The token has helped so much the community. I mean you can log in to wow for the first time and instantly have 10 million gold in your character. if these money go to blizzard its ok. if it goes to botters its illegal. if you dont understand then you are not stupid.
This is how I've been funding my own WoW for years... When Tokens are like 150k I buy a bunch of them... Then wait half a year for the game to lose players, then go sell them all for 300k... Then I wait for a new patch to bring people back and go buy tokens again at 150k :)
I wonder if this is at least in part because with the Microsoft purchase of Blizzard-Activision there is speculation that the token could be expanded onto having value as currency in the Microsoft Store? This would make some sense to me as suddenly WoW gold could buy a much broader range of goodies and games when cashed in for store credit.
Lmao… I’m so glad I just pay my $12/mo and don’t have to worry about farming gold every month to pay my sub… that to me would make the game very unenjoyable… also I’d rather give Blizz $12/month than 15… or $20… Blizz tries to balance the market, but it’s in their best interests to keep prices low… they want to encourage ppl to pay $20 for a token and buy gold vs. cashing in gold to buy game time.. but every token sold nets them money either way… but they sell more when they only cost 150k instead of 400k… but there will always be farmers and grinders who think they are scamming Blizz by grinding out a token every month when in reality they are just earning Blizz more money… sure you save yourself $12 every month, but is the grind to earn 150k-400k gold every month worth it… it is to some ppl but not to me personally.. also, if you’re “struggling” to pay your monthly sub, maybe you need to rethink your priorities and maybe play a free online game instead… no one should “struggle” to get $15/mo to pay for wow…
remember if you deal with tokens your the number one problem with wow
It's absolutely baffling that there are so many economy issues within a fictional world. We have enough of those to deal with in the US.
when first thought I wanted to go back to Wotlk classic wow but Gdkp is taking over Wotlk I decided to come back just to struggled to find a teammate dungeon failed to participate. nobody wants level 60s up to 70 anyone your just stuck hard to level. retail was ok game for me, I never got a chance wanted do classic and burning till hardcore existed. i hope loot system woltk need be changed unfair these people going on gdkps community
Add Bruto back to vendor for gold cap and we will see the inflation tempering. Right now we get 1 Bruto showing up on the BMAH every few days, which hardly constitutes a meaningful gold sink.
You have the bot thing backwards. The reason the Classic wow token is worthless is because right now 100,000 gold can be obtained elsewhere for ~$150. That's roughly 22 WoW Token's for just over $425, and that's IF people even buy them.Might not be a bad idea... $150 for two years of wow time...
I've played since 2007 and every expac (and patch) there's a lull in player activity after the raiders have cleared the final boss. We've currently reached that point in the expansion (with one final patch to go). Remember that only 10% of the player-base raids or does M+ content. I only have Cutting Edge because my main's Guild did a Social run last week, and other clears of Normal in Saturday Social runs earlier in the expac. The only time I've set foot in Mythic was at the start of the expansion, when I decided the ultra-fast pace was not for me & my older brain. Many may not have access to such a friendly Guild, or choose not to do that type of content.Typically there will also be fall-off of open-world players during the expansion too. They've cleared the main storyline and either they've: found another game to play; simply got bored & are doing other things; or Real Life means they can no longer devote as much time to play. This cycle too is typical. This too is normal. What is not as typical is: the low raider/M+ numbers at the start of the expansion. This indeed shows a waning interest by high-end players, many of whom followed Preach and others to Final Fantasy, and did not return. The stats show SL dropped to 12.4K at the end (last raid), and only 10.8K raiders came back (first raid of DF). Even these stats show drop off is lower %age wise. Those who did come back, 90% stayed for the 2nd raid (10.8K > 9.5K) compared to c60% in SL (21.9K to 12.4K).The higher fall-off in M+ numbers could be explained by a combination of : the fact that high keys are stressful as they are time limited and very punishing for any failure; the increased toxicity of some players at high levels; and the many alternatives to gearing now available in the open world. You can get Veteran - Normal Raid - gear by farming mobs, and a Champion - Heroic - piece by completing a weekly quest, (two if you do the Timewalking weekly). Players *not* in the top 10%, like myself, thus may prefer the slower, less stressful (and family friendly) method of gearing, and play to play rather than stress ourselves out once a week pushing keys or the fixed schedule of raiding. These Open World players are not shown in the stats quoted for raiding & M+. There are definitely fewer active players there now, but that is also true of previous expansions.
The WoW token's gold cost is set up by Blizzard, it has very little to do with anything we're doing. It's a scam.
