I'm not sure if this is a bug or something, but flytrap seems to just tickle these mobs like 200 melee swings. You don't have to tank any of them, but the time spent killing stuff is way more than the other assaults.

Use Cutter Fin. The other champions seem absolutely worthless. Fin actually tanks & does damage. The difference between Fin & the others is enough that if you've started the quest & picked someone else, even if you've killed some of the quest targets, abandon it & start back over with Fin. Don't forget to use his ability, it's really good unlike the others'.

For me as a tonk Swan seemed really bad because the ability fears away the mobs.

It will not let me choose a companion. I have log out and back in, was not mounted, and no add ons running...... I also tried abandoning quest and picking up and still will not let me choose one....

For anyone going for the achievement, This Army, the champions available change after the daily reset. So if you don't see a champion that you need for the achievement, wait a day.

Boil Master Yetch needs a huge buff. His dps is nothing even with his action button. Do not take this assistant as a tank unless you want the achievement.
He does get a buff but his dps is still horrible, you do more DPS as a tank single target (without covenant ability) than he does.
He will drop a potion occasionally that you can run over for 2% total health restoration every so many seconds.
Better to do this in a dps spec.
As blood DK I could pull 3 of the big ones and 7 of the smaller ones at once and barely take any dmg. however their HP and defense are so high that this takes about 3 minutes + just to kill one of the smaller Demolishers.
Cutter Fin
He does good dmg and can sort of tank.
Just swap to DPS and pull everything then hit is button and blow your CDs.
Wait for CDs to come off CD and rinse repeat.
Be prepared to heal because he doesn't hold aggro very well on even one mob so multiple mobs might suddenly turn on you.
Other than that go to LFG and make a group there are plenty of DPS going wth this is taking forever and looking for help.

If this quest bugs out and you lose your companion, don't worry, it's still relatively easy to solo. Pull the elites into the nearby Kyrian forces, and the rank'n'file ascended will help you fight. There's one fighting near a gate where you can get a centurion to tank for you, too. Obnoxiously, even if you had chosen a companion, you won't get credit towards This Army unless they finish the quest with you.

And yes, I know you can drop the quest and start over, but if you were almost done when your partner buggers off, maybe you don't want to; or as someone mentioned, even dropping the quest and trying again didn't help. This is just in case abandoning the quest isn't the ideal option.

so they're all volunteers and you have to pick one . if it dies or you lose it, it expects to pick up again with you because you chose it . if you choose a different one, it has to complete the quest and i wonder if it feels good to mess up the balance between the 5 houses like that , ya bonewrecker

you are given a chance to meet each one , and think about it before you choose - they all volunteered to be the left nostril to your right nostril. together you make a nose. . you say hi, the volunteer introduces itself succinctly with attitude to bat. and it wont take it personally if you aren't feeling a chemistry with them because each one was built to do 1 thing better than the rest.

I started the assault today hoping to be able to complete this quest (I need to complete it with each of the companions for the achievement On the Offensive) but it wasn't one of the 2 quests Baroness Draka offered. Does she offer different quests during each assault or do I have to do something special for her to offer this quest again?

Something is wrong with this quest, every time I have done it I have had the same 3 choices each in the same spot as before. I have done it with all 3 of them but there are 2 more in the achievement. If this is not a glitch then that is weird since the same 3 in the same spots 4 times is statistically unlikely, if it is supposed to be a random 3.

Turn this quest in last. That allows you to use your new friend on the other 3 quests. He disappears after turn-in of course.

If you are trying to farm the achievement one point that may help - the champions reset daily during the assault.
