She starts out at 50% and you have to heal her to full while your raid has to deal with all sorts of minions arthas sends to stop you.

Looking like it's not possible for any non-directly targeted spells to work on her. Prayer of Mending won't bounce to her, Chain Heal won't chain to her and Beacon won't heal her.

Well, this seems to be an interesting fight, finally something different and fresh. I got tired of all that "DPS: stick your dagger in this, tank: tank, healer: well, heal". I hope we see more of this in future patches/ expansions....Variety is the spice of life.

Considering Beacon is castable on any healable (and buffable) target, I forsee healadins being VERY useful on this fight - Chain Heal, Wild Growth, and Circle of Healing will all have to target her to heal both her AND the raid, while healadins can heal whoever they want and still make a large contribution to the fight - in other words, only if the raid members are within 15 yards of Valithria will it make the AoE spells viable.
In short, healadins ftw.
EDIT: Kinda confused about why I was downrated - beacon isn't party only... so, y'know, I don't really get what I was wrong about.

Note that I haven't done the fight so some of the mechanics might be different than some of the assumptions I'm about to make.
Circle of Healing will normally heal only the lowest raid/party members within range of the target, which does not include the target if it is not in raid/party or if it is not one of the 5 (or 6 with glyph) with lowest health in range. I can even hit a normal boss with it and it will heal the players near the boss. If PoM won't bounce then I doubt Circle of Healing will work or that Divine Hymn will be of any use.
I'm going to take a wild stab that Valithria can't reach out and use any nearby lightwells either.
Beacon of Light would not work as it's party-only, but Earth Shield ought to work.
Hand of protection won't help much since most of the damage from the adds appears to be magical, hand of sacrifice may help some if the adds hitting the boss can be minimized so that the transfered damage doesn't threaten the caster. You have to heal the damage anyway if you don't want your paladin to die, but there are lots of easy ways to splash healing to a raid member for free.
I would think of primary importance would be damage-reduction (Grace, Inspiriation, etc) and healing-increase buffs (tree-druid/improved pally aura and glyphed Guardian Spirit ftw). Fire, frost, and nature resists would be nice, but I'm not aware of any targetable versions like priests have for shadow resist. Divine spirit could be a small help if she had any natural health regen during combat, but that seems unlikely.
I would expect you'd want to avoid adding any stam buffs (Mark of the Wild, Blessing of Kings, Fortitude, etc) as they generally add a lot of max health to an NPC without raising actual health any. Blessing of sanctuary probably falls in this category unless the majority of the damage healed during the fight is from adds instead of the initial missing 50%.
Lay on Hands ought to work. Pally tank could use trinkets/cooldowns to hit 60k maybe, throw it on her with Guardian Spirit up and manage a 84k heal to start things? Could it crit too? So much fun stuff to try.
I apologize if the above is a little heavy with priest abilities, but that's my healer ;)

As the encounter is marked as over when Valithria Dreamwalker casts her AoE spell dealing 10,000,000 damage to all enemies within range I suppose it may be, depending on the layout of the citadel,possible to pull Sindragosa to Valithria and have a vast jump on her health pool. Just a thought, but it will probably be impossible due to a blocked passage until Valithria is fully healed or trash of some sort. Perhaps blizzard will overlook this because this seems like a unique encounter. We shall have to wait and see.

Sorry for the.. stupid question, but..
Would it be a good idea for Holy Paladins to switch out their weapons/shields at the start of the fight to high Stam ones (PvP/Tanking) for large LoH heals, or do you think the few seconds of heals with normal gear would be better than the heal?
Answer is probably obvious, But I'm not a Paladin healer so I've no idea what kinda heals they pull off in such short time. (All I know is they heal "a lot")

It's really nice that these fights in icc are so varied.
An encounter that lets healers truly have their moment in the spotlight is pretty cool.
However I fear that holy paladin stacking will be a tactic for this encounter.

