Every Horde player will farm the Rocktusk Farm in Durotar for this one.
Edit: Even better is that there is a horde cooking daily that forces you to the farms and farm some swine.

In looking around at info for this achievement I've began to wonder... Is this achievement going to be based on your own personal kills of critters or is it going to be a Guild Achievement based on the combined kills of critters from all guild members?

The tunnel leading from Thondroril River and into Plaguewood in EPL is literally filled with critters, and it seems like they spawn a little faster than normal.

Theres a spot in Uldum at 57, 56 where there are 2 packs of sheep. Each pack respawns as the other is killed, about 4-7 sheep in a pack. Nearly solo'd the 50k achieve with an elemental shaman, keeping a magma totem down at one pack, and earthquake-ing the other.

It's actually possible with 5 people to get around 1,000 kills per minute on critters if you know where to farm. Downside is it takes several hours for a couple of the people to set it up properly :(.

Deeprun Rats have the best respawn, IMO.
Also, party up. Then every individual critter counts as a kill for each party member.

A recommended macro that i used:
/cleartarget
/target Deeprun Rat
/petattack

Death Knight Ghoul or Hunter Pet, that way you don't have to chase the buggers.

And while harder, I did this as Horde. Once INSIDE the tram, your flag will wear off.
Granted, you will have EVERY alliance member come over, flail, AOE, and cluck at you.
But as long as you don't accidentally target them... (hence the first line of the macro)
Then they can't do anything worth their time. Most just dance with me.

Why would Blizzard not offer an even better quest reward for killing 100,000 critters than the one they did for 50,000?

To receive nothing seems a bit ridiculous for all the effort involved...

Easiest way to do this in a couple of simple steps.

Step 1: You get a lvling sword/axe. weather its 1 handed or two handed you decide
Step 2: You put crusader on it
Step 3: Make a Worgen warrior and send the sword/axe to it
Step 4: Level it up till you get to taking over gilneas again, right after the bat quest where you blow up stuff
Step 5: Instead of using the torch to scare the pests away, you run back and forth spam clicking you thunder clap
Step 6: Do that for a couple hours and Voila! Easy achievement :D

i can confirm that as of last night, you can farm the deeprun tram and win quickly. with 7 members of my guild (mostly hunters with a target/attack macro) spread in the four corners, middle and one running around catching anything leftover, we were able to farm about 35k rats in an hour. they spawn as soon as they die, and the spawn points are very simple to learn.

Another good spot is Shimmer Ridge in Dun Morogh. There are herds of tame boars in the troll camp. They also respawn almost straight away.

It's low level, so even newbies can add to the total.

The glaciers right past the murlocs in Borean Tundra are filled with dozens of penguins that respawn very quickly. I was killing them on Pally with Consecration. Hilarious and terrible at the same time.

My guild did all 100,000 all in one night... it took us about 15 minutes I think. Here's how it went down:

There were only 12 of us on, so we made a raid of 12 people.

We all went to Borean Tundra.

We each found an iceberg along the bottom of the zone.

While in a raid, we all slaughtered penguins on the icebergs (very spread out).

Being in raid causes the following math to happen:

TK = SK * N

Where: TK = Total Kills Credited, SK = A Single Kill, and N = Number of Raid Members.

This area is ideal because you can be spread out across the zone and still recieve credit in this manner for every member of the raid. In addition to this, the penguins have a spawn threshold that forces them to respawn at crazy rates when you are killing all of them in the zone.

If you track the achievement, be prepared for it to increase so fast that it lags your game.

Made 50k last night. Me and 3 matse nuke the neruber tunnel northwest of eastern plaguelandes. it got 300 critters within. 4 gildies in a group makes 1200 counts a run and its 3 minute respawn timer is decreasing while killing more and more.

Tried this in a group of 3 of us in the Terrorweb Tunnel in Eastern Plaguelands. It seems that Patch 4.0.6 fixed it so you aren't getting multiple kill counts per critter per member, as we were only getting one kill towards our kill counter.

Didn't see it mentioned in the comments above but the Toxic Wasteling eats critters and it actually counts towards the achievement. Parked my character in Zul'Gurub where Venoxis used to be and went to the kitchen to prepare some lunch. Came back 10 minutes later and my Toxic Wasteling had killed a bit over 200 snakes with no effort what so ever. They respawn very fast.

Anyone can do themselves a favour by entering the cave system called Terrorweb Tunnel just north of the bridge between Western & Eastern Plaguelands.

Hundreds of critters just waiting for the slaughter all throughout the tunnel...But beware, there are some Crypt Fiends lurking about (easily manageable by players level 40 and above) and once in a while, the rare level 60 spawn Surveillant nérubien. (Click his link to see the location of the tunnel if you're hopelessly bad with directions.)

Shamans....Drop your Totem de magma and hit Nova de feu every few yards to save yourself some time by targeting them all.

Zul'gurub is not a bad place for this. Just fly in and kill all the snakes ad nauseum

Farmed the terrorweb tunnel for a few days, killed about 5000 critters. awesome spot :D

They appear to have fixed the issue that you could get in a guild group/raid and get credit for killing the same critter for each person in the group.

If you want to help your guild doing this achievement, the best spot for critter - killing is the cave in Eastern Plaguelands. Entrance is at 4 / 36. I killed like 200 critters in 5mins.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##Please do not encompass your entire post in \ tags. Thank you!

Shimmer Ridge, northwest of Kharanos (Dun Morogh, Eastern Kingdoms), is also an excellent place to farm critters, especially if you are a class with an easy-to-spam AoE like Arcane Explosion.

In Arathi Basin, there are mice that spawn at farm, they have about a 2 sec respawn so u can farm those while defending
