Just caught this as I was checking the FF14 report, and I have played City of Heroes myself, so a couple of points I need to make out.- The instances complaint, I do agree it gets redundant. They actually have premade layouts for each floor they use, and they apply them several times throughout the game. This is actually a side effect of their "radio missions" system. To allow an infinite number of missions, they have to rely on a formulatic setup to keep it to a minimum of space. You'll get the same setup for any game that uses a randomizer setup. Not dismissing the complaint, just explaining why it's there.- The combat. No offense, but your understanding (or lack thereof) of the enhancement system stems from breezing through the early tutorial and not reading it. A lot of the basic mechanics that you "discovered" are explained in full detail. One of the benefits of reading. =)- The "good guy, bad guy" confusion. This one needs some background info, namely from the original City of Heroes perspective. According to game lore, the Earth we occupy is called Primal Earth in the game's multiverse. Praetoria is in another version of Earth called Praetorian Earth, and it has Statesman, which in Primal earth is the game equivalent to Captain America, as a facist tyrant akin to a super powered Hitler, who actually succeeded in conquering the earth. The heroes of Primal Earth are intent on ending the reign of The Tyrant, so any effort to do so, no matter how questionable, is considered a heroic action. It throws some "shades of gray" into the game.- The "exit" you planned. This is simple to explain. The game is literally designed to prevent suicide by freefall. Regardless of the height of the fall, you will always survive with at least 1 HP left. The only way to pull this off is to fall into a hostile group and let them finish you off.
