players in WoW.

Six Firelords that appear during this bombing daily quest Fire in the Skies.
When you bomb all 6, you will get the achievement Death From Above.

To bomb these guys, you'll be on a fire hawk (provided seige type vehicle next to the quest giver) with 3 options: Flame Seed, Flame Burst, and Return to the Furnace.

They regen HP quickly, so to defeat them you'll need a group effort (though they may just get to 1 hp and not die =-/ )
You do not need to kill them, some people just get trigger happy, and it does count if you bomb them when they're "tagged" or gray/grey nameplate.

The Six Firelords:

Ragepyre
Ragepyre is off to the right as you leave the cinderweb area. He's atop a small barren hill. (In Firelands there's surgers here.)
Flashfire
"Flashfire is semi-hidden in the hills on the right as you leave Beth'Tilac's area via the ramp." (Thanks Toroq!)
Heatflayer
Heatflayer is in the cinderweb area (Beth'tilac's lair) on the western most part. He's slightly smaller than the other Firelords. (Thanks battierpeeler!)
Blazefury
Blazefury is located on the left hand side after you bomb the open area with corehounds, and are headed back up to the cinderweb (Beth'tilac's Lair) area. You may have tried to knock the flamewakers off the ledge here with Flame Burst, just look to the left.
Hatespark
As you're leaving the cinderweb area (or if you just arrived) and are flying down the ramp, look to the left atop a pillar.
Singeslayer
"Singeslayer is off to the left as you leave Beth'tilac's area." (Thanks kaytie!)

The daily by daily terms can queue twice, though unlikely as these appear to be cycling as intended, ~~meaning you may get a different Firelord every 3-4 days (or depending on how often you do your dailies).~~
Update: It appears the daily is one of four possible dailies. One day you'll steal an egg doing Peaked Interest, the next day you may bomb away. As far as which Firelord will be there, there may be a cycle for them, ~~but it appears that every other day it will change~~.

The prerequisites to this daily is to obtain 150 Mark of the World Tree, and turn in the quest Druids of the Talon at the Shrine of Aviana.

Upon turning in the quest, you will get some short LolRP, then the NPCs will head off to the Molten Front. As you're leaving there is a quest available from the innkeeper Isara Riverstride called Flight of the Storm Crows which just tells you (if you ignore LolRP) to go to the Molten Front and do dailies.

From here you'll finish your dailies, get your marks, and then a new daily will appear to escort a druid through the flames to the north west. As you escort her, fire nagas will spawn to attack and disrupt her concentration to make you burn. About 5 of these spawn, just kill them off. They have roughly 60-70k hp. When you reach the end, a molten elemental will be standing there and the attack is called. DPS the elemental, and stay out of fire that is put under your feet that explodes shortly afterwards. When the elemental is defeated you'll be sucked in as it explodes and dropped down a shaft. Down here is your first set of new dailies. Finish up down here, and don't forget (if it's your first time) to get the escort quest in the far back of the cave (watch your minimap). When you head back up, simply go to your left around the side of the mountain, and here's where the Druids of the Talon daily hub is located.

Meh, if more time available will edit this for clarification as far as the prerequisites section goes.

Would it be possible to leave this daily in your quest log, and purposefully not finish it (thus missing out on 2 marks..) if you want to get the achievement quicker?
That is.. assuming that this daily is one of the random ones (from Sacredevil's post over here, there's no guarantee that you would get this quest every day. Meanwhile, if the Firelords DO change daily (since which one is up is likely random) then if you cared more about the achievement than 2 marks, would it be better to go back every day and check which firelord is up, and bomb him if you need to?

The most difficult part of this quest is the Molten Lords. First, unlike other mobs in the Molten Front the Molten Lords are taggable. So if the Molten Lord is grey you will not get credit if you kill it. Second, it usually takes more than one pass to kill a Molten Lord because they have so much HP. Third, all the Molten Lords are shared. So if it's busy you may fly around and around only to discover that all the Molten Lords are already tagged and you are just waiting for someone to kill them so they respawn.

The Molten Lords alone took me 20 minutes on this quest. My advice is to kill them even when they are grey. No, you won't get credit but it will make them spawn much faster. Otherwise, you could be flying for a long time.

This has now been fixed as of July 12 patch notes.

Molten Lords no longer become tapped by the first player who attacks them with any of the Trained Fire Hawk's abilities while on the quest Fire in the Skies, allowing for any player who dealt damage to the Molten Lord to gain quest credit upon its death.

