Is this trinket useful for resto shaman? I've heard that shamans don't need mastery...

Anyone know if Vampiric Embrace can proc this?
In Wrath, VE proc'ed for
Val'anyr
But it didn't proc for
Abacus
or
Trauma
Since it shares the same wording as Val'anyr it seems that VE will proc it.
If that is the case, then this might not be a bad trinket for Priests at all. Mastery isn't the best stat for shadow priests, but a constant boost would definitely help.
Also, for all healers, remember that the spirit can be reforged to another stat you may want. Reforging would cause slightly less than a 1% boost for mast, crit, or haste.

This trinket has just been updated on the PTR to proc INT instead of Mastery. We'll find out soon whether or not this will help make the trinket more appealing to healers, once it makes it to live.
My initial suspicion is that the INT proc will only be truly useful if timed with important cooldowns like Divine Plea, Innervate, etc, and will not amount to a significant amount of MP5 over the course of a fight. But again - someone may run the math and prove me wrong.

"Mandala of Stirring Patterns now grants Intellect instead of Mastery."
I've never seen intellect procs before because of the way they work with mana regen so this could be a really nice trinket now for healers as well as for balance/shadow/elemental perhaps.

Just so those reading this understand; the change from a 1926 mastery proc to a 1926 int proc has only happened on the 4.0.6 PTR, and has NOT been implemented yet.

What about proc rate and ICD?
评论来自
skribs
The spell effect on use says 10% proc, and I'm assuming a 40 sec ICD. With 10s duration, and averaging 2s casts, that would bring the average Int to 321.
This is just a guess.

For shadowpriests (or whatever class that can convet spirit to hit) next patch when the proc will be converted to Int, this will help reach the 17 percent mark faster if you're still gearing up

Slightly annoying for disc in its current form as mastery buffs power word shield (and divine aegis), the buff can proc from power word shield (or the pw:s heal glyph) and it lasts 10 seconds, meaning one wont be able to apply another more powerful shield to oneself, the tank, one's arena partner, whichever, even if one were to use heal to reduce the afflicted individual's weakened soul duration. So the change to an INT proc is a good one.

I picked up the trinket, and have mixed feelings about the proc. It increases the maximum mana pool (obviously), but does not increase your available mana. So say that you have 50000/90000 (50k mana left, 90k pool), that will become something like 50000/110000 (50k mana left, 110k pool). So the benefits I see from the proc (at least for a Resto Shaman) is slight increase to mana regen from replenish, and a slight increase in crit and spell power. Ideally, and perhaps it would be considered too powerful is if the trinket increased the available mana as well as mana pool, making it kinda like a "last stand" effect but for mana.

With its int proc this trinket is solid, but led me to think my regen had gone to hell during my first heroic post-patch because I'm used to looking at my mana bar rather than the numbers on it. The proc
does not
increase your available mana, just your potential mana pool. This means the bar will jump down whenever the trinket procs, and back up again when it wears off. I was expecting a regen nerf due to the changes to Holy Concentration (holy priest) so I honestly thought I'd blown away a quarter of my mana maybe a minute into my first boss fight. Make sure to watch out for this - blowing your regen cooldowns for no good reason does not a happy ego make.

For as a disc. priest I’ going to be running with a
DMC:T
and
MoSP
combo pre raid.
I base this off the the stats from
EJ
where the stat weightings are
Int = 5.86
Spi = 2.06
Using they’re general model for comparing trinkets:
Trinket Value = (Amount of Passive Stat x Passive Stat's Weight) + ((Amount of Proc/Use Stat x Proc/Use Stat's Weight) x Proc/Use Uptime)
We can calc that:
CoR
Int = 321
Spi = 1926
Use = 20 secs
Cooldown = 120 secs
TV= (321*5.86)+((1926*2.06)*(20/120))
TV= 2542.32
DMC:T
Int = 321
Spi = 400 (@ 5 stacks)
Use = 20 secs
Cooldown = 10 secs
TV= (321*5.86)+((400*2.06)*(20/10))
TV= 3529.06
FoM
Int = 321
Spi = 1926
Use = 15 secs
Cooldown = 45 secs
TV= (321*5.86)+((1926*2.06)*(15/45))
TV= 3203.58
MoSP
Int = 1926
Spi = 321
Use = 10 secs
Cooldown = 40 secs
TV= (321*2.06)+((1926*5.86)*(10/45))
TV= 2762.74
TFD
Int = 321
Spi = 2093 ((4200/60)*5)/0.16725) (based on combat regen conversion numbers
here
)
Use = 1 secs
Cooldown = 60 secs
TV= (321*5.86)+((2093*2.06)*(1/60))
TV= 1952.92
TL:DR
Trinket values
1.
DMC:T
= 3529.06
2.
FoM
= 3203.58
3.
MoSP
= 2762.74
4.
CoR
= 2542.32
5.
TFD
= 1952.92

