Consuming Darkness
- Spawns a short range AOE underneath the player. Should be moved out of immediately to reduce damage taken.
-
Blackhowl's Will
- A strong ranged attack that eliminates your energy. This cast should be interrupted by any means (Kidney Shot, Kick, talented Deadly Throw, Blind, Gouge, other).
In phase 2 he adds a fourth spell to his arsenal:
-
Shadow Breath
- This is a negligible ability, and only requires the player to move behind Creed. Creed will not turn while channelling the second half of the cast, which allows the player to take no damage and allows the Rogue to deal some easy damage. Do not waste a stun or interrupt on this cast, just move. The channeled part of the cast is not affected by Mind Numbing Poison.
Phase 3 he goes Berserk:
- Berserk: Deals 100% more damage, activated 2 minutes after you start fighting Creed.

About
Lord Hiram Creed has
1.8 million health
and summons no adds. He is stunnable and interruptible. Theoretically, he has two phases, but looking at the fight as a single phase encounter is much simpler. He has the following abilities:
黑嚎之愿
is an interruptible ability that will drain all of your energy. It has a 1.5 second cast time and you must make sure to interrupt this as often as possible (every cast, ideally). If your
脚踢
is unavailable, you can stun Creed instead.
黑暗噬体
is a void zone that Creed will regularly place under you. Simply move out of it to avoid taking damage. The spell has a cast time, and Creed will cast the ability at the location where you were standing at the start of the cast, so you can even avoid all of the damage if you move quickly enough. You can stun him to stop this cast, but it is not needed.
暗影吐息
is a standard frontal cone Shadow Breath attack that Creed starts casting after he goes below 75% health. It has a 1 second "build-up" cast, giving you ample time to move behind the boss.
4 minutes after pulling him, Lord Hiram Creed becomes enraged, increasing his damage dealt by 500%.
The fight against Lord Hiram Creed is not difficult, and it can be performed as any of the tree Rogue specialisations.
Tips
Keep a high uptime on
恢复
throughout the fight;
Make use of your cooldowns regularly, to mitigate the damage that you take (
暗影斗篷
,
闪避
, etc.);
Use
麻痹药膏
to make it easier to interrupt or avoid his casts;
Cast
致盲
on Lord Hiram Creed, giving yourself ample time to restore health (Recuperate and bandages);
Overall, as long as you are consistently avoiding the void zones and breath attacks, as well as interrupting Blackhowl's Will, you should have no problem whatsoever.
After killing Lord Hiram Creed and looting the
一瓶黑龙血
, you must return the quest to Zazzo Twinklefingers. He will give you a follow-up quest,
.

When I did this earlier today, there was actually another rogue already there (stealthed) and Creed was tapped. We ended up working together (out of party, given he was the other faction), and it appears we both got credit for it. So it's quite possible that if you have any rogue buddies, or just spot anyone else there, you can make this quest significantly easier.

You're missing out if you cheese the first part. This is the probably most fun Ive had on a quest in a long time though it is tricky and may take some time.
Buffs that help during Creed fight - kings drum, fort scroll, food, flask, potions
As Combat - Disarm, Kidney Punch as often as possible. Always have Recup up. Use defensive cds on cd. Get out of the bad and interrupt. Gouge/Bandage macro can help too. I imagine Sub might even be easier for this fight.
Also, (thankfully) you don't have to do the stealth part again if you die to the boss.

I just got him last night. I sent and respecced a survival combat spec which included imp recouperate, reinforced leather, and quickening. Here it is for now:
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/dalaran/Kabalas/talent/primary
The big key is the blind glyph. The buffs i had were an agility flask, dodge food, deadly poison, and instant poison. You can put mind numbing in place of instant if you feel you need some extra time on the interrupts, but as you get the hang of it, you wont really need it.
I engange him with a stun and beat the hell out of him getting a 5 point recoup up as soon as i can. I think get him stunned with 5 points again as soon as I can. When he comes up and i have to engage him evasion comes into play. By now you should be doing pretty good damage to him and hopefully he willl change forms. This is when it gets easier. Just continue interrupting the blackhowl's will (that is a must) and using your varioius survival cooldowns. I start kiting when he drops those shadow bombs as soon as I see the cast bar. His shadow breath is a time for free reign on beating him up.
Once he got me to about 40K i blinded him. This is where the blind glyph becomes of major importance. It removes all your bleeds so he stays stunned. I bandage up and let recouperate go all the way through so I am basically healed all the way up.
Then its just a matter of repeating. I couple cooldowns will come off and allow you to use them again. Keep the interrupt on the howl and avoid the aoe and the fight is yours with lots of life to spare.
I ended up not really using it, but the glyph for cloak of shadows that reduces your damage by 40% while its up is a good idea to take also. The fight really does make you use all your rogue abilities and as long as you dont get impatient and force things, the daggers fear and vengeance will be yours!

