According to MMO champions testing and indeed some of my own testing on the PTR, the aim of this fight is basicly that several lab tables are positioned around the room that have bottles that turn you into an abomination when clicked, the advantage of abomanation form is that you can eat the ooze and clouds up before they kill a raid member, rinse and repeat. be warned that his enrage timer is a very likely occourance we found - its difficult to manage it so that enough people are eating clouds as well as maintaining dps on him.

On 10 man:
He spawns Green Slimes and Red "Slimes"(they are called gas clouds, but they appear as a slime), in front of the respective red and green slime vats in the room. He does this when casting Unstable Experiment. He always spawns the Green slime first, then the red slime, then the green slime, etc.
He also spawns Green Slime clouds periodically throughout the room. Don't stand in them.
Only one person can be an abomination, accomplished by drinking from the lab behind the boss. The abomination sucks up the slime on the ground(not the mobs themselves), but makes sure he doesn't completely destroy it unless there are more slimes, as you need the energy the slimes give you to use your slow(50 required).
When a green slime spawns, he will target one person and charge at it. That person will have a green beam between them and the slime. If the slime reaches the person, it will deal damage split between all players in a small range around the person, and knock all players back, and then repeat the process until it dies.
Note that the person it targets is rooted(cannot be removed), but can perform actions. If the targeted person uses an immunity, the slime will charge a new person, but it will not root that new person(possible hotfix soon, as this doesn't seem intentional).
When a red slime spawns, it will target one person and charge at it very quickly. This slime cannot be slowed by any means other than the abomination's ability Regurgitated Ooze, which MUST be applied immediately.
The targeted person gets 10 stacks of a debuff. The more debuffs the person has when the slime reaches it, the more damage it deals when it explodes. It deals damage to everyone in the room, and in addition, deals significant damage to anyone with a small range of the red slime.
Not sure if there's a berserk timer.
The boss himself will do random things throughout the fights, but most(all that we saw) of them are "don't stand in the _______", whether it's a thrown slime, a brown gas vial, or a slime.
It appears the only difference between 10 and 25, aside from more health and damage, is the use of multiple abominations(up to 3 on PTR).

It should be worth it mentioning that you only get 10 tries to kill Professor Putricide during a raid-save. Should the raid group wipe 10 times and come back for an 11th try, Putricide will have despawned and not be showing up again until after the reset of ICC.
EDIT: Typo.

One important thing about this boss I haven't seen anyone mention yet:
He has three distinct phases, based on his health, and the time in which he transitions to the next phase is VERY important if you're going to defeat him.
Phase 1 lasts until 80%, and largely consists of him summoning oozes and throwing down slime puddles.
Phase 2 he gains 2 new abilities: Choking Gas bomb and Malleable Goo. The bombs appear as orange vials on the floor and must be avoided. The Malleable Goo is similar to General Vezax's Shadow Crash, and will be thrown in a straight line toward random players. Note that it's very difficult to determine exactly where these will land, so your best bet is to avoid them horizontally (ie move out of the line of movement they're following).
Phase 3 begins when he reaches roughly 35% health. Three important things happen when he reaches this phase:
-The player who is controlling the abomination will be returned to their normal self and cannot gain it back, nor can any other player become an abomination. This means slime puddles can no longer be eaten, and the raid will have to move around the room to avoid expanding puddles. (This effectively acts as his "hard enrage" timer)
-Putricide will no longer summon Gas Clouds or Volatile Oozes.
-Putricide will gain a soft enrage buff that increases his damage and causes him to stack a debuff on his target that does exponentially increasing damage, requiring frequent tank swaps.
Phase 3, obviously, is a MASSIVE DPS race. Save Bloodlust and all DPS cooldowns for this phase.
You will need them!
The time he changes phases is important because he'll stun the whole raid for about 10-15sec, so time it to happen just after killing an ooze he's summoned.