Valithria will be able to help you a little during the fight. Every so often she will open 6 (on 25-player) portals to the Emerald Dream.
So we finally get to see at least a little bit of the Emerald Dream? I've been waiting a very long time to see what that place looks like - I hope even just the glimpse we get won't be disappointing :P

I have bolded the important part of her article below:
For the fun of it, I equipped Spark of Hope, the new Ephemeral Snowflake (which -- yes -- returns 11 mana on each HoT tick), and Idol of Awakening alongside 3/3 Revitalize, and watched myself gain mana spamming Rejuvenation.
Switching in
Idol of Flaring Growth
for raids still saw me completely unable to drop below 80% on Festergut despite topping heals.
I would suggest that perhaps this line of thinking might be pursued for the encounter, perhaps glyphing
Rapid Rejuvenation
even if it is not your usual setup, just for this encounter.
Glyph of Rejuvenation
is unlikely to be of any help here, since if you're having that much trouble that you need to get her up above 50%? You're probably letting her take too much damage in the first place, and is useless from 50% to 100% HP. As far as the other two glyphs are concerned, it is probably best to stick with the tried and true Nourish and Swiftmend glyphs.
Wild Growth
is also unlikely to be of much help here unless you target her with it, inferring by that the text for Wild Growth itself reads, "
Heals up to 5 friendly party or raid members within 15 yards of the target
for 1442 over 7 sec." Since she is unlikely to be considered a part of your party or raid, we can probably expect Wild Growth to not splash to her, unless Blizzard decides to make some code changes especially for this encounter.
Swiftmend will probably be used as soon as it is off cooldown. Nourish will likely be spammed during free GCDs. Lifebloom will likely be used in a tank-heal fashion, quickly throwing three stacks on the dragon and letting it bloom each time. I don't *think* Healing Touch will be of much use here, aside from either 1) Using it to jumpstart the healing with Nature's Swiftness and trinket usage, or 2) using it to saveheal a raid member.
Even if one does manage to avoid all the mana void zones, given that one of the mechanics of the fight will be the dragon opening portals to the Emerald Dream for players to get the
Emerald Vigor
buff, it can probably be assumed that this fight will be significantly more healing-intensive than your usual raidboss. That there is no achievement to complete this encounter without this buff might be an indication of just how much of a drain healing this is going to be.
(But seriously, is anyone else as excited as I am that for once, Trees won't see those ridiculous overheal numbers for once? =D)

Here's how the dream works. The portals start off as small green orbs, which will grow to full size portals after 10-20 sec. Inside the dream, there's nothing to fight or dps. There are various clouds floating around the room, but they aren't targetable. What you have to do is to fly through them - in the dream, you have the power of flight, which is controlled the same as anywhere else. Each cloud you fly through gives you and anyone else nearby one stack of the buff. It's possible to carry stacks over through dream phases, though it will take practice with getting clouds close enough to the beginning and end of each phase. I haven't encountered any limit to the stacks yet; expect to have 30 or more by the end of the fight if everything goes perfectly.
On 25-man, 3-4 should be going down to the dream. Any more and there will be too much trouble maintaining stacks of the buff. Any less and you won't have enough healing to meet the soft enrage timer. When they're outside the dream, they should heal Valithria exclusively. 2-3 other healers will be sufficient for raid heals. You may also wish to have one healer dedicated to healing Valithria who doesn't go down into the dream.

In 25 man she seems to have a soft enrage timer around 7 mins where she loses about 1000k hp every 3 seconds or so.

Just did this in 25man. I'll add what I noticed since this thread seems fairly bare thus far. I'm a Hunter so this is all DPS perspective stuff.
We used 8 healers on our winning run. We assigned 3 healers and 3 caster DPS to go into the portals.
DPS was split evenly on the two sides of the room where the mobs spawn, with one dedicated tank on each side. We tried to stay closeish to the dragon in the center of the room at all times so healing was easy to spread around as needed.
There was some discussion about what causes the Burning Skeletons to begin casting Lay Waste. Instead of messing with trying to avoid triggering it we decided to just call out whenever a skeleton showed up and redirect the DPS to zerg the skeletons down. Beyond this DPS generally stayed on their respective sides.
The worms that spawn after an Abom dies take a couple seconds to show up. They're standard low-health high damage mobs that need to die ASAP. The worms are vulnerable to snare effects and -will- set off Hunter traps. I had a great deal of success Frost Trapping the aboms so that the worms would get caught in it just as soon as they spawned; and then placing an Explosive Trap down just as soon as the Aboms died so that the spawning worms would immediately set it off. This combined with Death & Decay or any other fire-and-forget style AoE damage will annihilate the worms.
The Frostbolt using skeletons can be kicked. They're really not scary at all if you interrupt them.
Suppresors will greatly slow down your fight progression with the debuff they put on the dragon. They won't aggro you so ranged should begin firing on them just as soon as they appear.
As a Surv Hunter I found everything dying too quickly to bother with Black Arrow and had infinitely more success using fire traps in its place.
Because you're fighting a ton of lesser mobs instead of a boss I considered using a Cunning pet for Feeding Frenzy (more damage to low health mobs) but we won the fight before I got around to giving this a try.