The odd thing here is, I do my dailies as soon as they turn over (very early in the a.m., EU server time). It's always the egg/hatchling quest. Later in the day, though, if I come back, there's now a Fire Hawk there, and people doing the bombing quest.

Does the choice of daily change based upon the time of day? If enough people turn in eggs/hatchlings, does the bombing run become available?

Every day this quest is available, the *first* (and only the first) time of that day that I try to do it, right when the bird reaches the area that the bombing is done, my WoW freezes/crashes. I restart WoW, jump on the bird again and it works fine.

Has happened 3 times now, consistently and in the exact same way.

Anyone else experience this and have any idea what might be causing it?

If you manage to be in combat and attempt to mount the it seems it will just despawn... had to relog to get him back.

I don't know anybody else noticed the same, but I just can't see the hawk if I keep the quest in my log, and the actual daily is not this quest (european server). I did the bombing tonight (didn't turn in), and went back after 00:00 but before 01:00, and the hawk wasn't there. I abandoned the quest, and a different quest was offered already. This happened twice with me now.

The text for this quest, as well as some of the conversation options of the druids in the area, refers the short lifespan of the firebirds, how they only live several days. In particular, the questgiver here remarks that the bird was only born "less than two days ago", and how their lifespan is "remarkably short".

This daily seems to only be available if you have completed either Peaked Interest or Starting Young on the previous day, and thus given Morthis a firehawk to train to use against your enemies. It appears also that the firebird is only visible to you when you are eligible to pick up this quest, and if you attempt to keep the quest in your log, the bird will "die" (becoming phased out for you) at some point, forcing you to drop this quest and do one of the two prior quests again to reacquire a new firebird for the druids.

Just like the bombing run in Quel'Thalas, we are gifted with some epic music to go along with our bomb-hurling shenanigans.

Also, we discover that a raid is going on in the area at the time, and that one of them desperately needs to repair. Despite the fact that they raid very often together, he still to this day needs to ask that mandatory question, "Anyone have a repair bot?" Meanwhile, his opposite gets impatient and yells, "Can we pull yet?"
(Note: Those are actual lines those NPC's will sometimes yell out while you fly over)

So ive been doing the dailies now for a few days and i still havent seen the bombing quest - ive stolen a egg today...handed in..ran off and come back and the trained fire hawk is now there but with no quest on it - will it still be here tommorow with the quest? or later today?

An extremely frustrating quest to do during peak hours. It's almost impossible to start the quest without being directly behind someone else, or right on top of them, making the whole quest a wrestling match between you and other players. It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have an ability that knocks targets back, making it a common occurence for you to shoot at enemies only for them to be knocked away by someone else before it hits.

Blizzard's all about phasing now, would it really have been so hard to phase this one?

Today I wanted to start completing this achievement, I finished all quests of the Druid of the Talon (26 marks total) but this daily is not available, only I can see the fire hawk but no daily anyone know how I can get to this quest?

Does anyone have an idea about when mpobs change on EU servers? Do they change midnight, or when the quests reset?

I got this Q today, along with the Territorial Birds one and the thermometer one, meaning I won't get bombing run tomorrow, but I also got frigging Blazefury for the 5th time...

It would really help to know if the mobs changed at, say, midnight.

Anyone else not seeing a Trained Firehawk when you keep this quest in your log? Was thinking they'd hot"fixed" it.

There may be a quest issue for some people or the quest may not be the same for each person on the server and may instead be random for each person. I have done the Druid of the Talon dailies for about 2 and a half weeks straight and have not yet seen the 'Fire in the Skies' daily while friends were able to get the quest.

Shorty before MoP dropped I tried for this again with a friend and had the same issue. My friend could get the quest and I could not. Opened a ticked and a GM was able to give me the quest and confirmed an issue with the quest log.

It would seem as though Blizzard have fixed this quest so you can no longer just keep it in your log and go looking for the elementals each day. Unless I'm missing something. The bird was not available for me today, despite having the quest in my log. Oh well, was good while it lasted. Now we'll have to do it the hard way! For shame.

I am going to go ahead and clarify an issue that a lot seem to not understand.

This daily is available for the druid talon side dailies (Into the Fire) daily option. Assuming you turned in the marks and did all the requirements for these dailies.

I have kept this daily on my toon for some time now, and trying to get this achievement "Death From Above". I have been working on this achievement for a month now doing my dailies every day, and still missing "Flashfire" NPC.

