Very long process to obtain this mount. The poster above me has some great links for the quests. It is rumored that in the expansion reputation obtained is increased so if you want to do this wait until then as it might be a less strenuous process.

It would appear that by the description ("very fast mount" ) this is an epic mount, and yet it only requires 75 riding skill, making it unique and allowing you to save a good amount of gold.
Still, it's not really worth the grind, imo. You'll need the riding skill eventually anyways to get a flying mount, and by then no one's gonna give a crap if you spent ungodly amounts of time to grind a rather plain looking cat.

I've started the quests for this, 3 hours in and 1800/3000 nuetral.
I'm guessing one of the best things to do would be to pick up both quests, go do furblogs then grind your way back up, handing in for 150 - rather than 75.
Make good use of the long run tbh.

Exalted has been achieved. I love this mount. All that effort, all that time and all that boredom was worth it. 42K rep.....no grind will ever be as annoying. I'm happy it's over. I did get 4 lvls and 720ishG (after repairs, and D/Eing all greens), I started with 50G. I was able to purchase my flying mount, and this one and still have over 500G left over. I will only ride my flying mount when I have no choice.
I've pushed my way to exalted with darny too. I know its not needed anymore, but I was revered before they changed it -- figured id just finish it out.
Have fun. It's a long way.

Ok.. I've started this grind a few days ago I"m at 4250/6000. I got the second quest at 1500/3000 as stated.. how ever I tried to do just the second quest as stated... and I can't do it. You have to pick up the first one before the second is availabe form the trainer. When I tried to turn it in it wouldn't let me. you have to turn the first one in before the trainer gives you the option to turn the second one in. Now I don't know if this is going to change when I get the third...(fingers crossed) the drop rate on the first hurts..lol.
I have a lvl 64 NE Hunter. and I'm getting 10 rep for killing each Shamen and Ursa.

I just ground out this rep for something to do.
from 1500/3000 neutral to exalted, it took me about 14 hours.
when i got to doing the winterfall intursion and Rampaging giants, each round was about 10-15 minutes.
I was doing the quests for 2 characters at the same time, had one on follow, and a pally friend on follow so i had crusader aura as well, made things faster :P
Wasn't too bad, just had to kill a bunch of ppl trying to do the quests that involved killing my shamans/ursas.
one day grind, one quite long day.

I got this mount yesterday and it took around 20 hours for me AOE grinding as a fire mage. It's not a hard mount to get now at all, it just takes a few hours of grinding but it's worth it and if you're a class with good AoE spells then the grinds even easier, I got a few nice drops while doing it too, a lot of frost protection recipes and several BoE blues and one epic. I also looted around 30 stacks of runecloth. You will most likely make a profit rather than a loss whilst grinding this as you can hearth to Everlook when your inventory is full to mail things, repair and vendor. The amount of Winterfall Spirit Beads you get also means you can get a nice amount of reputation with the Timbermaw Furbolgs.

by far this is the only mount available for riding skill 75. i think this would be useless to grind rep for cuz if you were gonna raise to get flying mounts you would need riding 150 as a reagent.

Took me a prolonged weekend (started early Saturday, finished late Monday) to earn 42000 rep, in 4 "runs". After dinging honored, it is advised to ignore the meat quest completely and concentrate on killing the Furbolgs and Giants, which will net you 600 (660) per turn and takes like 20 minutes at Lv 70, so even with breaks for selling trash and sending stuff to your bank char from Everlook, getting 1500-2000 rep per hour isn't a problem if you stay focused and no one else is doing the quest. In addition, killing furbolgs also boosts your Timbermaw reputation and the vast amount of dropped runecloth can be turned in for faction rep as well. As a miner and enchanter, I farmed hundreds of thorium ores and got nice amounts of illusion dust and greater eternals plus a Lifestone (epic trinket) drop, so money-wise it was very rewarding as well.
And of course, being a Human Paladin is a significant plus in finishing the grind.

As a level 63 Human Priest on a 60% horse with carrot trinket, it takes me ~ 12 minutes per turn-in currently, taking the cross-country route through the mountains with the village to myself.
I think it works out to
~ 3 minutes from Frostsabre to village
~ 6 minutes killing
~ 3 minutes from village to Frostsabre
A little longer if I have to kill Den Watchers to make Shaman spawn

I found the Giants way too difficult as a 63 Priest. It took nearly a full bar of mana to defeat one with 6500 mana, +400 spell damage and +100 mp5.

I disagree about this mount losing its worth.
While the quest rewards have had a substantial rep increase when compared to the initial release, it's still a mount to be desired.
I'm currently grinding to get this while at level 60, and I've only encountered one other player with the same goal. And aside from her, I've only encountered one person during my months of playing, with this mount.
I have a couple hours a day to work on the quests, so this grinding is definitely not flying by. I'm thankful there was a reputation increase or I wouldn't even hope of getting this mount for a long, long, long time, which really sucks for those with limited time to work at such things. Now I can set a reasonable goal for myself while keeping my sanity.

I did this rep grind on my warlock in about 20 hours total. Affliction specc'ed...level 70. About 1100 shadow damage. In the 20 hours I never stopped to drink or eat once. Imp out the whole time and dark pact for mana. The siphon life actually returned more life than I lost during the life tap.
I never stopped to cast...just cast on the move....curse of agony, corruption and siphon life...keep running, move to the next mob...by the time I stopped I had 5-6 dead laying around me. Loot them...move onto the next group. Rinse and repeat. 20 hours total...and I did do all the quests, even though there was extra running involved...get a riding crop!
I'd like to thank Jubtik the Manaless.....my imp for all the help :)

This trainer never did anything. He supposedly was the counter part of Alliance Winterspring Frostsaber Trainer but he never gave any Qs to rep up with, nor did he appeard as faction once u talked to him like usual with factions.
Its possible that Blizzard decided not to give Hordes a Ravasaur factions mount after seeing that the Winterspring one was rare and only done by a handful of people on each server
I suspect that the reason why this rep grind mount was never implemented was b/c of the level disparity. Grinding for a L60 mount in a low-50 zone would be too simple. Unless they had you running to Silithus, but that seems a bit excessive.
When you look at Winterspring / EP / Silithus, it's hard to see how you could tie raptor lore into the zone.
By the end of the grind you'll of made way over 2000g. Myself, I had 5 cards, 2 epics, 3 blues and a Mooncloth back recipe.
There is no point in grinding this mount for the sake of saving money. Also by the time you hit 70 if you quested you should have at least 1.1k gold.
Few tips for the brave people out there joining the minority :D
1. Get yourself a riding crop. You will spend 80-90% of your time running while doing this quest. Knocking 10% off of that is great.
2. Kill everything in the camp. They both spawn on the same points. The Shamans are the ones you will be hunting for, so be sure to kill everything. At 70 it is easy to 1-2 shot these mobs so no worries about the time you'll add.
3. Kill all players. The worst thing that can happen is you having to wait around for spawns because someone is grinding. Don't worry, at 55+ they have a million places to grind, but you only have 1 viable spot to get this mount at.
4. Ignore the elite quest. Simple.
5. Go cross country. Riding crop + 60 mobs + 70 agro range = no time. It's unlikely you'll be dazed and dismounted by 60 mobs, run in the straightest line possible.
6. Make a bank character. Don't waste time running / porting / flying to your factions capitals to empty your bags. Get a mass mail mod (like CT_mailmod), sell your trash and send anything you want to your bank toon and get back to grinding.
7. Don't expect it over night. If you are hardcore and play 13-16 hours a day it can be done in a week. (16hours * 9minutes/run / 75rep/run = 8k a day, 4.67days.). It is now faster than it was at 60, due to the lack of grinders and increased rep but it's still a long grind.
8. Don't compete with your fellow farmers! Someone else grinding the mount? I'm sure they will be more than happy to have a friend to do it with (even better if its a pala, crusader aura ftw, eh? :P)
Also, the mount does have a brown saddle which does ruin it to an extent. But it's easily the best looking mount in game atm.
And for all you hordies I've got my fingers crossed that Blizz add your lovely Dino mount in WotLK, seems a bit unfair that alliance get something so unique and you get nowt, and after 2.0, well you'r black war raptor has somewhat lost its appeal as now it's SO common.

Just finished this grind for the 2nd time on my shaman. Thats once on a Holy Priest and Elemental Shaman. Joy! I really do like this mount, which must be obvious. I found it much quicker to do all 3 quests instead of just doing the one to kill the furbies. Setting HS to Everlook is a great help. (even better with Astal Recall) Good luck to anyone completing this grind, its tiring but well worth it.

EDIT:
It took me four days total from 10 am to 10 pm at night every day to get Exalted
. Granted that I had to go sometimes to raid with my guild or something of the like on my main. On the alt I got it, I am currently a Lvl 71 Human frost mage.
Provions and Intrusion
will give humans
275 rep
per turn in. When you hit honored you will be able to do the
Rampaging Giants
and that gives us
385 rep
per turn in. I did all three because it's just so much rep, and if you do it efficiently then you won't spend more than half and hour (if even that, I spent a little under 20 mins per 3 sets of turn ins from riding to and from Frostsaber rock with no riding buffs) on a set of three... but that also depends if you can one shot the non elite mobs and 2 hit (maybe even one shot) the elite ones. Now if you're a frost mage like myself, then doing Rampaging is pretty rediculous, but we do have arcane and fire spells so it ain't so bad-- a little slow if anything because we aren't spec'd that way, haha.
You don't even have to worry about the spawn rate if you do it like this because by the time you are done with one quest, the things that people killed before for the other quests would've already respawned-- and in any case, the spawn rate is pretty quick, IMO.
Towards the last turn in there were just too many people doing the Winterfall Intrusion, so I just did Provisions twice--
and now I have myself the pride of all that is purple in this game! ^.^
Anyway, I'd say if you can't stand doing repetitive tasks and you just want it to boast and it's not really your favorite of your mounts-- then this ain't the mount for you. If you desperately love purple and tigers, and to have them in one
and
you have
all the patience in the world,
or you
really
and
truly
want that mount achievement... then have fun grinding! Haha.

I did this quest for no reason. I really don't know why because I'm playing a death knight at the moment and the archerus deathcharger is a perfectly fine mount.
After I quested my way into friendly I started to read the comments on here and I thought "how crazy am I?" because getting this mount will take a loooong time.
I started out as a level 61 death knight and I have to say: don't do this quest if you don't have a fast mount. You are riding most of the time and I'm really thankful that I had the deathcharger. And I know that I won't do this with my druid until he has a fast mount.
And I don't know IF I will do this with my druid.
All the grinding got me to level 63, I gained around 300g (without the gold the greens and blues will bring in the AH) and i collected 300 Winterfall Spirit Beads.
And there are a lot of people that probably hate me on my server because the Winterfall camp was always very crowded.
I would recommend doing the giant quests to if you are in the same level range as I was because you gain some experience and, at least on my server, nobody seems to care for them.
Good luck everybody with doing this.
And thanks to everybody that is writing helpful comments on wowhead.

My rogue did this before the rep nerf. Took from level 58 to 62 and I spent a lot on buffs when I first started the elite giants quests. Didn't get to go to Outlands and gear up that whole time. Even now that we're in Northrend I still get whispers about my pretty kitty...
My level 80 shammie is doing it now. What a difference. I'm only about 58 intrusion/giants quests from getting it.
My advice is to drop the meat quests as soon as the giants become available. You can do two circuits of both intrusion and giants in the time it will take you to complete one meat quest.
Side bonus is Timbermaw Hold rep. You get about 200 from killing the shamans and ursas, then more for the beads they drop.

Okay, here goes... please try to keep the flammage to a controllable level. *Deep breath*
I believe the quests, and in turn the mount, should be made available to Horde players. Why, you ask? Two simple reasons, although the second is, in my opinion, the much more important one.
1. They were going to implement a Horde-varient in Un'Goro crater with a Horde-only spiffy Raptor mount. As we all are well aware, that has of yet not come to pass. Doesn't particularly seem fair that there's one ultra-spiffy mount that is Alliance-only. FYI: I play both Alliance and Horde.
2. C'mon, its in the shadow of Mt. Hyjal, where THE most pivitol battle against the Legion in Azeroth took place; where both the Horde and the Alliance stood united against the might of the demonic Burning Legion and killed one of its top generals, Archimonde. Its such an important piece of Warcraft history that there's even a Caverns of Time instance for it. You would think there would be a small something, anything, commemorating that fact. I know its the World of WARcraft, but there have been heroes and villains on BOTH sides. Its never just as simple as the "Noble Alliance" vs the "Evil Horde". Greatest humanitarian ever: Thrall. Greatest villain ever: Arthas. Those two are but a minute sample of the less-than-simple history of Azeroth. That place, and its history, and the history of both the Alliance and the Horde is steeped in so much awesome lore, that the least Blizz could do is offer a small token commemorating 10+ years of Warcraft awesomeness, and allow such a brilliant and gorgeous mount to be available to both factions in memory of that lore.

