On this, make sure you don't bother DPSing Geddon down, thats not the point of the objective. Instead, use the Flameseer's Staff in your backpack to "weaken" Geddon, it is a channeled attack.

You have to get close to him to channel this, but make sure you do it inbetween his Inferno attack, else you will die very quickly.

Once you have weakened him "20 times", he will end up giving you the old Living Bomb debuff from Molten Core, which will shoot you up in the air. To counter this, there is several archways located around the small camp, stand under one and it will limit your damage.

Very fun with the lag. Very fun.

Just stand there and channel the spell and you'll finish it eventually. Move away from him when he starts using his aoe, it's 25k damage each tick.

EDIT: His aoe can hit you even if you're flying above him.

also for mages, when you have the living bomb on you, right when it's about to trigger, just ice block. your body will still jump into the air, however, if you ice blocked at the right time, you won't take any fall damage. you'll still have the iceblock when you hit the ground again.

I didn't think to look for it in my combat log soon enough, but the living bomb definitely will knock enemy players into the air. Not sure if it does damage, significant or otherwise to the opposite faction, but I presume so

This just in: Fire still hot!

To complete this quest, you need three things:

1) Flameseer's Staff from the last quest (Flamebreaker)
2) Your "Don't stand in fire" training from WotLK, and
3) The ability to count to 9.

If you dragged the Flameseer's Staff to your action bar for the last quest (Flamebreaker) you have to drag it to your bar again. (Read the tooltips. During Flamebreaker, it reads "Weaken...Blazebound Revenant." For this quest, it reads "Weaken Baron Geddon." Yeah...don't ask.)

He can be found in the middle of The Circle of Cinders (and is hard to miss). Stand out of range (charred ground marks the range of his AoE but stand a little farther back, to be on the safe side). When his AoE stops pulsing, step in, click on your staff and shoot rainbow stuff at him. When you're done, step back out of range. No worries; you'll have time. But don't try to get clever and hit him again before he starts his AoE. You won't have time, and you'll end up a pretty corpse in Hyjal.

His AoE pulses nine times. Keep count, step in, shoot rainbow at him, and step back. Repeat until quest completes.

Turn in, collect reward, and if you're a tank, you get to replace those bracers you spent months raiding Icecrown for.

End of the Supply Line and Harrying the Hunters can be done by both factions, but "The Voice of..." followup requrement is different.
Goldrinn's Ferocity and Howling Mad allows other players to share you quests next on line, but Lycanthoth the Corruptor {H} will let you be in same phase as npc.
Into the Maw!{A2 ;H ;H2}. There are 2Alliance and 2Horde variants, for each faction one from wolf spirit and one backup from main quest guy in Shrine of Goldrinn.
Whole Firelands Forgeworks(8) chain doesn't have any pre-quests. You can get first time to Hyjal and ask warlock to summon you there and do the quests. However Lightning in a Bottle {H} is needed to use the standart teleport.

Baren Geddon is at the Circle of Cinders 43:26 in Mount Hijal.
For those without coords.. just head North from the quest giver and look for the black burnt patches.

This is my new favorite quest. At the end I get to blow up the nearest member of the opposite faction without getting flagged.

There is a very easy way to do this quest without dying or taking much damage. (yes I found out the hard way my first try)

On the north side of the burnt area where Geddon is, there is an NPC named "Galrond of the Claw" who appears to be a druid in bear form. He runs in when it's safe and when Geddon is about to do damage he yells a warning and runs out. Just do what he does, when he runs in do the same and use the staff, when he runs out follow him and wait till it's safe again. Easy.

The confusing thing for me was when I turned the quest in: Malfurion acts as if Geddon was defeated or anything like that but all I did was standing there, channeling, going back etc. -> getting bomb debuff. It seemed to have no effect to him at all. So wtf is he like 'all is fine' and 'now let's move on'. Geddon is still there. Nothing happened to him. I only got him mad enough to cast living bomb on me. I r confus.

I was trying this on my paladin, level 82. I did Vashj'ir first, anyhow i tried to do this quest but it just wouldn't go up, i basically sat there for half an hour without getting a single point, i even managed to get the channeling done a few times, at the same time my bro logged on his hunter, 83 and did the quest without problems, if anyone else've got this problem, please try to relog, i'll try relogging myself now, i dunno if it works. But it might, if not try to retake the quest.