I haven't confirmed this yet, but the swim speed increase from a warlock's Glyph of Unending Breath may increase movement speed while in the dream realm. I noticed an increase in our healers' performance after buffing them with it, but it may have been from experience.

My group will be giving it's first attempt soon on it.
Q: My heal set is a mix, mostly T9 but some ICC and older Ulduar gear. I'm primarily a DPSer but in this fight is it worth it for an ENH shaman to go secondary spec heals and throw Chain heals at her? will it help the raid, or will the loss of DPS (I typically am second or third on meters) not make up the extra healing?
I guess more generically: Does more healers make this fight easier and should DPS who can go heals to make it faster?

We did the fight last night on 10-man, and after changing our tactics around a bit, here's what we did for the kill.
Our setup was a bit melee heavy (ranged DPS rule on this fight), with 1 tank (paladin), 3 healers (resto shaman, disc priest, resto druid) and 6 dps (2 DKs, 1 fury warr, 1 rogue, 1 arcane mage, 1 lock).
One very important thing to note about the adds, is that they can all be stunned, rooted, interrupted (except the Blazing Skeletons' Lay Waste ability). As a paladin tank
Holy Wrath
is your friend. Use it once the adds start piling up.
I was tanking and tried to stay roughly in the middle, moving towards each new mob as they spawned and then returning to the middle.
Risen Archmages
Interrupt! Not so much for the frost aoe damage, but it's even more important to avoid the slow effect if you're melee heavy. Can be 'tanked' a melee plate DPS, as long as people are awake and interrupting. If you're a mana user and tanking this, be very quick to move out of the Mana Void zone, it will nuke your mana pool before you know what hit it.
Blazing Skeletons
MUST DIE FAST. Do NOT interrupt the Fireball Cast. It doesn't hurt for much and if you interrupt it, the mob will switch directly to casting Lay Waste.
Suppressors
Have NO aggro table, so assign a DPS to each side to kill them. They're on a one-minute timer, with their numbers increasing every time. In our case, we put a Death Knight on either side.
Blistering Zombies
We had our Arcane mage and warlock focus on this. It can be rooted, so any mage worth his salt should be able to kite it around. Melee can help out if they want to, just make sure they move away before it explodes (it has a cast time, so they should be able to avoid it).
Gluttonous Abominations
Should be tanked by the designated tank. Face it away from the rest of the raid, but be ready to dispell the Gut Spray in case it hits any bystanders. It will spawn a bunch of worms once it dies, that must be tanked (they hit for ~3000 damage AND stacks a DoT on whoever it hits). Rogues should save their Tricks of the Trade+Fan of Knives combo for the worms.
Portals
Every time the portals were up (3 portals on 10man) , we had two of our healers go through on a rotation and pick up stacks. That leaves an extra portal open, but in our case we chose not to have DPS go through, given that the DPS lost during their time away wouldn't be covered by the potential DPS boost. However, it's useful in case one of your DPS wants the

Sitting on about 3k SP in my Raid Kit... and a nice healthy stack of the green stuff, allowed me to easily push out some juicy 50k non-crits without blowing CD... this throughout the raid and beacon'd to the boss? Do not rotate healers because it makes the fight a LOT longer and probably a wipe.
Last night we tried something we didn't last week on 25. First our healing combo was 2 holy palas, resto shamy, disc priest ,holy priest and a resto druid. First week we had a tactic of 2 paladins and one mage entering, turned out to be not enough since we wiped all the time at 32mil no mater what we do. Yesterday one paladin and resto shaman going in and one pala stayed out with the Beacon on the boss all the time while spamming the raid. We healed it full hp with no bigger problems. What was the difference? Well first time we got 2 "major" healers who took bigger part of amount healed on themselves but we had left with 4 healing the raid and sometimes boss.Second time we had 3 healers doing huge healing, 3 healing the boss and 4 healing the raid all the time, this way we got one extra healer with that beacon and shamy did nothing less then paly would do. Maybe this isn't good tactic or something but we did encounter without any problems. WATCH for frostbolts it can s#$ew you up very badly if you are the one entering the portal because it is mostly matter of second or two to refresh the stacks.