Requires Riding (75!)
Use: Teaches you how to summon this mount. This is a very fast mount.
Has some1 more then I noticed that the wowhead toolotip says: Requires 75 riding. 75 riding is learnable at lvl 30(lvl 20 after patch 3.2)? A mistake by wowhead or do Blizzard think that you don't have to pay the 150 riding skill if you've grinded this much?

Refering to the PTR patch notes horde will be able to obtain
Whistle of the Venomhide Raptor
In 3.2 Horde will be albe to obtain this mount in 20 days or more (It takes a minimum of 20 days to obtain the mount)
No changes have been made to the alliance mount it will still take players 2-3 months to obtain the mount
Anyone know if they plan to change how long it takes to obtain the alliance mount?

As the above posters have said, there's no Achievement or Feat of Strength for this. But that's okay, people who do this grind are in it for the mount anyway. And yes for you Hunters who like your pets to be pretty, keep your eyes open for Rak'shiri, a beautiful azure-tinted rare spawn.
I started this grind as soon as I dinged 60. I waited until 60 instead of starting at 58, so I'd have my epic mount. This really isn't a big deal for the initial quest, as there are mobs who drop the Meat are close by. But by the time you start hitting Winterfall Village - and certainly Frostwhisper Gorge - another 40% boost to your travel speed will really make a difference!
It took me a large part of one weekend to finish the grind; Started on a Friday night, grinded a bit, logged. Came back Saturday morning and spent the day grinding (it was a loooooong day), logged. Sunday morning for a couple of hours, finished up.
It wasn't bad at all...It's tedious and repetitive and you're going to hate snowy landscapes by the time you're done, but it isn't the worst grind I've ever done, not by a long shot. The worst part was having to contend with every level 80 on the damn server trying to either do the same grind, or get their Timbermaw trinket.
(I'm not sure what doing something 22 levels, 5 Tier sets and 2 expansions below you is supposed to prove, but oh well.)
That reminds me...if you're thinking of getting Exhalted with Timbermaw Hold, you can very easily do so just by doing the Wintersaber grind. I got my Trinket before I ever got my mount.
Also, running to and from the quest-giver you will often be attacked. If you're doing this in a level-appropriate range, expect a lot of attention from the nearby cats. Every trip.
Anyway, I was level 64 (midway to 65) before I finished. The quests themselves give no XP, but the mobs (especially the Elite giants) give great XP. Even at 64 I was pulling in well over 500 per kill, non-rested. And they are easily soloable.
Not to mention if you have a gathering profession (or two) you can make a killing on Icecap, Thorium, and Rugged Leather. Plus the mobs drop a lot of vendor trash (you'll need to hit Everlook once in a while to empty your bags), the furbolgs drop money and Runecloth, the Elite giants drop a lot of money (and a lot of Frost Protection Potion recipes, lol) and the occasional BoE blue or epic. So don't fret over missing out on Outland loot or XP or gold. You're not going to we wearing anything from Hellfire for long anyway, the XP from the mobs you kill is excellent (the levels will fly by), and you'll rake in plenty of money.
If you're leveling an Alliance character that is still in Azeroth and you're considering going for one of these mounts, I encourage you to go for it. Don't be a slacker and wait until 80; Start doing it at 60 (or even 58 if you're truly patient). Then go back to Ironforge and mock all the 80's who think they're special for doing what you did 20 levels sooner.
It's especially nice while you're sitting at the mailbox collecting all your AH earnings. =)
Finally a couple of notes to cut your travel time...you can set your Hearthstone to Everlook. With the cooldown change from one hour to 30 minutes, it can save you a little time. Those of you two-boxing with the RaF thing, park your RaF partner by the quest-giver and you'll have an instant-port across the zone once per hour. If you're level 69 or 70, bring a Riding Crop. Level 68 or under, do the Spurs/Riding Skill/Carrot thing. Trust me, you'll want to shave every second of travel time you can.
A helpful map can be found over on wowwiki; just look up Wintersaber Trainers. Their Timbermaw reputation grind guide is also good.
Good luck!

As mentioned before, make sure you do the quest
Winterfall Activity
before starting this grind! By having that quest completed, you can pick up a lot of Winterfall Spirit Beads, just from killing those Ursas and Shamans.
I personally did
Timbermaw Ally
and
Winterfall Activity
, before starting this grind. I've been doing all the Wintersaber quests on every round (drops are currently not bad at all, taking only a minute or two to complete), and I just hit revered with Wintersaber.
I've been killing the entire Winterfall camp every round, instead of just going for 5 Ursas and Shamans, and I hit revered with Timbermaw with just over 300 beads in my pocket. That's almost enough to cross from revered to exalted with Timbermaw. Saves yourself a secondary grind :)

One aesthetic reason for grinding this mount is that it is the only swift cat mount that shares a model with the non-swift versions. All of the other swift cats are armored.

I got this FoS today, oktober 6, patch 3.2.2 (10505), on a EU server.
I was suprised I got it, I thought it was available only
before
3.2. Reason I got it might be that I started the rep grind 3 years ago?
Highly recomended, all 3 quests when you get them, even in grp. Grping is very good for killing the teddys(and spirit beads for timbermaw rep if you are'nt exalted) and giants(sometimes far apart). Meat not so much, but its a fast kill and lots of Rugged Leather.
10-20mins a lap with all 3 quests. Set HS to Everlook, if you are a Scribe, you have that Scroll of Recall aswell, and if you have the Dalaran ring, it's just sweet. Took 16h or less. Tons of Runecloth, alot of greens and meat, made close to 1K gold buy selling all to vendors, and AH(but thats just cuz my server is like that).
Tips on teddys:
Be in a grp(spread out), learn where the teddys spawn, kill all you see for quicker respawns, park pets at respawn points(on aggro), set traps on respawn points. Teddys are also up on the ridge above the village.
Tips on Giants:
Go right before the bridge, 2 giants, go down. You should have 4 of each now, and no need to go over the bridge. Avoid going near the edge of the cliffs, easy to slipp off.

. Was a tough grind but i did it :) Pressing complete quest on the last turn in was probably one of the best feelings i've had ;P BTW i suggest skipping the 3rd repeatable where you're supposed to kill the yeti's. I don't have the time to calculate if it's quicker like that but that's how i did it :)

There is no notaion in my reputaion window for this faction, so I guess I'm going to have to keep my own score. After four completes at this writing, i should be 1100/3000, Neutral. I've found no other references or quests for this faction....bummer!

This is one of the most beautiful land mounts in the game, I feel very sorry for Horde players who can't have it.
But for Alliance players who are up to the task here's how I did it without going nuts:
As many other grindings in the game, this one is particularly very long and exhaustive for two reasons: you start with only one quest to gain reputation and the drop rate for the quest items is not so great. And the quests you can complete once friendly/honored require you to go to quite far away places in order to be completed (
this
and
this
). So my advice is: stablish a number, it can be X reputation or Y runs, and do it every day. By no means try to do as many runs as you can in one single day, it will make you tired, bored and possibly angry at Blizz. I suggest trying to earn 3000 reputation per day, that way it will take you 17 days (assuming no bonus reputation gain) to get your mount assuming you are 0/3000 neutral.
Happy grinding.

I just finished this grind which took me 2 weeks to complete doing it off and on. I sat for hours and finished up it up from Revered to Exhalted. The grind wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but the limited amount of Winterfalls to kill was annoying. I just wish Blizzard would make the spawn rate of them faster or make them spawn in other locations. Other than that I'm glad I finally have this beautiful mount.

The worst part would be killing the Winterfalls when the realm was full and it seemed as if everyone in Winterspring was doing the quest. All in all it is one quest chain I will not forget doing in a long time.

As a Horde player, I really envy Alliance for having this mount. Our Ravasaur really doesn't compete with the looks of this mount.
Considering how many raptors we, horde players, have available, and the long grind required for this mount, I would feel that this mount should be available to Hordies and the Ravasaur to be available to Alliance players. (I'm sure they've got enough tigers themselves)

I started this, yesterday, with my 80 night elf hunter, cause I wasn't sure if it'll be there after the Cataclysm. In about 3 hours, or a bit more, and countless of turn-in's, I got from neutral to friendly. Ofcourse, the quests are cake at 80, it's the terrain, and running back and forth. There is an elite taurren who walks around, and tried to beat on my night elf, while she was doing the meat turn in quest. When I tried shooting back, the taurren said, "let's not make each other enemies." and walked away.
The rep grind isn't bad. The worst rep grind in the game was for my dwarf to be exalted with Darnassus. That was vicious, also the Settis Sky guy where you get the nether ray flying mount. Also, I am getting timbermaw rep. A long time ago, I accidently killed a few of their own, so I am hated with the timbermaw. So I'll be at it today, when I should be camped to get the spirit beast tamed.

I spent a lot of time grinding this on my Hunter from level 58 to 60. It was well worth the time spent on it, but I haven't been able to repeat the grind on other characters. My Hunter has since turned Horde and my purple tiger turned into a raptor. :( Now I ride around on my Black War Talbuk because I just don't like the raptor. Horde's mount isn't unique enough in comparison to other raptors as this purple tiger is in comparison to the Night Elf mounts.
I prefer Horde's way of getting the mount, though. Raising a baby tiger to an adult to use as a mount would be so much cooler than a rep grind.

quest starts from night elf guy Riven Frostwind. When you hit friendly, you will get quest to kill furbolgs.Thats 2 quests, each 250rep 262 with perk.
Reachin honored or revered, cant remember exactly will give you third quest.
after geting all 3 quests i did a little research.Frostsaber provision quest can be done in 2 minutes which gives you 250 rep.
after that i did 3 quests alltogether, which took me about 12-20 mins if i am lucky (usually there is few people farming furbolgs and giants) 250+250+350 = 850 rep in 15min average,so you see what is faster :P
cba to count further cause im not that math expert and forgot half of things to say,but this is for sure the fastest way to farm rep for this beauty.

Just got it last night, and it seems like things have changed again, lately. The first two quests gave 275 rep per turn in, and the giants' quest 385 - that's 930 rep per cycle.
I found that the giants didn't respawn very quickly, so I skipped that one once every 3 cycles. If there aren't enough, don't wait for them to respawn - just skip that quest this run and do it next time, or you'll lose a lot of time.
In the furbolg village it seemed like killing the mobs on the hill to the south caused mobs to respawn in the village - I had no real problems finding shamans doing the hill first, then the village, then the hill again and so on.
In the area between the village and the questgiver it's not hard to find a route that will allow you to chain-kill the bears and then the chimeras without the need to mount up.
On a 310% mount one cycle including the giants took about 8 minutes - expect to see more of these gorgeous sabers!

I ran this route for months, making sure I did not go utterly insane. It helped to be a level 80-85 for the entire run.
Here are some tips:
1. Be a human character.
1a. If you cannot be a human character, see if you can wheedle your way into a large guild to get the rep. buff.
2. If you are running this during the Thanksgiving festival, there is a reputation buff. You have to stuff yourself at the
table in some particular way. Man, that saved me a lot of time pre-guild rep buff.
The nice thing about #2 was that it forced me to be reasonable. Each day of the festival, I did this once and stopped grinding when the buff wore off.
3. You must have a flying mount. The giants provide a 350 rep benefit and appear to be reachable only by a flying mount.
Here was how I did it once I got to all three quests:
1. Pick up and drop off (like the Car Talk guy's driver) with the crazy cat man.
2. Grab the three quests.
3. Fly to the chillwind bat things and get your lewts to feed the kitties. Do not stop for bears.
4. Go to the furry thing settlement and kill everything in sight. You probably won't get all your shamans.
5. Harass the giant things. If you are a miner, you can mine them, but the drop rate on good things is not really worth it.
6. Kill your bears while harassing the giants. Collect lewts for the kitties.
7. The second you are done killing giants, hit the settlement on the way back to pick up stray furry people, hit the chillwind valley if you are short on bear meat for the kitties.
8. If you see other level 85s farming the village, find another faction to rep grind on. It is not worth the delays.
8a. If you see low levels questing there, let them have the mobs.
If you only have two quests, then just do those :D
More to consider:
If you are serious about this grind, become a miner. Why? Thorium. Why? Darkmoon Faire Rep and tickets. All of the cloth drops are runecloth. You use the thorium and runecloth to make thorium widgets. My main is the pet/mount/achievement collector and is too high a level to benefit from DMF rep. However, my other 'toons are not. I had my rogue ported to Shattrath with bags brimming with thorium widgets (and pelty things from leveling her in Hillsbrad). She went to 2500+ Friendly rep in her very first visit to the Faire.