There are plenty of posts discussing the overall fight. However, I have yet to see a post where it talks about individual roles. So, without further ado, and I apologize if I don't get the numbers exactly right,
How To Professor Putricide:
Everyone
(in order of importance):
Get out of green puddles.
Get as far away as possible from the adds (slimes/oozes, reddish-brown and green)
before
they target someone. Green slimes (called Volatile Ooze) appear on the green side, so move to the brown side before it spawns, and vice versa. This gives you the maximum amount of time to kill them before they reach their target.
If a brown slime (called a Gas Cloud, for some reason) targets you (you'll see a brown beam on you), you must kite the slime (Don't worry, it will only be for maybe 15 seconds).
After he freezes the raid with his Tear Gas (around 80%), avoid the brown flasks on the ground. They explode after 10 or so seconds.
All dps
:
Dps the slimes
after
they have a target (as long as its not you). They should die very quickly (20 seconds or so) and hopefully never reach their target. Appoint someone to call out slimes if you must.
Dps the professor.
Melee
:
The instant you see the green/brown beam from the slime, get to the slime and kill it asap. Both slimes do not pick their target immediately. Wait for their cast to finish.
The brown slimes change targets. Don't be near it when it finishes casting (3 second cast, every 15 seconds or so); if you happen to be the next target, it will instantly explode and wipe the raid. If you can't handle this constant running in and out, just stay on the professor, and leave the brown slime to the ranged.
Ranged
:
Get on adds (the slimes) asap. Remember not to be near them when they target someone.
After 80%, watch for the small bouncing green slime. If it is heading your way, get out of its path.
If too many ranged are within melee range, the bouncing slime will target the melee and likely cause a wipe due to the lost dps, especially in phase 3.
Tanks
:
Main Tank:
Tank the professor.
As soon as a slime targets someone, move to where it spawned. It will take some time, and you need to be in proper position for the next slime.
An alternative strategy is just hug the wall on the brown side of the room, since brown slimes can be kited, and green slimes cannot.
Off-Tank:
You will be controlling the Abomination. At the start of the fight, go use the 'DRINK ME' potion in the back of the room.
At 35%, you will lose your abomination. You will then take turns taunting the boss with the Main Tank each time either of you get a debuff.
Abomination/Off Tank:
You
must
snare the slimes it as soon as it is target-able (ability 2). The snare is a spray, so you can do it from a distance - just don't miss! Do not snare right before the phase change at 80%
Between slimes, eat green puddles as fast as possible (ability 1). Puddles still grow even as you eat them, so make sure they are all gone before moving to the next. If you do it right there will never be more than two puddles.
If you have no slimes or pools up, go whack the boss with your -20% armor attack (Ability 3).
Healers:
Here's what you have to heal through:
Mutated Abomination Aura. Average 2k to the entire raid every tick, until 35%. It is
not
affected by distance.
Green puddle damage if someone is in it (ticks for 2kish)
Green ooze damage, called Volatile Ooze Adhesive, channeled on target.
Brown ooze damage, DoT called Gaseous Bloat on target. A new target (and thus a new DoT) every 15 or so seconds. Might want to add this one to your debuff-watcher addons
Green ooze explosion if it reaches its target. One explosion is usually healable, two is not.
Brown ooze explosion (usually a Wipe)
Green potions (the bouncing slime). Aoe damage on contact.
Brown potions (the land mines). Aoe damage if someone is near.
and of course, Boss melee on tank.
Fortunately, most of this damage can be avoided if the Dps does everything right. After 35%, he soft enrages, increasing all damage by 50%. Good luck.

The abomination transformation is a disease. Tell your priests and paladins not to dispel it ahead of time, as running back to the table and drinking another potion puts you very behind on puddle growth.

Make sure the debuff on the tanks doesn't expire, if you're swapping tanks in phase 3.
It will heal the boss regardless of the way it was removed (death, or simply expiration of the debuff).

Correction of the 25-normal abilities page above:
Volatile Ooze
- A green add. Debuffs its target with Volatile Ooze Adhesive, rooting them in place and inflicting
6,338 to 6,662
damage every 1 second to them. It will chase the target, and if it gets to them will inflict
165,750 to 174,250
split between all nearby players.
The explosion in 25-normal is this spell:
Ooze Eruption

DO NOT let any Rogues in your group Cloak out of the phase transition stuns. As of Monday, 01/11/2010, this will bug any oozes or slime puddles: the rest of your raid will stay stunned for the full duration (including your abom offtank), but the puddles will start growing again and the oozes will start moving again right away.

