imo this sounds really good! It you get interrupted once, then you can't get interrupted again for another 10 seconds! And if you do get interrupted you also can't get silenced for 10 seconds. Awesome!

So... if my poly gets counterspelled. I can't cast poly for 8s(thats how long cs lasts). So 8s of this buff is wasted because i am already interrupted?
Although this might be useful to use against rogues who open with garrote... or shaman in general.

Yea, shamans will get destroyed by this. Also, sure you can't cast poly for 8 seconds, but that also means you can cast your other two schools freely for 10. I can see many situations where you could bait an interrupt with a poly and simply freecast frostbolts/scorches (or the other way around).
And interrupt rotations will no longer be effective, so two melee on you won't shut you down with their interrupts.

I still can't help but to read it as making you immune to silence effects for 10 seconds, which would negate any silence effect currently on you... which SHOULD only make you vulnerable to the interrupt effect of all interrupts/silences, and even then, only one every 10 seconds
someone that has tested this please inform me if I am wrong
EDIT: thinking about it, won't it also only happen if you actually GET interrupted? since I don't think you're interrupted if you're not actually casting a spell...

I'm confused as to the value of this. Rarely do I get interupted or silenced more than once within a 10 second period. And even then, if they do, it's a waste of their spell. Not sure how much value this has? Now, if it took away the silence/interuption I'd like that!

This was a useful passive to spare 2 talents on, until Patch 3.0.3 that is... Druid's can break this with their Bash as the patch notes points out "The interrupt from this ability will now work on targets that are immune to the stun." Then again it could just be another unclear note on the mechanics of the Bash ability.

What does this have anything to do with Burning Determination is beyond me. I dunno. The description on this talent seems pretty obvious, even my friends who
don't
play WoW understand it.
When Interrupted or Silenced you have a 100% chance to
become immune to both mechanics for 10 sec.
So, you're trying to say that if you're stun immune, Bash will somehow bypass this and interrupt you anyways. Somehow, I don't think Blizzard quite intends for that to be the case. The mechanics aren't unclear, you just need to read more carefully.

Sorry I'm still confused with this. Couple scenarios...
#1 - I get counterspelled. It procs this talent ability. That means that I can't use that school for the duration of the CS but cannot get silenced or interrupted in any other way during that time right? It doesn't "remove" the CS affects right?
#2 - If i get CS'd and they have the improved CS, what happens?

You can get confused if you look too deeply into the meaning of this talent. It pretty much means exactly what the tooltip says.
For example, you are using Arcane spells and a Mage
Counterspells
you. Now you are unable to use Arcane spells for 8 seconds, so you switch to Fire spells in the meantime.
Immediately a Rogue uses
Improved Kick
on you to Silence you, but it fails because you have 2/2 in Burning Determination. Then a Shadowpriest immediately uses
Silence
on you, but because you are still within the 10 second proc time for Burning Determination, the Silence fails as well.
This talent really shines in Arena when teams will try and CC you by chain silencing/interrupting you.

If you're playing a frostfire build, you get locked out of both Frost AND Fire trees. If you have a pesky rogue that keeps interrupting you and keeping you from casting your main nuke, this might help with that.

This talent is either broken or at best faulty on occasion. I just was in WSG and was Garrote-Silenced ; I had recently been thinking about this talent so I was hoping to test it. Sure enough ; a rogue jumps me within a few hours and I'm Garrote-Silenced. "Excellent" I think ; and proceed to sheep him ; knowing that any kick attempt will be futile, and he will be both confused, and a turtle.
Alas ; no.
"Madsin-Shattered Hand's kick interrupts Lío's Polymorph"
and then ; insult to injury -
"Lío gains Lío's Burning Determination."
So ; the kick interrupt correctly triggered the Burning Determination, but the garrote did not. This scenario is precisely the reason WHY this talent
could
be useful, nay, vital, for an arcane mage...
The ticket is currently open so we'll see what they say.

Lío : Mmm does not seem to kick in on the garrote ; perhaps the glyphed version maybe affects the mechanic ; Would it be of use to know the garrote ticks to see if it was glyphed or not?

Rogues, Death Knights, Shamans and Blood elves in general, will have a much harder time shutting me down. It will also thwart the coordinated silence/lockdown-efforts of Mage/Rogue or SP/Rogue in arena etc.

Update : Garrote STILL does not proc this talent as of March 1st 2009. Rogues garrote silence ; you sheep - they can still kick. The kick still is the first ability that procs the talent ; garrote does not.

They should make it so that spells under this effect work like the gnomish lightning generator:
-Can be used while moving
-Can be used if death gripped or stunned afterwards

Do not confuse
interruption caused by damage
with
interruption
.
If mobs are attacking you, and your cast takes forever to complete because they keep interrupting you, that is called
Pushback
.
If the spell casting is cancelled completely, that is called Interruption.
This talent does
not
make you immune to interruption caused by damage (
pushback
) for 10 seconds.

I tried this talent on the Tournament realm, And it NEVER seemed to work. I took this talent thinking that it would make me immune to either the Silence from like Mage imp CS, Fel Hunter Spell lock silence, Rogue Garrote silence etc (Basically anything that was a 2 part spell, Interrupt and Silence).
To my surprise and disappointment, it didn't do that. And upon realizing this, This talent has 0 use ever. Think about it, it doesn't work on the combo spells that do both those mechanics. So, no matter what, you are going to be silenced for 2-4 seconds. If you got interrupted, that's 6-8 seconds of lock out. This buff duration is 10 seconds. So, you lose 20-40% of this buff's duration just from getting silenced, and 60-80% if you get locked out.
So, if you think about a pvp scenario, How often will you ever get silenced and/or interrupted again within 10 seconds? The same person almost can never silence/interrupt you again that fast. So, if anything, it's a random occurrence at best, making this talent stupid.
This is just my opinion though, and it's been a while since the tournament realm. So it could be "fixed". If not, then it needs to be or just change it to something else that will work, like silence/interrupt duration reduction (25/50%).

I've tried this in Ulduar:
- it
usually
works on Auriaya's Defender dash. But there's still moments where you get interrupted.
- it does not work on Ignis
and you don't really need it for eighter fight. From raiding perspective a poor, useless talent.

From PTR patch notes:
Burning Determination: The duration of interrupt immunity granted by this talent is now 20 seconds.
This change makes the talent more PvP viable, as the duration is now longer than melee-range interrupts. Coupled with better spell-cast protection in group PvP, it might be worth speccing into.

Also, when you look closer at the tooltip in patch 3.2 and current PTR (3.3), you might notice little change in the description.
Compare:
When Interrupted or Silenced you have a 100% chance to become immune to both mechanics for 10 sec.
vs.
When Interrupted or Silenced you have a 100% chance to become immune
to the next
Interrupt or Silence mechanic. Lasts 20 sec.
According to the new wording, Burning Determiation will only block
one
interrupt or silence (my guess would be, that the buff is consumed upon successfully blocking interrupt).
Someone might want to test this on PTRs.