I was able to place my Beacon on Dreamwalker and heal the raid with my heals successfully being transferred to Dreamwalker. Usually if you can place a Beacon on your target then your heals will be transfered to them.

- they do big aoe damage that damages both the dragon AND the players, usually you have a 10 seconds merit time to kill them

- they have very low hp and,in first glance, they don't seem like a big threat,they spawn from the dead abominations. BUT they,each one,do HUGE damage and leave a stackable dot,making them the n1 reason for dead dps AND tanks.

- they explode when they die,thus should be killed fast enough and be careful not to asplode on your melee

- you should kill them ONLY when you know your tanks can handle the worms, aaveragely high hp, low damage done by themselves, when they die they spawn the worms which is the real threat

- if you have other adds,leave a rogue on them for interupts, even when they actually hit,they aoe isn't so huge, they leave though circles on the ground that explode pretty fast and basically can be wipers.
note: melee dps have the same prio except they should avoid blistering zombie instead of killing them

I nearly hit my keyboard when 2 times in a row instead of HP increase our raid witnessed the dragon's health going down to 35%...omg. It turned out to be DK's fault and his Hysteria on Vali...lol.
The boss will be a good challengle to your raid dps and maintarget healer hps and aoe healers endurability not to go OOM, as the packs of mobs do their job and put a quite descent pressure on the raid.
probably the best healers setup for this encounter are restor shaman, holy pala and holy priest. we had this setup and shaman and paladin went into the portal to pick up stacks of the buff.
i can't say my raid was low geared but it took us 3 innervates on holy priest to help her healing us while shaman and pala were busy in the emerald dream.
IMO that is an axcellent and interesting encounter that can teach you to play in a team :)

Holy paladin tips & tricks (with some other general items too):
Macro your Beacon to Valithria because your focus clears when entering portals.
/target Valithria
/cast Beacon of Light
Keep your Judgements of the Pure buff active.
Cast Beacon & Judgements when on the move to/from portals and as you're falling out.
Use a timer for Beacon and Judgement or get used to overcasting.
Heal yourself or raid members that are standing close to Valithria to proc Glyph of Holy Light heals onto the dragon as well.

Mentioned @ StratFu: "Gear as if you have infinite mana." Look at gear, talent, and glyph strategies for a Flash of Light build but spam Holy Light. At a minimum try swapping a couple pieces of gear and using the SoL Glyph.
Cooldown stacking is your friend. Create a macro to pop wings, 2pc t10 bonus, trinkets, potion, etc. Work out with your raid to use Heroism and Guardian Spirit at the same time.
Time your cooldowns. Use the above cooldowns (with no potion) at 0 or 1 portals so they are available later in the fight during Heroism.
Teamwork: Have Guardian Spirit up every other time you exit a portal. Time your own cooldowns, Heroism, Power Infusion, etc to happen at the same time.
Bloodlust/Heroism hack: If you have 2 shaman (1 in portal, 1 outside) you can cast it once while the healers are inside the portal (helps catch up on adds) and then a second time for the healers exiting the portals.
I've healed this fight 20 attempts using the paired Onyxia trinkets (

) and the proc has been healing Valithria
every time
much more than half the time.

This encounter we used in 10m:
Resto Druid (myself) = RaidRx + Dreamwalker
Holy Pally = Designated Dream healer
Holy Priest = Designated RaidRx
We "downed" or "raised" it on 2nd attempt.
Pretty simple encounter. I kept LB stacks, Rejuvenate, and Regrowth ticking on Dreamwalker whenever I can, while keeping Rejuvenate on all Raid members, and Swiftmend or NS+Healing touch anyone who is in need of emergency heal. It is especially important at 75%-80% hp to BL/Heroism, and this is the best time to throw a very very fast Tranquility and all ur big heals on Dreamwalker. If you target Dreamwalker, your Wildgrowth will heal her too.
DPS got the hardest job in this fight as they must kill certain target very fast so you got to have good DPS. Tanks must pick up Abominations and they are to be dealth last by dps.