A few questions that haven't been covered yet:
As a mage, can you blink when you're targeted by the green slime add?
Does bubble/iceblock work to get out of the stun phase?
-Tried it last night, ice block does NOT work.
Can the adds only be slowed by the MA's slow or can you use chains of ice/mage slow/hunter traps/etc?

Just some few tips for the abominations out there.
First off, treat it like a normal "priority" dps rotation. First is to slow down the ooze, second to suck up the pools, third to debuff/dps the slimes or putricide.
If you stay on top of things, it will flow together. Raid moves to one side, he drops the pools, raid moves over to other side; leaving you with pools to start sucking up and with the first ooze right on top of you.
Keep an eye out on the slimes castbar, it will stay in one place (both green and orange do this) while it channels this 3-4 second cast. It gives you an opportunity to dps/debuff the slime while he charges up. With one second left, hit the spit and slow him down (do not spam the slow, if you have 80 or more energy, you'll fire back to back slows leaving you with 40 less energy). Continue to dps him as he crawls toward the raid. The moment that putricide puts down more pools, get over to them ASAP and start sucking.
Pools must be drained completely before moving on to the next one, as they will continue to grow if you leave them unattended. Sometimes putricide likes to drop only one pool which sounds great - but can leave you short of energy to slow the slime (hopefully this happens during the green slime).
Perhaps the most valuable thing that I have found out is that
none of the abomination abilities are on a linked cooldown
meaning you can suck up pools and dps the slime (or slow for that matter) at the same time.
If a pool is right next to a slime or putricide, go to town spamming 1 and 3 together - you'll continue to suck up the pool and contribute a decent amount of dps along with the very valuable debuff.

Concerning abilities that make you regain control of your character or make you immune:
- Every man for himself(Humans): Removes the Tear Gas effect. Doesn't work with Adhesive Ooze effect.
- Cloak of Shadows(Rogues): removes the Tear Gas effect. I have no clue if the removes Adhesive Ooze effect or Gaseous Bloat effect. Need a rogue to give me some info here.
- Blink(Mages): Does not remove the Adhesive Ooze effect. It does move you 20 yards ahead. Saves some movement while being chased by Gaseous Cloud. Not working against Tear Gas effect(or so I heard).
- Iceblock(Mages) and Divine Shield(Paladins): Removes the Adhesive Ooze effect and forces the ooze to pick another target. Best used when the ooze is 10 yards from you and the melee are hugging it. Gives you 3 more seconds of dps until the explosion. Also removes the Gaseous Bloat effect and forces the ooze to pick another target. You shouldn't do this. Used before the Tear Gas triggers allows you to cancel the effect after the Tear Gas is on the raid and do a few more seconds of dps on the boss. You won't be able to heal the raid though. All raid targets are flagged as Immune.
- Demonic Circle: Teleport: makes the oozes very angry with you. Doesn't remove any of the ooze effects but if used wisely should give your raid a few good seconds to dps the oozes.

The logs show something strange about the Malleable Goo: according to the spell description, people taking damage from it will get a debuff (causing a slow effect on their casting speed). However the logs show more people taking damage from the Goo than people getting the debuff.
So the question is how does it work? Does a direct hit cause damage plus the debuff and someone within the 5 yard explosion takes just the damage?

