Next quest in this line is The Final Ritual.

The path leading to the Altar of Storms is due south of the cave entrance on your map. The path is guarded by two Shadowsworn Enforcers.

When you get to the Altar, there are some gigantic bones with a little altar on top of those bones. When you roll your mouse over the altar, you should get a cogwheel that you can right click. This will begin the ritual.

During the ritual, Shadowsworn Obstructors with very low hit points spawn all around the altar and start channeling a spell called Disrupt Ritual which will draw a green lightning bolt from the NPC to Loramus. Kill the demons before they finish channeling and you will complete the quest objective.

The quest is then turned in back at the Serpent's Coil near Kasim Sharim.

While you're at the altar doing this quest turn up the game music volume for the sake of atmosphere and enjoy the epic background music. This is really what a demonic altar should sound like. o_O

This quest is awful. I had to try about four different times. My best advice: if you are able to heal yourself quickly, then ignore actually killing the ones who are disrupting. Rather, just interrupt their casting.

Interesting Bug, I started this quest and was happily defending Loramus when this ever so helpful Hordie came up behind me and with his level 85 uberness 1 hit my level 59 Druid (Toq of Ravenholt I'm looking at you). Anyway I released and wandered back to my corpse only to find the Hordie camping me *sigh* However suddenly I hear "Quest Complete"

So I guess defending him is not important if your dead.

It's worth noting that, if you're really up on your Azeroth geography, there are at least two Altars of Storms. If you go to the one by Blackrock Mountain, you will not be able to complete this quest. STAY IN the BLASTED LANDS.

Can't find Loramus? he's under the tent. If your camera angle's high enough, his name and ? are hidden, and that makes you feel a bit noobish when you come here looking for him.

What is the meaning of this? Is the writer anti-cultist?
Or aren't those cultists wearing Functional Cultist suits in order to be powerful enough? Discuss

I just did this on my second toon and I noticed that someone else was in the middle of the quest. I waited around, killed a few obstructors, and when his finished, I also got credit. However, when I continued on to do You Are Rakh'likh, Demon, he had also started first, and I joined in the middle, but I didn't get credit; I had to redo it after he was gone.

If you are a warlock in Metamorphosis or Dark Apotheosis form during this quest, you can understand what he says in demonic.

The first thing he yelled for me was "Holy moley!"

In a later part of the quest-chain he yells "The pain! Oh, sweet sassy molassey!"

Gotta love Blizzard's humor.

Path up to the alter is at 40 35.5. Just click on the alter to deposit the body, park yourself on the alter and blast anyone who attacks the body.

This took me a few tries to complete, failed to protect the body before the ritual was over. But the way I got it to work was to kill the 5 people & demons surrounding the altar to begin with, place the body on the altar, then hop off the altar and circle around, hitting the demons once with frostbolt and continue circling hitting each one with frostbolt once, and leaving my minion to finish them all off. (The toon I was using is a frost mage, btw, but something like this could work for any ranged attackers with a minion/pet.)

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that the altar is a nod to Warcraft II and III.
According to WoWWiki:

Altar of Storms refers to certain structures used during the Second and Third Wars. Orc warlocks in the Second War invented a method to grant intelligence and magical powers to their ogre allies. This method involved arcane edifices such as the Altar of Storms. The Alliance destroyed several such altars in the Second War. Altars of Storms were initially created by the warlock Gul'dan to channel demonic energies into ogre-magi. Altars of Storms were imbued with the corrupted power of the great Runestone at Caer Darrow. Only a few of the original Altars of Storms remain. During the Third War, many of the Altars of Storms were retooled by troll masons to channel shamanistic energy in order to revive fallen heroes.

As a gnome hunter, I did not get any quest reward, because I didn't get to choose between any. Probably a bug with the new race/class combo which some quests do not seem to "understand".

I just tried doing this quest on my level 100, but i keep getting phased when i get to the altar, anyone else got this issue?

You can't finish the quest currently, because of the dalaran phasing. It overrules the normal zone phasing.

Need to wait until fixed or wait till Dalaran is moved.

I really like how the statues' eyes glow when empowering/resurrecting Loramus' body (or Body, as the object says). These statues are the same type that stand sentry to the Outland portal.

It's not a distraction to look up at the statues, either, as it helps to see where the spawning enemies are channelling from by looking up at Loramus' Body.

If you do this as a Demon Hunter you can see what he is saying in demonic.
Parn rakir is "Holy Moley"
and Zila il amanalar is "This is horrible"

Description

Up on the bluffs to the west lies a powerful altar. A powerful DEMONIC altar, guarded by cultists, but powerful nonetheless. If you can reach it, you can use it to bring Loramus back to us.

The altar will likely resist your efforts, so you'll have to protect Loramus' body while the ritual completes. Bring the demon hunter back to me afterwards.
