The "followup" for this quest is from completing the side quest quest you pickup from a drop off the Air Officers (Efficient Excavations). This starts another quest chain at Schnottz's Landing, the completion of which sends you to Sullah, who gives you a long quest chain ending in a quest sending you into the Halls of Origination.

Im not sure if it matter but just targeting the enemy planes will only hit them with the homing missle, If you actually aim using the crosshairs you will hit them with the machine gun and take them out much quicker.

Don't be afraid to go afk if you need to, the plane you're in takes little to no damage

If you go back to the same spot where Jones was fighting the big burly man you can see the blokes boots with all the blood around it, kinda cool that blizz kept that little easter egg (if you would call it that.

Sure the quest was fun, but you don't even need to do anything. I just accepted the quest and watched it all, I didn't shoot a single shot, and I didn't lose a single HP either, and I got it completed.

this quest starts w/ you opening a can of whoop-as on the burly guy Harrison Jones is fighting. Literally. First you open the can. then you one shot him. I didn't notice that the first time, but just one more very cool aspect of this quest.

Definitely one of the more amusing quests in the game. If you want to run it again do NOT turn in the quest. At the end of the flight, instead of turning in the quest just go to your quest log, click on the "Tailgunner" quest and click abandon; then you can go back to where it started (the top of the Obelisk of the Sun ) and run it again. Note you might not see the quest on the map that is why I gave the coordinates, but I tried it out to be sure and if you go back and talk to the quest giver Harrison Jones, you can pick it back up.

AH MA GAWD, I love how they have all the characters from the Indiana Jones movies. The side quest you do to continue the story takes to to Belloc who is in Arc I think. Sullah is Indy's friend. HA blizz has kinda redeemed themselves from all the stuff that ticked me off about cata. Hooray!

If you're mounted and you accept the quest, the cutscene will not start fro you and thus, you will not be able to do this quest. Accept the quest while not mounted to save some time.

You can go AFK during this, the plane lands safely whether you shoot or not.

Name Tailgunner already has a nice little meaning but I guess this COULD be a small reference to Iron Maiden's Tailgunner since they also have Aces High! quest. Both songs are about the same battle.

It's been years since Cataclysm and with Cata Classic I noticed there's a Catch-22 book/movie reference in there. The plane blades killing the guy , the fighting amongst the troops and likely others if you search. To me this is a reason why Cataclysm and the older iterations of WoW are different. I find their are cheeky references to movies or other cultural things.