I had trouble with this quest. For the first few times I tried it the staff did not work. Finally I dropped the quest and re-acquired it. It still didn't work. Turns out the problem was that I had dragged the staff to my toolbar when I did the quest before it. When I clicked on the staff it my bag it worked fine. The one on my tool bar did not work until I replaced it with the staff from my bag.

If you are a Hunter;

Cast Deterrence and you can just sit there casting.

Cast Deterrence the moment he starts his Fire Nova and by the time if finishes, your Deterrence should as well, then just sit back and by the time he starts again its all over.

Another great way to not get any damage from the living bomb is if you are a lock just create a teleportation circle and when you go boom teleport down to the ground safely :)

Stand on the green grass. watch the Calrond of the Claw, he yells when you need to step back.
He pulses 9 times. Run forwards, do your spell, run backwards. Count the pulses, 9!, after that you can run forwards again.

The you turn into a "human bomb" run backwards under the arch and you should be fine.

Just found out that if you die while under the effects of Living bomb and release to run back, you will still have the effect and you will get knocked in the air by the bomb. Pretty funny actually.

What an incredibly stupid quest.

The need to re-equip the Fireseer's Staff in order to get it to work is the stupidest facet of all. I wasted a considerable amount of time until I read about this glitch here on WowHead.

I would have appreciated the quick power up of 30,000+ experience points IF this quest had not had such stupid parameters. It took a long time to figure out what was wrong. God. Stupid!

You need to run up to him in-between flame attacks (the fighters there will yell when to move out of the way), click the staff icon, repeat until you have 20/20.

It stops doing anything after getting to 6. Tried abandonning it several times and won't go past 6/20 everytime. Very broken.

So for whatever reason I wasn't getting credit for the quest, even after casting, and after abandoning it twice and even relogging, still noting. wrote a ticket assuming it was bugged. came to find out quests can be completed while in a raid group(which I was in while my buddy was soloing Kara). so yeah if it's not working leave the group. and you can count the ticks of the inferno but I found it much easier to just go with the Druid In bear form, as one of the other players mentioned.

Once you get all 20 stacks of weakness on the Baron with your staff, be sure you're healed decent cuz you'll become a living bomb and rocket into the air to fall to your death if your health is low from dealing with his fiery pulses.

Druids can shapeshift into Flight Form after the Living Bomb goes off and avoid fall damage.

If you find running back and forth away from the flames all the times to be tedious, position yourself beside a tree and when he starts channeling his hellfire just line of sight him behind the tree to avoid damage and step out again when its safe. You will get your 30 charges a lot quicker this way.

Just as a side note, when you've finished collecting all 20 of Baron, he will put a bomb on you that ignites after 10 seconds. The bomb itself does no damage but it does knock you really far into the air, killing most people because of fall damage. If you do not have any means of resisting this damage (i.e. Slow Fall or Levitate) just find the pillars to the West or North of Baron Geddon and stand right underneath one until the bomb explodes. You'll hit your head and take no damage at all. A headache is a lot better than a humiliating fall death on your statistics.

Yeah, don't DPS him, just get near him and activate the staff, get next to the bear and when he tells you to bugger off, follow him then go back with him.
He will indicate when the fire bursts are about to happen.

Actually this quest is relatively easy for a Discipline Priest. Make sure if the staff is re-equipped to your action if it was already equipped in the previous quest. If you are a priest use Power World Shield when the druid tells you to fall back. This way you receive no damaging in the upcoming attacks.

When cata first started, people didnt understand the quest or the barons mechanics...much like in vanilla really when he was a raid boss.

I should have taken a screenschot at the time because baron was surrounded by a mountain of skeletons. and iam talking so many that you could LITERALLY not see the ground anymore. too many bones ontop of bones of all races in a circle matching the distance he hits you with his ability..and he was still surrounded by 3 dozen people still doing it wrong eventually falling over dead.

Come from behind. There are two trees behind him, a wide one and not so wide one. Stand behind the smaller tree. You won't get any line of sight damage. Watch for the bear to run in. Step to the left of the tree and get close enough to be in range, click/press the Flameseers Staff and channel till you reach 20. If the bear says to run, go back behind your tree. Might need to do this a couple times till you get it timed right. Once you get to 20, you are turned into a living bomb. Run to the columns and stand between two that have a stone connector. You'll blow up but the "roof" will bounce you back. If you have a way to mitigate fall damage, just enjoy the ride.