With a flying mount there is no need to do any other quest then
https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/quest=4970
Did some runs yesterday just for fun, and the quest above took at avarage 2:40min to complete @ lvl85 with a 280% flying mount.
At the same time it took to do all three quests i managed to complete a little more then 4 runs of the first mentioned.
If its 250 rep per quest (if none human and none guild rep awards) can be achived in 3min flat and 42000rep is the total needed the amount of time just repeating this quest would be (as of today) 42000/250*3/60=8h 15min

Some changes are coming for the aquirement of this mount in 4.1.0. making it pretty much the same as the
Venomhide Ravasaur
.
This change will lower the overall time it takes to aquire the mount but will also make it take no less than 20 days to complete. All the current quests are being replaced by a new
Main quest
and a few random daily quests of which you can only recieve and complete one per day.
The main quest will ask you to raise a
Winterspring Cub
.
Every day your Winterspring Cub will give you one of a few different daily quests. When completed you will recieve a
Winterspring Cub Whisker
.
After having collected 20 cub whiskers you hand those in together with 20x
Rugged Leather
, 20x
Runecloth
and 80
gold
to
Rivern Frostwind
to recieve your now fully grown
Winterspring Frostsaber
.
These daily quests do not appear to give reputation towards the
Wintersaber Trainers
on the current PTR-build, making you unable to become exalted with them for the time being.

This is really a breeze to do now. With the ability to fly now, you can literally do it in a day. The drop rates for the 2 meats are 100% and there are a couple more shaman now. The giants are easy as well provided you can down them easily. Simply start on one of the sides of the ridge where they spawn and run all the way across to the other side and you'll get your kills. With the guild rep gain I was able to get 935 rep(honored through exalted) per trip back to the trainer. Humans will be able to get even more.
There is also a fun little achievement that you can complete in the area while doing the quests its called
E'ko Madness
.

I obtained this mount on my Priest at lvl 70. I'd trained before at 60 and didn't feel like spending months and months to get it back them so I give respect to those who got this mount back in vanilla. It took me about a week of doing these quests to get this mount. The drop rates are way better. I would grab the three quests, then run a circle completing them until I had all of them done. I did this for about 6 hours a day, for bout 5-6 days and finally got the mount. This rep grind will be cut in half now because of the 10% rep increase from guild. More people are going to have this mount. I believe this is kinda lame for those who obtained it back in vanilla. I think blizzard should compensate for the time the put into getting this mount back then. Anyway, love this mount. I've heard people say the new mount looks are much better, I disagree. I love the way this mount looks. It reminds me of the epic night-saber mounts back in vanilla. The ones with no armor. =) miss those! So I love this mount!

After procrastinating for a looooong time I finally got this on my mage.
I was at 10,000/12,000 honored...almost revered and I read the patch notes. Got a few thousand a couple days ago and managed 20K today.
I got this mount on my lock 2 years ago..in 16 hours....and I've gotten the horde mount in the 20 days...but I didn't want to give up the rep I'd gotten on my mage...so I did the grind...before the patch hit.
level 70 mage, ice lanced, fire blast everything...5-6 minutes for the closest quests and about 1/2 through I skipped the giants quest as I found the flying time lost actual rep/time as it would take me 13-15 minutes total. I could complete the other two faster.
Complete this while you can...probably not much time left!

Looks like the mount is now done via a 20 quest line similar to the Horde's
Venomhide Ravasaur
. Note thing to note though, I was already at Exalted with the Wintersaber trainers pre patch and when I talked to the trainer, he still had the mount available for sale. Also, out of curiosity a friend and I tried sharing the quests
Frostsaber Provisions
,
Winterfall Intrusion
, and
Rampaging Giants
, letting her turn them in, then having me share them back to her. This worked and she still got rep for the quests. So you still can get Exalted with the
Wintersaber Trainers
faction. What's not known is if you hit exalted doing this will you be able to buy the mount like you could prepatch.

If you discard your whiskers and do the daily for 1-3 more days (depending on guild perks/racial bonus etc) then you can hit Exalted with the
冬刃豹训练师
and then buy this directly from
雷沃·霜翼
for 70g. Saves 10g in cash as well as however much 20
硬甲皮
and 20
符文布
costs on your server.

Very cool mount to the Alterac Valley battleground.

I am on the 4th day of the daily and so far I have 8 whiskers, I have noticed there is in fact 2 dailies per day and not 1 for the mount.
I'm unsure if this is a bug or not but if you do the daily just after the dailies reset then go back to Winterspring again exactly an hour before the dailies are due to reset again your pet has another daily for you to do making it possible to earn 2 whiskers per day.

Pretty sure you get this from the NPC in Winterspring in the north, named Rivern Frostwind.

The people above mostly have no clue what they are speaking about. Let me elucidate.
This is a special mount which is only obtainable from a vendor in Winterspring. In order for him to allow you to buy it from him, you need Exalted status with him. To get that status, there is a series of three quests you perform over and over and over (one quest you repeat to get from Neutral to Friendly, one from Friendly to Revered, etc.) Once you have Exalted with this vendor, you can purchase the mount from him for 900g.
However, in order to ride it you need to have the Tiger Riding (1) skill. This is the same skill used by elves to ride their normal tigers, so an elf with this skill doesn't have to train in anything else. But if you are not an elf, you must gain Exalted status with Darnassus.
There is only one way you can do this currently, by doing the Morrowgrain to Darnassus/Feathermoon quest. This is a repeatable quest you can do for Darnassus reputation.
In short: it is an incredible achievement for an elf to get this mount, and a truly epic achievement for a gnome, human, or dwarf to get it. I have never even seen an elf with it in all my time playing (Earthen Ring server) and certainly no other races.
Good luck.

Just finished up getting the faction for this mount, I'll try to answer a lot of the questions posted.
Yes, you do need to be Exalted with the Wintersaber Trainers in order to buy this mount. It is NOT a rare drop or anything like that, it is sold to you by Rivern when you hit Exalted. You can only gain faction by doing the quests he offers.
You get the three quests at certain faction levels. The first at Neutral, the second at half way to Friendly, and the third at half way to Honored.
You must do the first quest 30 times to get half way through Neutral to get the second quest.
If you use a Reputation mod, you will see that amount of reputation goes Neutral -> Friendly (3000) -> Honored (6000) -> Revered (12000) -> Exalted (21000). In total, that is 42,000 reputation needed and each quest gives 50 reputation. Do the math, that's 840 quest turn-ins to reach Exalted. (Humans with the 10% faction bonus will need to do this 840-84 times, or 756).
The first quest is based on a 20% drop rate of quest items and may take someone 45 minutes to an hour to this quest once. The second quest is based on killing a set number of mobs in Winterfall Village. The third quest is also based on killing a set number of mobs, but they are extremely hard Elite Giants and they are located on the other side of the map in Frostwhisper Gorge.
All three quests give the same amount of reputation and the second one is by far the fastest, so you can decide which one to repeat. Assuming the quest takes you about 15 minutes to complete (including going back and forth to drop it off), it would take you a total of 210 real hours to do the quest 840 times. That is about nine days by itself, and seeing as how no one can play for nine days continuously doing this, it will take you months to get it (personally it took me a little over 2 months doing it every single day).
Yes you also have to learn the Tiger Riding ability from Darnassus to ride this mount, Rivern does not teach it to you. That means if you're not Night Elf, you have to get Exalted with Darnassus before you can purchase and learn Tiger Riding.
The mount was not given any armor or anything extra in the patch and still looks completely unique as compared to the other Night Elf mounts.
You can only do each quest once before having to turn it in to get it again. You cannot collect an abundance of meats or kill a lot of mobs and get multiple quest credits at once.
And finally, here's a pic so you can see how it looks:

Human reputation boost is 10%.
50 + (50 x .1) = 55
You start at neutral (0) and halfway through neutral (1500) you can unlock the second quest.
55 x 28 = 1540.
I did this first quest as fast as 18 minutes, and as slow as 35 minutes. It mainly depends on the drop rate. Given that Im going to take my lowest and highest and come up with a mean (average). (18 + 35) / 2 = 26.5 minutes
26.5 x 28 = 12.366
Now this is an estimate because you cant be sure how often it will drop, and if horde will gank you or not. So its a little over 12 hours to get the second quest, not so bad when you think about it.
Now that you have unlocked the second quest, Winterfall Intrusion, its all about grinding from then on. Kill 5 shamans and 5 ursas, and based from what everyone says it takes about 15 minutes to get the quest, ride over, complete the quest, ride back, turn in. so that is 4 quests per hour.
55 x 4 = 210.
Thats 210 reputation per hour. Now suppose you did this 4 hours a day.
210 x 4 = 840
Thats 840 reputation a day, 5880 a week.
Now, how long till youre finally reached exalted? Well lets find out!
Starting at 0 to open the second quest and gain 1540 reputation, it took 12.366 hours approximately. Now if youre going to do it 4 hours a day EVERY day (this is not including the days you started the first quest, this is just including the days that youve been working on Winterfall Intrusion), then on the 49th day you will be exalted.
How many hours of game play? Well it takes 4 hours to get 840 reputation, and 49 days of 4 hours of game play doing solely these quests.
4 x 49 = 196
And with the initial 12.366 hours it will take you 208.366 hours under IDEAL conditions. This means you werent killed once, you havent emptied your bags, you havent repaired, etc. I suggest you empty your bags before you start. Empty them after youre done and repair after youre done. And mainly ask yourself if youre ready to devote 210 hours of your life to a mount. If you are, then I commend you. For everyone who thinks it should be lowered to revered, youre wrong. It is much easier to get revered than exalted and you would see MANY more of these mounts if that was the case, but because you must be exalted, you rarely see anyone with this very unique mount. And about the 800g (if youre rank 3 PVP) you make MORE than that just grinding for 210 hours straight so money shouldnt be an issue. One thing that I think would be neat is have a Use: ability on the mount. If you noticed hunters have them as pets all the time and they can dash. How cool would it be to Dash on your mount thats already going 100% to 150%. Does blizzard read this? Probably not but I just thought Id let everyone dream :P. For myself Im in it for the long haul and since my schedule is busier than most gamers I cant continuously play for 4 hours a day, same quest, for 49 consecutive days. So it will take me closer to 3 months to get this mount, and Im fine with that. Well Im at work and wouldnt have taken the time to type this all if I wasnt so I hoped this helped anyone who was wondering about this awesome mount!
Also, say an epic drop is 1/10000, or .01% chance to drop. By the time you reach exalted you will have killed no less than 1960 (probably more do to spawns and such) but that means 1960/10000. thats a 19.6% chance for an epic to drop, statistically. So who knows you might pick up an epic or two on the way :P, good luck!

This isn't a bug, Blizzard have just changed the distance that it is possible for party members actions to affect your quest progress.
As for the people that think that this quest is "ridiculous" and Blizzard should make it easier. I completely disagree - the very nature of this mount is that it is incredibly difficult to get, and takes a large amount of time and effort. Having it like that enforces its rarity and makes sure only the people who do the work actually get to ride around on it.
Also, you don't have to be sad and have no life at all to get this mount, that's quite obviously the disgruntled view of someone who panics when they can't ninja an item. Myself and about 3 other people on my server have been grinding this for about an hour a day for about 2 months or so, and we are 3/4 of the way there now.
I think it's simple really, if you're not willing to put the time in, then read a different topic - don't get peaved at the people who appreciate the difficulty with getting this mount.

I've been doing this casually for over 1 month 1/2 and I'm currently 9350 / 21 000...
It's long yes...
It's boring yes...
PvP Server ftl on this grind...
But some things people gotta remember :
1) Furlborg rep
2) Darn rep with all the runecloth that drops
3) Grind for money one way or another
4) When you'll have it you'll be sick lookin' !
Because of that I'm doing it ! Until the end !
*EDIT*
10 days after I'm @ 17 000 / 21 000 ! getting there !
It's been 2-3 weeks since I got it and love it :)

So, I just started doing quests for this dude last night at 2:18am. So far I've turned in three quests (I didn't play all night... just for a few hours) and I'm halfway through another one now.
I've found three decent greens so far, and I have skinning so I've gotten about forty stacks of various leathers, as well as a ton of vendor junk from the mobs.
I'm planning on farming for this mount for as much time as possible over the next few weeks (months?), so I'll post updates every so often, for people who are interested.
Some answers to some common questions on this board:
1. The meats from the bears and chimaera are quest items, so you can't carry more than the alloted quest amount. That means you can have a maximum of 5 Shardtooth Meat and 5 Chillwind Meat with you at any one time. Meat in the bank counts, too.
2. In order to actually
get
the mount, you must get to exalted with "Wintersaber Trainers" and then you can
buy
it from him. It's not free, sorry. Rivern Frostwind is the only person in this faction, and the only way to get rep with him is by doing his quests.
3. That's just to get the mount. If you're not a Night Elf, you must also get to exalted with Darnassus in order to learn Tiger Riding before you can actually
use
the mount. And, of course, you must be level 60 to ride it, as it's an epic mount.
4. The mobs you have to kill for Rivern's first quest have a
very
crappy droprate... Sometimes you will get all your meat in about twenty minutes, and sometimes you'll be killing for an hour before you're done just one quest.
5. Yes, getting this mount takes a friggin long time, but that's the beauty of it. Unlike the ZG mounts, where you have to be either a ninja or just plain lucky to get it, this mount requires an extreme amount of effort to get. Maybe some people don't see what's so special about it, but I think you should be very proud of yourself if you've gotten it.