From our experience with the fight, Holy Priests are really good here: we keep one outside, he heals the raid (usually enough), and uses Guardian Spirit when the other two healers come out of the portals.
We also use Bloodlust when we have around 20 stacks, though it doesn't really help Resto Druids.

Had the encounter bug after topping off the boss, apparently the Rot Worms from the abominations don't despawn and prevent the door to the room from entering. The raid wiped right after getting her to 100% and nobody could get back into the room.

Make your priests go Holy.
Guardian Spirit
increases healing taken by 40% for 10 seconds.
The Glyph
makes it a 1 minute cooldown.
This isn't just healing taken from the Priest, it's all healing, you pair this up with her stacking debuffs, heroism, and everything you got (blood dk's, gift of narru, vampiric embrace, etc) then this will be a pretty quick fight.

A trick we found out to work insanely well in our 25 man was to do this:
1. Have a hunter get a tenacity pet, any will do.
2. Make sure it's spec'ed into
Blood of the Rhino
.
3.
Beacon
Dreamwalker
4. Park the pet (put it on stay) under her.
5. Heal the pet.
6. ?
7. PROFIT!
Now, it may seem weird for a hunter to use a tenacity pet in a raid, but there's a reason for this. Blood of the Rhino increases healing done to the pet by 40%. With Dreamwalker beaconed, she'll get 40% more heals just by healing the pet alone.
If anyone is wondering what a good spec would be, it would be

Our group did this last night
we do this in a very easy way
1 tank is enough for this fight....
2 melee kill suppressor as soon as possible
other stay in center and kill adds....
we have 4 healer....
resto druid on raid all the time
me (holy pala) on raid with beacon on Valithria
other 2 healer (1 restodruid and 1 holy priest) go inside portals every time they spawn... after 4 portal they have 18-20 stack each....
at this point we did Heroism, and Valithria is full healed, 1.30 minute before berseker...

Regarding buffs on the lizard:
Wouldn't stam buffs on her actualy just make our job alot harder? I havnt noticed if kings and preist buffs have actualy increased her overall health, but I am assuming they do. Since she is never in any danger of dying I would suggest single target buffs on pets and warriors in the buff stage before fight, if she takes more health. Anyone know if this is accurate?
Also, a concern about Beacon:
I know we can beacon her and continue to heal raid. However, does that stack directly benefit raid members or only her? In other words, if she is the beacon, she is not the healers target and if that stacking buff only increases healing done to her then she might not be getting the benefit of the cloud stack. I think other pally healers will understand what I'm talking about on this one.
Any thoughts?

Things to note. The 25m heroic portals are finnicky finnicky pains in the arse. These redheaded spawn of the green portals will do anything in their redheaded power to keep you from going into them. Jump your toon and click the portal? You aren't getting in. Oh, and don't even think about clicking them twice. It's one or done son. Seriously tho, these portals are buggy as can be still. I lost stacks 2 times in three attempts on a portal simply not doing anything after I clicked to mount it. Made me a sad panda.
Also, this is a wonderful fight for resto shams who wants to artificially inflate their healing numbers. You know who you are. You're the guy spamming riptide+HWs on the abom on Professor Putricide between the oozes. Well, glyph of healing wave is your ticket to big ego inflated numbers on this fight. After 20 stacks and a riptide+HWx3 (or 4) rotation you'll be healing yourself for 10k plus on top of your 50k+ HWs on the lady dragon.

I am a holy paladin that has done the fight on 10m/25m/10m heroic and found that you can use beacon of light and glyph of holy light to achieve some insane numbers on this encounter.
Beacon of Light normalizes the heals that are cast between the Beacon target and the Heal target for % based healing buffs (i.e. paladins 5% healing increase, rogue's quick recovery, warlocks demon armor, etc). However if you park something, or yourself next to the dragon and you heal your beacon will heal the normalized amount of the direct heal plus the increased glyph of holy light heal will splash the dragon. The glyph of holy light heal can be like 10-20k heals after you have a sufficient amount of stacks.
Using this I was able to achieve ~40k HPS on 25 man (7 million of the dragon's total health). Using my AW/DI at the very start of the fight and then once again around 3-4 mins into the encounter when we used bloodlust after healers had about 20-25 stacks.

