This is open now as 4.2 lunches. Go to the same place where you did the first quest, fly through the portal, and the daily is right there.

I am guessing that it unlocks when you do the normal quest, I'm 85 and have done all the quests and checked on this only after unlocking the dailies and doing Thrall's new quest.

I just finished this daily quest! Fly through the portal, grab a lance if you need it and accept the quest! This is the same as it was for the regular quest line with having to flap your wings to move around.
Avoid fire balls falling from the top, lance 10 Twilight Lancers, hand it in and don't forget to equip your weapon again!
Rinse and repeat 10 times for “无敌”翼手龙？战斗力只有5。 ;)

The portal to this quest is at 39,58 in Mount Hyjal.

Don't be like me and forget you have a lance in the bank already and then wonder why it won't let you have a new one. At least I had my Argent squire to make a bank run.

the one button spam design of this quest is atrocious! If you have any kind of carpal tunnel issues stay the heck away from this quest.
Oh, as a daily, it offers a 7g80s payout. not sure if it give Guardians of Hyjal rep because I do NOT want to cramp up my hand doing this dadblanged quest anymore

This daily quest is a mystery to me. The mount will only fly to the east. If you are facing west and you flap with the 4 button you will be flying backwards. I eventually ended up in the lava pool at the bottom/eastmost point but don't take any damage. Stuck behind a spike here I opened a ticket with a GM who told me to check out this page for help in how to control the mount for this quest. How do you steer it when it flies west to east when you flap?
Update: If you have add-ons enabled they interfere with this quest working properly.

With all the 'fire' this and 'flame' that in 4.2, I'm a little sad they didn't have a 'lava troll' involved somehow.

This quest may be extremely familiar to some of those people that remember the arcade games from the 80s. Think back to Joust. Great game but a quarter eater.

The key to success in this quest is to realize movement speed is completely irrelevant to flapping. It will always go at max speed whatever the flapping. Flapping will only change it direction. Hence, if you're in the right direction do not panic and just continue. Flapping is only for changing direction and height.

for what it's worth....I didn't have to disable my add-ons - it was like the same 'drunken jousting" experience I had when I ran my 85's through here, on the regular quest.
However, the strategy I employed was to get low in the cavern (avoiding the fire balls, as much as possible - that's sort of obvious - LOL) then to fly up, into the other jousters. Once I got to the top strata, again, I just dove back down - wash & repeat till I had all 10 hits. Worked a lot better for me than trying to chase them down & hit them head (or tail) on. I hope that helps a few folks. :)

Has anyone else noticed that if you have the quest giver targeted as you're trying to go through the portal again, it won't let you through?

Don't forget to pick the quest before starting the flight. I once spent 20 minutes chasing Twilight Lancers unable to understad why I can't kill them.

I absolutely hate this quest. Mainly because I have buckley's chance of steering Aviana's Guardian. That mount flies in more dimensions than the tardis. But anyways, whilst sitting and cussing on the ledge at the back of the cavern at coords 33.3,50.7 I discovered that if I face to the north and just wait, the Twilight Lancers literally fly straight into my lance. No more flying like a madman and a great excuse to go hang out the washing while I wait to the quest to auto-complete.

I just attempted this as the first Hyjal Daily rep. I've got the weapon armed, mount the hyppogryph. Quest is in log, but I'm getting ZERO credit for my kills. Dropped the quest and tried again. Still zero credit for kills.

If you dismount in the middle of the quest and are wondering how the hell you are supposed to turn it in when you're stranded on a rock, don't panic. Jump down into the lava so the fall won't kill you (like water, but with some fire damage...) and look for Numa Skyclaw at the very bottom of the cavern at coords (36, 49). She has more mounts for you!

I just wanted to tell people, since this hasn't been posted. I think I have triggered a glitch using the argent tournament quests, that makes it so you cant pick up a twilight lance. My advice is, do not do argent tournament quests first.

Basically every time I try to loot a twilight lance, it says you cant carry any more of those or something along those lines, even though I clearly dont have any lance sword things whatsoever on my person. I have none. Not even the argent lance or the Horde lance.

If anyone has any backround info on this, that would be helpful, Since I cant understand why I am screwed out of 1 of my ten dailys for the achieve.

Also forgot to mention I dont have any lances in my bank or guild or whatever.

Im pretty sure this has to do with argent tournament stuff though. I mean maybe when blizzard scripted the twilight lance, it has the same item ID as the other ones.

So I've been doing this daily 20+ times, the quest line leading up to it a number of times...
And today, after doing this daily for nearly a year of Cataclysm being released.
I realize this daily/quest is based off the game Joust, a game in 2D where we basically do the same thing that we do in the daily.

(ironically, that game drove me crazy, and so does this daily some days...)

All in all... touché Blizzard, touché.