Back again. Finally finish this horrible horrible yet addictive faction! Kudos to you guys who could get a lock and 2 othersto help you for summoning! It was hard enough to get 1 person to help let alone 3! Took me about 1.75 months to complete. WAY too much time in winterspring and I dont EVER want to go back!

As at 19.01.07
1.
There are 3 types of FROSTSABER mounts available
{Reins of the Frostsaber}
lvl
150 riding skill
. Its one of the Night Elf racial mounts. Other allince races can get it by getting Exaulted with Darnassus and learning 150 riding skill.
{Reins of the Swift Frostsaber}
lvl
150 Riding skill
. PvP reward mount. Any Alliance can get this mount, simply by getting enough PvP tokens.
{Reins of the Winterspring Frostsaber}
lvl
75 Riding skill
. Only WINTERSABER TRAINER rep required . Any race can get this mount so long as you get exaulted with the Wintersaber Trainer.
2.
You only NEED rep with WINTERSABER TRAINER faction to get . For those who cant read english it means you DO NOT need to be exaulted with either the Dwarfs, Gnomes, Night Elfs, Undead, Troll, Orcs, Tuaren, GDI, NOD GLA, Allied or Soviet or Chinese Forces, Terran, Zerg, Protoss, UFP Humans, Vulcan, Romulan, Q, Klingon, Cardassian, Barjoran, Borg, Ferengi, Dominion, Centauri, Drakh, First One, League of non Aligend Worlds, Mibari, Narn, Pak'ma'RA, Shadow, Thirdspace Aliens, Vorlon, Jedi, Sith, Osama Bin Laden OR George Walker Bush (how ever being aligned with Dubba means your house has a 10% of not get bombed accidently by a USAF aircraft especially if its near a foreign embassy)
3.
Rep required : 42,0000
0 - 3,000 : Neutral - Friendly
3,000 - 6,000 : Friendly - Honored
6,000 - 12,000 : Honored - Revered
12,000 - 21,000 : Revered - Exaulted.
4.
You only need lvl 75 riding skill. So if you have a lvl 40 mount, then you can ride this one. Also - riding skills are universal, lvl 75 gnome riding skill is the same as lvl 75 Nightelf riding skill. If you learned it from one faction then you dont need to learn it from another faction.
5.
It IS an EPIC mount. It is the SAME SPEED as all other EPIC MOUNTS.Because its only needs lvl75 riding skill, it looks like other lvl 75 riding skill saber mounts. Meaning you have an Epic mount without armour.
6.
Price $$$ = 90g +lvl75 riding skill (which by lvl 60 you should already have).

Note:
the following information is BASED the on:
A:
your race is HUMAN
B:
You have a lvl 75 riding skill & a mount.
C:
You have the following:
,
,
.
D:
You have Winterspring Village/FrostwhisperGorge to yourself & there is required amount of each kill already spawned in each location.
E:
you do not get DISMOUNTED while riding to and from destinations.
F:
all times are based on STARTING from at Frostsaber Rock
Riding time (ONE WAY - taking shortest direct route):
To Winterfall Village : 2:30secs.
To FrostWhisper Gorge : 4:20secs.
Minimum time to complete KILLS:
SOLO : 5:00mins.
Group : 2-3minS.
:
SOLO : UNKOWN - never tried this on my own since lm a frost mage.
GROUP : 8:00mins - grouped with a Feral Druid.
Minimum time TO COMPLETE QUESTS solo:
: 10:00mins
: 16:40mins
10mins = 82rep per quest
1hour = 492rep per 6 quests
2hrs10mins = 1066rep per 13 quests
Minimum time to get mount ONCE you get to 1500rep and you are on the 2nd quest {Winterfall Intrusion} is:
42,000 - 1500 = 40500rep
40,500/82 = 493.90 Quest hand ins
494 quests * 10mins = 4940mins / 60 = 82.3hrs = 3.4days non stop grinding.
HOWEVER:
this is assuming you have a party to do the kills with and you have the village to yourself. In real life,
l found on AVERAGE the stats were:
1000rep = 3hrs
40.5 * 3 = 121.5hrs /24hrs = 5.06days (non stop grinding)
So if you do :
500rep a day it would take 81 days
1k rep a day, it would take 40.50 days.
2k rep a day, it would take 20.25 days.
NOTE:
Rep gained per quest hand in for humans alternates between 82rep and 83rep. The above info was based on getting 82rep per quest. All other races get 75rep per quest hand in (l dont know if it alternates for them between 75/76 like it is for humans). So make adjustments to calculations.

The following is assuming you are at the front of the Winterfall Village and facing south. I've separated the Village into 5 areas for easier description. They are as follows :
Foyer :
Area outside the main gates.
Ground floor :
Area inside the main gate at the base of the mountian
Middle Floor :
Located taking the pathway up from the Ground floor.
Roof :
is the Mountain Ridge pointing East/west Seperating Winterfall village from the Yeti caves on the other side.
Chief :
Take the left pathway on the Middle floor to access the Winterfall high chief's Cave.
Location of Mobs within winterfall Village:
FOYER :
Has only Den Watchers on either side of the road. There is a solo Furbolg which wanders from left to right.
GROUND floor :
Has 4 camps. Each camp spawns 1 Winterfall Furbolgs, either a SHAMAN or DENWATCHER.
MIDDLE floor :
Has 3 camps. Each camp Spawns 2 Winterfall Furblogs, a combination of either SHAMAN or URSA.
ROOF :
Has 7 spawn sites each with 1 Winterfall URSA.There is a solo Furbolg which wanders EAST/WEST along the top of the Ridge
CHIEF :
Inside the cave there is the Winterfall Chief with 1 SHAMAN and 1 URSA. Between Middle floor and chief's cave, there is one Camp site with 1 Winterfall Furblog either a SHAMAN or URSA.
WINTERFALL SHAMANS :
spawn only on GROUND FLOOR, MIDDLE FLOOR and CHIEF's cave
WINTERFALL URSA :
spawn only on MIDDLE FLOOR, CHIEF's cave and ROOF
The WANDERING FURBOLG :
will spawn as either as a SHAMAN or a DENWATCHER.
CHEST location:
Spawns on one of 4 spots. Either of the left OR right camps on either the GROUND floor OR the MIDDLE floor (got a blue item from one of those chests 8-) ).
BLACK LOTUS:
Spawns behind the left camp on MIDDLE floor, and also one next to YETI Cave entrance which should appear on your mini map if your on the EAST side of the ROOF.

the following is for those who want to get this mount as soon as you can. Others who are casual about getting mount, then just dont read this.
1. Set your self a Quota to achieve each day. whether its 500 rep, 1,000rep, 1,500rep, 2,000 rep. And try and stick to that target. I set myself a target of 1krep a day while l was at work. When l started my holidays l increased this to 3krep a day
2. Do not look at how much total rep is left. ONLY look at how much rep is left to achieve your quota for that day. Because if you look at the total amount of rep left, it will always be HUGE and seem soo far away.
3. Try not to look at rep each time you hand in a quest. Do so every 30mins or hr or so. Then the gains seem bigger
4. Once you get the quest, only concentrate on this one. It is the FASTEST quest to do assuming you have the village to yourself.
5. Competing with other players for kills results in you taking longer to get your 5kill quota of each. If there are other players grinding or questing there, explain to them what you are doing. Then ask them if you can join them to share the kills. If you are willing as l was, forgo some of the loot to get kills. Remember Getting mount should be your first priority.
6. Try going through different routes to see which is quickest. I found riding South along to road to Everlook and and then east to Winterfall Village ment l would not get dismounted. But this is a longer route. Going along a beeline from Frostsaber Rock to Winterfall Village is the shortest route. But chances are you will get dismounted along they way and thus increase the time it takes to hand in.
7. If you get dismounted by a Chillwind Cimmera or a Shardtooth bear, then kill it. Cos if it drops Meat required for First quest, then you can collect it and once you have 5 of each, then thats another quest you can handed in.
8. Lots of money to be made doing this quest. Whether your a herblist, skinner or miner, you will make lots and lots of money. When l first started this, l stoped to harvest every herb that appeared. Then about half way l stoped doing that and concentrated on just handing in quests. If l continued to harvest every ice cap that appeared, ld have more than 500+. As is now l have around 200 icecaps sitting in my bank, as well as around 20 Black lotus. I'd have more but l gave up stopping to harverst herbs so l can concentrate on getting the mount.
9. If there is too many gankers there, log of and try again another time/day or do something else. There really is no point wasting 2hrs trying to do one quest when you can go do a instance run or something in Real Life. All you end up doing is wasting your time and end up being farmed by another player for honor kills.
10. In doing this quest l got Exaulted with Timbermaw hold before l got exaulted with Wintersaber Trainer. Remember to save all your Winterspring Beads till after you hit Revered with Timbermaw Hold, and then hand them in. Once you hit Revered with Timbermaw Hold, the only way you can only get rep from them is by handing in the beads and killing the Highchief in the Winterspring Village.
11. Also once you get exaulted with Timbermaw Hold, they give you quest to kill a demon. to summon the demon they give you a torch. Once you kill the demon, you can hand in the items and get the Defender of the Timbermaw Trinklet. DO NOT HAND IT IN till you get your mount!. If you find there is TOO many farmers or gankers in the village, then just go summon the Demon and go away for a few hours. i did this once and saw a horde group of 4 wipe on it 2 times. Also l let the demon loose on 2 farmers camping the highchief's cave and let the demon kill em for me. One of the funnest thing l ever saw was a t2/3 geared Tauren running away only to die from the demon's curses hahahahaha.
I started this in middle Nov when rep gained was only 55still and not 82 as it is now. i got to 1.5k rep in early december. then hit 11k of Revered in Dec 30th. Went on holidays for 7 days and did the final 10k rep from 9th -19th of jan. Had to stop for 4 days cos everyone was waiting for Burning Crusade to come out so it was Gank Central in WinterFall village. After Burning cursade came out, l took my time getting the last 3k left to get mount. I finnaly got it around 2:30pm 19th of Jan 2007. At one stage l was spending 9-10hrs grinding away to get 3krep a day But it was worth it.! nothing felt soo good in this game as the day l got my mount and rode on it. Good luck to all who are trying get it. I hope what l learned will help you.
I'm the on on the right, my friend who helped me is on the left.

I'm just adding to what has been written previously about times for each quest.
I am a 70 hunter with decent gear and a riding crop (10% mount speed increase), so killing and riding is relatively fast for each quest. With that in mind, the times being measured are travel time and the "gathering time" for encountering and killing each set of mobs. I have timed quests from the when I left frostsaber rock to the time I returned to turn in the quests (this does not include emptying bags, getting more arrows, blah blah blah).
Results:
Frostsaber provisions: Avg time 19.2 minutes
Winterfall Intrusion: non-camped: 10.4 mins
camped: 22.3 mins
Rampaging Giants: Avg time 14 mins (best time 12 mins)
Giants and Intrusion: Avg time 22.5 (best 20 mins exactly, 17 mins using shortcut!)
I would not suggest doing the provisions quest at all past the initial questing stage, since it had a wide range of completion times depending on the meat drop rate. Sometimes this quest can take a half hour or more, and becomes quite frustrating!
The winterfall intrusion quest is best IF and ONLY IF the place is not camped. And by camped, I mean one or two people killing is enough to slow this quest way down to anywhere from 19 mins to 32 mins, since the camp usually has just enough mob population to do one quest. I usually like killing the Chief Winterfall while there if its not camped, since he always drops a winterfall firewater potion ($$$ and/or great AP buff). You also get Eko that gives a strength buff JuJu if you have your Cache of Mau'ari handy.
Rampaging giants was never camped, had good drops (tons of recipes, patterns, and greens), is a great source for AP JuJu, but was a long ride. The green magic items usually disenchant to Greater Eternal Essences and Illusion dust for you enchanters out there ($$$). The giants weren't that tough at lvl 70, but then again, I'm a the universally hated easy-mode hunter :) I usually start on the far south side, and there are usually enough to complete the quest. If there are not enough there, across the bridge and to the east and west are two more sets of two that usually fill the quest. And if worse comes to worse, down into the ravine...
IN ADDITION: SHORTCUT! If you have a light repair bill, after finishing giants, just jump in the ravine and kill yourself, then rez at Everlook... it saves 3 minutes. It will take you 6 minutes to turn in quests and get back to Winterfall village for the next round of kills, so if you are a 70, you can keep killing with the 75% damage reduction (or at least i could) and finish being rez sick by the time you killed 4/4 shamans and ursas. I have been doing both the WF intrusion and Giants naked and rezzing at Everlook. Looks funny but hey, it saves me 3 mins a run FFS!
What I find best is to have both the intrusion quest and the giants quest at the ready...do the giants, then do a pit stop at Winterfall Village to check on its farm status. If you see dead bodies in the front area, dont waste your time--just turn around and hand in the giants quest then go back for another round of giants. If you see the village to be untouched, do both the giants and the intrusion quests, which only takes 22.4 mins for both (or better, if you know the shortcuts). Also, if you do both quests, by the time you turn in both quests and return to WF village, it will be completely respawned (and usually with a chest there too!)
Save your beads, you will get the timbermaw trinket long before you get this mount :)
Good luck, and remember: since BC came out, ZG is on farm status by many noob guilds for the mounts. That makes the frostsaber mount probably the rarest in the game, since you have to grind for many hours to get it. People in this game just dont have that kind of patience, so when you see one of these mounts on your server, you know this guy is hardcore, tenacious, and partially insane! :) (Ive only seen one so far on my server, and ive seen people riding them in crossrealm AV only twice in 2 years play)
Good luck, and don't give up :) Why be like everybody else? And now that all this is said, plan your route, and never look at the clock or your rep again :) just go and do it...
P.S. got mine April 27, 4:30 am :) /sigh :)

