OK HERE IS WHY SO LISSEN GUD Of course most people have been been looking at comments and going, "Ughhhh...so many words... *TL;DR-induced drooling slumber*", and then posting their own comments: Horde about how they feed on ally's tears and rants, and Alliance about how they are either torked off about the change (hardecore players), or about how they will welcome the change (casual players). However, (important part here) There will still time to get done what you want to, and no, the mount will not become exclusive or disappear just because the method of obtaining it is changing. Why? Because if you don't have the mount (or possible achiev) and still want to get it the old-way, then you will probably be a hardcore-style player who enjoys swiftly finishing something and moving on to the next thing, which, of course, would anger you that this method of obtaining the frostaber will be replaced. Your anger/ irritation, however, (and don't /wrath me or anything for this) is pretty much in vain. Since it's pretty obvious that patch 4.1 is not coming out anytime soon, you should have ample time to PVP and PVE all you want until you would actually have to start worrying about not getting the mount. So even if you do procrastinate a bit, there will still be time to get the mount the "classic" and "faster" way. As for most of the casual/role players on the other end of the spectrum; Patience is key, and show a little pity luv to "hardcore" players, who will lose out on a method they've enjoyed since it's been there. If you absolutely <3, :D, and ^-^ to death the idea of giving your incredibly-adorable soon-to-be winterspring frostsaber mount a cat toy, or of only needing to do a daily for a guaranteed 20 days, then you should be able to wait a little (proportionally) longer for this change, considering that you've been waiting this long for it now, and that you'd be willing to wait 20 days instead of 1 hard day to get it (Also a good thing to remember is that even if you aren't impatient now, you might be in the future). As for getting the achiev as a casual/ RP player who supports this method, all I have to (regrettably) say about a possible achiev for being exalted with winterspring trainers is that the only way to get it is to get the rep old-school style, and all i have to refer to are the countless other achivs and rewards blizz offers to solid dedication in/to their game. For example: Shen'dralar much? And the Swift Zulian mounts that required EXTREME dedication to obtain. I won't be going into extreme detail about that particular topic (another thread in another forum, and on another day), but do realize that if you happen to want the possible achiev as a casual player, it'd be a much harder thing to obtain. And as for the rest of you lot, who seem content with taking out your anger here about how Blizz is, and I quote several people, "homogenizing" or "making pointless changes", I have a possibly hard truth for you: You don't own WoW. You are completely entitled to your opinion, and are very free to make your point, but try not to start a riot over it. You have to give Blizz credit for trying and learning what many of us would never be capable of attempting, and we can support them by supporting what they do. So maybe they want to update the winterspring trainers' and their frostsabers? Maybe they felt they owed it to the Alliance (and perhaps they will to the horde soon) after how many years, or after being ignored by "bigger" things. The customers with less than 20 items still have the right to go through the line where they got in at, and not have to defer to people with more items just because they have more items. These changes should be really easy to cope with, considering how convenient the timing is. It's not too late for people to enjoy obtaining the mount the old way, and it's not too early for people who are eager for the change to have to wait too long a time with a carrot in front of their face. All in all, it evens out well, and if you can handle it correctly, then you should be able to deal with the change just fine. And for those people who would flare up over me saying "it evens out well", I would tell you that just because something is "even' or "equal" doesn't mean that there cannot be variety to it. If it were COMPLETELY homogenized, then you would see two factions both running around on winterspring tigers and ravasaur raptors. THAT, however, is simply something we must hope never happens, because if it does, then heaven knows that we actually would have a good reason for the forums to catch fire with angry posts and comments. /end rant.P.S. You might get the reference at the top if you repeatedly abuse the F5 key on the Wowhead homepage.
Holy mother of crap, people, it's just a game.

The reason for the change is quite simple actually. What I can't understand is why some think it didnt need to change.Alliance: Had the ability to attain it quite fast if they had the time to grind it out. Like some have stated, it could be had in 1 day if you were dedicated enough. Of course this is a good thing for those who want it that fast. And for those who don't, you can pace yourself as well.Horde: Did NOT have the ability to grind it in one day if they wanted. 20 dailies is all? Yeah, but that is ONE daily for TWENTY days....period.Now if you cannot see why or why not this will be/was implemented from these simple facts, you have other issues in life.Good Day
I have 2 Winterspring Frostsabers and the Venomhide Ravasaur. My guildmates call me the masochist because I can put up with mindless hours of grinding and farming just to get, as one guildie put it, "an ugly re-skinned Darnassus mount." I don't mind the change, I still have the satisfaction that I farmed my heinder off for the 2 Frostsabers, and my personal satisfaction at that accomplishment is all that matters to me.(Lol at captcha: perfectly blessed)
I've done this rep grind on my main and thought it was incredibly mind-numbing. Out of all the solo rep grinds I've done, this one took the longest because I absolutely hated doing it - several weeks would pass before I'd have the will to do more - and so it took me a few months. After she got exalted and got the mount, I decided 'Never again'.Now that it's going to be easier, I may consider letting my alts have it as well. And yays for the pet!
I did the repeatable quest a few times, and even after it was easier (increased reputation) it still made me want to spork out my eyes.So I'm pleased with the change. Even though it's really rare for me to use ground mounts any more, I may actually end up with this one.
Does anyone know what's going to happen to the reputation in game, and if it's going to be easier pre patch or post? I want to know so I can do it before it launches or just wait.
I am so glad to see this change. I cannot stand the grind for this Rep.
I'm not going to deny that at first I was upset about this, but then I thought it and things change, just flow with it. I got mine 08/04/09, think that was 3.2.0, but not sure. It was nerfed then from what people originally had to grind, and I didn't complain about that, so no need to complain about this one. It'll just be easier to get it on my alts now, but not even sure I will. Just would like to see how the change is going to implemented. If the faction disappears, what about our exalted status? Is it still going to be a FoS?Will people that ground it before, get the cub, or will we have to return and do the dailies for that?
The first thing I see after an Aestu comment is someone else pointiong out why he is such an ass... Not that it's bad they do that, 'cause it's true ya know...And if any moderaters read this, I would love to know, why haven't Aestu been banned yet?
Is it really so hard to accept that they simply changed it for an excuse to remove an outdated and extraneous faction as well as to make the process of obtaining the mount even for both sides? Sheesh, guys.
