Not specifically related to this item, but it is possible to have multiple of the same drop per boss kill now (this off-hand dropped 2x last night for my guild).

Is this seriously the only epic quality off-hand for dps casters? As a fire mage, haste is useless for me, even the 残忍角斗士的决战 is starting to look good in comparison to this...

As of 4.1 you may well be right, as there is a rather BIG change coming to ignite that means we may well be able to just cram as much crit onto our gear as we possibly can. Until then, haste is your friend, not your enemy.

Even with the Ignite change, consensus seems to be that haste is worth more than crit. SimulationCraft tells me crit is slightly better in a Patchwerk fight, but haste is much better in a Helter-Skelter fight. Rawr (which has only one preset fight style) is somewhere in the middle, showing a slight advantage for haste. (NB: According to Rawr's graph, I'm not near any haste plateaus.)