By my math TFD is 350 mp5 if used on cooldown
Yup that's true as I showed in my workings:
(4200mana/60sec) = 70mana/sec
(70)*5 = 350 mana/5sec
Therefore conversion from mp5 to spirit = (mp5/0.16725)
Therefore the total spirit = 2039
By the looks of it you converted the use of TFD to 350 mp5 if used on cooldown then divided by 60 again.
Can you show me where?
If you're referring to the use and cooldown numbers, these numbers are used to determine the ((Amount of Proc/Use Stat x Proc/Use Stat's Weight) x Proc/Use Uptime) and has nothing to do with the value of combat regen : spirit coversion.
also why did you add math for cooldown and proc use on DMC:Tsunami when you already are assuming an 100% uptime for 400 spirit..
I think you're getting confused with the uptime number. Basically all trinkets are assumed 100% uptime aka best case scenario, the numbers shown in 'Proc/Use Uptime' is the the actual duration of the proc/ it's internal cooldown.
For DMC:T I assumed 5 stacks (80spirit*5 stacks) to get 400 spirit again best case scenario.
Your math for TFD is wrong
Not a very helpful statement..I believe that if you want some credit you should at the very least show you're math.

You just plugged numbers into a formula without any thought of what the numbers mean and understanding the formula. Yes the formula is correct but you are using wrong values for some variables.
4200 mana a minute = 350
consistent
mp5 (Ie getting 4200 mana every minute is the same as having a buff that gives you 350 mp5 all the time (100% uptime))
What you are doing in your copy and pasted formula is this
The use is worth 350 MP5. The cooldown is 60 seconds therefore I must divide 350 mp5 by 60
. When in actuality by converting the use into a equivalent mp5 value you already factored in the cooldown into your calculations. Your calculations are for a trinket that gives one second of a 350 mp5 buff every minute instead of 100% uptime 350 mp5. You gave TFD a final value of 1952.92 which for a 321 Int trinket calculates out its use to be worth about
35 spirit
. Do you think the use is only worth 35 spirit?
Proc/Use Uptime
You use this value to calculate the uptime and it works for non-stacking buffs but for the stacking buffs it isn't accurate. If you looked at your values for DMC:Tsunami you came up with the value 20/10 or 2. With that value since you used the max spirit value of 400 instead of the per buff value of 80. You are calculating for a trinket that basically has 200% uptime of 400 spirit or 800 spirit 100% of the time. You just can't plug in those values into formula without thinking about it and expect to be right 100% of the time under different conditions.
Most calculations I seen for DMC:Tsunami assume 400 spirit and calculate with an 90%+ Uptime to factor in ramp up time based on logs. But the simplest way would be to just assume 100% uptime since the buff shouldn't fall of in normal use and it can be stack up to 5 on one aoe spell.
Also your value on the cooldown of Fall of Mortality is off it is closer to 70 or 90 seconds rather than the 45 you have listed.
The simple matter is this the TFD use is equivalent to 350 Mp5 to convert that into spirit combat regen it would be equivalent to about 580 consistent spirit for a non holy priest which would be higher than other trinkets you have higher.
In short you are saying 400 Spirit > 580 Spirit from your conclusions.
Just check your math do you really think TFD is equivalent to an item with 321 int and 35 Spirit? That is what your math is saying.

any1 familiar with Power Auras know what the "Activation by:" category for this aura/buff is? I type in Pattern of Light as the buff, but it doesn't recognize as a "buff" it seems

Raises your maximum mana by 28890 (15 * 1926). However
two
classes
who will use this item have a way in which to gain more mana/intellect than normal. Also, this trinket's intellect proc gives ~3% critical strike chance.
In addition, nearly - if not all - classes who can use this trinket have some way of reaping additional mana regeneration from it. They are as follows:
Druid
Euphoria
Innervate
and
Glyph of Innervate
Dreamstate
Revitalize
Paladin
Divine Plea
and
Glyph of Divine Plea
Lay on Hands
ONLY IF you have the
Glyph of Divinity
Priest
Archangel
Rapture
Hymn of Hope
Dispersion
Masochism
Shadowfiend
and
Glyph of Shadowfiend
Glyph of Spirit Tap
Shaman
do note that as these benefits are confined to the elemental spec, this should only be used for lack of a dps trinket
Rolling Thunder
Thunderstorm
and
Glyph of Thunderstorm
Races
Blood elf
:
Arcane Torrent
Gnome
:
Expansive Mind
And, of course, the raid-wide buff everyone loves
Replenishment
This list is only for the purpose of listing classes who receive additional benefit from the intellect proc on this trinket
this is NOT saying any of the classes mentioned should or should not use it; that is not the purpose of this post!