I got this monster 2 days ago, after 13 days of grinding for it. That's right, 13 days. I got fired from a job (LOL) and decided to just go all-out nuts for it. I played at least 10 hours a day, every day. I'd just like to add some thoughts about my experience.
My method was to go from Rivern to the Winterfall camp, then to the giants in the south, then back to Rivern. In this way, I found it to be a lot less repetative; each trip took longer, but I was doing more than one quest at a time. Also, it was more satisfying to get chunks of 150 rep rather than just 75.
I went from level 62 to 66 during this grind. Considering I would get ~140 exp from the furbolgs (if any) and ~400 from the giants, that's absolutely insane, and a very good indicator of how much work this grind demands.
As a combat rogue with good BC gear for my level, I would average 6 seconds a kill for the furbolgs, and 20 seconds for the giants. I give mad props for people who play classes who take much longer to kill things (i.e. paladins) and got this mount. I must have played about 130 hours at least, but the thought of taking 4 or 5 times longer per kill is just staggering. Hats off to you. (While we're on the topic, I give mad props for people who did this back in the day, where the mount itself cost 900, epic mounts were 900, the rep reward per turn-in was 50 instead of 75, and pre-BC where you were limited to level 60 and raid gear which pales in comparison to that which is obtainable now. That was truly a grind, whereas now it has become much more of a cakewalk, not to trivialise it too far.)
A couple tips:
-BUY AN EPIC MOUNT BEFORE YOU START THIS BEAST! Since I literally murdered these creatures (not even stealthing, it would slow me down), the heart of the grind was in the runs to and from Rivern. Looking back, I'd blow my brains out if I had to do this with a non-epic mount.
-Princess Tempestria is a level 60 elite that is on a 2 day timer or so. Don't hesitate to stop and kill it for loots. You will be informed of its arrival by a yell similar to Azuregos, and also be able to look at Lake Kel'theril for a bunch of water elementals. If they are there, it is most likely also there. Get a pal to do it if you aren't capable, it is a fairly difficult solo kill. I was able to do it at 65 armed with a couple greater frost protection potions.
-As far as phat loot goes, I wound up with a Krol Blade, some blue plate gloves, blue plate shoes, and blue cloth shoes, along with 3 or 4 random Darkmoon Faire cards. Greater Frost Prtotection Potion recipies drop like mad from the giants, and I somehow managed to sell at least 15 of them for around 6g each. I honestly don't know how the hell they all sold. In total, I probably made ~1400g, very helpful, since I would probably never get enough for a flying mount otherwise, since I am terrible with gold spending, lol.
In any case, this mount is fantastic, and its a constant, awesome looking reminder the effort put into getting it. Truly a great reward.

I grinded the remaining bit of rep up after the patch since I didn't want the work I put in before to go to waste. Finally, two days ago I got it! I was really excited. Despite the fact I know I didn't work as hard as the others, I'm still excited about the saber. It's definitely probably my favorite saber mount in the game. :D I also made decent money from the final bit. Two purples, and dropped within 12 hours of each other and I also got x2.
Truthfully, I don't think I want to touch Winterspring again. x_x However, it was quite easy as a 70 Feral Druid in Kara gear.
Well, here's my picture. :D

You know, this cat is still rare. Most people don't know about it at all. I found out by accident, and decided to go for it before the new patch, because I don't care for the armored look. I decided I wanted this cat because its the only swift one that hasn't the weird armor. I joined WoW in Sept. because I am totally utterly bored with Guild Wars, and wanted to try this out. I am on Terenas and I have seen a whopping grand total of 1 of these on my server. When I was out grinding rep for the Wintersaber, I saw one other person, a gnome. I did see other people who started the rep quest but you know what, most of those gave up after about 6 or 7 meat turn ins. The drop rate is crappy, there are tons of other players doing Timbermaw rep quests and the giants are far away and difficult for a lvl 58-60 to solo. I do the furbolgs primarily and sometimes have to wait for the shamans to respawn, because there are alliance and horde everywhere killing them all. so its still not easy. Factor in real life - REAL everyday stuff and it makes it even harder.
Overall, I think it is still difficult. To those that did it at the grueling 50-75 rep, I commend you. But it isn't fair to punish others for aspiring to something as well. I am grinding at 250 a turn in, not because that was my goal, but I wanted this cat before the patch. I intended to grind 42,000 rep the slow way, but I didn't get to 58 till after the patch, so I have to take what I am given. I play this game for fun and for my amusement, because if it wasn't fun, why would I bother? And you know, I bet sitting in IF I will still get whispers asking where I got it. And, most casual gamers if told where to get them will nod and say "Wow. That must have been hard." and then mount back up on their swift PvP or swift normal mount.

Wow, finally got this mount a few minutes ago.
I started at level 58, as a decently-geared feral druid. When I finally got the Wintersaber, I was almost level 63. It was pretty difficult to kill things efficiently until level 60, when I bought a temporary epic mount.
Once I hit level 60, the thing that slowed me down the most was the level 70's that would quest for this mount and 1-shot all of the mobs I needed. I would get ganked once or twice a day, but the horde players left me alone for the most part.
The second quest, Winterfall Intrusion, is by far the easiest quest to complete when you're in your low 60's like I was. The mobs are very easy to kill, but there is a lot of competition from level 70's doing the same quest, as well as level 50's from both horde and alliance who are doing the regular Winterspring quest for these guys. It's easiest to do this quest late at night if you're on a high population and/or PvP server.
There are four chest spawn locations, and four rich thorium veins within the village. There is a rare spawn called Grizzle Snowpaw, who I was able to kill 5 different times when I played later at night.
All in all it wasn't hard, it just took a long time. If you do this quest below level 70, at least try to get an epic mount first. It makes a big difference. If you're level 70, then getting the Winterspring Frostsaber should be ridiculously easy for you.

So here's the deal. I just spent the last week grinding this mount and here is the current summary (patch 2.3, akama realm, as a 66-67 feral druid):
You need to complete 6
Wintersaber provisions
quests to get to 1500 rep. These suck as they take the longest of the three because you are waiting for a crappy drop rate. Most people abandon during this phase, which is the most annoying but shortest portion.
After this you are able to start doing the
Winterfall intrusions
quest. You solely do this quest till you get to honored. While doing this it helps to group with all the 50s that are in the village, because a) you kill them faster, and b) they don't remove precious shamans from the village. As you can guess the shamans are the hardest ones to get, their respawn potential is slightly less than the ursas and den watchers. Occasionally you will find one wandering outside the village. This is good. Just inside the entrance you will see winterfall in a semi-circle around the camp. Most of these will be den watchers. As you kill them you will notice that there is a slight chance they will respawn as shamans, but mostly not.
Past the camp through the back door (snicker) you will come across a path that splits in three directions. To the left will be two winterfall (either ursa, shaman, or both). To the immediate right (actually almost right in front of you) will be two more of the same. I think that the ursas spawn more frequently, but it may be the same rate. It's not that different. The path then goes forward, with one shaman or ursa on the way to the cave with high chief winterfall and a shaman (always), or to the right and back along the wall. There you will find two more shamans, ursas, or both.
Occasionally you will get enough at this point to be finished. If you still need ursas, go up on the hill between the village and everlook and there will be certainly at least 5. This is why the shamans are in such demand in the village; there are always enough ursas. This is also why I started with the ursas in the village, to chance a respawn as a shaman for the next round. Up on the hill is a wandering winterfall that is either a den watcher or a shaman. I think really rarely I saw two shamans up there but don't quote me on that.
In two places in the camp, and in two places along the path behind the camp a chest will spawn pretty much every time. I suggest you grab it. Most people miss them. I got some decent greens that I didn't need and had DEd.
In winterfall is the rare spawn grizzle snowpaw. He always dropped a green for me. An easy kill.
So in summary so far: 1500 honor doing the meat quest at 250 a pop (6). Then 1500 + 6000 = 7500 to get to honored doing the winterfall quest at 250 also (30).
Once you reach honored you get the
Rampaging giants
quest. Here is where I chose a slightly different strategy from previous people. I would start in the village, if there weren't enough shamans I would head to frostwhisper gorge and kill the giants, return to winterfall to finish it up on the way back. I figured this way that if there were people in the village you wouldn't interfere too much, and also usually never have to wait for respawns.
I would cross the bridge over frostwhisper gorge and then head immediately left. There you will find exactly 6 giants mixed of the two types that you need. Most often it was 3 to 3 or 4 to 2, but occasionally I got screwed. If so head across the path (still on the south side of the bridge) to get the rest. Occasionally this fails and you have to cross back to the north side of the bridge and check the east then west side for the type you are missing. Usually the preservers were the ones that were lacing. Worst case you have to travel down into the gorge and get them in there. Since I can stealth and my agro range was small I could get the ones I needed without needing to kill all the ones before it.
Again on the way back I would finish the winterfall village if I hadn't already. Occasionally you will accidentally forget to grab the quests again after you turn them in. This sucks, as I did it about 6 times. By trying the winterfall quest first you quickly learn if you made this simple, stupid mistake. Frustrating as it is run back and get them.
So to get from honored to revered I did this loop which netted 600 honor a run (250 from the winterfall, 350 from the giants). So to get to revered took 20 loops. Congratulations you are now exactly halfway, after 76 quest turn-ins.
Rinse and repeat. Ideally to get the 21000 rep from revered to exalted one would just do that loop 35 more times (70 quests). I mixed it up slightly because I had a friend that wanted timbermaw rep so I did the village a few times towards the end without the giants. I ended with one more meat quests to remind me where this all started from.
Only once did I see anyone trying this when I was and it was only the meat quest. I never saw anyone during the winterfall or giant quest doing the same thing. Plenty of people in winterfall village though.
One thing to note is that I also saw a rare spawn giant a few times done in the gorge up on a ramp. I forget it's name. An easy kill and always drops a green, the 3 times I killed it.
So in summary: A kick ass almost unique mount (only seen one other person with this on Akama, probably more); a few hundred gold; A ton of random greens; No blues or purples that others have claimed (I'm filled with sadness about this); about 12 greater frost potection potion recipes (I hope they sell); frostsaber tunic and legging patterns; a greater stoneshield potion recipe; and some other random stuff I cant remember. Not bad for 146 quests and about 30 hours. I overheard someone say that this only took them 6 hours. I did this with an epic and carrot. It take about 4-5 minutes round trip to get from winterfall to frostsaber rock and back. You do the math, I call bull^&*!.
I've spent about 20 minutes doing odds and ends on my new mount, it really does kick ass, then I signed off and wrote this article. Kudos to any and all that did this before they upped the rep yield. I have a life, sorta, and spending 30 hours doing this was grueling enough, and would have been impossible for me at the 75 rep stage. Either way, it's an easy, though long and monotonous grind.
Information not pertaining to the actual quest but happened during it:
Akama is a pvp server and I generally found myself about 8-10 lvls higher than all the horde I encountered. I pretty much left them alone, or even helped them to get them out of my way quicker. I did not want to attract attention because I was going to be around there for a long time. Rarely did I gank anyone, and if you're reading this I actually do feel bad about it.
I ran into a horde 70 mage (Magistical from the guild Creamy Nuggets) escorting a 55 warrior and priest from that same guild through the village. Well that 70 decided to gank me and a few random low 50 alliance that were there. I rez'd, came back and sought vengeance. I got him to about half before I was killed (I was 66 mind you). He killed me after I rez'd again, so I developed a new strategy. I decided to ignore him and go after the two 50s that were his charge. I mean, if this horde decide to gank me unprovoked I felt justified. If his charges had been there alone I would not have attacked them. Well I rez'd again and went after the priest first. I basically killed him before the 70 realized what was going on. I then barely killed the warrior before I was killed. But my task was done, and I was quite satisfied. I mean, the only reason for his presence was so that his charges would be safe. If your name is Magistical and you are on Akama, and you are a 70 mage, and in or were in the guild Creamy Nuggets, then let me say ALLIANCE FTW!