If you're having trouble with this in 25man, try this alternative tactic:
The tank and melee should stack up as close to the GREEN tap as possible, at all times. The boss will only be moved if there are bombs or slime underneath him. I know this may sound a little odd as there's a very good chance that the first target of the green ooze will be next to it, right? Yes, that's true but because your melee are right there as it spawns, they can easily get 1/3 of it's health pool off before it even picks a target. Because of that headstart, the ooze doesn't pop more than usual and your melee don't have so far to go to get back to the boss. Using this tactic, your raid is losing a lot less DPS to movement and it's much easier to heal because you're guaranteed that all the melee are in range to spread the damage. It also means you don't have to worry about slow people being near the brown ooze.
The ranged spread themselves out in a quarter circle between the table and the middle of the room. The ideal spot is one where they can reach the boss, and both adds without moving. Obviously they need to strafe a few yards to avoid malleable goo/slime pools etc. Again, much less DPS lost to movement.
A few other neat tricks: Vanish and invisbility can be used just before tear gas to allow mages and rogues to DPS the boss. Just remember that you will take full damage from the abom AOE so do not do this if you're not topped up. Shadowmeld does NOT work.
Blink can be used when the target of the green ooze, wait until it's close and blink for a few seconds more DPS. Ice block, BoP and FD can also be used, they confuse the ooze for a few seconds before it picks a new target. Best used when it's nearly dead. However, they should not be used until the last possible moment on the brown ooze, and be sure to warn the raid to make sure there is no one near when it retargets. Body and Soul is nice for brown ooze targets, as is Sprint/Dash/Intervene/Blink etc.
Phase 3, just make sure to pay attention to the slime, move ahead of time so you don't get boxed in, and spread out as much as you can, malleable goo can easily take out half the raid.

After doing heroic 10-man Putricide last night I found out some very useful info about the fight that might help others who are stuck on him.
1. Just before the transition phases at 80% and 35% we sometimes had the Professor cast his Unstable Experiment and then once pushed over he immediately cast Volatile Experiment, which is when he does the double ooze spawn. Because one ooze was already in the process of spawning from the Unstable Experiment only the opposite color ooze spawned during the VE. Example:
PP Casts Unstable Experiment! > HP goes to 80% during that time and the brown ooze starts to spawn > PP Casts Volatile Experiment! > Green ooze spawns
Because the brown ooze was already spawning a second one cannot spawn during the Volatile Experiment, which means that if PP is close to 80% during the casting of his Unstable Experiment go ahead and push him over so he casts Volatile Experiment. YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THREE OOZES, so in a sense this is a bit more forgiving than his normal mode tear gas stun.
2. Handling the Unbound Plague is very critical, and COMMUNICATION OVER VOICE CHAT IS VITAL! We found that NOT assigning an order for people to get hit by the plague and just calling out who the person was going to pass it to next made it much easier. The fight is already too hectic as is to assign positioning and orders, especially in the latter phases. Damage reduction cooldowns like Dispersion, Paladin bubble, (I believe Iceblock works, too) and other things can help mitigate the ticking damage, but try and pass it off after 8-10 ticks because UP causes stacking damage that ticks after each second goes by.
It should be noted that you CAN pass the plague to the abomination if worst comes to worst, and can be very helpful especially on the last couple seconds of the plague since the abomination has a decent health pool. However, don't pass it too many times to the abomination due to the sickness debuff, which amplifies the damage by 250%. Another note is that people with the plague CAN and WILL be targeted by the oozes, which can mean a RAPID increase in damage they are taking, so communication is key.
The good thing is, is after the plague goes through its 60 second duration it will not be cast again for a little while. Ideally, you'll get one plague in the first phase, ride it out through the second phase a bit, get a break, get a second plague, ride that one out, then get a third one and hopefully it will drop off around the phase transition into the final phase. You will probably get at least one more plague near the end of the final phase so big healing and damage reduction cooldowns should be used then since the tanks will also be affecting the raid with their damage debuffs.
Again, practice and communication and not assigning a set order will help immensely in handling Unbound Plague, though your mileage may vary a bit depending on your strategy.
3. The oozes themselves do nothing different other than cause more DoT damage and have more health. The big thing will be handling the double ooze spawn after Volatile Experiment is cast. During this time the raid will be free to move around while Professor Putricide runs to his table for about 30 seconds or so and does nothing. We had the raid stack up on the green ooze spawn point and our abomination driver slowed the brown ooze. If he had enough energy he'd slow the green one as well, but that wasn't always the case, so the brown one always took priority.
As a Hunter I found that I could stand a bit away from the group due to range issues for attacks, but also for another reason. If the green ooze targeted me, then it would start to chase after me and right before it hit I would Feign Death. This caused the ooze to stop in its tracks and force it to take about 2 seconds to target someone else, and since melee was already on it from the spawn point they along with the other casters had burned it down a bit. Those extra 2 seconds are basically free DPS time where the ooze doesn't explode and can offer enough time to destroy it before it blows up.
The person who gets targeted by the brown ooze should just do the kiting thing and get healed while the green ooze is taken care of. Then the DPS switch over, burn the brown ooze down, and if done fast enough they can then get a few seconds of free DPS time on the Professor until he moves into his second phase form. Other aggro dropping abilities like BoP and Iceblock can also be used, but don't get trigger-happy with this strategy...make sure that by dropping aggro you won't put your raid into an unfavorable position. DO NOT aggro drop on the brown ooze if you're targeted, just kite it around UNLESS...and this is CRITICAL...UNLESS it's at extremely low HP and you know it'll die fast.
4. RNG...oh RNG. Sometimes you can do everything right and the RNG will just open a new one up on you. Worst case scenario would be that you have the Unbound Plague in phase 2, you get pinned in place by a green slime, a slime puddle spawns under you, AND the good Professor targets you with Malleable Goo. This DID happen to us on two of our attempts and there's pretty much nothing you can do except know that you're going to die a very fast and painful (less?) death. This is especially true if your Unbound Plague has been ticking a few times already and you have no defensive cooldowns like Dispersion or Iceblock or bubble to help you.
Other bad scenarios would be that you have the UP and you get targeted by one of the oozes, which as I said before will ramp up the damage on you quite a bit. Should this happen call out on voice chat that you're going to need extra heals and get the plague off of you ASAP, especially if you're targeted by the brown ooze. Green isn't so bad since then people will be bunching up on you so the plague will get around and you should be OK. In the end, sometimes you will lose attempts to bad RNG and all you can do is recover and give it another go.
Hope some of those little pieces of advice helped. :)