-This is now out of date.-
I like to play assassination but with my usual raid spec i found i couldn't kill him. So i decided to respec for this fight and found it was a walk in the park with the right talents.
here is the spec that I chose -
https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/talent#fcIfzsGzorobZbhc:RVqimoVz0
The key talents for this fight would have to be
Improved Recuperate
,
Deadened Nerves
,
Quickening
, and at least 1 point in
Deadly Brew
for kiting.
If your health is running low and you have to kite, make sure it is after you interrupt
Blackhowl's Will
so you wont get hit by that.

After tons of trying to kill this guy. I've decided to respec everything.
My talent tree -
https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/talent#fchfrchzRGobZbGz:VRqimRczM
Including glyph choice. See glyph at bottom right.
You start sapping him and it will trigger
and should reduced the damage taken by 70%.
After effect end, disarm him, keep in mind you also need to interrupt the
黑嚎之愿
and move out the purple ground. Keep up recuperate and use evasion if your HP below 60%.
The breath is easy to dodge. Always use kidney shoot and gauge. Clock of shadow is useful when there is too many
黑暗噬体
or didn't make in time to interrupt.
Item that can help - Agility Flask, dodge or agility food, Health potion, bandage, and any profession perks.
Don't vanish, it will reset the boss and port you back to the gnome.

I did this as an Assassination rogue with no extra buffs without having to use blind or bandages.. It was fairly simple. To sum up the encounter as Assassination you MUST do the following:
- Always have recuperate up. ALWAYS.
- Use his abilities against him. Meaning don't stun him if he is using Shadow Breath. Just step out of it and wait for him to start swinging on you again.
- Keep Dismantle up (it should always be on cool down)
- Don't stack your cool downs. Meaning don't use CR if you just popped evasion or if you stunned him.
- Kicking or interuppting the spell the drains your energy is must. If for some reason he starts casting it while you are running away from the AoE use your CoS (Cloak of Shadows) or your smoke bomb.
IF you absolutly need to bandage and don't have the Blind Glyph you can sprint around the room and he will be far enough back where he wont be doing damage to you, and you can wait for your DoT's to fade. Before you start running away try to get a 5 point Recup up. Start kiting him, blind, bandage/potion.
I used Instant / Deadly poison with the Crippling Poison spec ( which was a help so I could kite him while recuperate ticked a little bit)

Done as Sublety rogue. Fairly easy.
Tip: don't kick Shadow Breath. You can take advantage of the fact that he doesn't move or turn around while casting. Give him some Backstab damage for example, or make a quick First Aid heal if you need.

I managed on my second try as subtlety, pvp spec with quickening and imp recup in almost full Ruthless gear. I even forgot to reapply my poisons!
Fairly easy fight. Keep recup up. Just use all your defensive cd's (dismantle, cr, evasion, blind, gouge, sprint) one at a time when your health goes down a bit. He did about 2.5k dps on me, and i did 2k healing per second (not counting overhealing). the fight took close to four minutes for me to finish.
Strafe around to avoid the rings. Get behind him for some backstabbing action when he casts the breath thing. Kick the energy stealing cast. Pull out every damage cd you have out of your hat in the beginning to have them off cd again later in the fight. I timed this with my first dismantle so wouldn't have to worry about my health during this.
This is a lot like a PVP 1vs1 against someone that sucks, but has 15 times your health.

This is insanely difficult to solo. Don't take the mindset that it's easy and be ready to realize that you may not be able to complete this.

Friend and I found a good 2man strategy for Creed. When you have two rogues, you can have the lower-dps rogue kite him, ONLY hitting when Creed is stunned to keep Recuperate up. The rogue hitting Creed should help you keep aggro with Tricks. Both of you should alternate stuns. Don't stand in #$%^, and enjoy your daggers!

Not sure if this is common knowledge, but noticed it had not been mentioned. Using blind will reset his 2 minute enrage timer, so make sure you don't pop this ability prematurely, as it won't be up when you need it otherwise. Was a very long fight for my rogue who was fairly undergeared. Hope this helps, and good luck to all you rogues out there.

As an assassination spec, I did two things that helped me in the beginning of this fight.
First, I built up 5 combo points on Creed by using cheap shot and mutilate, then I vanished. He will keep the five combo points even though you are no longer in combat.
I then waited for vanish to reset, sapped, pre-potted a potion of Tol'vir, re-stealthed, used vendetta, and then used the 5 combo points from step one to activate recuperate, before opening with garrote. Having that 5 combo recuperate going from the start made a big difference.
Enjoy

this guy started off impossible to beat, but it turns out with a little practice he's not so bad... the only reason i beat him was thanks to my poisons, i used the poison that slows your opponents casting time, and the poison thats slows their movement(otherwise he was casting to fast for me to react and know whether to interupt, run to the side, run behind him, whatever) but once i got the hang of knowing what to do for each move, i really suprised myself and took em down rather fast. save ur kick and kidney shot(only two i had to use although gouge works too) for the shadow's vill or whatever it's called, the one that takes 18,000 health and drains ur energy. just run thru him and attack from behind when he uses shadow breath, and simply move out of purple shadow puddles on ground all while keeping recuperate up. remember combat rogues that recuperate has better results when u use revealing strike.

