Maps, as usual can be coarse and misleading things. The Eastern Flame Portal at which one summons Lylagar is not the teleporter-like portal in the middle of the area. It is an arch of vine that appears to be burning slowly from within located at 41.98, 55.77.

Did this quest today (28 June 2011). Lylagar was already summoned, someone else had just engaged him. He still showed up as an eligible target (not grey), so I jumped in and got kill credit. Don't know if this was a bug, but it will be nice if it's not.

You get credit even thought somebody else has pulled it and started the fight (grey to you), as with many other quest-mobs in cata.

All you have to do on Lylagar is get behind him when he's casting breath. The casting freezes him in place while casting *and* while belching the breath for a few seconds. Behind him, you won't take the breath damage and can get a few good shots on him.

Just did this quest for the first time. A Hunter was fighting him when I got to the portal, so decided to help him kill it to speed things up and was surprized to see that I got credit for the quest when he died. So I never had to use the fang to summon him in order to finish the quest!