Our 10man raid had trouble with the Green Slime. We opted to use the stacking method on the Green slime as it spawned and it worked great.
As a
Hunter
, you can free yourself from the Green Slime's adhesive using Feign Death. The Slime will then target someone else, giving you around 5 seconds to freely DPS it down.
Against the Red Slime, Disengage is awesome but Master's Call doesn't work.

Don't know if it's been said. But if you're a mage and you notice him at around 81% or as hes casting the 'stun everyone in room gas' you can use invisibility to avoid it. Pop back out and keep dpsing for 10-15 seconds while everyone is stunned.
Helps to down an ooze if one is still up going into another phase.

bear in mind that when u getout of the stun the boss will ignore his threat table (since you are the only one he can attack) and will one shot you, my fellow rogue in the raid tried this and just before the stun wore off the raid the boss went straight to him, one shotted him and went to attack the tank as the immunity fell off.
my advice to you, stay stunned and live to for the rest of the fight.
edit: typos
That's not true (at least, any more, but I don't remember a time when it WAS true). Ice Block does NOT prevent immunity from the stun, nor can it be used while stunned. Interestingly enough, Invisibility DOES. Both Invisi and Cloak cause you to
leave combat temporarily
, meaning you are
not on his threat table at all
, and will not be affected by the stun. Use invisi the moment you see him casting Tear Gas, and the three second delay will be timed with the aoe stun.
Also, during the stun, no one is attacked, and threat from the tank is not dropped. The stun is removed as he becomes active again. Attacking him during this time is risk-free (you can't even pull threat because Invisibility dropped all threat you had).

