Horde Version

This is the starting quest to go to the Firelands daily zone.

Blizzard has added these as requirement, which you will complete whilst doing quests through a big part of Mount Hyjal.

Ouch... so people who haven't aided the Ancients already, cannot even start doing the dailies to even enter the Firelands? It makes sense, lore-wise... as the Hyjal storyline is a heavy precursor to the new Firelands area, but that's a serious inconvenience for players who took the Vashj'ir route, or leveled through dungeons and never went back.

Or for those that are using the PTR for....well...um...testing, this will be somewhat annoying on my pre rolled DK, now my 85 mage that i transferred from live has no problem with picking these up.

Upon completion of this chain, the dailies unlock, so far I have been able to find only 2 (3 if Punt the Turtles counts as a daily) im sure there are more....crossing fingers and hoping...otherwise it will take 11 days or more to acquire the required marks to gain entrance.

Edit: There are 3 dailies to be done, so far they seem to vary. so you will recieve 4 marks per day....so 5 days to unlock FL

If you haven't finished all the Mount Hyjal quests can you not do this? Because it says I still need to assist Lo'gosh and Aessina and I'm afraid I'm at a loss.

Edit: I was able to complete the by continuing questing in Hyjal.

When I picked this quest up, it said that I had already assisted two of them, and had to assist Goldrinn and Aessina, but I can't see where to do it. I abandoned the quest and tried again, and when I picked it up again it said the same thing - I had already completed two, but Goldrinn and Aessina were left. I went to the Shrine of Goldrinn and the Grove of Aessina, but can't find anything there to do. Help?

Was it really really necessary to make it a requirement for players to complete Hyjal before the dailies could be even unlocked?

So, players who went to Vashj'ir instead of Hyjal pretty much get #$%^ed over for making an incredibly unlucky decision?

Uploaded a screenshot of the Shrine locations a very nice player pointed me to, and it was there where i found where i left off. Helped another person to the same shrine, and he found a quest he'd missed to continue on. Hope it helps.

i remember when i was leveling the hyjal quest chain stopped for me and i couldnt pick it back up. what to do :(

Well since this is a fresh out of the box patch I won't worry just yet, But I too am having issues with this quest line. I went back after reading comments here and no quests to be found. /sigh. Hopefully Blizz will realize this and fix it in someway or another. My main quested in Vaj for the mount, while my alt went to Hyjal, neither of them finished the quests so I am screwed on both fronts.

I focused on Vash'jir instead. However, I went to Hyjal to complete the quests leading up to Golden Mini Jouster pet, which was the quest . I had Assist Aviana completed.
I went all the way west in Hyjal and started in the Grove of Aessina quests which lead me to Tortolla quests. I completed "Assist Tortolla" after saving the children and breaking his bonds. I also had to complete . Ysera appears and mentions the Shrine of Goldrinn. I did not have a quest, so I returned to Nordrasil but no quest awaited me there. Must go to . She has Jadi Faralyn with her also with a quest. After doing those, you help Lo'gosh. After completing I was told to go to Nordu. One quest from him and then Ysera tells you to go to Archdruid Hamuul Runetotem. That's it. Completed Assist Aessina. Woot. Also, I have only 82 quests completed in Mount Hyjal.

For the ones who have not yet done these quests, I would suggest downloading the addon "questhubber". This addon shows every single quest you haven't done yet on the world map. It will also show chains which you yet can't accept, but it will give you a hint of where to go.

If the some of the quests completed when you picked up this quest in the city it means you already completed the chain from the earlier Hyjal quests for the respective NPCs

Having a lot of trouble with this quest line.
I picked it up from the board in Thunder Bluff on patch day, headed to Hyjal and nothing came up on my map. Decided to drop the quest, and pick it up in Orgrimmar instead.
Upon picking up the quest, immediately on my screen it said "Lo'Gosh assisted 1/1" and then "Aviana assisted 1/1".. which was impossible, because I was still in Org and I definitely did not previously complete these quests.
Headed back to Hyjal, still nothing on the map, so I flew around Tortolla's location and ended up finding the quest to start his assistance in the Sanctuary of Malorne.
I finished those and now I am currently stuck trying to find a quest to start the assistance of Aessina :(

For those of you who are stuck trying to assist Aessina, head back to Nordrassil and pick up Der letzte lebende Wissenshüter from Ysera. This should help! :)

If you are on this quest- YOU STILL NEED TO DO SOME QUEST IN HYJAL-
I was like you picked up the quest- two of the people I had already assisted...I swore up and down that there were no more quests to do....Then I looked at this list. IF you had done all the quests everyone would be assisted.

If anyone was wondering how many quests you need to do, I got mine at 82/115 hyjal quests, just a general idea.

I couldn't find any quests, flew around the entire zone, then had a brilliant idea: Inside Gar'gol's Hovel near Goldrinn's shrine. Found a quest I missed there, and hopefully this will help me get back on track for the questline. I'm hoping it works, since the character stuck without dailies is my main... Will keep you guys posted.