I can't speak for heroic 25, but on heroic 10, Dreamwalker still has the same health that she does on normal ~12m. The difference is that her health declines at a constant rate. The portals that spawn are red and not green ("corrupt"?). I believe there are only 10 Nightmare Clouds that will give you
Twisting Nightmares
and not the Emerald Vigor. Only difference is that you'll be stacking a small DoT on yourself. It's pretty easy to mitigate. Just be careful when dropping out of the dream realm. If you're too high up and you have the DoT, you're at risk to kill yourself on the fall.
We tried our normal strategy that we used for 10 normal of just 2 healers going into the portal. Four minutes into the fight, we barely got her above 60% because of the "decay". We had to move to 3 healers going into all three portals every time with a 4th healer on the raid full time. We got her to 85%+ before we got overwhelmed (only using 1 tank and the rest DPS).
Throwing 3 healers into the portal with 10 clouds can be rough. Healers can share the debuff if the cloud explodes and two of them are next to it. (Pretty sure that's what happened to us.)
We didn't get the "kill" (we only tried that strategy twice before moving back to normal due to time), but I believe that's how we'll have to do it on our next attempts.
Does anyone know the rate of decay for her health?
BTW, the Blistering Zombies seem to move twice the speed (maybe not that fast, but it's significantly faster) Your kiter needs to be on the ball before it gibs a healer :)

We did this on heroic 10 man yesterday and I must say it was quite a challenging hard mode, compared to the ones we did before (we're currently on 9/12 heroic).
Initially our raid setup was as following:
Healers
Discipline priest (myself)
2x Resto shaman
Holy paladin
Tanks
Blood DK
Druid
DPS
Mage
Hunter
Warlock
Shadow priest
The plan was to have one of the resto shamans and the holy paladin to enter the portals. The other shaman and myself would stay outside for raid healing. Since I'm a disc priest, I'm not much use inside, so we figured it'd be better if I raid healed. Plus we didn't really know how brutal the raid damage would be, hence the 2 raid healers.
Problem with this setup was that we were lacking DPS to take down the adds, so we'd inevitably get overrun by adds and I would run out of mana. We also had the healers inside the portals drop their stacks a couple of times, although that's more of a player issue than a problem with the strategy.
Once we got a feeling of the fight, we switched to three healers in the portals, with me raid healing. This proved to be better, as Valithria was healed faster, but on our best attempt we got her to 80%, with me completely out of mana, having used all mana restoring options and only 30 seconds left till enrage. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I think it was a combination of lack of DPS and someone dropping the stacks. Also, the interrupts on the frostbolt volleys were a bit iffy, and didn't always work, which would result in more mana drained from the healers.
After some discussion we decided to swap a couple of roles. We had our DK tank go DPS and had the lesser geared resto shaman log his rogue, so we'd have more DPS to burn down the adds. The remaining resto shaman and holy paladin would still go inside the portals.
We immediately felt the difference regarding the adds. Skeletons were burned down before they could lay waste and the archmages were ripped apart before they got off a volley. This had an immediate impact on my mana, since the raid healing was a lot less brutal.
I must say it was quite a challenge for our druid tank to single-handedly pick up all the adds and keep them from tearing apart our healers. It did take a couple of tries to perfect this.
On our last attempt everything seemed to come together. The dragon healers didn't loose their stacks and we got her to 85% with the adds still under control. We popped heroism and had our healers stay outside for the remainder of the fight. At 97% I got obliterated by an abomination that wasn't picked up properly (maybe a taunt miss), but it didn't matter anymore. With the huge heals going around, we quickly got her to 100% and she finished off the adds!
All things considered a well designed, proper hard mode and quite a challenge to solo raid heal, but we made it :D

Holy Preist with Glyph of Guardian spirit = <3 in this fight.
I (holy preist) usually stay outside, raidhealing, while Holy pally and resto drood collects the balls (yeah, I know). I pop guardian spirit the second the fight starts, when the CD is off I wait for em' to get out if they're in the dreamworld and pop it again. Towards the end our holy pally was critting Holy Light for 200k+ while guardian spirit was up O.o

Worth mentioning that on hard mode, the Blistering Zombies have a major speed boost. We fired up hard mode and I swear Usain Bolt came running out of the gate and clubbed a few people before our hunters could begin kiting him.