For tanks wondering what to do with this guy (at least on normal 10m), it's one of the more tricky tanking methods but nothing too terrible. Here's how my raid handled it.
One tank is going to control an abomination. The tank on Putricide has a more simple job. After the add tank aggros Putricide, the MT taunts the boss off and DPSers should hold on until he's in position. The place where I tanked it was forward till almost halfway through the room and to the right till you're almost to the wall (have enough room to maneuver). Phase 1 is a breeze, just tank him facing away from the DPS. When Phase 2 kicks in, things get trickier. He'll start throwing down gas, and you need to kite him out of this so you and the meleers don't get covered. When he throws down a gas cloud, quickly take him close to the entrance of the room. Repeat this diagonal kiting pattern every time he drops a cloud.
When Phase 3 kicks in, the off-tank will be kicked out of abomination form. The tank must then backpedal the boss in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction (depending on where the DPSers are), moving whenever he throws down an AoE. In addition, he will toss debuff stacks on the main tank. The off-tank should taunt off at 2 stacks, then the main tank should taunt off at 2 stacks, then the off-tank should taunt off at 4, and so on. By the time both tanks have 4 stacks, hopefully the boss will be dead or close to it. The reasoning behind the 2,4,etc. taunt rotation is that if the debuff wears off, Putricide is healed substantially, which will wipe nearly any raid.
tl;dr - Kite him in a set pattern away from the gas clouds. Keep DPS behind him.
For DPS - You will rotate between killing the boss and burning the adds, in a fashion similar to Lady Deathwhisper. Stay behind the boss and be aware of where the AoE gas/slime is. Stepping in a cloud will ruin your DPS for the next few seconds (-75% hit chance). Watch out for the Malleable Goo lines. If you are between the goo and a targeted player, move.
For the OT - You will be manning the abomination. My raid had the OT aggro the boss, but it doesn't matter a huge amount. The abomination has fairly simple controls, but failure to use them right could end up in a wipe. Basically, you are supposed to absorb slime puddles as much as possible and, when the adds start spawning, use your slowing ability to give the DPS more time to burn them down. When you are not slowing adds, you are using your melee ability to kill the adds or the boss.
For the Heals - There will be a constant 1k damage every 2 seconds because of the abomination. It's not a huge amount, but definitely nothing you want to ignore. As always, someone is going to get into the slime puddles and take damage, but that's nothing new. When phase 3 kicks in, things get tougher. The entire raid will take larger amounts of damage from the tanks' debuffs (although the abomination AoE will be gone). In addition, Putricide goes into a frenzy, so tank healers must be on their toes. This fight is probably healable with 2 people, but 3 is always best if you're unsure.
All in all, it's not too hard of a fight, but it's also easy to mess up. It will test your raid's awareness in preparation for more challenging encounters.