Update: Grabbed the quest inside the cave from the book (forget what the quest is called), which led me to

No luck after that. Opened a ticket with a GM, hopefully they will have good news.

Those of you stuck with only two ancients down have most likely missed the quest called

its really out of the way and sometimes bugs so doesnt show up on the map.
I had the same issue and that was what fixed it for me

have to do 87 out of 115 quest for the achievement . Don't have a lot of option but have to stick to the quest line. once 87 are done you've assisted all four legendary NPC Lo'gosh (the big wolf spirit) Tortolla (the giant turtle) Aviana (the harpy, mistress of skies) and Aessina (a wisp thing). at this moment the altar of Malorne is restored.

For those who have lost their quest chain, try to go <35,19> to see Jadi and <33,77>to get Codex of Shadow. I deleted those quests because my log was full but later it became a big pain.

Having to complete 82-87 quests in Mount Hyjal before being able to start the new dailies.. it sucks big time! I have done all the quests on a lvl85 alt, but ofc I chose to not do it on my main. I wanted to try different paths to 85, not just quest the same place over and over.. but this is what blizzard now forces us to do. If you have multiple 85s, you have to quest all over Mount Hyjal just to be able to do them.

What happened to free will! It's like.. blizzard is the Gods, and just revoked our free will.

All other whiners, please reply to this post, so we can have it neatly sorted instead of all over these comments.

I had left off at Aessina, she was out of the way, north of the firey area around the shrine, tucked into the hills.

Oomla Whitehorn at (35, 19) gives the quest which will send you to the Shrine of Goldrinn. If you're lost for finding quests check there.

I was stuck for a few hours searching for a way to contiune this quest.

When I picked it up in Org, I immediately got 2/4 of the four done - but could not, for the life of me, find any more quests in Hyjal.

Don't be dumb like me....

Open your quest log and check - do I have any unfinsihed quests in Hyjal? Is so, go finish them.

In my case, the unfinished quest was in a phased out underground section that didn't show on my map. I remember not finishing it now because on launch day it was almost impossible.

To assist Aviana:

Go to Sethria's Roost and check for quests there.

Once I finished those quests, it sent me back to the Shrine of Aviana and I was able to obtain the last quest that counts for assisting her.

I was having trouble with this quest because I had not done all the quests in Hyjal on my 85 mage. Best thing I found was downloading WoW Pro guides at http://wow-pro.com/ extracted it to my addon folder then downloaded TomTom via curse. So when I loaded the Mount Hyjal guide it was able to point me in the direction of quests still needed to get done. Hope that helps!

Ok.... So I have restarted this damn quest 3 times now... It says that I have already assisted Lo'Gosh. Now what do I do? I have flown all over the place looking for a quest. Talked to EVERY other person that I am supposed to assist. Gone back to that Ysera chick who is Supposed to point me in the right direction. She basically just tells me to go and assist Assenia. But when I get there No quests... no objectives. What am I supposed to do? And what am I doing wrong?

I am trying to complete the quest guardians of hyjal: call of the ancients but i started it and didnt finish and destroyed the items required to complete the quest. When I try to abandon the quest and get it again it automatically says i have assisted Lo'Gosh and tortolla and still need to assist aviana and Aessina. Any idea how i can start teh quest over again or get back the items i need to complete the quest.

I think I found it. I was having the same problem as all of you with 2 assisted and kept getting phased out. Try going to Wolf's Run between the Shrine of Goldrinn and the Circle of Cinders. There is a tauren named Oomla Whitehorn that gives you the next quest.

I suppose I can understand that you have to quest in Hyjal for a while in order to unlock the Molten Front.
However, It does make it complicated for those of us who have multiple 85s that didn't quest through Hyjal. I have a lot of 85s and many of them passed Hyjal rather quickly. I did dungeons or just a few starter quests in Hyjal before I was leveled up and ready to move on to bigger and better areas.

It makes for quite an inconvenience to have to go through so much on each character to unlock the Dailies. I am able to do the Molten front on 2 or 3 characters but I still have many that are left out of the loop. I suppose I'll just wait til Blizzard puts in a way to pass by everything, (if that ever even happens) Or just work on the quests when I'm bored/on the toons I actually care about :/

Let's say it straight - the requirement to find and to complete 80+ quests to get access to monotonius and endless chain of dailies with mediocre rewards to do for weeks is not fun at all (actually those dailies themselves are boring, long and there is a LOT of them out there). I was stuck with Aessina not finished. You have to to the stupid Joust quest inside the portal, and then the one quest to kill the elementals for the Big tree guy Nordu, I think his name was. After that he gave me a quest to come back to Aessina and after telittle event thing it auto gave me the Firelands Invasion quest.

If you're stuck on trying to figure out where you are in the Hyjal questlines to fulfill the requirements of Call of the Ancients, try talking to Ysera at the Nordrassil camp.

Her dialogue options will guide you to the areas you have not yet completed.

