Be careful, the dragons do a knockback style attack that can easily knock you into the basilisks if you aren't careful.

Either it's bugged for me or there's another pre-req for this line. I'm 84 and he has no quests for me, still. I'm missing at least 2 more main quest hubs I think. I got the first piece of the world pillar and now I have no more quests. I scoured DeepHolm...

I went east instead of west and wondered why the quest was so hard (since all the dragons had 100% hp), make sure you go west (i.e. left on the map) and you'll find a bunch of dragons with ~30% hp. Much easier quest once I figured this out :)