I did the 10-man stuff, and after doing the heroic 25-man version of PP here are a few tips to help you out:
1. You can still push the Professor over after he casts Unstable Experiment and have him cast Volatile Experiment right after is he's close to 80% or 35%. HOWEVER, be aware that you MUST DO THIS WHILE THE OOZE SPAWNING ANIMATION IS STILL GOING! If the ooze has already formed and is visible when you do this then he WILL spawn two more oozes and thus you will deal with three. So:
-- PP Casts Unstable Experiment! > Brown ooze begins to spawn > PP hits 80% and IMMEDIATELY casts Volatile Experiment before the Brown ooze is totally spawned > TWO oozes.
-- PP Casts Unstable Experiment! > Brown ooze visibly spawns > PP hits 80% and IMMEDIATELY casts Volatile Experiment! > Two MORE oozes spawn > Three on the floor > WIPE! (don't do this)
2. Ooze Variable is not present in the 10-man, but it IS present in the 25-man and thus approximately half your DPS will be split between the two oozes when the transition periods come. This is the real test of the encounter (aside from the final phase) as you will need VERY good coordination, solid DPS, and dealing with the green ooze blowing up, AND dealing with the Unbound Plague. Some tips:
-- Have DPS stack up on the green ooze at the start, even if some of them have the brown ooze variable. Position yourselves so that no one will get thrown into the brown ooze on the initial explosion...odds are the green one WILL pick someone close and immediately explode before the brown ooze can choose a target. It's possible for that chosen target to get launched right into the brown ooze and it will unleash Gaseous Bloat at full strength...wipe.
-- MAKE SURE PEOPLE CHECK THEIR OOZE VARIABLES! Seems silly, but if you end up attacking the wrong colored ooze you will do pretty much no damage to it, and that's bad.
-- USE PETS ON THE GREEN OOZE! Pets DO count as viable entities to split up the ooze's explosive damage, and they DO NOT get an Ooze Variable, so they can damage either ooze without trouble. Their damage will help on getting the green ooze down, and will help spread its damage around, plus they get a 90% reduction on the damage so they can survive for quite a while and pick up splash heals.
-- Just like in the 10-man you can use aggro dropping abilities like Feign Death, Ice Block, or paladin shield just before the green ooze hits its target and force it to target switch and waste two seconds of time. SOMETIMES this can force the slime to bug out in that after it chooses its target it will follow a normal aggro table and go after someone else, but it will not blow up even if it touches that person because it's 'beamed' to someone else. It can also bug in that it will just stand there, still connected to the person who forced an aggro drop, and won't switch targets or do anything else. If either of those happen then POUR ON THE DPS, but don't expect it...consider it a 'freebie'. ;)
-- Brown ooze is the same as normal, but if it stays up too long your Abom driver might not be able to slow it again. Things like feral cat Sprint, rocket boots, Rogue sprint, and other speed moves do help in that case, and you may also want to try using Feign Death or Ice Block IF applicable. Also, melee on the brown ooze need to be aware of the target switch and run away until it picks another target, or else they might get picked and take a full Gaseous Bloat to the face along with the rest of the raid.
3. Unlike the 10-man there is pretty much always one Unbound Plague out at any one time, save for the first little bit of the 35% transition when PP chugs his concoction down and goes crazy. Since you have more people there is a more likely possibility that UP will start in the melee, and if it does it needs to be run out ASAP. DO NOT, DO NOT let it get on the main tank, though if your off tank that's not in the abom suit needs something to do, he/she can grab the plague and run it out.
Damage reduction abilities like Dispersion, Ice Block, BoP, and Barkskin are very nice for riding out extra ticks, or for riding out the final seconds of the UP, but DO NOT go overboard. Make sure your raid uses GOOD COMMUNICATION and pick your target in advance if you are the one called out to be the recipient of the UP. Don't be afraid to call out for a damage reduction cooldown if things go bad (like your intended target gets targeted by an ooze, or malleable goo crash and has to move) because stuff CAN happen and you need to be able to think on the fly and adjust as needed.
Should be noted that mages who ride out the UP in their Ice Blocks will STILL take the increased damage from the plague ticks...if it's been ticking for 10 seconds, then however hard it ticks at that time will be what the mage takes. IT WILL NOT RESET ITS DAMAGE UNTIL IT'S PASSED!
4. The good Professor DOES toss an extra Malleable Goo out, so be very aware that three are going out instead of two in both phase 2 and 3. Obviously, they also do A LOT more damage, so DO NOT GET HIT BY THEM, unless you get RNG screwed and get pinned in place by a green ooze.
5. From 35% on down it's a hard, HARD DPS burn and you will probably want to burn Heroism/Bloodlust after PP is debuffed a bit. You CAN have your tanks start near either ooze tank, or even the entrance door to force the Professor to run to them and give the DPS a few extra seconds of 'free' burn time. Some other tips:
-- Tanks need to work out their debuff rotation as usual, and most likely you will be using three tanks to split the debuffs up. Be careful you don't hit the taunt DR and make PP immune, and obviously DO NOT LET THE TANKS DIE! The debuff and the Professor hitting like a Mack Truck is what tanks should save their defensive CDs and armor potions for (can drink those earlier).
-- DO NOT GET HIT BY THE CHOKING GAS BOMBS! Again, this seems like a DUH thing, but with how hectic the phase is, it's easy to miss them...DON'T GET HIT BY THEM be it melee or ranged DPS. You can't afford to take the DPS loss.
-- Keep avoiding Malleable Goo and make sure NO ONE is standing behind the tanks, which could cause PP to throw a goo that way, or worse...drop a slime pool in the kite path. That's bad...DON'T STAND THERE!
-- There will be one final Unbound Plague fired off at some point in phase 3. Try and get it to a ranged DPS and have that person go die a little ways away from the raid. Healing is going to be very, VERY stressful and you can't afford to have the Plague bouncing around, and with slime pools filling up the room and all DPS focusing on the Professor...just run off and die. If you can battle rez the person and get them healed before the tank debuffs go off, all the better, but if not at least the UP will not be a bother.
Hope those help. :)

Can anyone tell me if a Protection Paladin can "get rid" of the Unbound Plague by letting it kill him/her and AD kicking in?
EDIT: Tested and no, it doesn't.

Don't know if my group was glitched or not but there is a little trick with mages and green oozes.
1. Green Ooze targets mage
2. Mage iceblocks, Ooze will still attack mage, but the mage takes no damage. Raid keeps nuking down ooze.
It worked for us and was very helpful.

