Seems like I play this game for the wrong reason: Relaxation, Distraction and Having Fun."We also play to have fun"... with all the stress about having the best setup, changing it every few weeks and investing the time to catch up from change penalties? I highly doubt it."but another equally skilled person will do better than you with Night Fae." ... so?
I bet a lot of why most people are choosing covenants is because of story, transmog, and atmosphere. Like why would rogues go with necrolord with that horrible armor set? I am not going to spend months earning that disgusting set when i could be getting a cool one like night fae or kyrian. I chose to go night fae with my DK because that is my main and i want to spend my time in a more pleasant area and i was able to make a nice armor set including some of the winterborn recolor and an old PVP set.. I am going to do Necrolord with my warrior because i have some weapons that will look awesome with necrolord armor for warrior. I just unlocked torghast on my main this week and am enjoying night fae story. It is more light-hearted and fun.
A lot of these are fine on the rp element for specs as well as power, but elemental shaman and necrolord ewwwww. What a mismatch in rp.
Hopefully Blizzard will realize that people aren't going to switch covenants (unless a new one becomes far and away the best) due to ridiculous punishment of doing so. I don't necessarily mind player power being locked to covenants, especially with the recent tuning bringing a lot of them closer to one another for many specs, but player power being locked to them and having to jump through hoops to switch is absurd.
Lol part of the 2.9% of windwalker monks because I like summoning red ghost monks.
Curious how many of all those meta slaves even play the kind of content where covenant choice actually matters. Seeing how anything up to 15s (in pugs) and 20s (in coordinated groups) can be done with any covenant you want. Same applies I'd say all the way up to ~mid mythic raids, in anything below that...your covenant choice won't be what stops you from progressing, I can promise you that.Signed,Fae Resto Shaman
I honestly picked mine because of a certain NPC related to it, the general visuals, and the fact that the Transmog was fitting
I'm an enhancement shaman that chose Kyrian, hoping they would fix the obvious imbalance. That has not happened, of course, and I don't have the option to swap to Venthyr without having to spend half a year catching up on mission table followers that are still not able to complete the level 48 mission since Kyrian followers are trash.I would swap to Venthyr and put in more play time if it were reasonably viable. I would even farm the renown, as that's a decent system. The catch-up for anima, souls, and followers is non-existent though.
