Just 2million accounts?Really?Dead Game.
So you're saying that, according to that site, which has direct access to WoW's API, there are currently just over 2 million toons at lvl 60?Not a month into the expansion?Hmm.
I had already made a big googledocs sheet for all my toons (I have many alts). Going off this, I did do some thinking, switched my druid to NF from Venthyr (he hadn't made a choice yet, still 50) because I noticed that all 4 specs pretty much NF is amazing, and although I loved the idea of vampire feral kitty, if I wanted to change to balance/resto at any point, I'd be gimping myself. Also even if I want to tank some. NF all the way for druid. everything else I had chosen mostly stands, the only other class I cant decide is Rogue. currently Sin, and I was all in on Necrolord, the bone spike seems like a way better ability/flavor than Flagwhatever from Venthyr. Also the NL leather set is pretty nice on a rogue (imo) but I also like Venthyr looks. Most guides/lists have NF as rogue for all 3 specs, and I already have enough NF on my roster, didn't feel like NF fit my human rogue, and I know I'll get burnt out on NF if I have so many toons doing NF. So I'm most likely going NL on the rogue and going sub. Not optimal but its an alt not a main so it will be ok. Kyrian on both my monks, across the board all 3 specs are kyrian heavy. I had NF as my blood elf monk originally, and kyrian for my dark iron monk, but decided to just go kyrian on both, as its same thing as druids with NF, kyrian just is amazing all 3 specs, so I'm covered if swap specs or want to heal, dps or tank, if I went NF on monk, would be kind of iffy. Some class/specs are just made for each other, Loving Venthyr on the worgen fury warrior. Looks amazing, plays amazing. Might become favorite of SL. Its that good. Overall this helped me a bit, and its nice to see what others are thinking/planning and to back up my personal predictions/feelings on each.
I am the 2.02%....of Vengeance DHs supporting NecroLords.
Night fae is good for basically every druid spec but guardian, so it's not surprising to see that druids would still pick it regardless if they like to work with multiple specs.
It's obvious that people are going to go towards power. Even if you want to completely strike power from the menu, the four choices are very barebones in terms of lore and personality. We have:Justice driven goodie two shoesHonor/Hawkish battle goons and undead loversPlayful sprites and tree huggersArrogant vampiresWhere does a Goblin or a Mechagnome logically go? You can make small arguments for portions of each of the planes sure, but it isn't clear cut. As a Goblin Hunter I don't feel like my character would blend in with any of them, so I chose the stupid faeries. You have to really stretch some of these. Sucks that Night Fae is so obviously the Night Elf faction, especially when the third quest line is all about saving exclusively night elf souls and freeing them in Ardenweald. I pray that Tyrande dies soon.
I wasn’t very thrilled by this expansion to begin with: The afterlife turns out to be the exact same everyday business that you get while being alive. Nothing to look forward to. None of the four covenants you can choose form are where I would want to spend the rest of eternity. So, the decision which one to take boils down to power or cosmetics / mounts / etc. Knowing Blizz, the covenant that gives you the most dps will change with every content patch and if you are not prepared to change every time you are bound to be screwed for most of the addon. The same goes for cosmetics. You either switch / use alts to get all or you will miss out on 3/4 of the content. From a design point of view, covenants are just there to keep you busy by making you do large parts of the expansion 4 times instead of one.
Well, 3.7million people bought shadowlands, so I'm guessing that's a more accurate figure.
