I took a break from WoW once, for 6 months. It wasn't a planned break mind you, just one day I got bored and sure it confused my boyfriend. After a day, three days, a week, a month went by I guess he realized I wasn't going to play anymore. Actually, I thought I'd given up for good.Of course he decided he was going to play WoW two months before WotLK came out, and so I started again.TL;DR: Long story short, no WoW for 6 months. :<
Stopped playing several times. Some months after WotLK, and then came back for a month to check it out. Then I stopped playing for a few months again and now I'm back(Friend paid for a month because he wanted to do hcs :P) I don't have any problems stopping, I love this game and i sometimes come back to it, because nothing makes the game better than a good ol' break! You people should try it, this game is extremely distracting, at least for me it is.
Well... i've never had an urge to leave wow, i had times when i got bored... like now. i'm not playing for like a month, but i gotta login every sunday to manage the guild since i'm the leader...
Well i am an addict, but it is not like I get sick if i stay off wow. Usually never plays at all if i work on summers, so 3 months period completly dry. If something more important is needed i will do it.The only thing i can feel is then you gotta go bcs real life calls you, then i feel the urge alot more. Like you playing for one hour or so and suddenly you gotta go without planning, that makes me itch some.perhaps only me who get that problems:)
I would have to say that the ultimate way to break the inevitable grasp that blizzard has on you is to get deployed for 15 months down range... I understand in some places you have access to the net, but in most, you don't... which gives you the best available need to cut your play time down...
My subscription comes from people who simply give me money instead of gifts on my birthday and at Christmas - I drop it into a bank account and take it out when I need to renew. However, since it's getting low, and I don't want to take anything from my other accounts, I'm contenting myself with playing DDO until the subscription will get me through November - I want that Onyxia whelp pet to go with my nether whelp and frost whelp.
@ TheRevRun: Not sad at all! You deserve a WHOLE lot more than just playing WoW -- THANK YOU for serving in Iraq.
I lol'd.