As a healer, to make sure that you don't lose buff stacks before the next portal, plan to pop an orb at the last 5 seconds or so. If you use a buff-tracking addon, you can track
Dream State
to show how many seconds you have remaining in the dream.
In hard mode, orbs will not respawn before the next dream phase, so it is important not to hog them. With 4 healers going in (25-man), each can only grab around 3 orbs unless you decide to use the orb-sharing strat (which may not be easy with lag).
If you see a healer just standing near an orb, they're probably waiting out the timer before grabbing their final orb. Don't be greedy; find another one.

Yet another edit: After yet another experiment, it seems that pet heals do get picked up by beacon, which makes me wonder... why wouldn't it work?
Previously misunderstood the process, nobody explained it very well. I thought they were trying to use the paladin's beacon in order to make the hunters mend pet heal Dreamwalker, which would never work. The idea was to have pets that received boosts to all incoming heals through talents, be healed by the paladin with his/her beacon on dreamwalker, so the boosted heals would be picked up by the beacon and transferred to Dreamwalker. As I understand it, this worked at one time, and now it has been changed so it doesn't. There are two ways I can think of that they might have accomplished this, the first would be to not have target specific healing boosts pass through the beacon, the second would have been to change the hunter/pet talents so they only worked with mend pet. If they did the first method than this would affect all situations, if they used the second method, it would still be possible for a character with boosted healing talents (for example a feral druid with +20% healing received in cat form) to fill this role, but then they wouldn't be able to participate in the fight much except for killing suppressors.
Not sure if anyone has tested this yet.

I've just wiped few times on her, and found out perfect way to do this, but you will need 3 healers to do it this way. One healer is constantly entering portals, and have mroe and more buffs ( I had 43 when I've wiped) other 2 ones stay in real realm, and one of them enther emrald realm, next time other one enters it, so both of them recover mana. Only the healer who constantly enters emrald realm heals that dragon, other 2 ones just keep raid alive. We've get her up to 90% and hen, because of low dps, VEEERY LOW DPS, like 2k? We wiped.

Blood DK's can cast Hysteria on this dragon.
I'm just saying. Causing her to do 20% more physical damage and loosing 30% health over 30 seconds.
Yes I confirmed it today, she does loose 30% health, and i think it's about 3 million hp on 10man.
No I am not kidding, a single dk in your raid can intentionally mess everything up.
Here is the question, can 2 dk's kill her when she starts at 50% ?

Sadly I can confirm that at the current 4.1 patch this encounter is extremely glitched.
There seems to be a big blue aura surrounding her resulting in you always targetting her wherever you click inside the room.
Also for those who still do Mount runs I got bad news for that too; Targetting enemies and clicking the portals barely works due to the glitch I described above. We kept failing the Portal Jockey because no one could click on the portals, let alone everytime they spawn.
PS. Most of our guildies who didn't have the meta are stuck with this Achievement on their list.

This fight is pure fun for healers. I love it. ^^ Did this a while ago and the Holy Paladin we had with us said that he would leave the portals to me, since he wasn't exactly sure how the method worked. He promised to keep peeps alive while I was away. But he joined me later and helped me a little. Took something like 5-6 mins, not 100% sure though. Even Resto Druids who are weak on single target healing shine in this encounter. Nothing more satisfying than seeing Lifebloom expire and critting over 150K with the buff. <3 So yeah, all healers, take the everything out in this, this is one of the bosses that will never be solo'd unless you have good healing spells.

Wiped on her twice today in 10 heroic, with 9 85s, ilvl 334-390 and a lvl 82 rogue w/ ilvl ~288-294.
Problem with the first time - only one dedicated healer, tried to make ret pally and feral Druid heal - even in cata, this is probably a no-go.
Second time - 1 resto Druid and resto shammy, ilvls 384ish. Problem? In heroic mode, the are nightmare stacks in addition to the healing buff, and our healers chickened out with it. Also, they let their stacks drop by entering the portals too early or too late. So, we hit berserk.
Here's some info - here "berserk" means about 20-30 adds flooding the room from each side - it becomes impossible to kill them all, and if you don't get gang-smashed outright, the aoes will get you. I think it happens at about 7 minutes, correct me if I'm wrong.

Gift of the Naaru at the moment seems to work properly on her and significantly shortens the time required to heal her up since it heals for 20% of max hp over 15 seconds.

It should be noted since I didn't see it anywhere here, bandaging will not work in heroic. She has a self DOT that stops you from one shotting her with a high-level bandage. So just skip if you're running heroic with no healing.
