One of the funnier quests since 4.0.3! You can cudgel any of the orcs multiple times very fast. About 5-6 swings will kill them. The sound effects that accompany it are great. Boink! Boink! Bop!

When doing this quest it is a good idea to avoid the large groups lined up in formation out front. Each of the troops have a chance to see through your disguise and it can be hard to tell which one is the one that spotted you. (Although there is an animation and a speech bubble, if you're already engaged in beating someone it's easy to miss which one it was or to be delayed the ~2 seconds it takes to be unable to kill it in time.) If your disguise comes off near this pack it's almost certain death for you.

Do anytime before leaving to Chiselgrip:

Keeshan is back with either:
Burning Vengeance if you did the Redridge chain or Burning Vengeance if you did not.

These three at once:
Stocking Up
A Future Project
Mud Hunter

Then:
The Sand, the Cider, and the Orb

These two at once: Warlocks Have the Neatest Stuff and Shadow Boxing

Then:
Return to Keeshan
Chiselgrip, the Heart of the Steppes

Enables these quests, which must be completed before General Thor'izog in the main chain:
Prove Yer Allegiance
Scrapped Golems (leads to Golem Training)

Main chain continues:
A Needle in a Hellhole
A Perfect Costume (4 versions) Read the quest carefully. What creature disguise do you need?
---> Orc (given to Humans and Dwarves): 2 Hides, 4 muds, 2 thread
---> Goblin (given to Gnomes): 1 hide, 3 mud, 4 thread
---> Troll (given to Night Elves): 3 Hides, 2 mud, 1 thread
---> Ogre (given to Draenei and Worgen): 4 Hide, 1 Mud, 3 thread

I had this quest in my log but never completed it. I did all the quests up to The Spoils of War but when I came back to do this quest I did not have the disguise in by inventory.

I returned to the guy that gives you the disguise used the table and he gave me another one. But now when I try to use the disguise it just says "You can't do that right now."

So I think you need to complete this quest before completing all the quests in the area. Preferably right after you get it.

It is in your inventory. It's icon of a piece of torn red cloth. I totally forgot about it, thank you other people for telling me that :)

Time-saving tip: if you get the "You've been spotted!" message, you will receive an "Unmask" buff that counts down the seconds till you are unmasked.

You can simply right-click on the "Unmask" buff icon in the upper-right hand corner to remove it--and the unmasking will be cancelled.

I also found my costume had been removed from my inventory at some point when attempting this quest. I returned to Chiselgrip and was able to get the dwarf to make me a new one. He wouldn't talk to me until AFTER I gathered the mats from the table, however. THEN I discovered I could not USE it! For those of you who are having similar costume woes, I can only suggest opening a ticket. This is obviously a bit bugged.

Worked perfectly for me and two friends today. We all lost our disguise by being discovered, but they were still in our packs and worked fine afterwards.

After losing my disguise, and not finding it in my bags, I returned to Thelaron Direneedle to get a new one. Clicking the table simply told me there was nothing of interest there, and talking to him didn't give me any options either. I typed /reload, and once the game was back up, I was able to interact with the table and get another disguise made.

Well I was able to get 19 out of the 20 required and then got discovered and died. Since my disguise was no longer available in my inventory I went back to get another one with no problem. However when I click on it I get the message You cant do that right now. I have tried all over the area and I get the same message. I tried to relog and reload and still nothing. Also I just realized that my 19 went down to zero. Any ideas? Has anyone else had this problem?

refernce to the comic book/movie judge dredd?
havent read any of the comics yet but in the movie 1st time you see judge dredd he says "i am the law" and then he lays people out

I am unable to complete this questline, which means I can't progress in The Burning Steppes anymore. No quests become available until completing these. I go to use the Cudgel and it tells me "You cannot use this yet". So I can't complete this quest, or the Abuse of Power quest. I've done all quests available prior.
