You cannot attack the Druids which are in bird form, you must find one patting on the ground. Melee swing at it and your npc companion starts attacking it.

I just stood around till the trap was dropped then taunted the druid towards me making it walk over the trap.

Do this quest last, and Shadow Warden will help with other quests too like a pet.
They will teleport to your location if climbing the rock formations and fighting a mob.
If they get stuck on the rocks and not following, they will come when you fight a mob.

Raid mark Shadow Warden so you know where they end up if distracted by aggro on a mob somewhere.

I had a bug where I was stuck in combat for 15 minutes after completing this quest. Had to put in a GM ticket to solve it. They force DC'ed my char, i switched to another and then back and all was fixed. Though I did end up in the Western Plaguelands of all places.

I suppose I could have just exited WoW and did it myself but it was interesting to see how they handled it.

Just be careful

Once you've captured the druid, the warden will run through all the spiders aggroing them all

Found a funny hack on my Night Elf mage by mistake:
I turned invisible, went to the where the solar core is (had the wrong quest in mind, lol) and ran out of there.
My fellow shadow warden started fighting these druids.
When I became visible again the druids came after me and I went stealth again with Camouflage dans l'ombre and the quest was completed...

I love it when the trap is down and because of quirks in the terrain and NPC pathing, these guys run -around- the trap, making you play ring around the roses before you finally catch 'em. :p

Just a word of advice: Don't take the DotF down too quickly or you will have to do it all over again. I got to approximately 30% health on the DotF and several of my DoTs kicked in and dropped the mob before I could get him to the trap. If you are concerned at all about the possibility of killing the mob too quick, stand close to the warden and just run through it when the signal goes up.
