I do not understand why this event is so easy, I imagined something more complex and seem to be lvl 80 mobs by how much life they have.Hopefully this is not the as "expected" pre-event mop.
So the horde get this little toy, and the alliance gets a tabard (and a toy in one). Before you say the alliance looses a town the horde lost the southern barrens, and a town (Camp T).
For a pre-expac event this was very underwhelming. Remember before WotLK released you had those ziggurats floating above all the major cities and everyone was turning into zombies. That was pretty cool because you felt like something was happening.

The thing is:
Not sure how TBC opening looked like. Have read that WotLK opening was somewhat "worldwide". Only witnessed Cataclysm opening, with funny questline, some bugged staying effects(Doomsday Messenger), as well as faction-related events(Lost Isles and Gnomeregan). Overall it felt quite epic - we saw that the next expansion is "coming".Of course, we won't see a rain of pandas or anything, and destruction of Theramore may play a great role in lore of MoP... But that's it? A 6-10 minute 3-person scenario? That will be replayable at 90? That doesn't look like an opening.Capital cities received pandaren NPCs - why not make something like Twilight Cult questline? To give idea about pandarens, monks...They delayed it for quite a while, to the point of stealth server restart. What for? There is nothing to see. Nothing to feel. You complete it over 10 minutes(everyone who waits in queue must be so lonely... even on dead realms), you get mini mana bomb - and that's it. Want some uncustom, poor-looking crappy items? Farm more. Want everlasting firework? No comment. I really envy people who can say themselves "NO", when prompted to farm. With an expansion of such magnitude, which can match the global reworking of Cataclysm and more, to have so "empty" opening feels wrong. Just wrong...
I was a bit disappointed in this pre-launch scenario. Its boring. And I have better gear than what I could "possibly" get as a reward. You can buy a higher level helm with justice points. The weapon possibly would be a nice upgrade for some who don't do regular raiding and have never won a weapon from looking for raid. But good luck getting once since very few players seem to be getting anything other than the fireworks. After getting the achievement (which will become a feat of strength for completing at level 85 once MoP comes out) and the tabard (alliance) or the bomb (horde) I really see no point in going back and doing it again. I understand this is setting up the changes in Theramore but I was really hoping they would have some sort of event like they did with other expansions instead of just this scenario.I didn't see the pre-BC event (if there was one) but the pre-wotlk zombie invasion was great. A lot of people had a lot of fun with that and we all got some really good gear out of it. The pre-cata city events were not that great but weren't horrible and people seemed to enjoy them for a little while. But this scenario thing is just BLAH. 10 mins, you're done, and no real incentive to go back. Really disappointing :( If you watch the horde video (above) even the narrator of the video kept saying over and over how disappointing the scenario is.
I haven't done the scenario yet, but I read the book and absolutely loved it. So I'm looking forward to it.
Remeber that if you want to resive the Feats of Streigth, Scenaturday you will have to do Theramore's Fall on Saturday.
Just did the Alliance version. I wish we'd gotten there before the bomb dropped, I wanted to be a part of it when it came down to the final minute and stuff. It was still cool to be there and it's pretty great to have a visualization of the book. Gonna do the Horde one now, wish me luck. :D
jaina went x-men *cough*
Would have been nice if someone, ANYONE, in all of the hype about this scenario, had mentioned...***Minimum ilevel of 353 in order to que for this scenario.***So apparently, the scenario is only open to ppl that have been doing end-game raiding for a long while.I just wrapped up Deepholm a couple days ago, and my ilvl is nowhere near that, barely breaking 300.