I am currently 77/115, and there is absolutely no quests left. i have checked every where. i've assisted lo'gosh and aviana. i still need to assist tortolla and aessina. this is so fustrating i never had this problem on my other 2 characters. if anyone has any ideas i'd love to hear them!

**edit** i finally found a quest, in the whistling grove, called: Smashing Through the Ashes. Hope this helps some ppl!

After being SO irritated at this game about this quest line (or lack there of) I went into a cave south of Lo'gosh completed the quest and I obtained "assisted Lo'gosh". Just kill the end guy I didn't drag him across any portal runes (?) just killed him and got it. The player that claims an org in a cage is false. I am going to continue to look in caves near these listed guardians hoping it works.

WTF i have done all the quest (yes i AM sure) and the quest ysera should give doesnt appear also i have helped 2 ancients out of 4 (Lo'gosh and Tortolla)Help pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!

Edit: after 1 day of loooong searching i figured out that i had done all the quests listed above but i hadnt done some other quests which are NOT mentioned as needed anywhere.. yey finally got my dailies :D

I was wondering if this was bugged.... post 4.3, I've done 90 quests in Hyjal and yet this quest is not complete AND I was able to get Firelands Invasion (the daily opener breadcrumb) still from an NPC (not the board).

Ok, so after some digging I found the quest lists to complete this quest. If you don't already have EveryQuest or another addon that will allow you to view your completed quests, I highly recommend you get one.

I did 70/115 of Hyjal quests and was able to have all 4 assisted. http://www.wowwiki.com/Mount_Hyjal_quests is good for seeing what is optional if you aren't interested in doing all the quests. I have discovered that this may only work if you're 85 as I am working through the quests on my level 80 and not being able to skip some of the ones I have on my 85.

It took me forever to figure out what I had to do in order to unlock the firelands quest chain. I was missing the quest "Into the Maw" in which you have to go to the Lightning Ledge and enter the Flamegate. Hope this helps some of you :)

I need seriouse help, i've assisted lo gosh then i remember being in the firelands protecting some totem, then hearth stoned out meaning i couldnt get back. now where do i go to assist tortolla ? as i assume this is the next step. someone please help this is really bugging me.

Hi i have been struggling with this too, having only lo gosh and tortolla assisted , i have been struggling to find any quests,i have found one though at sethria's roost from Thisalee crow by the entrance to a cave , the quest being sethria's demise. Hope this helps.
Further note this has opened up quest to assist Aessina and Aviana

How to:
To complete Guardians of Hyjal: Call of the Ancients, you need to do other quest in the area first.
You begin by locating Malfurion Stormrage. Look on your Mount Hyjal map. He is S.W. of Nordrassil and N.E. of the Shrine of Aviana. Accept the Flamebreaker quest and begin there.

OK, have done this quest three times before without a problem, but this time I was using my warrior and I had Goldrinn done then I didnt play her for months. When I came back to it, I managed to get Tortolla and Aviana, but couldnt find Aessina's quest chain. Read all the posts and followed the thread re "aessina's miracle". Couldnt do that, so back tracked to Nordrassil and found Yessa there who gave me the quest "the last living lorekeeper" this was the start of the quest chain and i've now completed C=Guardians of Hyjal: call of the ancients. Hope this helps someone out

I got this quest from the board but, there is no target on hyjal. I just could not find where to go because there is no mark on my map. The quest is active, and I select the quest and then select "Show on the Map" but it does not directs me to anywhere. I have been strugglin to finish this for one week. Please help fellas

I'm stuck! spent so much time gearing my main that i've forgotten where i left off with my hunter! I have the first two parts of this quest done, but i have no idea how to assist the other two! I flew all over Hyjal for the better part of two hours, and couldn't find a single quest giver! Ysera has nothing for me. I've added Quest Completist, but all of the "!" markers it puts on my map don't give me a quest! WTF! I'm at 79/115 on my Hyjal quests, shouldn't this be done already?

This is the quest to open up the Molten Front portal if you did not quest all the way through the first part of Hyjal. If you have been to Mt. Hyjal a bit for questing, this quest will show on the Hero's Board. I was a bit confused because it's a quest that's actually a checklist of the first few quest lines in Mt. Hyjal. Since no one was outright stating this, I am now. I did the Lo'gosh quests first at Shrine of Goldrinn, then Aviana at her Shrine. The Aessina Shrine quests take you eventually to Tortolla. Finishing Tortolla will take you back to Shrine of Aessina where you'll finish assisting her with the "The Last Giving Lorekeeper" quest in there somewhere. This should open up the Firelands Invasion questlines. The Molten Front portal opens after you complete the quest " Calling for Reinforcements" and then "Leyara".

Completing this quest is NOT REQUIRED for you to get into the Firelands, as you can get the next quest listed in line without having finished this one.

You WILL have to help the ancients, however. I did complete the quest lines from Lo'gosh and Aviana, but I didn't pick up this quest until after I had assisted them already. Regardless, I was still able to pick up the next quest in the chain ("Firelands Invasion") and eventually unlock the Firelands portal.
