Also, the truth is probably that either they don't know how to implement a merge of the two factions, or it's going to be a gargantuan task that's gonna involve a ton of code refactoring. Remember that this game is over 15 years old, and so is the faction system. They probably have thousands of lines of code, a lot of it written by people that don't even work there anymore, to review and/or rewrite. People already !@#$% and whine incessantly about not getting enough new content, and something of this size would need to get a lot of development time allocated to it.
Alliance just need to want to do the good content then i suppose
The reason is , when you look at the greater picture, there is really no big imbalance. If you take , as example MDI , 9/10 Groups are all night elfs , just because they have an invisibility spell where they can invis some irritating trash mobs. So playing night elf , is good for m+ as alliance.Horde Doesnt have some sort of invisibility , they have some damage increasing abilites , sure but timing keys is easier on allaince compared to horde ( from an MDI perspective )Raiding however is a different piece of cake , besides RWF there is litteraly 0 interest in raiding ( as an e-sport thing ).Ofcourse when it comes to RWF , most of time horde wins over the racial abilities. However you wanna look at it , alliance is good is stuff where horde is less good , and horde is better in stuff where alliance is worse for some content. It all comes down to what content you prefer to do.
Referred to by interview host Scott Johnson as "one of the most common questions they received"It is almost perplexing how they keep dodging and ignoring one of the obvious most major concerns of their own player base, the community they always state they would listen to. In my opinion some of the lead developers have been disconnected from the reality how the community perceive the game and how they are seeing it.
Isnt it also entirely possible ppl just like one faction over the other? For me, idgaf whatever shiny bells and whistles blizz could throw on the alliance i just wont play them. Why? Simply i just dont like anything about them. And vice versa for the alliance lifer's. Removing factions is def not the answer, throw that out the window.
It isn't a social issue that needs a social solution... It's a player power balance issue created by Blizzard that needs a Player Balance solution.. everyone knows every top Alliance raiding guild and pvper jumped ship from Alliance to Horde back when the horde had Overpowered racials.. And by the time they removed these racials, it was too little too late as everyone worth their salt was already on horde and as a result of this imbalance of top guilds and pvpers being horde, caused a domino effect throughout the years since, of luring new top players to horde when they see that the top players/guilds are on horde...So the only solution to this issue is to intentionally do like they did in the past, but instead of Horde having Overpowered racials, Alliance needs overpowered racials or some sort of exclusive buff that will make it worthwhile for top guilds and pvpers to jump ship back to alliance for the unfair advantage. Just let this exist until once enough top guilds and players have swapped to alliance (and Alliance claims a world first once again to solidify it), then remove the racial to restore balance.
"Since that time, racials have been fairly well balanced"who is he kidding? Racials have been 1 sided for horde which is why every top guild is horde... If they weren't you'd see more world first guilds in alliance... take Castle Nathria for example, the Horde Hall of Fame was closed and the Alliance was at 12.... 12 alliance guilds had cleared Castle Nathria in the same time that 100 horde guilds had.
Yeah, my son and I love Alliance ! But have struggled finding groups for RBGs and arena.....so are now lvl 50 with our Horde characters (which we dont really like ).
To be honest, WOW revolves around end game, and end game revolves around group content, so if you play Alliance, you have access to smaller amount of content because you don't have access to groups that Horde has access to. "Theoretically" you pay the same sub to access the same content, but "in practice" you're excluded from cutting edge mythic raiding, high m+ pushing and so forth due to lack of access to groups. It's an endless loop of trying to find people to play with instead of actually playing, and if you find them, sooner or later they leave to transfer to horde and you're back to square one.
Allow cross faction pve or just give every alliance player free transfer to horde... It's just laughable at this point how backwards and stubborn Blizzard is about factions.
Ion is a stupid f'ing idiot. Let Alliance and Horde play together already! You can keep your outdated, childish war story going with the NPCs but let us freaking play together already. That's the only solution that will actually address this issue. I don't give a flippin' F if it's a social issue or whatever. Players don't care about the factions anymore. Ever freaking expansion we end up working together anyhow. Let us just play together. God damn it!
Change world pvp to FFA!
No one has any actual ideas on the subject outside of get rid of the factions which is still a big part of wow, Unless they make one side wholly more powerful than the other its a slim chance of fixing it without tossing out one of the most defining things for wow.
