If you got lost like I did, as you go down the stairs and the the entrance to your right, it will lead you to the right room.

Thought this was like any crypt room we've seen in Northrend but it wasn't =/

The quest chain is a reference to the movie The Order in which Heath Ledger's character also finds a Black Pope in the underground who is later unmasked as being a cardinal of the church.

Respawn is very fast - while reading the next quest, he respawned and the invisible wall locked me in the space with the bomb in it. I had to hearth to Trade District lol

Yea, I read the NPC's name, then the quest, and I started laughing. "24" reference for the win! That makes several references now. The Gnome starting zone has weapons named after/mimicking Star Wars objects (A Very Light Sabre actually looks like a Light Saber), a quest chain in Uldum references Indiana Jones.... I think its actually quite funny. I wonder what Blizzard with reference next? ^^

Hmmm.... Few specific suggestions as to how to do this quest so far... chit chat is nice....but not very helpful. I entered the Cathederal, went down the stairs at the second door on the right, and was immediately attacked by a mob. Shortly it was a bunch of mobs and I was dead.

On the second try I got to the bottom-looks like the tombs in the Scarlet Monastery Graveyard-and found no one but a few yellow mobs, one or two attacked. I took the stairway on the left to the bottom level btw. Went back up and took the down door to the right-a hallway, no stairs. Went around the corner and got attacked by two mobs packing punches of over 2k.

Went down more stairs and there he was. Let him have it and he was hitting me for more than 3k and jumping all over the room, but I nailed him. As previous posters advised, I got the follow-up quest and got out of there quick.

As soon as I got up the stairs, got attacked by four hard-hitting mobs as I was trying to re-buff and heal, and died again. When I walked back to the corpse I came to life outside the Cathederal in back. Over all the quest was a pain in the arsenal.

I ended up in the alcoves by the bombs when he respawned.....don't do this >.< Had to hearthstone.

This has been the most expensive quest chain ever for my mage. When I did it with a feral, it took about 15 minutes and cost less than 1G. But all the classes are equal, of course. And cloth is equal to plate, of course. And mages aggro yellows even if ferals don't, of course. About 10 deaths and 32G. Think how happy I am with the designers.

Of course it's not really a lot of money. I don't mind tough quests and welcome the new, tougher dungeons. But don't make a death-happy quest chain a prerequisite for everyone without some way of reimbursement for the classes that can only advance by dying often. Where do I submit those expenses again? Forget the expenses; I just want the time back.

After all, time is about the only thing that money can't buy.

I will probably completely bypass this with my holy priest. I came to Azeroth for relief from aggravation and stress, not to have it multiplied by a factor of five.

They must have changed it, most mobs (typically in 3's) are now yellow and I had to fight 4 or 5 guys solo to get him. Disarmed the bomb ans strolled out. Piece of cake so you might want to try it again next time.

In the end of the book several cardinals are captured and killed, and and the Illuminati organization tries to blow up the whole Vatican using an anti-matter bomb. It is placed beneath the huge chapel there (can't remember the name), and you find out that the current pope is the traitor. All in all, extremely similar

When you complete the quest just make sure you move out of the area once accepted.
Once i killed the bishop i went to hand in the quest and he respawned and i got stuck in the area and it was force fielded off and the bishop was stuck as well so i guess i could of just killed him again, but i had no mana so i just hearthed lol.

He's on a pretty fast respawn time, so if you're like me and enjoy reading the quests, accept first and then read, or you'll have to fight him again (Or Vanish, like me.)

Edit: And if you're espically unlucky, you'll get stuck behind the barrier he makes to protect his explosives and have to hearth out.

So I completed this quest on my alt tonight, I though I just had to comment on the rep gained, if your a human you will receive 420 rep to SW and 69 rep to your guild (if you have the guild tabard that gives 50% more) just thought that it was the funniest thing in the longest time...

Here is a good method of dealing with the Black Bishop if you're a spellcaster and presumably a hunter.

When you go down the stairs and see the Bishop, stay at the bottom step of the stairs and start casting away. That way you'll never have to deal with "Target must be in front of you" warning while he constantly changes position. Did this on my warlock and shaman with ease. I imagine hunters could do it like this as well.

Yes, still respawns in the matter of seconds.. had to kill this boss 3 or 4 times til i got that it must be a bug. Suicide mission if u dont act qiuckly and can get unnoticed by all the cultists on the way back. Huge advice to just zip out of there with heartstone or such after accepting the next one

and for those who want to know the short version as soon as you kill him you turn the quest in at the bombs so kill him and turn in quest can't stand it when you are looking for help and people want to give a full history of wow