Surviving this thing isn't much of a problem. I done 75% of this fight without even having the recuperate up as combat rogue - my gear sucks and I found DPS to be the problem, to kill him before he enrages.
If you find yourself in a similar position consider using deadly+instant poisons combination instead of utility and focus on dps as much as possible. Flasks, potions and stuff probably helps, but I had none of them and still killed him with 1 minute to spare when focused on killing rather than surviving.
My gear is a horrid mix of ilevel 371 PvP stuff, 378 PvP swords and 390 PvP offset pieces. PvP focused spec.

Just beat him. awesome feeling especially when i always died like at 80% of his health before :)
So, i didn't change my Combat spec at all (the common one used on elitist). But since i was like 98% leveling as a Subtlety, combat is kinda new for me and i play really bad.
And here what i did really change:
- replaced 3 major glyphs to the following: Kick, Gouge, Blind. First, i thought about Glyph of Gouge but it's unnessessary here, i bearly used Gouge like 1-2 times (requires too much energy). Kick was enough for interrupting Blackhowl's Will.
- changed Instant Poison on MH to Mind-numpting Poison.
I think everyone here had already stated to have Recup (after 5combo) up always. Also, i find it really easier when boss learn ability of Shadow Breath. It's really easy to evade and he doesn't do any other damage, like stun almost that cool :D After he finished his Shadow Breath, if recup is still up feel free to stun him.
Thanks for all your nice and helpful comments!
PS: my ilvl was 366 when i beat him.

Here's something to make the fight easier:
if you and a healer have done the Silverpine Forest quests (possibly only the ones in Gilneas, but I did all of them just in case), the healer can fly to you and be in your (but not Creed's) phase. This means that they can't target Creed, but they CAN target you, so you dps while they heal you. Made the fight infinitely easier. I was a 350 or so ilvl, so I could only get him down to around 75% alone. At 85, it didn't take long at all to do the quests in Silverpine, assuming you and your healer haven't already done them.

I was trying creed for three hours (since i had blue and green daggers) then i found a very good combat specc but that was not the key because i was not doing enough dps to kill him b4 he berserks but i found out that sometimes blind resets the timer of berserk ( this happens sometimes not always)

Did this today on my poorly geared alt rogue as assassination. Tried it a couple of times with the basic raid build and had my butt handed to me. Switched to my leveling build that had improved recup and deadened nerves and no venomous wounds and it was pretty easy. Keep recup up, kidney shot while he isn't doing his frontal cone, and interrupt all the will's that you can. I didn't have mind numbing on me and didn't want to risk having to stealth through town again so had to be quick but those would be a huge help I am sure just putting it on your thrown and applying it that way. Didn't dismantle or blind because the need to never came up with the constant kidney shots.

Another tip, when you get to Creed, jump into a Battleground (any will do but the larger the better so AV is ideal) soak up all those pre match raid buffs then /afk out again.
yeah it's a bit under handed, but we are rogues ;)

Just finished this quest not to long ago on my rogue and I must say it was fairly easy to down Creed. After reading these posts I noticed the one thing that I had done differently was having Shadow Protection up. I couldn't take a hit when he went enraged and started taking 90k-120k damage and I only had 126k hp and I found that with Shadow Protection on I could continuously fightlonger without having to use blind until Creed was near 30% where I dropped to 40k hp for the first time about 3 minutes into the fight. The fight didnt last much longer after that

Just thought I should comment, I successfully killed him as an ilvl 376 fully pvp geared rogue.
Followed some of the strategies above, just make sure to use everything you have in your arsenal, make sure, if you're going to kite wait until he casts Blackhowl's Will right before you do.
It isn't as impossible as it seems when you first try, so keep trying.
Also i had no consumables, but i did use bandages.

I just got him down with 7551 dps, so it doesn't take much. No kiting. No blind. Minimal stuns.
Buffs: Flask of the Winds, Skewered Eel
Poison: Instand Poison (MH), Mind Numbing Poison (OH)
Opener: Kidney shot then Killing Spree then Combat Readiness
Cooldowns: Berserking and Adrenaline Rush
Damager: Sinister Strike
Finishing Move Priority: Recuperate, Slice n Dice, Kidney Shot
Heals: I brought Rogue Draughts and Dense Embersilk Bandages but I didn't need them.
What I learned from my previous wipes: Blind can cause you to hit the enrage timer.
