Many keep acting like Torghast is the equivelant to the Mage Tower from Legion. It is not. It is comparable to the Artifacts from Legion, being that it is the centerpiece feature of the expansion. That feature across all expansions needs to be accessible to everyone. Including casual players. They could put in a hard mode difficulty toggle for the progression players, and leave the default thing completable for everyone. They could also put in a Mage tower wing with challenge mode bosses for exclusive transmog. That would please people too. There are things they could do to make Torghast a win for everyone. One side doesn't have to lose for everyone to get enjoyment.
These changes are nice and all but the incentive to do Torghast is literally just Soul Ash. There's nothing else. No unique mogs or rewards or anything. It's kind of pointless.
My 2 cents: So the layers are more or less 'required' content. As such they should be pretty easy. But a big part of the tower are the anima powers to make a build. Instead of nerfing and rebalancing and all that, how about just triple the anima powers. Let players have the tools to GET super mega broken and start curb stomping the place. Really, the fun part is the powers and builds. Right now there just aren't enough powers dropping or there are lots of... well kinda 'bad' powers. Like all the druid entangling root ones are just bad and can be removed. I am not going to ever have an entangling root build if for no other reason than that the end boss isnt going to care about entangling roots. Now just for context: I am a bear tank main and i was able to (barely) do the level 8. The issue wasn't the final boss or anything but the empowered venthyr caster who spammed sin bolts that hit like a truck. So it isn't like i couldn't do it, but it wasn't fun.Let the powers flow and let players put together builds that feel good.
The best thing you do to ease your (and all your alt's) runs is getting Ve'nari's permanent Torgast upgrades. Believe me. Just did it on another fresh toon, and with all the unlocked powers from main character it was a breeze, lots of rare/epic anima powers popping up.About 'overtuned' bosses, they DID some nerfs, Synod, it seems Patrician Cromwell too, and all those caster ones. You would interrupt a cast and they'd immediately recast it, or 2s later. Now? Cromwell only casts the Volley spell (that hit's hard and can still target you even if you pet-tank him) occasionally.
Blizzard really are doing a good job with this expansion, people have only just started grumbling about the length and it's being fixed soon.
may be if they make every layer gear ilvl dependent. Like layer 1 = 100ilvl gear and so on. Same as is in dungeon system.
"The Beta didn't prepare them for player behavior on live servers, where players were hopping into Layers they weren't geared for, just to get Soul Ash."Lold, how long is he a dev? I am sure that 99% of the people on wowhead knew this beforehand.

I'm glad Wowhead posted the bullet points, the way Polygon editorialized the interview instead of simply listing each question followed by the answer is annoying. I don't want to read the journalist's summary of the interview with a few quotes scattered throughout, I want to see exactly what Ion himself had to say word for word.
What about rewards ?