Healers keep in mind, the abom is taking damage when they eat the slime. Please just throw a hot on them. The last thing you want is for it to die before phase 3. It wastes time and slime on the ground can grow out of control too quickly.
What people don't realize is that after you click on the table to become an abom, it takes several seconds before you turn into one. So if you wipe because the abom died, its not the OT's fault. ^_^

There's not much info around for heroic 25, but this might help guilds who are struggling on P3:
Have a 4 tanks
Tanks 3 and 4 dps for most of the fight (in tank gear)
Tanks taunt at 2 stacks. Once each has 2 stacks, each gets a 3rd stack
We found that with 185K raid dps we just managed to get PP down before anyone got a 4th stack. Even though we had several minutes left on the enrage timer 4 stacks seems to be the soft berserk for heroic

Recently, we've been trying to down Putricide, and the engineer's Nitro Boost perk has malfunctioned every single time me or the tank have used it. Not sure if this is a server side issue, a widespread issue or just AWFUL luck, but it's worth noting that it doesn't seem to be working for our group now.

Not seen anyone mention it but the encounter is very similar to
Doctor Brio
in Crash Bandicoot.
They both stand by a table full of elixirs, spawn slimes, and drink an elixir at 20% turning them into a monster.
Could be a reference. Or just a source of inspiration.

The ultimate abomination driving macro:
/click BonusActionButton1
/click BonusActionButton3
/stopmacro
/tar Professor
Just keybind that and continuously smash it as fast as you can to automatically eat any slime that you're standing on and slash the boss when he's in range. This lets you focus more on proper positioning. When an ooze comes out just target it and hit "2" ONCE to spit, then continue spamming the macro to slash it and eat nearby slime.
Note the three abom abilities have separate (very short) GCDs, which is why this works and is more effective than spamming all three buttons (also less likely to break your 1-3 keys).

One of the most entertaining boss fights (albeit hilarious) ever made... love the name of his room "Putricide's Labratory of Alchemical Horrors and Fun". (real fun if you wipe on him).

We recently duo'd this as an item level 382 Blood Death Knight, 393 Elemental Shaman.
Phase 1: From 100% to 80% health Putricide will drop slime puddles on the ground that will grow, dealing damage every second.
He will also summon two kinds of adds that need to be killed ASAP: Volatile Ooze which debuffs its target with Volatile Ooze Adhesive, rooting them in place and inflicting damage every 1 second to them. It will chase the target, and if it gets to them will inflict around 70,000 damage split between all nearby players.
And Gas clouds that debuff its target with 10 stacks of Gaseous Bloat and chases them. The target will lose 1 stack every tick. If the Gas Cloud catches them, it will use Expunged Gas, inflicting damage based on the number of Gaseous Bloat stacks left, to all nearby players.
Phase 2: Putricide retains all his phase 1 abilities and also gains choking gas and malleable goo.Choking gas bombs inflict 5,363 to 5,637 Shadow damage to players around the bombs, and reduces their chance to hit by 75% for 15 seconds, they will explode after 20 seconds inflicting 15,600 to 16,400 Shadow damage to players within 10 yards of the bombs, and reduces their chance to hit by 75% for 20 seconds.
Malleable Goo: Shoots a few Malleable Goos in a straight line at a random target. The goos will inflict 9,750 to 10,250 damage and slow attack and casting speed by 200% for 20 seconds to anyone in their path. The projectiles are fairly easy to see and move slowly, so be sure to run away from them to avoid that nasty debuff.
Phase 3:Use Bloodlust/Heroism and all cooldowns. Putricide retains his abilities from phase 2, but will no longer summon adds. Make sure you kill any adds that are leftover as fast as you can. He gains mutated strength, which increases his damage and attack speed by 50%.
He also uses Mutated Plague which inflicts Shadow damage every 3 seconds to the entire group. Damage increases as the stack increases. He only applies this to whoever is tanking him, and if you don't kill him fast it will kill off anyone but the tank eventually, hence the need for as much dps as you can muster.
Feel free to reply with any questions, this fight took us a few tries to get down well.