Where to get it:
Frostsaber Rock, all the way in the north of winterspring from Rivern Frostwind . (On top of the big rock jutting out.) Once Exalted, you can purchase the mount for 80 gold.
FIRST:
Quest:
Frostaber Provisions
Amount: 6 times.
Notes:
This quest drop rate isn't the funnest for a grinding quest, but it isn't too horrible. Just think, once you finish this part you never really have to do it again! (Unless you are a skinner and enjoy skinnings from these.. but note your bags fill up faster picking up those dang bear jaws and whatnot >.<!)
SECOND:
Quest:
Winterfall Intrusion
Amount: 162 times.
Notes: This is the quest we grinded on the most. Reason is: It is not a drop rate quest, it is just a kill quest. The location of the mob is at . It will be a small little village, and they will typically be in the rear area of the village as well as on the ridge directly south of there.
BONUS!
Quest:
Beads for Salfa
Notes: If you have completed the
Winterfall Activity
quest (given by Salfa at 27,34), then
Winterfall Spirit Beads
will drop along with your kills.
Warning!: I would wait until -after- you finish with your Wintersaber Trainer Rep or until -after- you are honored to turn in the beads. (You don't have to, but it's advice I wish I had when I started..) This is so you still get as much experience from killing the mobs as possible.
Why would I do this too?:
With enough experience, you can buy things from Meilosh.
to see all the many things you can get, not including eventually getting the quest for
Defender of the Timbermaw
.
Tip!
Make sure you have all quests accepted at all times. You never know when you will be killing the giants. Also, if you get dazed to or from the furbolgs, there might be a possibility a meat might drop! If this happens enough it's like a bonus quest turn in :P
We started out at level 62, the two of us. We made twins in game and figured we wanted matching mounts as well.. and this was our goal. We could never be happier with our griding. We plan on getting this mount again for our second set of twins as well.
Please note that this is a mount that has 100% speed increase, however you only need 75 riding for it! So if you don't have the gold for the upgrade in riding, you don't have to worry until later (but beware.. it will bite you in the butt later as you will have to spend -more- because to get the 225 riding, you need the 150 first >.<!). We personally both had epic mounts as to make the commute between the quest giver and the quest area faster, thus less time spent on grinding.
there is also a giant quest that comes at some point (
Rampaging Giants
), but the quest is so far south we only did it when all of the mobs were either being killed by others for the quests from Everlook and whatnot or when we needed a break from the furbolgs. They took longer to kill, were spread out more and are also elite.
Finally, I would also like to note that this amount is not relevant for the human race in the game. Their reputation gain is increased so the mount you need to do each quest will be even less! *sigh*

A lot of good stuff in the previous posts. I wanted to add a few more things.
I only do Winterfall Intrusion as I am a frost mage, and the rampaging giants is a headache even at lvl 70. The meat takes too long to drop and became very boring, very quickly in the provisions quest.
Upon entering the village I usually kill any den watchers (along with shamans) because they may spawn into shamans. The only time I leave them is if other players are doing the winterfall activity quest and need den watchers.
Despite some whispers of 'noob 70 go and quest in outland not farm here', I try to help as many lower level players as I can, even horde. The quicker they are done, the quicker I can get on. And again, i don't gank.
If you are a miner, the thorium is very lucrative. On Hakkar a 20 stack gets 40-50g and usually i will get three+ 20 stacks per night. I typically get to play for an 60-90mins. Also in the thorium you get arcane crystals, star rubies, azerothian diamonds, huge emeralds and blue sapphires, oh and dense stone. All is auctionable at a good price. For 60-90mins of grinding I make 100-200 gold per night. This isn't counting green drops and runecloth etc.
As level 70 I can be creative with the route to Rivern to maximise the chance of hitting a mining node. And if winterfall is plagued by players- the yeti cave on the other side of the ridge always has some thorium in it too.
A riding crop or equivalent is a good idea as the travelling is boring. I had my HS set to everlook, and would use it after my first quest hand-in on top of the rock, and keep doing that when the CD had finished. it may have only save me 2.5 mins, but believe me, it was worth it!
As well as Grizzle Snowpaw, i have also managed to get Rak'shiri a few times too. Nice green drops or lovely hunter pet.
After all this time (I've got 3k left to go) I have just discovered that I can put the Wintersaber faction rep bar on my interface!
Good Luck!

I got so sick of seeing DK mounts everywhere, I thought I'd finally get round to grinding this mount for my DK, which I'd been admiring and considering gettng for my main for some time (my main is nearly at getting a different land mount - seems a shame to grind this now as I'd not see it).
Level 63 DK who is, luckily, a human. I know people have been whining about the rep and level increase making this too easy (and they're right, it does seem unsatisfactorily easy compared to before) - but everyone on my server have been grinding new TBC and WOTLK mounts leaving only a few people with this forgotten beauty.
From my excperience, you shouldn't pick either Winterfall or Provisions, but pick up both. Head directly east of Frostsaber rock and grind the chimearas/bears there until you have 5 meat (5 being the total number of a combination of both, ie 5 bear, 5 chimeara, or 3 bear and 2 chimaera, whatever), slowly making your way southast.
Once you reach Winterfall, grind the Ursas and Shaman. Both Den and Ursas respawn as Shamans so there's usually alot. If there's alot of competition, don't wait around but repeat Provisions until there's room. They have a slow spawn rate so don't hang around waiting with 8 other people to tag one.
Head northwest and pick up the remaining meats on your way back (I do it in two halves like this so the grind for them seems shorter and therefore more bearable). Voila, 500 rep when you return and it should take no longer than 15 mins unless you're with high competition.
EDIT: Things to keep you motivated section:
If you're like me, you hate rep grinds. I can't stick at them, even if I really want to reward. It was bad enough trying to get Kurenai with my main, and Kurenai's certainly not the hardest rep grind... Here are some thing's I do to make it more bearable and keep me motivated!
+ Look at the Wintersaber next to Rivern and remember that soon that will be YOURS. Remember how envious people will be of your beautiful mount while they're on their default racial or a black/red PvP mount (nothing wrong with them, they're just common).
+ Use the "Show as Toolbar" option. This works differently for different people. Me, I don't notice a difference unless I'm looking directly at the toolbar when I turn in the quest. As I see it move up it makes me smile. Some people don't like this and think it reminds them how little they're getting per rep turn in. If you're one of these, TURN IT OFF and don't look until you're done with your grinding session.
+ Set your self a manageable target. Don't say "I'm going to get to AT LEAST half way Honored" if you're just starting out at 0/3000 Neutral. This will make it long and boring and you're more likely to give up. Also, if you don't reach your target (likely unless you have a looooong time), you'll be disappointed. With a manageable target, you'll pretty much always achieve it and feel proud, and if you exceed it - even better! Set yourself a target of 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 or 3000 rep per day depending on how much time you have for WoW. I have plenty of time so I say 3000 rep per day. I boost this to 3500 rep on weekends.
+ Work out how much rep you have left in numbers. Neutral-Friendly is 3000 rep, Friendly-Honored is 6000 rep, Honored-Revered is 12000 rep, Revered to Exalted is 21000 rep. In total, 42000 rep. Do 42000 take away >rep you have since 0 Neutral<, then divide the answer by 250 and that's how many quests you'll have to do. Or, divide the answer by >rep you want to get per day< to see how many days it'll take you. I worked out it'll take me 12 more days if I get 3000 rep per day and I am happy with that date.
+Look at Thottbot after you've done your quest and read pictures or comments. I do this, and seeing how happy people who got theirs are motivated me. Don't read the grey comments and these are likely noob comments about people too lazy to earn something, and may put you down and delude you into thinking the mount you want isn't worth the input. IT IS.

I see a lot of old posts about these guys so Im going to give it an update. This will not be easy. But in the end it will be worth it. You almost have to be crazy to do this in one day. But it can be done.
Location 49.9 9.9 on top of the rock.
Total reputation needed42,000
Total Gold 80g
Requires level 60
Requires Riding (75)
Total Time 17 hrs. Thats how long it took me nonstop.
Total quests allowed 3
Total reputation 850
As you start your questing, you will only be able to do 1 quest till your halfway into natural. Then you are able to do 2. Your next break will happen at honored. At this point you will be able to do 3 quests. First 2 are worth 250rep each and the 3rd is worth 350 for a total of 850 each turn in.
How I did this.
If you dont have quest helper get it. It will help give you a path to follow.
Frostaber Provisions
Shardtooth Meat x5
Chillwind Meat x5
Winterfall Intrusion
Winterfall Shaman x5
Winterfall Ursa x5
Tip-If you cant get them all in one shot, start on (Rampaging Giants). As your coming back the ones you missed the first time should have respawn.
Rampaging Giants
Frostmaul Giants x4
Frostmaul Preservers x4
Tip-If you run out of the ones you need to kill, there are more across the bridge along the edge at 60 73.
I also wanted to add that for those of you who gave me a negative for whatever reason, I didnt have to list any of this or even give you a time frame it would take to get this mount. None of the other post about this mount even list time, only days. The other people that posted about this mount never had to but did to help those that didnt know anything, so think about that before you give them a negative feedback.
Best of luck to those who take on this journey.

First I have to say: I am thankful I didn't do this quest three years ago when it was harder, I am not worthy and bow down to all of you who did it then.
There are a LOT of good posts, you should take the time to read thru them. I'm just going to add my personal experiences and thoughts.
Just finished this grind today, July 15th, 2009. I'm on a Normal PvE Server. Current patch 3.1.3. Patch 3.2 due any day now.... so how long this info will be relevant, I've no idea as the mount levels are changing with this upcoming patch.
I am a Hunter. I started this grind at level 61, I'm now at 64. I did some other Winterspring quests along the way to break the monotony.
Things you might find helpful:
- It doesn't get easier. It just gets repetitive - be prepared for that. If you're at the level of the area, do some of the area quests available.
- Bring a skinner, or take it up. There are a LOT of skins to be had. Plus if you can skin your Provision kills they'll respawn faster for others.
- Be wary of the Rabid Shardtooths (in the south by the gorge) - they do drop Provisions, but they also cast RABIES -a spell that lasts 10 minutes. I never got it, but my pet did. I began avoiding them.
- The Giants aren't as as hard as I thought they'd be. Pull one at a time and you should be fine. I would start at the SW rim and wipe that usually getting as many as 3/4 of each I needed. Then the SE rim would provide me with the other two - if not, the North rim would. I only had to go down to the gorge once, having arrived just after another player had wiped out the entire North & South rims. Be aware - there is usually one Frostmaul (Giant or Preserver) that will walk the entire SW rim on each spawned group. If you're not careful, it can easily come into aggro range of the one you're already fighting. (There is another one that walks the length of the gorge.)
- Once Honored, having three quests does help. I began my cycle with the Giants, then Winterfall Village which I'd hit from the mountain to it's south. There are at least 3 Ursas up there, sometimes more. Sometimes a Shaman. Very often a Den Watcher or two (which adds bonus for Timbermaw rep, and they also drop the beads.) Then I would go down from there and hit the upper level of the village, being careful to only kill what I needed as I knew there were many others in the area doing the same quests. No need to be greedy. I rarely needed the lower level of the village. And I ALWAYS looted everything so the spawns would be faster for all. After Winterfall I'd get almost all Provisions in the NW area nearest to the village. Sometimes I'd leave the village if some higher level had done a recent fast wipe, or it was too crowded, and get Provisions done, then go back - no need to stand around waiting for respawns of non-looted corpses.
- Sometimes there is a small trunk in the village. It's small, and I'm unobservant. I didn't notice it until sometime after turning Revered. I found it in the upper level sides of the village, and at the east end of the first furblog log house on your left when you enter the village thru the main gate. A lot of times it had Truesilver in it.
Observations
- It felt at times as though everyone else in Winterspring was also doing this quest. I'm sure they weren't but it sure seemed like it.
- I now really HATE those Winterspring Owls.
- It also felt as though I'd been doing this quest for the greater part of my life at times. I forgot what the rest of WoW looked like. (I only play for an hour or two a day. I didn't have the luxury of doing this in 17 hours straight. I wish I did. My plan is to win the lotto - how awesome would it be to call in RICH to your job? Of course, I'd have to go chase the Tour de France, THEN overdose on playing WoW, wait, then build a house that I can play WoW in.. no, travel to.... )
- I was there so long I tamed Rak'Shiri, as well as all the other cats except for the cubs (how cool would it be to have a matched pair?) Now I have a mini version of the Wintersaber mount. Shame the Chimaeras are not trainable. Imagine dragging one of those babies thru town (hey! could you find a bigger, more annoying pet please?)
- The few times I flew back to Darnassus and the AH, I began to see these mounts everywhere, and thought, wtf? Why am I doing this? But by then I was Revered, and too far in to abandon quest. I also began to think,
is having this mount a sign of perseverance, or just a pathetic WoW addiction
? (oh yes! I am the POSTER CHILD for Denial.)
- Shame the mini mechanical yeti you get from the quest only has three 10-min charges. It's so awesome as your "Guardian."
- I tried very hard to do these quests at early server times, when there would be less traffic. I never had competition doing the Giants, but lots doing the Winterfall Furblogs. If there were too many others I'd go get the Provisions, while I waited for the Winterfall Village to respawn and clear of other players. I have to say it wasn't too bad when 60-ish level players were also doing the quest, but there were a LOT of level 80s who would come thru and wipe the entire village, taking more kills than they needed. That got a bit annoying. I tried to be as thoughtful of others on this insane grind. I knew their pain - many didn't finish.
- I can't believe I still need 125 damn beads for frakkin SALFA to become Exalted with Timbermaw! You're kidding, right? I can't leave this snowy hell yet? Damn - maybe I should have been more greedy.......