As a resto druid what would be better for just throughput healing (not worrying about mana regen or using innervate, replenish, ect.) Mandala of stirring Patterns, Core of Ripeness, and Darkmoon Card Tsunami. I would like to use two out of the three and want to know which combination would be best.

Do not forget that Spirit is a reforgeable primary stat. This gives a +193 spi and +128 to a secondary stat of your choosing, giving this trinket some flexibility to healing styles.

The animation is that it surrounds you in the same electric "aura" that you get from fighting Omnotron (Lightning Conductor) in BWD.
I'd imagine it can probably freak the whole raid out if you're getting the buff and sitting in a pack of raid members, healing away. I'd let a raid leader or someone know beforehand.

I use this as a Druid. I burn mana for the first minute of a fight, and then I watch out for this to proc. I have a macro that activates Synapse Springs and Core of Ripeness, then casts innervate on myself. This combo restores 35 to 40 percent of my maximum mana over ten seconds, aided of course by my base spirit. If I were doing 25 mans, I'd work with another druid to restore over 50 percent mana on each of us. The best part is that I cool mana use and three minutes later I do it again. This gives me tremendous capacity over time, much more so than the Doll.
Druids should never disparage this item. Its synergy with innervate is powerful.

No, you don't get any mana added to the pool; you get a bigger mana bar (the trinket increases your intellect, not your current amount of mana). To get actual mana you need to find a way to fill it up (and then use it) in the 10 seconds the proc lasts.
Gandazar, you seem to be misunderestanding what Intellect, as a stat, does for us. It provides a large chunk of spellpower, crit, as well as regen (via embedded combat regen, Replenishment, and Hymn/Innervate/DP). You're acting like Intellect just makes that blue bar bigger; no, no, that's just an additional bonus. Functionally, intellect is a healer's best stat because it scales all of the healer's other stats so damn well.
I agree with the idea that, yes,
Tsunami
,
Tyrande's Favorite Doll
and
Core of Ripeness
are better -- Intellect is a stat that is much better at being passive (so you can start with a larger mana bar and always have mana passives affecting you), while spirit is much better as a proc (you will always be focusing on combat regen) -- but two of those are difficult to obtain, and this trinket is not nearly as horrible as you're making it out to be. It seems to be a reversal of Core of Ripeness stats, with a much shorter cooldown to make up for it. I like trinkets that get you thinking outside the box; if this was a copy of Core, it'd be pretty damn boring.

probably says somewhere but i cant find it :\
also, people keep saying that its great for shadowpreists. and i know that you heal people when you use any SP spell, but does it proc from that?
i tried it out a fair bit, but it didnt proc for me at all, am i just unlucky?

As a Disc Priest, Mandala has found its way back into one of my trinket spots for Firelands early bosses and with my current T11 gear.
This is just my experience, but I have been somewhat blown away by how underrated Mandala of Stirring Patterns has become in the healing community. This was my first 359 trinket obtained after I created the Vibrant Alchemist's Stone, so obviously I ran with these two when in early Tier 11 raiding.
With lower gear levels, Spirit is crucial, and I was hard pressed at times to find it when first switching from 346 blues to 359 epics. The next trinket I obtained was Darkmoon Card: Tsunami so I used that in combination with the Alchemist's Stone until I got the 4 piece simply due to the secondary stats that the Stone provided combined with the potion buff that I often needed to heal my through the fights at lower gear levels.
Now that I have the 4 piece and have began raiding Firelands (3/7 at the moment), I switched back to Mandala combined with the Darkmoon Card: Tsunami for more throughput since I wasn't having major mana issues and boy was I pleasantly surprised.
With the huge buff to crit in patch 4.2, Mandala's Int proc makes my heals hit harder than a mack truck! Also, waiting for an opportune time when Mandala procs and then popping Shadowfiend and Hymn of Hope basically restored all of my mana back even when at around 30%. Especially if I pop Power Infusion and Lifeblood right before.
It is SOOO nice when about 3/4 of the way through the fight, seeinng my mana start to dip low, and then seeing Mandala proc, popping Power Infusion, Lifeblood, Shadowfiend, and Hymn of Hope and starting basically from 100% again!
So as of right now, I am using Mandala and Darkmoon Card: Tsunami. When I am in Holy spec, I switch to Darkmoon Card and Fall of Mortality of the Alchemist Stone.