While holding onto this daily I have had to drop it twice. This was because the bird was not available to mount and go check for the missing NPCs I needed for the achievement. Both times I dropped the daily to pick up one the daily I received was "Peaked Interest". It appears that you cannot do the daily Fire In The Skies when this daily is available for you to do (even though you have this quest in the log in conflicts with the "true" daily Peaked Interest for the daily you have at hand). Also after you do Peaked Interest the next day you WILL receive Fire In The Skies. IF YOU do NOT drop Fire In The Skies and the dailies reset and it is NOT Peaked Interest again, the mounted fire bird will be available for you to mount. As I have tried this as well. However one should ask themselves why not drop it and get the "Peaked Interest" daily for the 2 marks knowing the Fire In The Skies WILL be available to them when the dailies reset? Unless you do not like to do that particular daily.

The NPCs for the achievement Death From Above are not in a set rotation.

The NPCs no longer change as some have mentioned several times throughout the day either. I have checked several days in a row for this and never seen more than the same NPC I found at daily resets.

I have seen the same NPC 3-4 days in a row before.

In my opinion Blazefury is the MOST common NPC found.

Some may disagree with me however I have been farming this achievement for over 2 months now. The only other annoying achievement to date in my opinion is "Rock Lover".

Holding onto this quest from yesterday daily is useless, just as today i have to abandon mine and is shown not daily.

It seems there has indeed been a hotfix on this daily quest, you can no longer keep it from the day before and hope to do it again. The bird will either not be there or will be unclickable, and you'll have to abandon the quest and do the other dailies instead.

I put in a ticket about it. I sincerely hope they don't expect us to do 7 dailies every day just to check and see if it's possible that the mob we need to bomb is up.

That's just silly.

I've been holding Strike, Into the Fire (complete) and Fire in the Skies so that I can just walk in and check. It's been broken for me for approximately 4 days. I know we had a server reset on Tuesday, but I was able to do it then. I know it glitched out on my friend, but he was able to finish before it glitched again. Hopefully a simple GM ticket is all it will take to resolve this. I will edit this post with any information I find out.

The only weird thing that did happen was that the rare spider was up and it kept killing the Firehawk the day before I had this issue.

Another GM got back to me and they said this is currently bugged. I had to go through the standard reset your UI before getting the bug GM.

My apologies for not reaching you online, hopefully this information will help you with question regarding daily quests.

The daily quests are generated on a random basis there is no set quests you will get for completing a certain set of dailies the day before. If you feel this can be improved I'd advise taking this discussion to our forums instead, as this is where developers look for community feedback to help make decisions on implementing changes.

But someone above me said they spoke to a GM and they said that you need one of the 2 stealing dailys the day before.

Way to go...

Been trying to even see this daily for over 2 weeks now. I put in a ticket, tried different dalies, done different things to try to even see this daily. I think hope is lost i have only done this quest once and i fear i will never get to do it again. Any1 have anything that may help let me know.

Strangely enough right now on Doomhammer we have 3 elementals up at the same time. Of course not the one I need but it's interesting none the less and hopefully the rest come up or they decided to spawn multiple each day.

I'm having some strange phasing issues with this quest. Some days the firehawk just won't spawn, even with the quest in my log. I never did the forlorn spire daily for the shadow wardens, and I have 0 of the quest objectives completed, the firehawk just won't spawn. I can leave the area and come back, I can relog, I can reloadui. Nothing helps in the slightest.

I just want to add that this quest is NOT guaranteed after doing either Peaked Interest OR Starting Young. I didn't get this quest in a week, doing the dailies every day.

Also, you don't have to kill the elementals to get credit for the achievement, some elementals I couldn't get below 50% on my own and the one in Beth'Tilac's Lair would just go stuck on 1 hp. All mobs where tagged, as well, so just hitting them even when they're grey gives credit.

I have been holding this quest for weeks now, missing one elemental. Never had any issue with the hawk not being there until 2 days ago. The last 2 days the hawk was simply gone, even though the incomplete quest is in my quest log.

I tried relogging, reloading UI, re-zoning, and even resetting the UI - nothing worked. I even tried doing every other quest around the zone hoping it will make the hawk reappear - no luck still.

I have a strong feeling it's a bug, can someone confirm/disconfirm?

I figured it out!

To get this quest, it seems you have to do ALL the available dailies the previous day.
I did the basic amount of dailies to get "Into the fire" each day, completed it, and got no firehawk, this was incredibly frustrating.

Later I began doing ALL the quests and got the firehawk to spawn no problem.

