Vez'okk the Lightless

Vez'okk the Lightless is the final objective of the Lost Area - Valley of Wisdom. Prior to Vez'okk spawning, the player will have had to clear a majority of the mobs in the VoW for the first objective (Progress Bar). This includes Voidcrazed Hulk & Coagulated Horror which are two Elite NPC's at opposite ends of the zone. He is not as difficult as Rexxar, however not being familiar with his mechanics can be an issue and cause a much unwanted failure of a Horrific Vision.

Fight / Engagement with Vez'okk:

Once 100% progress on the "Defeat Enemies" is achieved, Vez'okk will spawn
Engage Vez'okk to start the fight and begin to DPS down
Melee will obviously need to be in melee range, and ranged can remain at ranged distance
As Vez'okk's health pool diminishes, at approximately 85-90%% he will cast Defiled Ground. This is a direct spell, and has a cast bar that is shown. You will want to move out of the path of this spell, it is essentially a direct line about 3 yards wide (in-game). It causes a stun and sanity damage. You can essentially move out of the way and continue dps'ing him down during the cast.
Once Vez'okk reaches 65-70%% health, he will cast Ring of Chaos which puts a ring of orbs around himself. Be careful of these orbs as they are rather large, and again cause a stun/sanity drain. Melee can be inside of these orbs and continue to close range dps. Ranged can remain outside of the orbs and continue to dps, however need to be mindful that after 4-5 seconds these orbs will shoot out in a straight path and can come into contact with you.
During the fight, at 80%, 50%, and 30%, Vez'okk will call cast Unleash Corruption which puts 3 purple rings / pools onto the ground and calls adds into the fight. Do not stand in these pools. The adds are small Sha' like horrors and some aberrations. If you have a quick cast AOE or AOE stun, feel free to use it, otherwise ignore and focus Vez'okk.
The cycle of Defiled Ground or Ring of Chaos will continue until Vez'okk is dead.
Once Vez'okk is dead, the majority of his mechanics (Sanity pool from Defiled Ground / Orbs from Ring of Chaos) will automatically disappear. His adds will not though, and you will need to clear them up to proceed.

Tips:

Vez'okk spawns right near the entrance to the VoW and patrols down to the forksplit. Clear as many of the mobs as you can prior to engaging, as several of the mobs have Fear / Stun effects that can extremely detrimental during the fight.
Vez'okk has a rather low health pool and can be burned down quickly, however be careful not to stand still during the fight to try and burn him down. Taking a direct hit from Defiled Ground or Ring of Chaos will cause a stun affect and drain sanity. It will also cause you to be subject to potential issues relating to the madness affixes for that week.
Be mindful of the madness affixes for that week in the Lost Area's. Each one can cause potential issues during the fight, especially for melee style classes. Two of the madness's can be especially frustrating; Madness: Split Personality & Madness: Leaden Foot. This fight requires a bit of movement to dodge some of the mechanics, and as such if you are not paying attention or familiar these two can be rather detrimental to you dodging those affects.
While not required, it is recommended that your sanity level be higher than 500. This is dependent on your cloak level, experience in HV's, and DPS output. Vez'okk has several hard hitting sanity drains that can quickly cause you to be stunned and drop to zero sanity causing HV failure.
If running Masks, you are obviously familiar with the encounter and mechanics. Having said that, each mask will only make this fight more difficult and challenging. So be aware of the added mechanics as they apply during the fight.

All in all, it is not a difficult fight, and Vez'okk should go down rather quickly if you are able to dodge the couple of mechanics and affixes. Once he is down, you can take the Wind Totem Portal back to the beginning to continue onto other zones or engage Thrall.

Be warned this mob can suddenly disappear during your fight. Not sure why, only thing I can think of is running over the obstacles between his spawn point and the previous boss and/or the mob getting stuck on 1 of those.

This Horrific Visions is untested garbage at best, but one of the sure signs is how the adds that spawn for this guy are still around after you kill him. I'm sure this is a bug, but I'm also sure it will never be fixed.