Ok ive been reading some of these and they are all from a long time ago so i will tell the updated version.
You will first begin with one quest, Do that quest over about 6 times then you will be at 1500 rep in neutral. Once you are at that point there will be a second quest. The Second quest will be alot more easier but i recommend that you do both the quests. Once your Honored there will be a 3rd quest now available. You will have to kill 8 elite frost giants. Then you will have three quests to do for the Winterspring Trainer. complete them over and over again untill your exalted.
Quest 1 and 2 give you 250 rep each. Quest 3 gives you 350 rep. All together you will have to complete around 168 quests to get Exalted.
At Exalted you will be able to purchase the Winterspring frostsaber from the trainer for 90g
Good Luck Grinding :D

So, finally got mine yesterday, technically today at 4:03 AM.
Upon hearing rumors that with Cataclysm the winterspring frostsaber might get the boot, I hurried towards winterspring with only one thing in mind: getting it in the shortest time possible.
Looking back, now that I have it, I'm truly glad I did this in 5 days, however whilst grinding day in day out, it drove me to the point of madness and self loathing. And even when I got mine yesterday I was happy for 10 sec before slamming the laptop shut and diving into bed exhausted from fatigue.
But I had moral support from my bf who would occasionally prance around on his newly acquired winterspring frostsaber and thus motivate me and yesterday sat beside me and rubbed my back when I wanted to go to bed thee rounds before becoming exalted and do it in the morning.
So here's how I did it:
I started off as neutral, halfway towards friendly since I did the quest a couple of times a few months ago but had other priorities. The trick is to calculate how many rounds you need to do and then to divide them over the amount of days you wish to spend grinding to get it.
Since bringing the meat and killing the winterfall gives 250 xp each, you get 500 xp per round. If you choose to add the giants quest (need to be honored) which gives 350 xp on top, you get 850 per round. However, my advice is to do only 2 or 3 giants quests per day since it will take you more time to complete a round with giants then to complete two rounds with only meat and winterfalls.
So here is how I divided my rounds:
Day 1 (18-04-2010)
6 rounds of both slaughtering winterfalls and getting the meat.
Day 2 (19-04-2010)
15 rounds including two rounds of killing frost giants, which is a pain since you have to walk so bloody far to get them.
Day 3 (20-04-2010)
Another 15 rounds including 2 or 3 with the giants.
Day 4 (21-04-2010)
20 rounds of constant carnage and 3 rounds of giants.
Day 5 (22-4-2010)
18 rounds including 5 with the giants.
Prob is I can't really remember how often I did the giants quest to the calculations may vary but I've been writing the dates and the number of rounds on a piece of paper to keep track of it.
Now unless you have all the time, have no other obligations and don't mind hating yourself for a couple of days and getting gag reflexes every time you log on the unfortunate character that is entitled with this task, then by all means you can get the saber in 5 days. However this guide will not be held accountable for possible side effects that may occur whilst following it.
Some side effects may include: headache, irritability, a raw hatred towards your own faction members upon sight in the winterfall camp, insomnia, increased blood pressure, uncontrolled drooling, nightmares, aversion towards certain colors and loved ones and most of all a great hatred towards yourself for not stretching this over a couple of weeks or even a months time. However if you're ok with this, be prepared to ride into the sunset on your gorgeous winterspring frostsaber^^

"I am lvl xxx, I was doing this for so long, my pattern is bla bla, Oh my God, Blizzard made it so easy" ... is fun to read 5 years worth of postings. Some of the guys who posted at the beggining might have 5 years old kids, ready to play "That game with white tigers" in a few years ... is just fun!
However, being myself well in my 70s (lvl, not age, God forbid) and 1/3 to the last push (read exalted), cannot help myself to CONGRATULATE all of those who even dared to think of starting it. Even with those 250/350 reputation per turn. Especialy if, as we heard, we will be using flying birds all over the place. Those guys should be awarded one month of free playing by Blizzard, since they paid at least 3 months only to get a beautiful cat! And retrospectiv.
Guys, to all of you, hands off, that was one of the most insaine, beautiful, time consuming, mind blowing, nightmare inflicting (how many times did you go to sleep, in a middle of that hot summer night, seeing snow and bears all around you) ... <deep breath> ... quest there is!
I am a dwarf paladin on Sylvanas, EU, name is Ermetik. I am questing for it. But, after I'll get it, if I happen to see a lonely level 80(85 ... 120, God knows when Blizzard will stop!)in Winterspring, killing bears an generally acting lost and a bit crazy, I will stop and bow. And I'll mean it.

After years of the horde not having an equivalent I can say for sure the Alliance got completely screwed on this mount.
The horde now has to only do 23 quests (3 actual quests, the third quest consists of 20 daily quests and a few extra gathered item to complete) to get their mount:
(1) Toxic Tolerance
- Head about 30 seconds north of Mor'vek and look for Venomhide Ravasaur. Unequip your weapon and punch them in the face until they place a "poison" debuff on you 20 times. (May take a while. Actually killing them will make this slower.) Turn in the quest at Mor'vek.
(2) Venomhide Eggs
- Look anywhere in the area just north and east of Mor'vek for small black nests out in the open grass. Each nest should have one egg. Loot 4 of these eggs. Turn in the quest at Mor'vek.
(3) They Grow Up So Fast
- Accept this quest to get Venomhide Hatchling, which summons a small pet that give you a daily for 20 days (like the orphan quests).
(3a) <<Venomhide Hatchling>>
- Do the daily offered from this Hatchling for 20 days to get 20 Venomhide Baby Tooth. Buy 20 runecloth, 20 rugger leather off the AH, and then turn in the quest at Mor'vek.
\\\\\
There is no reputation that has to be grinded to exhaulted. Just do the dailies for 20 days and the raptor mount is yours.
For years the horde has been QQing about not having an equivalent. Now the alliance can QQ for having to seriously grind for their mount.

I made a post back in June of 2008. There were some flaws and typos. As I am going for the frostsaber mount on my Paladin, I thought I would clear up my previous post.
First off, the previous post was on my hunter, Shadowond on Nathrezim.
Rep Needed: Exhalted
These are the quests and rep gains:
Fostsaber Provisions (Rep = 250) 0-1500
Winterfall Intrusion (Rep = 250) 1500-3000 (Friendly) 3000-12000 (Revered)
Rampaging Giants (Rep = 350) 12000-21000
The mount still costs 80g and can only be used by Alliance.
I apologize for the mis-spelling and any other errors in my previos post. I hope that the info helps.

Requirements needed for this are:
Night Elf players: Honored with Darnassus
Other Factions: Exaulted
All Factions: Exaulted with Wintersaber Trainers
Cost: 800g or 900g depending on your rank
This works great if you have two accounts, also if you have a group. It sucks because neither or those really help much on the days you don't get credit for the kills while up on the rock, on the days you do get credit, it rocks and you fly through the rep.
Happy Farming

I have a few questions about this God-like mount:
1. Can Horde ride it?
2. Do you really need all that friggin' rep?
3. If so, how long does it take to get the friggin' rep?
4. Do Night Elves get a discount, like 10% off your next purchase?
5. I'm a Night Elf who believes in equality, and the Horde aren't equal to us (mainly cause Tauren can destroy a simple druid easily and they are intimidating).
And now I have a few fun facts:
1. This mount is actually a bit bigger then the normal mounts.
2. Horde suck.
3. This mount blends in PERFECTLY with your surroundings.
4. Horde suck.
5. Does anyone know where I can get clothing made of cloth/leather to that's white?
6. Horde suck.
7. This mount is really meant for the snow.
Oh, and did I forget to mention that Horde suck?
P.S.: This may sound rediculously childish/noobish, but me and a few other guys run this guild that help to keep Horde pests out of Alliance skies/waters/land. Our snow patrol (Guys that keep Horde outta Dwarf areas) use a lot of these. We have 8 guys on mounts (4 on these, 1 on epic frostsaber, and 3 on spotted frostsaber). They are very usefull for picking off the obvious Horde who run in wearing bright colors.

So i know a bunch of stuff changed with the last couple of patches, is it still 900 g to buy it after you get your rep up? Doesn't seem to make much sense when a regular epic with the training is less then that, does it? I've heard it's 900g, 90g, 150g, blah blah blah, does anybody know how much it costs now and not like 2 years ago?

I am a lvl 70 Nightelf MM Hunter on Nathrezim.
It took me 41 1/2 hours of solo grinding to get this mount. Got it at 6:13 P.M. 2 June 2008.
Here is how I got it. Found it easier:
You get the quests and mount from River Frostwind. He is in northern Winterspring on top of Frostsaber Rock.
There are three quests:
Fostsaber Provisions (Rep = 250) 0-1500 rep
Winterfall Intrusion (Rep = 250) 1500-21000
Rampaging Giants (Rep = 350) 12000-21000
Do Frostsaber Provisions til you get 1500 rep. Pick up the second quest. Do both til you hit Revered. Once there, just do Winterfall Intrusion and Rampaging Giants until you are Exhalted. Doing only two is faster than all three because you aren't waiting on the drops of meat.
For the LW and/or skinners, I got 800+ Rugged Leather from doing Frostsaber Provisions. For the money-grinders: The giants drop and average of 15-24 silver. Also all the gray items are worth some coin too. (I made 90g in just grinding and selling gray items). Pick up what you can, but don't make constant trips to Everlook. Just drop what you don't need for the quest.
The price of the mount: 80g
Mount speed: 100%
There is no special riding skill (racial or lvl)
You do not need to be honored with Darnassus.
Those who can use the mount: Human, Nightelf, Dwarf, Gnome, Draenai
Horde cannot use this mount.
All that said, I must say I like this mount. And a note to all you who "farmed for months": Either you didn't do it consecutively.....or you're very slow. For those who intend to get the mount: Bring a friend. It would be faster.

Here are some pointers for those that are thinking of taking on this quest, which is quoted on WoWhead as "the longest grind in the game". I just recently started and after some experience with this quest thus far, and doing a LOT of research to figure out if I wanted to get this started, this is what I've found..
-Make sure you really want this mount. Not for others, but for yourself. It won't be worth it just for bragging rights. This takes real work, real time, and you will want to quit halfway through if you don't REALLY want this!
-There is a reason why this mount is only 80G..Yeah great deal right? Well, just put this into perspective. By the time you are finished and buy this saber, you will have TONS of gold acquired from selling grays, greens, other odds and ends, if you're a skinner "yay" because you will get a TON of skin..So with all of that gold you could have bought your riding skill training for your typical epic, and the mount, and more (think a few nice pieces of gear). Still want it? Don't do this because you think it's a deal. It's a lot of work. It's easy to make money and get a regular mount. But this one is rare and special :)
-It will take approx. 42 hrs. in game time to acquire this mount (since patch 2.3.3), a few less if you are human because of rep bonus and a few less for Shammy's because of Astral Recall (saves lot's of time). This may not seem like much, but after 4 hours of playing you still have about 38 to go..I for one can't usually play for more than 4 hours or so because I have a job, work out, like to read, have a social life and a boyfriend..So break it up into sessions so you don't hole yourself up into a cave and go nuts! Even if you can play WoW all day long..Do some Outlands quests or other things in between (trust me, you'll want to).
-Re-spec for highest DPS possible if you aren't already..If you like your spec now, write it down and re-spec again later. It will be worth your time to save so much more grinding time! Remember: the sooner you get this done, the faster you get your Frostsaber!
-You will be turning in 250 rep per turn in all the way up until you get the third and last repeatable quest. This quest requires you to kill the giants, and it's the furthest from the trainer. Because of this you get 350 rep per turn in.
-The best/fastest/most efficient way to do this is (from what I've read and learned):
After you get halfway through neutral, you will be able to pick up the Winterfall Furlbog quest. Take that one and Frostsaber Provisions at the same time, then set your hearth to Everlook. If you're a shaman (like me) you get a bonus and will get done faster because of your Astral Recall ability. Go to Winterfall Villiage next to Everlook, kill 5 Shamans and 5 Ursa, then on your way to turn in, get your 5 bear and 5 chill meats. Once you make it grinding through all of that quite a few times, the next quest that becomes available is the Giants quest(I'm not there yet!). Take The Winterfall Furlbog quest and Giants quests simultaneously. Hearth to Everlook, do your furlbogs, the giants then hearth back and turn in..Repeat repeat..
-At revered you are only HALFWAY there..Hang in there! Once you get to this point, it would be silly to turn back.
-DON'T start this quest if you aren't sure it's worth it. There's no point in wasting so much time if grinding frustrates you, you don't like repetition, and you need instant gratification!
-You don't need to worry about Darnassus rep..That was fixed in the last patch. All you have to worry about is becoming exalted with the Wintersaber Trainers no matter what your class.
-Read someprotienguy's tips below me, he's got some good one's.
I hope my lil pointers helped :) That's the best I can do since I'm not done yet. If you set your mind to it, you can do it so don't give up! I'll post a screen shot once I'm done.
I can't wait! Yayyy Frostsaber >^..^< RAWR!