Today, I did the basic amount of dailies, the firehawk didn't spawn, so before I did "Strike at the heart" I went back to Hyjal, did the dailies, came back into Molten Front and did all the dailies I hadn't done back at the beginning.

When I went up the hill, there was the dragonhawk.

It is important to note that the dragonhawk spawning means you will have the "Fire in the Skies" quest the following day. Getting him to appear is the first step.

This is beyond frustrating, I've tried everything to get this daily and I can't...

Since I've unlocked Molten Front I've only done this daily ONCE. Now, I get my hippo in 2 days and still no sign of this daily at all.

I do my dailies everyday (including Hyjal), I've stolen an egg everyday for the past 3 weeks. The fire hawk spawns after I turn everything in, but the next day I still have to steal an egg. Every day.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there some sort of secret daily ritual where I can only complete half of the dailies and skip the rest? Do I have to only do my dailies at night, in the morning? What am I doing wrong? Why is this daily so rare that I've only seen it once in over a month?

It's important to note that you cannot reach the quest giver, Mothris Wisperwind. The path up to The Furnace subzone, is blocked by fire.

Only after doing something, will you be able to access her.

i'll update once i can figure out what that something is.

It might be an Aldor/Scyer thing, and if you choose wrong you'll never get to see her.
It might be be a daily quest that randomly appears, and unlocks it.
It might be a random drop from a mob in the zone.

Additional steps required:

be level 85
zone into Hyjal
accept and complete the quests that are needed (i don't know what quests are needed)
fly to the Sanctuary of Malorne
start doing quests, and daily quests, there
do them every day for an unknown length of time
eventually you will get a quest which you have to complete by going through a portal to the Molten Front
start doing dailies there
do them every day for an unknown length of time

That is where i am now.

Probably self-evident for most of you, but for us derp players out there: if you're having trouble getting mobs to fall with your Flame Burst, tag them a couple times with Flame Seed before dropping the Burst on them to soften them up. Makes for far fewer bombing runs.

I'm not sure if it's my computer but I've noticed a significant drop in frame rate while flying firehawk in the quest "Fire in the Skies" when I'm tracking achievements. Currently, switching on tracking of "the oceanographer" and "the Limnologist" makes frame rate 4 fps. When not tracking it's 26 fps.

I do have a few addons installed, but I've never encountered this behavior before.

For those of us who are aerial rabid bombing fans and love to spam our main attacks à la Get Kraken! or Quel'Danas or even The Abyssal Shelf, this is where reading the ability text really pays off because flame seed works differently than your standard bombing weapon. I was trying to figure out why, running this daily after daily, I was having damage lag on this bombing run. The damage is only done after four seconds. If you spam this ability, you're just resetting the debuff timer back to full and doing no damage until you're out of range and it can count down normally.

The other option is using the knockback flame burst ability right after flame seed (which provides the "significant impact" required), but with a five second cool-down, I found it easiest to either count in sets of three between flame seeds or to simply carpet the whole place, never hitting the same target twice.

If some of you are trying to figure out which daily quests affect what phase so you can see whether Fire in the Skies is up or not quickly then here are the NPC's you need to do the dailies for...
Rayne Feathersong , General Taldris Moonfall , & Captain Irontree . Once you do their dailies you'll be able to select the next daily phase option: Into the Fire. Once you reach Thisalee Crow do her quest. Flamewakers of the Molten Flow is optional, you don't need to do it if you're just wondering if this daily is even available today. The last step is just to check Morthis Whisperwing, if you see a firehawk mount next to him then you'll have to go back and finish Flamewakers of the Molten Flow , if not, then you saved yourself a bit of time. ^_^

This is how it worked for me:

I have done everything in the Molten Front except the Death from above achievement. I bought all pets, plans, mount, etc. Only Hatespark was missing as a boss to bomb.
Obviously, I haven't done all dailies every day; when I have seen after the Into the fire daily that the big bird is not there, I stopped. And this was a big mistake.
Everyone must do the egg stealing quest or the collect 5 small birds quest on the day BEFORE. Then you will have chance to see the big bird and the quest. But it is not sure that you get exactly that quest on the next day!
And if you do on one day the daily Fire in the skies quest, next day won't be available, because again, you have to steal the egg, or save the 5 little birds. This means, you have to wait one more day. And if you are lucky, the boss what you need will be one of the 3 bosses.
I had more than 1000 mark of the world tree, before I found out this...

Shame that I made 3 tickets and NONE of the GMs had this knowledge!

Finally, I had luck on my second Fire in the skies daily; Hatespark was there, and I got my Flame warden title :)
