I guess these two guys never played a melee on their whole lives to say that the affix is fine. Spreading and min-maxing the debuff as a melee is going to be the most miserable experience ever, specially if you bring more than one.
Idk on beta it feels manageable with DH or at least felt last time I tried the hp buffed version. The issue is really just that its extremely boring, to the point that honestly even explosive feels more engaging than this affix. Seasonal affixes usually have some interesting and unique mechanics, this one has none. Its really just the bare minimum so that it can be called "seasonal", but nothing else. It seems first seasons will always be like that (either low effort: this / buggy: infested / not designed with m+ in mind: prideful). But compare this to BFA s1(if bugs get fixed in time?)/s2/s3/s4 or SL s2/s3/s4 affixes and you should notice that difference.
I do not think that affixes need to be new and exciting anymore, especially in the first Season. We are seeing new dungeons, balancing those is more important than adding new affixes every 3 months. In the end, everything ends up being "kill this to get a buff". Which is about to repeat every season because there aren't hundreds of ways to give "fun" buffs.I would say, the normal seasons should get boring affixes because we gotta learn new dungeons, new talents, new tier sets etc. I love when they go crazy in the last season of an xpac, when stuff gets repeated. We just know the plans for S1 and S2, which whill include all new m+ dungeons. For S3 or S4, we have no clue if they already repeat DF dungeons etc - and that is the point when we need affixes to make stuff exciting.
I figured that Thundering would be stronger judging from the title. I'm just confused as to why early clearing should be punished so harshly. Sure, if I still had a group to play with, I might be okay since I still keep firing off shots-to an extent. However, I'm more concerned about melee characters since mobility doesn't seem to be a high priority in class design.
they should just make the buff static AFTER you clear the marks imo.
As someone mentioned, the goal should be to clear the debuff ASAP. Then we get a damage buff. But they share the same timer so clearing quicker is encouraged because any time left is then damage. Make the initial application cause damage like quaking so you cannot just stack up to auto cleanse.Example:1. 15 sec debuff is applied2. Person A and B join at 13 sec left3. Debuff turns to buff giving both a damage increase for 13 seconds.