Well I'm a NE rogue on arthas and im exactly 59 quest turn ins from exalted. I've been doing it grouped with a full group of other NE's and a gnome. 1st of all the mount is 900g considering your exalted faction with them by the time you get exalted. Secondly, with Sergeant rank from PVP-ing, that 900g mount price drops to 800g, so it's definitly worth PVP-ing for that bonus. Since, I'm on a pvp server...i just killed the horde that got in my way occasionally and that worked out beautifully. As for humans, dwarves, and gnomes. Getting it now is not as impressive as getting it before the most recent patch...but just because you can get tiger riding now doesnt mean it's any easier to get. Just the rep grinding alone is enough to drive you crazy. Definitly faster and more entertaining doing it grouped. I should have my walking epic mount later this week...i can't wait...i'll be the 1st in my guild to get it and 4th on the server to get it.

I usually roll Horde, but did up a Ally DK for the fun of it. After completing the DK starting quests, I went to WinterSpring and decided to do the grind to get this. I did some of the starting quests in WS for exp and leveling, and some of the background quests that sent me into the areas to kill various things, like the quest chain for the winterfall firbolgs. Went all the way to level 64 on basically just the grinding and turn ins, with some previous work done in the area. The quests are still green at level 64, so still getting some exp for the kills on many of them.
I probably averaged, 1 complete circuit a day, sometimes two, for 2 months. Set hearthstone to Everlook, ru down, get giants once that quest came up, then go back up, get firbolgs, then the meat, turn in, lather rinse, repeat.
Took just about the time for a 60day trial card to run out from making the character to getting the mount, but did it, looks bada ss with an undead, whiteskinned Draenei on it running around Iron Forge.
I wish all those that attempt this well, it is a long grind. I definatly suggest getting the TimberMaw rep quests out of the way, atleast so that you can start harvesting the feathers while doing this quest, and you can try and knock out two birds. I waited a while before I got really into the TM rep, so I only came out with a few hundred, but I'm sure you could get well on your way towards exalted by working both at the same time, depending on how many others were grinding out the work as well.

Need to do the first quest 840 times total to get this mount.
With the new patch allowing you to turn in cloth for fame, exalted with Darnassus is not a huge issue.
The fact that you're honored with Frostsaber Trainers would make the purchase price of this mount 900g I'd assume, plus the minor Darnassus riding training fee. If you're a skinner you'll probly get this from doing the quest 840 times.
This mount looks like one of the daddy frost sabers that are blue and white, think they're called Pride Watchers? (forgive me, forgot the name and too lazy to look it up)
The pure shock value of this mount is more than enough to do it, even if it isn't armored. The best alliance rogue on my server got one, seeing a human running around on a big ol' frostsaber is awesome, made me freak when I saw it today. The rogue went so far as to reveal that he had had the mount for a few months, and just hadn't been able to get exalted with Darnassus until the patch.
That's all I know regarding this mount.

i have done about 10%¨
4600/42000 = 10.9% (3000+1600) the best quest to do is the second quest you get. and my advice to all is do it late like after midnight. or very earlie (before 7 on the morning) then you dont have hord or other players that steel your shamans!
and i will get it!

Hi there... haven't posted before so forgive me for any mistakes.
I got my saber first on my hunter, Samssis. I grinded after reading up on what others had done.
It took me about 3 weeks of non consistant time because as an 80 and officer of a guild (not this toon) I had to take what time I could, including work and RL)
I agree that you have to do the first quest offered, but what I don't see mentioned is that there is a 'normal' quest for the bears (in the village) that you need to kill and those of lower lvl running THAT quest resent you being there. I was a 59 when I started it and got so many pissed off at me for being there competing... just consider. Second, getting the meat is the easiest, and getting the giants the hardest... 1 because they are elites, and 2 cause they are much farther away.
I did the giants a few times but usually ran the meat and village loop. I probably spent about the before attested 40 hours to get it.
I LOVE this mount and am now gonna use Winterspring and getting the mount for my Shammy.
Good luck!... be gentle with the levelers just trying to get through Winterspring. They don't know, or understand, why you might be competing with them for the same MOBs.
Nite,
Jahana, Tahara, Wildwind, Springsong, Wildeath, Grisom....

This may sound wierd but where do you get all these quests to raise your reputation to exaulted with the elves?
评论来自
Allakhazam
hm you need to have exaltet faction with damassus to learn tiger riding....and currently theres only the morrowgrain faction quest that would give you the chance to get thos 1-39k faction points you d need as a none elf. Unfortunatly this quest turns grey way bevor 60 and give only 10% of the faction it use to give at 52+.
If anyone realy try to get this tiger as none night elf....get a couple freinds and farmt he crater till you got enough faction for the tiger as soona s you reach 50+.

Rumor has it that if one is mind controled by a priest, they take on the reputaion of the priest. If that really is true, then one could be mind controled by a high level night elf priest to have the reputation for a period of time. If so... you might want to make it worth the priest's time to help.

Yay finally got it for my Druid after about 3.5 weeks of work. Like others have pointed out it took me about 40 hours or so.
I got averaged 5-6 quests done an hour (1250-1500 rep), and the remainder of the time was mostly spent selling stuff i picked up while farming.
The cat is simply beautiful, and will appear more pink, purple or white depending on the lighting conditions.
Glad I got it, but I don't know if I'll ever get it for my other chars... not a fun grind by any means... :p
Some hints and tips:
When doing Winterfall Intrusion make sure you clear out the Den Watchers as well, or after a few repeats there wont be many shaman spawning anymore.
Try to grind during off-hours on the server. I could do about 2000 rep/hour when no one was around, but was barely managing 1000 rep/hour with the competition that was inevitable during peak hours.
The Winterfall Intrusion was definitely the fastest quest to complete when no one else is around. However if there is a lot of competition for the shaman and ursa you can spend a lot of time waiting for re-spawns. During these times I found it faster to just repeat Frostsaber Provisions over and over again.
This is probably a no brainer but make sure you re-spec out of healing build while doing this... this didn't occur to me until a week in... boy things went faster as a boomkin...
Best of luck, and have fun on the endless grind!

I Reached exalted as a Human and still need Darnassus repuation to learn tiger riding. What about Chal Fairwind?
She does nothing for Non Night Elves!
Even if you click on her repeatadly after you reach exalted with the Wintersaber Trainer faction. :)
I guess I should be bitter but I'm half way to an uber mount is the way I see it, the other half I need is Darnassus reputation. I'm a human that's exalted with the Wintersaber Trainer Faction and now I'm going back to grinding for Darnassus repuation. Besides, I helped a night elf guild member get the mount along the way so its an accomplishment either way.
I'm posting this in case any 'non night elves' missed the info in one of the varies threads here and there. You need tiger riding training from Darnassus to be eligible to use the end reward for doing Rivern Frostwinds quests. I've petitioned a GM to suggest to developers that the wording from "rivern frostwind" be changed so that 'in game' content would give some sort of hint or warning that non night elves are not eligible for the reward without the required Darnassus faction standing.
If any player is serious about grinding for the reputation it might not be a bad idea to get it out of the way now until Blizzard updates the morrowgrain to feathermoon quest and or adds high level repuation quests similar to the ones available for the argent dawn.
That said I'll share some useful information that may or may not have been posted elsewhere in these forums about Rivern's quests. Here is a link to a Nigh Elf who completed the quests and posted great information about the quest
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-quests&t=19324&p=1&tmp=1#post19324
FACTS:
Quest Perspective: Human Warrior
Repuation Mod Used: Measures in the following fashion:
Nuetral bar 3000 pts
Freindly bar 6000 pts
Honored bar 12000 pts
Revered bar 21000 pts
Repuation gained per quest turn in is 55 pts.
Doesnt matter which quest, and it doesnt matter what your faction standing is. You get 55 repuation pts per quest turn in.
"Total" quest turn ins needed to reach exalted = 764 times.
Information elsewhere may be incorrect. This information is fact.
1st quest "Frostsaber Provisions" . complete this meat collecting quest about 30 times and you get the 2nd quest, Half way through the neutral bar.
2nd quest "Winterfall Intrusion" stick with this quest, its the most time efficient.
3rd quest "Rampaging Giants" involves lvl 59 - 60 elites. May require a group effort. Travel is far from the quest giver. Takes too long to complete compared to the 2nd quest. Even with a 100% speed increase mount.
Winterfall Intrusion QUEST TIPS:
Equipt: Carrot Stick
Attach: Mithril Spurs for boots
-Find ways to shave off minutes even seconds per quest run. When you have to repeat a quest 764 times every second counts!
-Find people that are doing the quest and group. Its a kill count quest so every kill within your range counts.
-If you see Alliance grinding for Timbermaw rep in the village ask them if they wouldnt mind grouping for your quest.
-If you see Horde grinding winterfall ursa and winterfall shaman well what you do is up to you. PvP makes this tedious questing longer but its fun :)
-If your grouped with friends that aren't turning in the quest and just helping out ask them to kill the "winterfall den watchers" inside the village so more shaman spawn for your return
-
Uber Quest Tip:
Use a Warlock to summon you from Rivern Frostwind to the village over and over again. Yes it requires a party of 4. 3 to summon plus yourself. Yes I have payed Warlocks per summon if that's the incentive that was required. Remember the price per summon may cost you 25slv but reaching exalted is priceless.
Times:
Solo'ing the quest can take as long as 20minutes per run, especially if there aren't enough shaman spawned. Thats 3 quest turn ins per hour. Average is 15 minutes per run by yourself.
2 or more pple and the quest run averages 10-15 minutes. so you can potentially average 6 quest runs per hour.
Using a warlock shaves off the 3 min mounted ride back to the village. So you can potentially complete 9 quest turn ins every 60 minutes. That almost 500 rep pts per hour :)
Exalted
After reaching exalted "Rivern Frostwind" gives you the option of a vendor pop up window that will allow you to purchase the mount for 900g (you can also sell some of your useless items to him as he is techanically a vendor now :) )
If you are NOT a night elf the mount is purchasable but the icon is "red" and "requires tiger riding" shows in red as well. /sigh.

First off, there are 3 quests in the series.
The first quest : Frostsaber Provisions. Do this quest exactly 30 times (gets you halfway to neutral).
The second quest : Winterfall Intrusion. Do this quest exactly 120 times (gets you to honored).
The third quest : Rampaging Giants. Do this quest if you want, I dont recommend it. The faction hit is the same as the second one. Doing the 2nd quest is easier and faster.
Now, for the confusing part. The NPC says "Only the most TRUSTED and REVERED" may be eligiable to attempt to ride this tiger.
So, according to the quest giver, you only need revered faction. I will find out very soon anyway. Im sitting at honored as of now.

With TBC patch 2.5.1 or 2.5.2, the below are the quests available and reputation for each turn in.
Neutral to 1500/3000
Frostsaber Provisions -
250 rep
1500/3000 to Exalted
Winterfall Intrusion -
250 rep
Honored to Exalted
Rampaging Giants -
350 rep
Also, this now costs 90 gold in this version, not 900. Well worth the grind!

To clarify: when you start only
Frostsaber Provisions
is available. This is a "collect the drop" quest, and the drop rate is low. The moment you earn 3,000 rep you get to FRIENDLY and
Winterfall Intrusion
becomes available. This is a "kill" quest, and every kill counts, so it is faster by a lot. You need to kill 10: 5
Winterfall Shaman
and 5
Winterfall Ursa
. The moment your total earned rep points reach 9,000 rep you get to HONORED and
Rampaging Giants
becomes available. This is a "kill" quest, and every kill counts, so it is faster by a lot, and you only need to kill 8: 4
Frostmaul Giant
and 4
Frostmaul Preserver
. Be sure to Accept
both
quests, as the quest zone for Winterfall Intrusion is on the direct path to the quest zone for Rampaging Giants which is much further away. Also do not try this alone until you are lvl 70, as these Frostmaul giants are difficult to kill at any lower level.

I believe you no longer need to be exalted with Darnassus. as of 2023 that is.
Having skinning has made me a decent sum of gold during this grind.
Mount increases from Paladins or being a dk has made this a little less painful.
Good luck, have fun!
